Great post,

I would be interested in a more detailled breakdown of your sonoff solution (model, wiring, what you use for remote, and so on)

Cheers. Cool

3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: CryptoDredge — NVIDIA GPU Miner on: August 02, 2018, 04:47:32 AM

Ty for the quick answer but sadly it didn't help. I tried both cuda 9.1 & 9.2.

You probably don't have enough virtual memory, be sure you have at least as much as your GPU memory (example if you have 6x gpu that have 8gb of ram, set virtual memory to ~50gb) neoscrypt algo need it.

@cryptodrege dev

can we expect soon backup pool feature ? i like the miner it's great, thanks Smiley

Cheers.
Thanks for your help!
We are finishing work on this feature. It will be available in the next release.
Cheers!

Great to hear, keep up the good work  Cheesy

I agree that letting microsoft doing the updates even with P2P isn't perfect, and for some people it doesn't work as intended (damn m$ randomness), the method i described work for me but may not for others.

Hence why i listed other solutions like :

http://www.portableupdate.com/

You prepare the offline bundle of update you want, and you can deploy it through all your hardware with just a copy of one folder and you can even script the portableupdate exe to be silent and apply update using the windows update engine as if it was done by the internet service, it's a great tool. And you can safely disable the normal windows update from the GPO (or registry but it's the same as touching the GPO's) to not be annoyed by any unwanted update time.

Cheers.
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Win update .... on: July 23, 2018, 11:31:58 AM
There is actually already such a system in windows 10 called P2P windows updates, by default your computer can become a "hub" to update computers on your LAN, and also other computers over the internet to unload microsofts servers (you can also setup your own computer to download from microsoft + local PC + internet PC), i have setup one computer that does windows updates in my local network and is set to use P2P only for local computers, and all my others windows 10 computers on my network are set with metered connection (fake metered) so that they seek updates only from Local forbidding them to download from internet.

To complete the op answer, best is not to rely on regedit for updates, but you can use different method.

- Disabling windows update service
- Using a 3rd party tool to do your updates (like portableupdates)
- Use GPO's to disable/tweak windows updates
- Using GPO's combo with a WSUS
- Using a master computer that distribute by LAN all updates like i stated in the beginning of post

GPO's are reserved for windows pro version but im pretty sure most miners out here use windows pro.

That would be great, by the way you should change the title of the topic reflecting the new version it's still @1.3.7a Smiley also maybe post changelog in OP ?
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: excavator by NiceHash - multi-algorithm NVIDIA & AMD GPU miner [1.3.7a] on: January 30, 2018, 06:51:59 PM
Holy hell guys, you again did it,

New version (1.4.2) 9.324 MH/s on my 6x1080Ti Rigs Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked

The 1070 rigs have improved too !

6MH/s to 6.5MH/s it's still a bit under KlausT (6.7MH/s) but it's getting super close

9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Bminer: a fast Equihash miner for CUDA GPUs (5.2.0) on: January 29, 2018, 04:37:42 PM
You forgot your password in your commandline
Code:
START "Bminer: When Crypto-mining Made Fast" bminer.exe -uri %SCHEME%://%USERNAME%:%PASSWORD%@%POOL% -api 127.0.0.1:1880"

before playing with variables, test your cmdline without them....

Hey dtsm, how's the new version coming ? any approx ETA ? Will it be available in cuda 9.1 ?

keep up the good work !

Woah guys, i just installed on my 1080Ti rig the latest 390.65 nvidia drivers, and i tried the latest 1.4.1 excavator compiled in cuda9.1, you really did awesome this time guys.

Neoscrypt from 7MH to 8.4MH (6x1080Ti - 150W per card (TDP 60%) - OC  +120/+200)

Keccak from 7GH to 7.5GH (6x1080Ti - 150W per card (TDP 60%) - OC  +120/+200)

going to test out more algos, cards model

EDIT1 : no increase on good old 1070 and 1070Ti, but 1080Ti gain is huge.
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Kkmoon 2600w Dual Server PSU ATX on: January 28, 2018, 06:15:01 PM
From googling it appears these are platinum supplies.  Doesn't really bother me either way as the power cost is not really that different.  1800 watt would be the top for 120V, is that what people are comparing?

Hello guys,

Well at first glance this PSU was promising, but after a few days of testings here are the issues with it.

- Announced as 2600w psu but is only 2x1200 (2400w)
- Rated as platinium but it's obviously HP gold psu's (according to serial/model numbers) (i also compared the same system plugged on this psu, and on a normal platinium psu and the 2-3% difference are here)
- I didn't experienced it myself because i don't have a rig that can pull more than 1400W, but it was reported it can be bad to maintain power above 1800w, for a 2400w psu it's not really good.
- The overall electronic quality of the PCB isn't very good, the cabling is OK, but the rest is a kinda sloppy (for this kind of price it's not THAT bad per se)

Other than that my 1400w rig seems to have behaved properly with it. But again i was using it only @about 60% load, that's not really pushing it.

Conclusion : it's not THAT bad of a price and performance for a 1800w gold rated psu, there is plenty of connectors and such, but only for the fact they lied about the product (2600w platinum) im sending back my unit. So it's back to amazon for me sadly.

Well maybe some are plat, the one i got weren't, so it's probably lottery.

Also i use 220v electrical outlets im in europe. But again i wasn't able to check this "limit" maybe it's BS.

since 1.3.8 i noticed a drop in keccak performance (7.1GH v1.3.7a) vs (6.6GH v1.3.8+) could you take a look ? (6x1080Ti rig)

I'll take a look into this. We haven't made any changes on keccak though.

I finally had some time to look at this.

Platform: Windows
Driver version: 390.65

Excavator version: 1.3.7a_nvidia | 3456 | 2017-11-17 13:26:36
GeForce GTX 1080: speed = 1.00 GH/s, 0.00 H/s, power usage = 179.39 W

Excavator version: 1.4.1a_nvidia | 4380 | 2018-01-22 10:16:39
GeForce GTX 1080: speed = 1.00 GH/s, 0.00 H/s, power usage = 179.11 W

It looks fine. I tested it on 1080 (not 1080 Ti) though, but it shouldn't be a difference.  Which OS are you using?

I use windows 10 enterprise, lemme recheck with 1.4.1 in both cuda 8 and 9

Yeah with 1.4.1 it's back to proper numbers, thanks for publishing this Smiley

Hey Zawawa, still not in the pipe to support cmdline for your miner ? i would love to test it out, but if it's not scriptable, i can't use it  Undecided

Thanks  Grin

I just came up with an idea. I could just make the current version scriptable and call it a command-line version!
It should be pretty straight forward to implement...

Would be awesome sir, keep up the good work  Cool

1 year warranty, pretty good considering what you usually get. They accept payment with crypto not bad either.

How does it work for PSU (you can use server ones, what about ATX ones ?) ? how do you "start" the system ?
