yes it would be ideal because mining on a local p2pool node is much more efficient
469  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN][BQC][P2pool] - First BBQCoin P2Pool - http://bbq.crabdance.com:8900 on: May 07, 2013, 06:11:39 PM
source?

edit: just saw the post, any how-to on modify and compile on linux?
I already have a cnc p2pool, this should be much different

471  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: FeatherCoin - New Litecoin based coin on: May 07, 2013, 05:35:31 PM
can someone explain to me why the retarget time is so high?
it seems everyone is jumping ship due to current diff of 188 and expected diff of 50.
why mine at 188 when it will become 50 later.
that will ultimately change the value of each coin.
better to mine other like litecoin

also isnt the target time pr block 2,5min? now its average 9min.

all this factors shows that the network hash has gone from 5500 to 2500(the big starthype at btc-e)
and now from 2500 to 1300 due to difficulty variation.

re-target is high because hashpower went way down, people mined cnc after ftc and probably now mining ltc

Why i suspecting this guy to have gpu miner avalible at launch? thats what ill do if i wanted to scam everyone with a new altcoin, make some changes to avoid using of software that is already avalible and have m own gpu mining software on launch that no one else has.

But, but...that would just make too much sense. Smiley

we said this many times already, it's clearly the case
474  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][YAC] yacoin: yet another altcoin. Release in 24 hours. on: May 06, 2013, 06:31:13 PM
the thing is, no miner will work on this one, no even cpu miner, all of them have to be ajusted, so for the first hour at least, it will be a client only solo mining.

BTW ill highly recomend everyone to run this on a VM and any cpu miner mod that may come up as well.

unless they already have modified miners  Huh
475  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][YAC] yacoin: yet another altcoin. Release in 24 hours. on: May 06, 2013, 06:24:23 PM
Would anyone mind posting link to good solo mining setup guide?

you can use the client, nothing else required

479  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which coins are not scams? on: May 06, 2013, 02:44:28 PM
The logic is really simple: If BTC bursts, every other coin is devalued along with it. If FTC bursts, nothing happens..

if BTC bursts only BTC holders will get burned
480  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will CNC go back up? on: May 06, 2013, 01:48:53 PM
it will probably go further down today/tomorrow; miners will sell the whole lot trying to make at least some profit (seel > buy)
also diff will go up in a few hours and the network will shrink by a fair bit
