221  Economy / Economics / Re: Money is never enough! on: March 03, 2024, 09:36:32 PM
Think of when you hit a jackpot, and some cool cash slide into your pocket, you feels better and step up some pride and involved arrogance, you feel like you can buy the world with your peanuts lol, bro, I little shopping out of it can makes you look like a poor man again. There is this oil dealer guy in my community who happen to be hot market pro in the oil industry, he owns an oil well but this guy it gets to his head and start contesting for political power which he has lose twice now and the worst of it now is that the oil well is dried because suck the money into politics, loss everything. This money is never really enough, no wonder even the President of nations still fights to get money after office.
What I see in this is a typical example of greed!! And the worst part about it is that such people no matter how much money they can get their hands on, I can guarantee you that they will never be satisfied with it.
Btw, given a chance for this guy to start his political career doing whatever task the job requires him to do, these are the kind of people that will not do their jobs but prefer to loot and run the reserves dry because money will never be enough and they will never be content with what they have thanks to greed.

Otherwise the secret to avoid all this greed is to know how to keep your money and how not to lose it !

224  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: March 03, 2024, 04:38:15 PM
Manchester United leading Man City at the break of the first half is some unexpected result especially after that City performance against Luton, and them getting the early lead is something didn't really see could happen with United's shaky form...And Rashford getting a goal against the citizens is definitely a confidence booster that he so needed at the moment to silence his critics!!

And with the second half coming, am thinking  that's the real test to see if the boys can be disciplined at the back to avoid any clumsy fouls and the alike, otherwise GG United Wink
225  Economy / Gambling / Re: JustCasino.io | Get the Best Crypto Casino Experience on: March 03, 2024, 01:11:59 PM
Right, it's a brutal business, a lot of competitions and it's just really hard to cope with the big boys if you are just new in the game and you don't have that big pockets. Yes, it could have been skyrocketing, but if no one is playing in your casino, sooner or later you can't maintain the cost and upon weighing everything, they have to decide for their future to shutdown their crypto related platform.
You can say that again!

I guess it is safe to say the barriers to entry in this industry do exist, and the worst part is that even after splashing money here and there to grow your user base... the cost to try to convert players from one platform to yours, means incurring high marketing costs, and incentives need to be continuously given ...and unfortunately if you are in a hurry to see results this industry will break you as it takes time to see some green numbers.

At least they have been transparent to you as to what is the reason behind being their campaign manager and somewhat representing them in this community.
real winners for this!

228  Economy / Economics / Re: What is The Negative Effect of Inflation on Household Savings? on: March 02, 2024, 05:31:34 PM
Like you have already pointed out, the most obvious impact of inflation is loss of buying power by a currency,  meaning we need twice the money to buy a single product.

Then other impacts a country will see is a slow down in the economy, which translates into less production of goods and services as the cost of doing business goes high..translating into expensive household goods as the consumer is the end user .

Inflation could also make home grown products expensive thereby encouraging importing of goods which could be a cheaper alternative of household goods.
229  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: your perception about gambling on: March 02, 2024, 02:00:50 PM
I decided to come up with this topic because of an experience i had yesterday and i decided to bring it here for clarity sake and to see some people's view about it.

There is this notion the society placed on those who gamble or who play all sorts of games ,be it casino,bet9ja,R/S lotto, what, snooker and many others. They often see them as those who don't have what to ,or caliber of individuals who are jobless, a se of people who are not well trained by their parents and many more other names they call them.
People will always talk, be it good or bad someone will always find something bad to point at, it's human nature... besides you don't need to play to the gallery just because you want to fit in!! Btw, when we talk of some of the wealthy people of the world, you discover that all these guys did extraordinary things and this means don't let society dedicate your life unless it's something illegal don't do it, anything else go for it!!

i sincerely came up with this topic to find out why they have such views on individuals who voluntarily went to the betting shop to gamble either to win and make a difference or to lose and remain the same way.  This idea actually started when i saw a pastor playing bet9ja after a brief evangelism and one elderly woman made a side comment ( That even man of GOD also play gamble) .

however, my question here now is : is gambling restricted to some certain kind of individuals or class?  or is there any stratification when it comes to playing gambling ?please your opinions here here will actually quench my curiosity.
I think it's fair to just say phrase this correctly, why are you gambling..? Is it for the money, are you trying to fit in with a certain group of people, do you have the sporting knowledge or Casino skill and you paying yourself for it... honestly for those that gamble, everyone has their reasons why they do gamble and has nothing to do with class etc.

231  Economy / Economics / Re: If being a graduate is the key to being wealthy, why are there poor graduates? on: March 01, 2024, 11:14:52 PM
Because the system is broken and not everyone can be rich unfortunately Roll Eyes!!

Btw, too many graduates of today depend on white collar jobs and few of them want to do the tough jobs such as engineering, being a specialised doctor and all that good stuff. Aa

There could be an element of laziness too which is another inhibitor to success, for those willing to work it's usually the job experience that sits on their success but it's all about time as their time to shine will come..just don't give up yet!!
232  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If everyone is holding their bitcoin, will there be a balance? on: March 01, 2024, 09:49:10 PM
I have read several posts encouraging people to hold their bitcoin for the greater good of bitcoin and probably more reward in the future. I have also been able to buy some for myself and also holding. But there is this concern that usually pop up in my head anytime I am meditating and that is what will happen if everyone is holding their bitcoin and no one is willing to sell.
I hate to break it to you mate, but we humans are in a habit of exhibiting some form of greed whenever it comes to valuable things and want everything to ourselves....and Bitcoin having early adopters means these will want to sell sooner or later at one point when everyone is preaching about holding they certainly won't be in on this..which means not possible for all to hold.

Btw, for a balance to happen buyers and sellers need to be at an equilibrium and not everyone being Hodlers...if everyone started to hodl the effect would push price up as this would create an artificial shortage on the market which would be bad for late investors.

If this question appear dumb, please pardon me, I just need clarifications.
Not a dumb question btw, if you don't ask you will not get the answers you need Wink
233  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling still pays regardless of our losses on: March 01, 2024, 04:43:28 PM
Congratulations on your win buddy but your message doesn't sit right with me!!

I don't know for how long you have been gambling, but hope you understand that there is what is called beginners luck and just because you won the first one doesn't mean you will always win ...and saying regardless of losses it still pays mean you are always going to be in profits.

And if I ask veteran gamblers they all say not everyday is a rainy day and we need to keep it at that.

Btw, those that can boast of being profitable are numbered and not everyone can say this proudly!
234  Other / Meta / Re: [Results 2023] Bitcointalk Community Awards 🏆 on: March 01, 2024, 05:49:45 AM
Event of the Year and Fail of the Year results show how much of an impact "the news" of the "ban" on the forum had..but what the heck we take the news with a pinch of salt and move on, maybe in the future this ban will be lifted !!

Otherwise great competition it was and some names proving to be undisputed in their categories and don't see this changing anytime soon.. all in all congratulations 💐🥳🎉 🎁 to all those that emerged has winners.
235  Other / Meta / Re: Should Merit-Sources send merit based on their feelings or quality of the post? on: March 01, 2024, 05:35:04 AM
Before anything, these are human beings you are dealing with & emotions are very much part of the biology!
So understanding the point raised means , if you choose a path that  will put you in bad books with merit sources and not get you these golden nuggets you have yourself to blame, and let's not forget this isn't an easy undertaking especially that this isn't a paid job for them to spend time going through threads looking for posts that qualify to be merited... otherwise naturally merit should be based on the quality of the most just like they do when making applications when trying to become merit sources.
236  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sports that you don’t watch but you keep placing bets on: February 29, 2024, 08:36:19 PM
Do you have a sports that you keep betting on even though you don’t watch this sports live or you don’t know the full specifications of this game?
Funny thing is I do have several sports of this nature I bet on but never get to watch these sports ...but because I have some knowledge on how they are played I think I can get away with it as I check head to heads and past performance which gives me the edge on them and the math does add up, but I wouldn't advise someone else to do this as this could be betting blindly.

Although my case is different, maybe this will count: Betting on a different league that I don't follow but is still under my favorite sports.

To make it clear, for example, I always bet on basketball as my preferred sport, usually in the NBA and our local basketball league, PBA. But sometimes, when I'm feeling it, extending my betting to other basketball leagues which is not familiar to me, and my knowledge is lacking, like CBA, NCAA, NBL any other basketball league from different countries that was covered by the sportsbook.

My winning rate placing bets from unfamiliar leagues? Not good. Smiley

This NCAA league is one of my favorites btw, eye balling the rate at which baskets are made boom you have an average and can predict average totals being over or under... among those I don't watch but enjoy.
237  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Interviews] with sport gamblers on: February 29, 2024, 04:40:24 PM
Take your time for answers to these questions, invite your friends to take part in this interview, leave a comment or a suggestion!!!

Below a series of questions, feel free to answer all or only part ...

1. When and why did you become interested in gambling // gambling with crypto currency?
When..let's just say can't remember but why I got into crypto gambling was because I wanted to grow my crypto portfolio faster, but gambling being gambling things don't go as expected.

2. What is your opinion about this forum section (gambling / gambling discussion)?
Compared to what I have seen on other forums, I honestly think we are far much better than most forums and the best part is most major sports have a dedicated thread and knowledgeable users on these sports too.

3. Are you still gambling with FIAT money? What are the pros/cons for gambling with crypto/bitcoin?
Once in a while I do play with fiat but having gone crypto the benefits are major...I don't get to pay high processing fees from the card processor, no prying eyes of transactions on bank statements etc

4. What is your best and your worst result from gambling activity?
Best results is winning a bet that I wanted to wager on from a small odd to a big odd and this turned out to be a Winner.

Worst result is betting on 1.05 odds and got to lose and ever since I don't like such low odds.

5. Did you feel craving for betting? Have you ever had a gambling addiction? What is your maximum tipe without bet?
I do read alot of gambling stories  from success, failures, addiction etc and knowing the negative effects of gambling I always find ways to break any possibilities of me getting hooked.

6. What is your favorite field for betting? What is your "common bet" (likewise over 2.5, both team score... etc)
Hate betting on football but favourite field has to be the overs and unders because they are highly rewarding. Common bet- Odd or Even.

7. Did you will recommend anyone to gamble?
If you aren't gambling don't start!

8. Have you ever bet against your "favorite team"?
Several times, a good gambler doesn't use emotions if  winning is the agenda.

9. Did you think gambling is an hobby or a job?
Hobby....

10. Would you have the same commitment even without the signatures?
IRL whatever I make that's for my personal use for family and friends, for crypto this is where I have asome breathing room to play with the funds.

11. Tell me something that you would see in gambling forum section or a new option that is still missing from bookmakers

12. What you think are the most useful gambling topics and why
Let's just say didn't users will find different threads to be useful, for this I say all are useful.
238  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Does Technical Analysis Really Work? on: February 29, 2024, 11:47:24 AM
I am seeking the opinion of the experienced and voicing my opinion.

I think if a training is 100% for learning, 1% of it is technical analysis and the rest 99% is psychological games..Because I have been learning and trading technical analysis for a long time but mostly I lose.
Retail trading is a whole different ball game especially that most traders want to be overnight millionaires, and btw there is a whole lot of stuff that goes on to be a profitable trader!
Are you trading with money you can afford to lose?? There is a saying " if you can't buy it twice then you can't afford it" and I believe in this saying because if you are trading and you are always thinking about where you will need to get your next funds to fund your account then it will negatively affect your psychological...so to be  profitable it's actually 1% Skill and 99% Patience.. reason for this is that people have the skill but what fails them mostly is the FOMO---lack of patience!!! If traders can work on their patience, I believe everything will be okay.

I don't have any psychological knowledge about trading. Looking for expert opinion on psychological mind set.
For a change of mindset, practice more to have more confidence in your strategy and know how to manage your trades.

240  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Premier League 2023/2024 Discussion Thread ⚽ on: February 28, 2024, 09:29:51 PM
Manchester United failing to break down a Nottingham forest side that looks determined to spoil the Red devils night, and from what am seeing they are actually looking more dangerous than the visitors...not sure if them playing away has a psychological effect but not impressed with what am seeing tbh... could this be because they don't have Hojlund as their top man to make things happen in the goal scoring department, otherwise United not impressive without him. Btw today Onana does look sharp and credit should go where it's due Wink

Superb game for Haaland and De Bruyne yestarday.
The opponent was weak for sure but they did great.

When De Bruyne is having a good day and providing for the strikers, be assured goals will be produced and we saw this happen for Halaad who we thought was still finding his form and yesterday could have unlocked that missing piece.
