44  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon 3 release countdown on: March 17, 2014, 05:47:45 PM
Will they be selling miners or just chips?
45  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon 3 release countdown on: March 17, 2014, 10:28:38 AM
I wonder if they'll beat bitmain in price. Otherwise, why would you bother?
46  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: AntMiner S2 1TH/s Miner (1w/GH/s) on: March 14, 2014, 03:39:43 PM
Hmm...

1) Big Box
2) 1000W PSU for a 1000W Draw... Explosion in 3,2,1...
3) Pricy... 4BTC would have been a way better price
4) Still 55 nm chips

A bit disappointed. I wish bitmain stayed online to answer a couple of questions, especially on the PSU front.

1) I'm fairly certain that box is larger than 4U.  I doubt it's the production case, however I could be wrong.

2) Interested to see the actual numbers.

3) 4BTC?  5 S1's cost ~4.96BTC, have less chips and no PSU.  This ain't a charity.

4) This is no surprise.  I'd guess the next model (S3?)  Will have a smaller process node.

3) Ok, I might have been a bit aggressive with my price point.

Anyway, with the hashrate that's getting deployed this year, you better ROI fast with these because in a couple of months they won't pay your elec bill anymore.

Hi
Im interested in testing and making some adaptations to this bot.
It would be great to have the possibility of configuring an array of trading methods, each one with different weight, and execute the change in position if all signals are in the same direction or a signal level is reached.

But for some cases I need some historical data in CSV format to feed gekko and monitor the signals produced by this bot.

Where can I get historical data (let's say the last 2-weeks, grouped hourly, bitstamp BTCUSD), as displayed in bitcoinwisdom.com? Is this data accesible by any API?

Thanks!

PS: @Camille, If you're still interested in the volume filter drop me a PM and I'll sent you the modified code.

Historical data is a pain in the ass, especially on Bitstamp.

You can get some historical data here:
http://bitcoincharts.com/about/markets-api/

Or you could probably let gekko run for a while and use the 1min candlestick data it fetches?

Damn, all this philosophy in last 10-15 pages makes this thread boring  Grin

I could start talking about religion if you are tired of philosophy.   Cheesy

I'm religious but thanks, this is not the place I'd read about it  Grin

Philosophy okay, but religion ugh no!

Never received my divs with AM100 shares?

Havelock paid out AM100 divs properly, 73 satoshi per share.

Hey big spender!

Does this thread actually contain any bitcoin specific information at all any more?
Apart from a half-hearted CCMF here and there, the off-topic discussions seem to have increased by about 10000%.

I dare even say that the only thing that has a larger gain percentage-wise over time thant bitcoin itself, is the amount of off-topic discussion in this thread.
But I even now predict that off-topic discussions are a bubble. They will have a peak, and then crash towards 0 !!!! So better stop it now, before it's too late!  Grin Grin Grin

How much is known about Gen 3? 1600 PH sounds ridiculous.

I remember when IceDrill started talking about building a 500 TH/s operation when the network was 30 TH/s (and dominated by ASICMINER, mind you), that it sounded ridiculous.

The rate of increase of mining hashpower in the Bitcoin world has been absolutely ridiculous. I still can't believe that it basically doubles every month or two... have you ever stopped to really think about what that means? All of the mining hardware that was ever produced over 4 years... being produced in a single month, and then all of that combined is produced again the following month... my mind explodes thinking about it.

Yeah I know, I'm pretty frustrated about it, because I used to have a lot of fun mining with GPU's. Almost setting my attic on fire. These days it's impossible to mine as an individual, even with asics...

Well, no. If we're talking about distributing that hashrate over the course of a year, it is reasonable. And keep in mind that the whole network hashrate will be tremendously higher in a year from now.

Apart from that: Keep calm, I believe an update is just around the corner Smiley

I guess you can call it normal when network hashrate increases this high percentage wise as it has been doing. It's still hard to wrap my head around...

Do we have a guesstimate on how AM will compete in the coming year? Do we have any statements like that from other manufacturers?

Why hasn't there been a price reduction today?

Is it true that AM will deploy 1600 PH? That's just insane.
An S1 is still profitable if you buy now but I think it's game over for small time miners like us.

Where did you hear that?

I would suggest everyone to watch out today and wait for confirmation from bitmain. DNS Hijacks are nasty!
