If bitcoins completely disappeared would these machines have any resale value? I don't understand why everyone argues that they will not pay off even if it takes 2 years to break even, you still have the machine, say it is worth $5k after two years thats a 16% return. I may not completely understand the risks but sounds solid to me.
We would like to let all our clients know that, in case of Bitcoin failure, we will make all our units OpenSource, and thus making it possible for the clients to sell their units to various industries at almost certainly higher price than they purchased it in the first place. Regards, BF Labs Inc. This makes no sense. Why would you not open-source now and make more money (according to you)?

I think that because you need a computer in order to run a BFL, and after the emergency technology convention on October 5th, 2011, Macintosh coasters are no longer classified as computers.
Now that's just mean. BitcoinBaltar, try starting cgminer with the following option added: --disable-gpu

Along with the beta release of our maintenance and diagnostics tool (EasyMiner), we're making an experimental firmware available for running your Singles at a faster than stock 864 mh/s. BFL
I think you mean faster than stock 832 Mh/s

Solved! .... I squeezed the blob manually and distributed it all over the FPGA with my finger to build a thin film, attached the heat-pipe back - et voilá, device is working at full speed with 815MH/s BFL, does this void our warranty when we have to do such repairs? Are customers authorized to open the device in cases like this?

Will it be possible to upgrade BFL units that are already out in the "field" or do they need to be sent back to BFL for reprogramming?
I wonder if BFL will ever answer this question? Will using P2Pool with BFL always be a problem?

1. Is the bottom plate pre-drilled and tapped for the ATX screw pattern?
2. Can the video cards be screwed into the beam at the front, if so, how? (Like a standard case to keep them from shifting from side to side).

I tried moving my hard drive from a motherboard that only had one GPU to a motherboard that had three GPU's plugged in. I did the sudo aticonfig -f --adapter=all --initial and rebooted, I also deleted the .bin file in cgminer's directory. CGminer gave an error about the number of devices not matching. It saw three devices, but OpenCL was only seeing one? Where else does OpenCL know about the number of video cards besides xorg.conf and what else should I have done besides running aticonfig? The system was build with these instructions: https://github.com/kanoi/linux-usb-cgminer/blob/master/linux-usb-cgmineropencl has nothing to do with xorg I'm afraid, but what you need before starting cgminer is: I'm not running as root. DISPLAY is already set. And I'm not using SSH, I'm on the local console.

Is anyone sucessfully running their BFL Singles against p2pool? I understand the frequent LONGPOLL's cause a problem with BFL's 5 second calculation. (By successful, I don't just mean that it works, I mean it works efficiently and you are making the normal amount of coin as expected). If so, can you share your settings for CGMiner?
