1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [NLG] The even greater Gulden thread! on: January 16, 2022, 03:41:14 PM
I see the team has a new coin, if I were to invest €2500 into Gulden or Florin which one would you go for. Reading the comments it looks like Florin is the one to invest in from this team.  Gulden feels better because I can buy 275 000 coins and not much florin but I do understand florin supply is waaaayy smaller.
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [NLG] The even greater Gulden thread! on: January 14, 2022, 06:49:14 AM
I was a massive fan of this coin since 2016 and then my wallet with over 2 million coins got corrupted end of 2018 and didn't have any backups!! Fucking sucked but I am over it. I like the new wallets half forcing you to write down a passphrase.

I can't believe the development team pulled off the PoW2 and SegSig update!!! I started to worry around November 2017 that it wasn't going to happen but good thing I checked in. Price of this coin has always been behind the curve, I remember discussions about some early adopters wanting to keep the price down on purpose. Wouldn't surprise me if this was still happening?!?
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is Gulden a good investment? on: November 12, 2017, 06:02:50 PM
Just learned that the Gulden update is one big update, but activates in steps.

https://dev.gulden.com/a-peek-inside-the-development-process/

Phase 1 – Gulden 2.0 will be released, it will function exactly like an upgraded 1.6 at this point with no PoW˛ functionality present yet. Upgraded miners will signal for an upgrade, when 75% of miners are signalling the software will activate phase 2.
(Expected to last at most a week or two – depending on miners)

Phase 2 – A new special backwards compatible transaction script type will become available to upgraded (2.0) users which will allow them to create witnessing addresses. Old (1.6) users will verify these scripts but won’t be able to create or use them.
Once a minimum threshold is reached (200 or more witnessing accounts with a combined weight of 20 million or more) we will enter

Phase 3.
(Expected to last at most a week or two – depending on coin holders)
Phase 3 – PoW˛ witnessing commences, with a few limitations that allow old (1.6) users to remain on the network (no transactions allowed yet in the witness portion of the block for instance). Witnesses and miners will automatically start signalling a percentage of how many upgraded users they are
seeing, when this percentage goes over an average of 95% for a fixed time period we will enter Phase 4.
(We anticipate that this may take several months)

Phase 4 – At this point our backwards incompatible changes trigger, new transaction format/rules activate, PoW˛ witnesses start to include transactions in their portion of the block, witness accounts start to switch over to a new improved backwards incompatible transaction format, new accounts using the old temporary format are no longer allowed, SegSig activates etc. The remaining 5% of 1.6.x users will no longer be able to participate in the network.

Phase 5 – After some time 2.1 will be released, code to support old witness accounts can/will be safely removed with affecting block validation – leaving us with a codebase free of technical debt. Checkpointing can also be safely removed at this point.

SEGSIG – JUNE 2017

While working on the optimal way to implement the new address type, it became obvious that many parts of the codebase that need to change to accommodate this are the same parts that are affected by SegWit.

At around about the same time after watching SegWit for some time, it become clear that though the Bitcoin team had still failed to activate SegWit there was now a clear determination to do so and that one way or another SegWit in its current form -will- eventually be activated,
we therefore had to at this point give up hope that the Bitcoin team might develop a better SegWit which makes the sort of changes we were hoping for and instead accept that if we wanted this it would have to be something we do ourselves.
And so the concept of SegSig was born, we were faced with two possible paths forward:

1) Release PoW˛ hardfork as originally planned. (including extensive testing)
Go through the work of having everyone including exchanges and mining pools upgrade to it.
Produce SegSig as a hardfork, which involves changing a lot of the same code as PoW˛
Put our testers through extensive testing once again.
Go through the work of having everyone upgrade for a second time in a short time period.

2) Combine PoW˛ and SegSig together into one release, despite possible delays and release it all at once.

This was not an easy decision, I am not a fan of trying to do too many things in one release as this has the potential to get out of control and normally I would prefer to try and seperate things into multiple small releases. As a developer it would have been easier for me to take option 1.

Yes this is the Mother of all updates!

Rijk is laughing his ass off now, no one seems to even bother to check where the funds went. No one dares to even mention the words accountability or transparency in their nazi style run slack anymore! They are all afraid to get banned. Also the sense of loss has made them Gulden junkies that eat Rijks shit if he commands them to.

I really miss the daily phishing attempts on the old slack from anonymous users, anonymous users promoting their scam coins on the back of the Gulden user base. The new slack is much better and safer for new users.
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is Gulden a good investment? on: October 18, 2017, 07:27:52 AM
You capslock dicks should understand the number 1 rule of currency. acceptance
doesn't matter if it does not work as well, or copies. As long as people accept it over others, that's the only thing that counts not logic

I have to be on this side too. Number 1 is acceptance. Number 2 is how good it works. And Number 2 can eventually affect Number 1 if people have to choose between good coin or better coin. But acceptance is so powerful that even if there is a competitor that is better, it has to be so much better to change acceptance of the old.

Copy or original is not important at all. I happily use a copy of anything if it works well or works even better. I will do the same for any alt.

They need to get their release out before ETH does metropolis or it's a pointless excersise.Dutch people will want to earn the interest from PoW2 but if ETH offers this first then Gulden will be done for.

SegSig I know is the reason there is major delays for the release, if the bitcoin devs could save 58% on each transaction they would of.

You want PoW2 then get the devs to drop SegSig and use SegWit and you will have PoW2 this year.

Worried a $33 million marketcap coin is better then a $90 billion and $30 billion marketcap coins?

7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is Gulden a good investment? on: October 14, 2017, 04:06:26 PM
Gulden is good at development but crypto is not about innovation. It is a currency and it only need to work and have limited supply. Without much development EFL has a higher price at 1970 satoshi and Gulden with all it's development is at 1800 satoshi.

Introducing halving like ELF does more for value then any development. People want scarce money not helicopter money.

Gulden developers can develop their balls off but too much supply destroys value.

Today ELF (changed so post doesn't get deleted) moved up with btc to 3500 sat and NLG drop to 1700 sat.  This is with ELF focus on people and not blockchain innovation.

Not true, digibyte has a higher marketcap because we released SegWit first , it could of been Gulden but the devs thought they could do better then the bitcoin devs by creating a version that reduces block space by 58% and not 25% as per their dev page.

6 months later people are still waiting for this magic bullet , don't be shocked if only PoW2 is launched with bitcoins SegWit.

Gulden was first to update to 0.13 codebase but GRS was first to add SegWit. Digibyte was 4th or 5th but marketed the update better then the other coins.

Gulden did a lot of development in 2016 and this is why the coin managed top 20, if they kept the same speed in 2017 there would be less QQ in here.

You do know this project is like 5 times bigger then anything else released in crypto this year?
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is Gulden a good investment? on: August 09, 2017, 11:10:06 PM
You people do realise that in the top 100 on coinmarketcap over 65 coins are non minable aka 100% premined ICOs with the majority having been added in the last 2 to 3 months.

It's the best scam out there. Own 99% of the coins and push the price to any level you want without having to worry about dumping. Once enough coins get dumped on the exchanges those ICOs will be left for dead and many more will start up.

Coinmarketcap is the last place you should be looking at for a source of truth on a currencies real performance and usage.
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is Gulden a good investment? on: June 20, 2017, 08:41:41 AM
Scammers have found a new trick to get their coins listed straight into the top 50 on coinmarketcap. Start an ICO with 100% mined coins which they control 99%, user base I would guess is at least 100 times smaller then Guldens combined.

IOTA, Gnosis , Veritaseum, Basic Attention Token Basic, MobileGo, Ubiq, Quantum Resistant Ledger, Asch , Mysterium etc Just to name a few jumping onto the ICO bandwagon.

Another day in ICO paradise. None of these ICOs are worth more then $200 000 in valuations but they sucking a lot more value out of greedy people.

The Euro exchanges will solve a lot of problems for access of real users getting into Gulden.
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is Gulden a good investment? on: May 30, 2017, 09:33:05 AM
31 btc buy support looks weak. This community is still tiny in comparison to Doge and others. Is there any plans to create awareness for this coin with the PoW2 development on the way?

Almost 2900 users on slack.

Gulden is > 95% users and < then 5% traders, most of the people joining slack are getting involved with any form of digital currencies for the first time and therefore they don't even know bittrex exists.

The inverse of the above is true for 99% of the other coins out there.
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is Gulden a good investment? on: May 18, 2017, 09:51:17 AM
How the fuck did I get on that list? And to be fair, it's halfway through May and there's no whitepaper available yet, is there? Just a fuzzed out screenshot?

This type of response is why you got on the list, you are a non believer in Gulden.
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is Gulden a good investment? on: May 11, 2017, 09:45:50 AM

That is good news that Prime will be backed up with a whitepaper, this does mean it's not masternodes and is something fresh. Litesire and I both lose the bet because the development will only be done after July, if the whitepaper is only being released this month.

You were wrong about the whitepaper, what makes you think you going to be right about anything else regarding Gulden development?
15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is Gulden a good investment? on: May 10, 2017, 07:17:54 PM
I will keep investing in Gulden until the team has given me reasonable doubt not to trust them anymore.

Most of the negatives have said there won't be a whitepaper and prime will never be developed. The devs did say there will be a whitepaper (at one time) and prime is the next project. We will see who is telling the truth come May. I am expecting a half truth of no whitepaper but prime will be developed.

I am going to create a list of the haters, moderates and supporters and the camp they fall in and in the next 2 months we can see who is wrong and who is right.

No Prime No Whitepaper:              Prime - No Whitepaper:               Prime - Whitepaper:

Time to place bets?

Prime release.

Developers say May.
I am saying July.

I want to open up some betting with about 5 people.

10k says it will be July and those that say May must bet 10k against me. I am prepared to bet 50k on > 1st July release.

I will take that bet Smiley

I bet 10k that Prime (whatever that might be) will not be released in May but will be released before July.

June month no one wins the bet. 10k for < 1st June. This is what the developers are saying.

> 1st August bet is also off because then we all losers.

Count me in for this bet. I will risk 50 000 that the devs will deliver before July.
Will send you a PM to prove you have the funds and not wasting my time.

Litesire you have lost the bet , if you lucky Prime will come in June but if I had to bet again I would say August. They wasted time on another wallet.  Angry Angry . This is having a negative affect on the market.

Gulden is developed for users , not for traders.
17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoins with SegWit support [actually: GRS, SYS] on: April 06, 2017, 03:24:06 PM
Please stay away from Gulden, it's the one coin that isn't corrupted and has done more development then basically every other coin besides Ethereum. This is a fact and why they surviving and prospering without the need for bitcointalk Pump and dumpers, scammers and con artists.

Dev must reveal truth or I place large sell order to crush price. 1 million at 3000.

You mean 3000 coins at 1mil Satoshi. All talk and no action!

I am battling to keep up with all the conspiracy theories here. Wait for SkyNet, it's coming soon!
20  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is Gulden a good investment? on: April 01, 2017, 05:36:55 PM
In reply to Konner and AltcoinFanatic, this is what I heard. A new dormant system has been put in place called SkyNet. "On the 29th August 2017 SkyNet becomes self aware and will start to dominate the Gulden blockchain in ways we never thought possible, it will manifest itself into every facet of our lives, rumour has it the nuclear launch codes for all countries will be stored in the Gulden blockchain. Rijk will be the only one with the keys to shut down SkyNet (We hope) , which will make SkyNet centralised but act in a decentralised way."

I was told this by someone on slack who sent me a message here on bitcointalk. It's anonymous but reliable source.
