7  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: WTB Risers (CAN) on: July 05, 2017, 03:11:24 PM
Just a small update. I did received the risers and they were the correct ones (pcie 6pin with 4 caps) didn't check the lenght of the usb cables yet but i can assume everything is perfect.
Thank you

No matter how many they put out, there's always people buying or reselling higher. Nvidia is overpriced as you said but still available.

I think the only ones buying rx 580 are uninformed miners or gamers now, smart people are waiting for Vega, they think Vega will save them hehe

the "they think Vega will save them hehe" really hit me  Grin Grin Grin

Guys I have preordered 7x570 4gb which will be shipped 10th of July should I just cancel and switch to gtx 1060?

Yeah, cancel and get the 1070 instead. Even if you can only get 5-6 of them instead go the 1070 way

30-33 Mh/s that's disappointing.

You can get 32 Mh/s with a GTX 1070.

I don't know about you but for me this is good news.
Maybe we won't need to change our cards for another few months
12  Other / Off-topic / Re: BitcoinTalk Addict.. on: June 28, 2017, 08:26:44 PM
Addicted to Bitcoins ?

Of course..

...

Addicted to BitcoinTalk.. !?

..Didn't see that one coming..

I'm on about '1 check every 10 minutes' 15hrs a day, 7 days a week, ... 5 years and counting..

..

I find it comes in waves.. sometimes you become a post monster, for a few weeks you're chatting away (arguing like mad).. and then you chill out, and lurk for a while.. before diving back in again..

..

Of ALL my addictions.. this is my favourite..  Tongue

Thanks All!

(Maths + Money + Code .. who could ask for more.)

I check bitcointalk at work constantly, I have to use a proxy to avoid getting caught... everyone I know that owns bitcoin is also on bitcointalk constantly checking some good content. A lot of the core devs post here in the development section. The altcoin section is also pretty much the best on the internet to find new projects because every new project posts announcements. The speculation section is fun and I enjoy the trolling.

I think that even if I got rich from bitcoin and retired, I would still check it pretty much daily.

I am also on bitcointalk constantly at work but i don't need a proxy though XD.  I got dual screens so the left one has the forum open from the moment I arrive until I leave to go home. Sadly didn't realise this was an addiction. But it's an addiction i can tolerate.
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: AMD Vega frontier released! on: June 28, 2017, 08:18:14 PM
So it is released few tests are already published. Is there anyone who preordered it?

pre-review: http://www.guru3d.com/news-story/amd-vega-frontier-edition-unboxed-and-benchmark.html

Now this is music for the ears of miners. I love that 16384 MB or 16 GB GDDR5 memory and that extreme bandwidth 483.8GB and the bus width extreme of 2048 bit. I think this will make about 40-42 mhash out of the box in Ethereum and can even go to 50 mhash for a card with a bit of tweaking and overclocking.

I have made ready a board for September with an Asrock K4 B250 gaming with 6-GPUs ready to be filled when these vega cards came out.
Truly spectacular specs if they are for real Smiley

The ram is not GDDR5 it's HBM2
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: AMD Vega frontier released! on: June 28, 2017, 08:11:49 PM
Well s*** i just bought 7 1070 for a rig... Are the new AMD GPU's with the HBM2 ram going to be better at mining then the ones with GDDR5???
Also no release date?

Thanks

Hi,
I am looking to buy a batch of 20 pcie Risers usb 3.0 6pin 60cm long
I already placed an order from someone on amazon but they stated to me that "because of the bad weather we will have to delay the shipment by 2-3 days" and it's past 2-3 days and still no tracking number so I am skeptical. So looking to buy from someone here.

EDIT: forgot to specify these risers would need to arrive no latter than june 30. I am willing to pay a premium to get these soon.

EDIT2: preferably a from Canada/USA would be best

Thanks

Ahem... we got what you need, shipping directly from Vancouver. Smiley

19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Is it feasible creating a mining farm in an apartment? on: June 22, 2017, 08:38:44 PM
I maxed out 100A service in a 525sq.ft. studio.  6x 6-card 1070 rigs, 6x 7-card 470 rigs.  If I wanted to use the stove I needed to switch out the server PSUs.  If I wanted to use the microwave I needed to shutdown a 470 rig.  I wore heavy-duty noise canceling headphones during the day and slept with earplugs in.  I made it through fall, winter and spring in Chicago.  Obviously I never turned on the heat.  Once the outside temperature started getting above 60F in spring it would get to about 80F inside despite the massive fans and airflow I had setup.  I made enough money in 9 months of living like this to buy a house and scale up.

Is it possible?  Yes.  Does it come with sacrifices?  Yes.  You decide if it's worth it.

-TBT

you got 12 rigs... hope you bought a nice house with a nice 30tons a/c for a medium shed in the backyard  Grin
