21  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will Dogecoin have a future? on: May 19, 2017, 12:47:57 PM
In the past I was surprised to see coins like Dogecoin gaining so much ground in the market, but then I saw centralized and even more meaningless coins, like Ripple, reaching the billions in marketcap. This leads me to believe that there is some demand with unknown origins in the market, unless everything is nothing but manipulation.
22  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you save bitcoin for fun or for future purpose? on: May 02, 2017, 11:39:16 PM
People who invest without knowing the technology are gambling, so in this case they do it almost for fun. But people who really put effort into understanding how it works and where the demand comes from, such individuals do invest because they consider Bitcoin a serious investment.
23  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is the best source of bitcoin nowadays? on: April 18, 2017, 12:33:38 AM
From the results of the poll, it seems like people are learning that hyip, cloud mining, and the like are a waste of money. Finally crypto is maturing
24  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: To litecoin haters on: April 03, 2017, 02:20:54 PM
I think patience is something that really can make a difference when it comes to currencies like Litecoin, development is slow, but at least there is solid progress, and developers bring something new just when it's really needed.
25  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC Hard fork is a good thing. ETH did very well. on: March 19, 2017, 10:18:25 PM
Maybe some guys make some profit in the short term, but I think for the long term this would be something bad for Bitcoin. Things like this will define how users and investors will see Bitcoin in the future.
26  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How can gambling help you with your life? on: March 03, 2017, 10:46:07 PM
I think the benefits of gambling are more related to entertainment. In terms of profit, I do not see many benefits. There are lucky people who make fortunes in days, but it's something rare.
27  Economy / Economics / Re: Why is bitcoin worth? Welcome to discuss on: February 15, 2017, 11:57:40 PM
Bitcoin has value for the simple fact that it does what was proposed to be done. This means that the currency fulfills its role in allowing people to have a decentralized and secure way of storing value. Many people do not feel secure enough to store value in fiat currency, gold or other assets, and for these people Bitcoin is a good way to diversify.
28  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Operating a BTC gambling site - Worth it? on: February 01, 2017, 06:52:53 PM
I think this will depend on your skills and the money you have to invest in the business. If you have few programming and website design skills, you will probably have to hire more people who can help you, and this will increase the cost. If you already have good skills, this can lower costs, but it is important to consider expenses with marketing.
29  Economy / Economics / Re: Should I believe in Bitcoin ? on: January 16, 2017, 04:27:38 AM
Well, everything is actually a risk but going with bitcoin, for me, is a well calculated risk.
Even using fiat is have a risk. Most of us didn't know that our value of money is decrease because fiat printing by government that make an inflation for fiat. We should thrust bitcoin because so many great country is start to believe bitcoin too.

Why there are people who are scared of the risk with bitcoin. Actually the risk upon usage of bitcoin is not that really an issue or something to be scared of. As long as you are able to make your first profit with bitcoin in a legit way not with those scam HYIP's or cloud mining. Your belief with bitcoin is going to become stronger each day.
The risk of investing in Bitcoin is somewhat high, compared to the risk of investing in the forex market, or the stock market, but the risks of investing in Bitcoin are certainly not so high compared to investing in altcoins or cloud mining, which is almost always a ponzi scheme.

31  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Which Bitcoin Client do you use and why ? on: January 13, 2017, 05:27:22 PM
I am using Multibit, I tried to use the official blockchain but it was quite heavy, I use multibit because its lite weight, though I have not tried any other and this one was also suggested by a guy who introduced me to bitcoin.
Its working alright I guess.
From the information I have, the official client is safer, but in fact it's quite heavy, and most users will probably need to wait a long time for synchronization to take place. Blockchain.info has worked without major problems for me. I'm not yet aware of Multibit, but I think it's worth researching.
32  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [GBYTE] Byteball Speculation on: January 13, 2017, 05:06:15 PM
BYTEBALL GOOD.

HODL'N MY BALLS

Yes, it is necessary to keep bytes, they likely will be 1 million. Technology is not worse than the Waves, and it's all done by one person without special funding.
Considering that the crypto is listed in only one exchange, the results achieved so far demonstrate that there is real demand in the market, there are people interested in the technology.

A little more promotion could make things much better, but I believe that when large exchanges start listing the cryptocurrency, Byteball will be presented to a much larger number of people, among them great investors, of course.
33  Other / Off-topic / Re: Bitcoin is a good investment now, because... on: January 13, 2017, 04:46:01 PM
I think the price has dropped to a point where it will be difficult to find a better opportunity. The price may drop a little more, but it probably will not reach the seventy-fifty dollar range again. This may be a good opportunity to invest, in my opinion, because besides the fact that the price has dropped a lot, there are many events that may occur this year that can bring much attention to Bitcoin.

Probably many apps will be ready this year... Megaupload 2.0, for example, has already been able to raise millions of dollars in fundraising.
34  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BitCoin 20 Years From Now on: January 13, 2017, 04:39:55 PM
It is very difficult to make this prediction, but there is a consensus, among most experts, that there is a good chance that the long-term results will be very positive and, as I see it, twenty years is enough time for the ecosystem to develop and reach large numbers of people, much can happen even before that.
35  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can trading be considered as gambling?? on: January 13, 2017, 04:26:21 PM
It depends on how you are performing your operations. If the individual invests without knowing very well the business, and without being sure if the decisions that are being made are the right decisions, in this case it can be said that the person is gambling, because there is a high risk of losses occurring.

However, since the trades are conducted based on knowledge and solid fundamentals, trading becomes very different from gambling.
36  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How do I grow my btc? on: January 05, 2017, 05:33:02 PM
You can invest in trading in Altcoin/Bitcoins. Better do a thorough research before investing in a altcoin. Read its ANN thread, who are its founders, who have invested in it and what is its market value. Dont ever invest in gambling sites. You may even loose your investment. Dont invest in cloud mining as lot of them are scams nowadays.
I think this would only be advisable for people with more experience in crypto and, of course, good trading skills. For individuals with less experience, looking for a more stable market, Bitcoin / Fiat trading seems to be a better option. The volatility of the altcoins market in fact brings great possibilities, but with the current volatility in the Bitcoin market, there are also good chances of profit, as long as the right decisions are made.
37  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: January 05, 2017, 05:21:07 PM

Totally agree with what you said. The distribution of the BB should be to its supporters, most are active in this forum, and to the developers of the applications on top of this framework. When I read the white paper, I see tons of features, great features, that will be used by the applications. So we should reward the creator of these applications with byteballs. Random people, when receiving bb, if they don't have an interest to it, will just dump it. It does not help the coin.

Good point. The strength of the byteball is that it is a platform, so tony should reward those who help to create applications (DAC or those use smart contract) on top of it. Like what Ethereum did to help those projects.

Agree!

While I applaud Tony for his effort and this coin.

I'm not a big fan of ICO's holding a majority of the coin.
Will Lisk team start actively developing on top of Byteball?
Dont really think so ...

It would be nice if this somewhat changed for future distributions.

Either way, really would like to see the plan complete distribution laid out and the timeframe for it.

Is the time/amount being decided round by round?  Feels like we're in the dark on the end-to-end distribution of this coin.

I'm not much of a fan of it either, but it's naive to think Tony will start blacklisting addresses... As I see it, the only way to get rid of them is if they dump all their coins on the market.
38  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why trading is better than gambling? on: December 30, 2016, 12:18:49 AM
I think these are two activities that do not fit into the same category, so it's difficult to do the deeper comparison. Trading is more like an investment, and gamgling is more like a game. From my point of view, trading is a better option because it allows for more stable profit and better control of risks.
39  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How serious is BTC to you? on: December 13, 2016, 09:14:21 AM
Bitcoin in my opinion is an opportunity not to be missed, so I'm really serious about collecting as much bitcoin as I can before something that triggers the bitcoin price to go higher and higher, without stop Smiley

Everyone should take bitcoin seriously. Otherwise, it is their loss.
That's true. Although some users complain that they have not bought Bitcoin before, I think that this is still a relatively new technology, and with great potential for profit for investors who buy at this stage.

If you keep all the money without investing, there is the risk of you suffering losses because of inflation. Therefore, Investing is welcome, as long as the investment is reliable, having real capacity of providing profits.
