221  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Still need powered risers? GA-M55S-S3 on: April 30, 2013, 08:52:08 PM
I have come across this powered risers offer

http://www.dhgate.com/100pcs-lot-pcie-express-x16-riser-card-flexible/p-ff8080813de859d9013e36a84b397cb1.html

is dhgate.com legit, anyone had experience dealing with them?
I can get them for cheaper than that price if you are ordering in 100+ pcs
222  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: litecoin rig check (4x 7950) on: April 30, 2013, 06:32:00 PM
I like the Gigabyte 7950s, and actually have 7 of them, but they do run hot inside a case if you don't have very good airflow.

Whichever card is plugged into PCI-E slot 1 also seems to run very hot, so they do much better in an open case using risers.

They come factory overclocked at 1000/1250, and do over 600k mining litecoin without additional over clocking.

I really like these cards, but keep an eye on temps if you use them in a closed case and plug the cards directly into the mobo.
They suck a lot of power though. At least 50w more than other 7950 cards. I guess the extra KH has to come from somewhere.
223  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: litecoin rig check (4x 7950) on: April 30, 2013, 06:30:57 PM
so can you tell me what thread concurrency you are using? i use 217xx and need ~1500gb ram per card
3 cards was the limit for 4gb running on win7 64 with cgminer

the ram does not show as "used" in task manager but unless you have enough ram cgminer throws errors...
Then you are doing something very very wrong. No way it uses that much ram.
224  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: litecoin rig check (4x 7970) on: April 30, 2013, 06:30:13 PM
If you want to waste your money on RAM for a litecoin mining rig that isn't need, go ahead.

I'm done.  Grin
Exactly. Let those people waste their money.
I am in the similar boat with you, running 4x 7950 on a 2gb ram.
225  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Motherboards: What Works w/Four or More GPUs? List Them on: April 30, 2013, 06:14:42 PM
I've learned that it is VERY  important to first try a 4+ GPU rig at STOCK card clocks, then if that proves stable gradually OC each card until it becomes unstable then back off 10MH/z. Do this for each card until they are all running 24/7, in both mild and hot weather, without a problem. You will likely notice that some cards will OC very well and some will NOT. One unstable card can bring down the entire mining rig. Stability RULES!
Yes, especially with multiple rigs. I have mine all running stock speed and stock voltage.
226  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Motherboards: What Works w/Four or More GPUs? List Them on: April 30, 2013, 06:12:19 PM
WORKS
Motherboard Brand: Biostar
Motherboard Model & PCIe Slots: A870U3 (2x16, 2x1)
Power Supply Brand & Model: Corsair TX850 (Pulling ~615W at the wall)
Number & Model GPUs: 4x Sapphire 5830 Xtreme (Overclocked & undervolted)
Extender Cables w/Molex Power?: No

Motherboard automatically unlocks 2nd core of Sempron 140.
I have a mix of 5870 and 5850, overclocked, no voltage change. the mobo fried up within a few weeks.
227  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: What tempature do you run your GPU's on: April 30, 2013, 06:07:44 PM
Pfff, I only mine LTC and Im happy if my cards are under 100c. But they are kind of cramped up and OC'd to bejeezus.

My understanding of GPU tech is that the chips can run MUCH hotter than a CPU for long periods.

For a CPU, 90c would be too hot but for a GPU 90c is totally fine, but I have to set fans to 85%+ to get this, so fan life is reduced.
Mine run at 100-101C. Been stable for 3 weeks.
It was a crappy designed 7950, where the fan spin at 100%, and still temp at 100C. Open air, no case. Used riser cable, space between cards.
228  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [LTC][Pool][PPS]notroll.in PPS Pool -scam alert- on: April 26, 2013, 04:29:17 PM
Having withdraw issues still. When will this be fixed?
Never?
229  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: is anyone able to run 6x 7950 on win7 64? on: April 26, 2013, 02:25:10 PM
I use same type, but not same brand.
However, you should be able to run different classes of cards, example, 5xxx, 6xxx, and 7xxx all in one machine.
230  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: is anyone able to run 6x 7950 on win7 64? on: April 26, 2013, 02:17:06 PM
yes, you can run 6 GPU cores in Win7.
I don't know about the error you are getting though.
Used 13.1, and no issues.
231  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon batch [2] countdown! on: April 26, 2013, 02:13:31 PM
My Feb 3 order is also still missing from the orders page. Walletbit confirmed that they (Avalon) have the BTC and my correct shipping address so I am not really concerned.

However I don't know what my order id is ... just the txid and walletbit batch reference.
Where do you find the "order page"? I am having problems...
232  Economy / Exchanges / Re: BEWARE OKPAY bank wires on: April 26, 2013, 01:53:56 PM
As of now, still no explanantion of 9% fee.
So, for those wiring from USA, just know that you will be hit with a 9% fee instead of their stated 2% or $20 max fee.
233  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I don't know what to do, any advice? on: April 25, 2013, 08:28:34 PM
I got enough litecoin to dump on a 7950 this will jump my hash rate from 871khash/s to 1471-1521khash/s, or should I hold my ltc?

Seriously.
What do you guys think? Hold or dump?

I think LTC mining is going to be extremely profitable. I'd buy a card, but I'd go for the 7970.

Don't listen to this guy, 7950 all the way.  I'll lay it out for you and show why serious miners do 7950.

7970 gets 750 according to crypto. Most people get less however.

7950 gets 650 though most get less.

Both can get the high numbers with much testing and work.

Based off of top end numbers:

7970 = $400 = 1.875 h/s/$
7950 = $290 = 2.24 h/s/$

per card, yes, but you get something like 3h/$ if you buy a 5830, would you be buying a 5830? no because there's only so many you can fit on a rig, before you have to buy another set of mobo/ram/cpu etc.. The card that give bigger hash per PCIE slot does have its advantages, especially if space is of concern.

6 7950 per computer vs 6 7970 per computer the 7950's still come out cheaper per k/s/$
And the endless debate begins....
There are simply way too many factors that one can consider. I'd just roll the dice and pick one.
234  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][LTC][Pool][RBPPS] WeMineLTC.com | 0% FEES! | Stratum | DDoS Protection |!! on: April 25, 2013, 08:24:33 PM
Is there a way to know how much LTC EACH miner generates?
I have say 10 machines, and would like to know the amount of LTC each one generates.

Take your total estimate and divide by total hashrate, then times the hash rate of each separate worker and that will tell you what each is generating.  Or are you asking admin to implement it into the site?
What you state is an estimate. I am looking for admin to implement into the site, so the value will be accurate.

237  Economy / Exchanges / Re: BEWARE OKPAY bank wires on: April 24, 2013, 03:44:58 PM
Okpay finally replied to the 9% fee question.
Here is what they said
Quote
There are no hidden charges, however we would like to warn you that correspondent bank charges can be applied and vary and (deducted from the sent amount).

Please do not ask us to give you the exact fee for the transfer you will send as it all depends on the country and the way banking system works is that in many cases you can not calculate the amount with 100% guarantees.
If you would like to get the detailed report on the fees and transfer times associated with your recent wire withdrawal feel free to request a SWIFT confirmation (subject to fees).

Note that I paid for the $45 transfer fee from my end, so the only other fee is OKPAY's bank receiving fee.
They are saying they don't know what's the fee for them to receive funds. And if I were to request a SWIFT confirmation, they want to charge me more money for it.

In sum, they can say their bank charges them $5000 to receive a $5000 transfer, and get away with it, b/c according to them, the fees varies, and if you want a report, you would have to pay again.
Let's say the report fee is $100, so I transfer $200. They come back and say that $200 transfer have a $200 fee, and thus, not enough funds are left for the report.

This is total scam, at least for wire transfers from USA
238  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Trading between BTC-E and MT Gox on: April 23, 2013, 07:14:00 PM
How easy is it to transfer say 1 bitcoin from BTC-E to Mt Gox, sell on Gox, transfer the USD back to BTC-E, purchase a bitcoin and repeat? (The only bit I see difficulty with is transferring the USD from Gox to BTC-E)

Thank you in advance for your help!
I do it occasionally using Gox - OKpay - BTC-e when the spread gets wide enough.  The key is to have money waiting in OKpay, because sometimes there are long delays getting USD from  Gox to them (24-48 hrs when Gox doesn't have their OKpay account funded), but transferring USD from OKpay to BTC-e is instant.  It costs about 4% to do this, but when the spread is 11% like it is now, it's worth it.  (There's also the risk of placing your money with BTC-e as well, it seems to be a bit of a minefield lately.)
I don't think there is a way to transfer USD from Gox to BTC-e, or OKPAY account. At least it is not in the withdraw menu.
239  Economy / Exchanges / Re: BEWARE OKPAY bank wires on: April 23, 2013, 07:11:06 PM
Okpay replied to my ticket. But they never told me why the fee is 9%. That question is ignored even though I posted it several times on the support ticket. Funds still "frozen".
240  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Attention AMD Radeon 7950 users... on: April 23, 2013, 03:59:37 PM
16384 concurrency, 256worksize.
Gigabyte WF3, Voltage locked.

Before anyone asks, it runs those settings 24/7. i forgot to take the SS before restarting cgminer.  Roll Eyes
What about clock speeds?
