1001  Economy / Speculation / Re: Baba Vanga's Prediction for bull market in 2021 on: February 10, 2021, 07:03:55 PM
I never trust anything from people like her or people who similar to her. He not the analysis of crypto and I think she doesn't know anything about cryptocurrency. If you want to see prediction in years, you should change your reference to people who have capability

Crystal ball readers are just good storytellers. I also don't trust such people.

In my country long ago when you wanted your story to be told you would go looking for a gypsy. At the same time if you wanted to be scammed, you'd trade with a gypsy. They always had a lot of fakes and stolen items. So why would anybody go to have their fate revealed by people who were known for scamming.

I think that all people who are making money from fortunetelling are good at reading your character and making up stories, that's all. There's nothing supernatural at play there.

Baba Vanga was more wrong than right and people still believe that she had a gift.
1002  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: It's not a good rise, actually it's bad on: February 10, 2021, 06:32:21 PM
People were buying bitcoin long before Elon became an influencer and this was a bull run before Elon bought.

If he bought XRP people would of course buy XRP but is that wrong? He's rich and smart and people follow such characters.

For me it's a great rise because he did not spread FUD, he really bought!
1003  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Vs Tesla Fight! on: February 10, 2021, 06:23:18 PM
I don't see this play out this year.

In the long run if Bitcoin survives and becomes a hedge asset for big companies it will win. If only a few big companies like Apple decided to put 1% in Bitcoin Tesla would not stand a chance.

Tesla on the other hand is still a great investment because it grows on its own. Good thing to own if you're a serious investor and have a lot of money to allocate.
1004  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: So lets talk honest now about btc on: February 07, 2021, 10:59:26 PM
Most people think about profit but profit does not only mean $$$! What matters is the value of your coins in goods that you can buy.

The real fun will begin when you can spend 1 bitcoin and buy a house without ever pricing anything in fiat or going through fiat money as the middle man.

I see bitcoin as independent money that the government can't take from me and monitor. Money that doesn't inflate and cannot be stopped from going through unlike bank transfers when a bank can refuse to process it.
1005  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will Bitcoin go up to $1000k? on: February 07, 2021, 10:14:15 PM
When some people ask if it will go to 100 thousand I always say yes but the question you should be asking is when.
With a million the more important question is if it will ever happen.

In short we can say that if Bitcoin survives for another 10 years it will be worth a lot more. Maybe even a million dollars. If its code gets broken or compromised by that time it will not reach this level.
It is really that simple.
1006  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC back to All time high ..did you buy ? on: February 07, 2021, 09:51:11 PM
I don't really care about short-term volatility and I'm no longer an active trader so I did not do anything.

I'm very happy that it went back. I was expecting a much longer and deeper correction. It's all good, another proof that we are in a strong bull market.

My strategy is to hold and sell only when I need money. Bitcoin is a great hedge against high inflation and stupid governments. I happen to live in a country where there's plenty of both Wink
1007  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: How long can this BULL run last?? on: February 07, 2021, 09:24:38 PM
Since Bitcoin went above 38 thousand it seems that its bull market is not over. We are poking at the all time high so we are going to go higher this year.

There was no sharp peak followed by a correction, there was no reversal, so it's  clearly an indicator that the trend we were in months ago is continuing.

Altcoin bull market will follow bitcoin so expect this market to drag on. Maybe for a whole year?
1008  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Acquiring bitcoin: "Buy" vs "Convert" on: February 07, 2021, 09:10:32 PM
I don't see any difference in meaning. Conversion and exchange is usually used with currencies, but not exclusively.

You can say you're going to buy some dollars which is more colloquial just like when you say you're going to make food vs prepare or cook food.

Bottom line is that both are fine.
1009  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: When This Scam Will stop?? on: February 07, 2021, 08:30:20 PM
This is very sad to say that some user bad use of coller membership and launching scam coin.
One should check these coins, their project, their total supply and their partnership before investing in it.

Everyone who bases trust on some copper membership deserves to be scammed.

What are these sob story threads?

You don't trust random people because they have some paid membership like the one Bitcoin Foundation used to give out.

Trust system is probably the only indicator you can rely on but never let it be the only thing you check out before you do business with someone.
1010  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BTC Dominance increases again and what happened to altcoin? on: February 07, 2021, 08:01:44 PM
Altcoins are doing fine but only the good ones. You should stop looking at the market as a whole and focus on the important projects.

I held ADA for a few years and this coin is doing great. ETH is good as well. I bought it 2 years ago when people were predicting that it would go lower.

At the same time I kept saying that XRP is shit and, behold, it doesn't follow the Bitcoin's bull market.
1011  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Cash Mass Adoption Plan #BITCOINCASH on: February 07, 2021, 07:45:53 PM
So basically you think that we all should work to pump Roger Ver's fork of Bitcoin?

We should invest into a fund that will work on making his coin more popular so that he can make even more money, is that it?

BCH is not a "save the world from bitcoin fees" project. It's a business for a group of people who decided they want their own coin, but instead of making their own altcoin they wanted to hijack Bitcoin and make their coin the new bitcoin.
Personally, I don't like Roger however this has nothing do to with him or the dev team that made bch.
BCH has everything to do with the team that made it because that team made it clear they consider BCH the better Bitcoin and put a lot of effort and money on the line to make people new to the crypto space think that BCH is Bitcoin.

Quote
BCH is a fork so each btc holder got the same amount of bch that they had in btc which means they did not really profit from this project.
You make it sound like they chose to be generous to bitcoin holders. This is how a fork works! Every holder gets a share so it's not like Roger and his team could do anything about it.

Quote
Plus Roger Ver is estimated to be in possession of 100k-400k BTC which means he is already a billionaire, the bch he is in possession of would only add to his net worth some millions, even if they doubled in value I doubt he would even think about selling them.

Only if he still holds it all. He could be spending a lot of his BTC to pump BCH and mine it. We don't know how much.
1012  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who are you according to Glassnode classification? on: February 06, 2021, 05:04:11 PM

I guess I'm a crab, but I'm working on becoming an octopus Cheesy

Now I envy you  Cry.

Envy people who were smart enough to buy more last year or sold their houses and bought Bitcoin like that man in 2018.

At almost any point in time you were able to become a big holder because almost once every year Bitcoin offered an opportunity to enter the market at a discount and every single time only very few people were brave enough to do it. For this reason despite bitcoin going 4x in one year you don't see many bitcoin millionaires driving their new ferraris and lambos Wink
1013  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I was left behind with btc market. on: February 06, 2021, 04:50:45 PM
Hmmpp..I am interested to know what could happen to bitcoin. There are really great surprises ahead and that could be mean that btc could go in just a short period of time having 100K $ per btc. It would be possible and we all know of that.

That's what all of us would like to know!

You can look at technical analysis and it shows we are in a bull market and about to break the all time high.

You can look at fundamentals and see the mainstream is becoming interested and big companies are investing.

It all looks good but it doesn't mean we can't break to the downside because at some point we will. Invest, but be aware of the risk.
1014  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Bitcoin vs eth on: February 05, 2021, 10:56:12 PM
It's funny that in the beginning of the thread people are saying that OP is too late to buy ETH because "the market is dumping" Cheesy It was only a few weeks ago and you can see how quickly things can change.

The cheapest way to exchange BTC to ETH is a coin swap feature available on some exchanges like coinbase. It allows you to turn one balance into another without fees.

Of course I wouldn't recommend going from BTC to ETH now because I feel like BTC is only waiting to explode again and ETH gained a lot in the last 2 weeks, so it could correct when Bitcoin starts to move above 40 thousand.
1015  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ETH made me very Angry today on: February 05, 2021, 10:26:17 PM
Sorry to hear that OP. On one hand you can check the fee before deciding to transact but on the other if the system allows you to adjust the fee and you made it about half of what was required the transaction should still be processed instead of being cancelled. That's strange that it took your money without eventually going through, especially with the fee paid by you being already high. Maybe if you paid 1% of the suggested fee, but you paid 50.

i was so fucking mad, in fact, if i knew where vitalik was, i would have called security men to have him arrested

They'd probably charge you more than the ETH fee Cheesy
Ask him on twitter to pay the fee for you because his invention made you poor.

1016  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: When sell holding alt coin in profit? on: February 05, 2021, 10:02:05 PM
When should long-held alt coins be sold? When to sell even when we are in profit?

The point of investing and trading is not to break even but make money. If you're breaking even you're losing money, even if you don't see it on paper because you are wasting time and time is money.

It's up to you what profit you see as high enough. For a big investor 2% is going to be a good profit because they often invest 20 million dollars or more so that's 4 million made on 1 transaction.

1018  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is it wise to set nightly stop limit sell orders before you go to bed? on: February 05, 2021, 08:31:50 PM
I have woken up to some surprises some good some bad. If you are day trading and not planning on going long but are actively trading daily,
If you're shorting Bitcoin you are going to keep waking up to some surprises over the next few months Wink

I'm not joking. You are shorting an asset in a bull market, going against the trend. Good luck to you, you're gonna need it.

Quote
before you go to bed each night should you put some stop limit sell orders in just incase it crashes over night especially when we have seen the price double this month, meaning it could go back down to 15k btc quite quickly,

At this point thinking about BTC at 15 thousand is more or less like when those shorters in 2020 at 5000 were hoping it would crash to 1000.

You're lacking fundamental knowledge. For us to go to 15 we would first need to go through a trend reversal. If you're watching the market every day you're going to see it happening. It's not going to go from 30000 to 15000 in 1 night.
1019  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoin Crash? on: February 05, 2021, 08:11:21 PM
It can and it will.

Bitcoin always goes through cycles and these cycles aren't going to stop just because institutions have invested. These cycles are there because people always overbuy and oversell and go from greed into fear and back into greed.

In this cycle we are still between the lowest and the highest point so it's too early for a crash but it will happen. Maybe at 50 thousand, maybe at 100, we'll see.

1020  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: This is what mass adoption looks like. on: February 05, 2021, 12:12:15 AM
This is exactly how adoption looks like. If that guy had a store near my place I'd drop in for groceries and a little chat.
A bitcoiner will always find something to talk about with another bitcoiner.

Hoping they will disregard XRP  Cheesy (kidding).

Why are you kidding? It's a serious matter. Centralized shitcoins should die. Tongue
