861  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Bitcoin hashrate reached a new record on: April 06, 2021, 05:25:39 PM
CryptoQuant CEO says miners continue to collect bitcoins and do not intend to cash out their deposits:

If miners aren't selling, hedge funds and companies like Tesla are buying, then who is selling?
We should be climbing higher but we are staying in pretty much the same level we were since early March.

This is great news again but I hope it influences the price because miners hoarding should mean coins that aren't available for buying which means less supply. If the demand remains high and supply is getting low, the price should explode. If it doesn't maybe the demand isn't as high as we are told, or most miners aren't really hoarding.

I have no doubts about bitcoin just feel like some of these articles are trying to push bullishness down our throats. Grin

862  Economy / Speculation / Re: How low could the next bear market move bitcoin? on: April 06, 2021, 04:33:29 PM
For a bull market to start we need a sharp rejection from the top. We haven't seen it this cycle.

If a price can stabilize for a week at a level right below the top it's not a sign of a coming bear. It's a sign that we're still in the same bull market we were a month ago.

We could go back to 20 thousand but I think pretty much like OP, that we'll have to see a new high first at maybe 80 or 100 thousand.
863  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Marvel featuring Bitcoin!!😀 on: April 04, 2021, 11:48:47 PM
Wow, that's some nice free promotion but it's nothing more than that to be honest. I am a Marvel fan too and yeah it feels good to have bitcoin featured by them.
But they probably did it just because of the bitcoin hype in the market due to it's massive increase in price.
It would be good to see if Marvel introduces more of bitcoin rather than just a text message.

It sure is and it's things like that, ads that feature popular characters, movies and celebrities are the ones that stay in people's minds and get remembered by association.

Especially young people will see this and remember the bitcoin sign. It may not turn into sales because young people usually don't have a lot of money and they don't run to an exchange to buy some coins but they'll have that thought in the back of their heads and this is important.
864  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: About 20% of all Bitcoin (BTC) in circulation was lost – Study shows on: April 04, 2021, 11:08:52 PM
Burning is always a bad idea because you're estimating that those coins are lost and making a centralized decision about something that could be someone's life savings.

Estimations like this 20% will always be largely off because you can't really say how many addresses are inactive because people lost access to them or died and how many of them are purposely held or held by people who temporarily lost access but in time will remember their passwords or come out of a coma or something and want their money back.
865  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If You Buy btc Today and cash out one year on: April 04, 2021, 10:24:46 PM
Yes but now I need cash to buy food Smiley
But btc is just digital gold and ETH are the blockchain for new dgital money.
ETH are pretty much new Central bank with DEFI.
Btc just the digital gold

If you don't have income and have to use your savings to buy food then it's a different story. Most people have at least minimum income that allows them to survive, so people like you who rely only on their crypto investment to survive are going to be in a minority.

Did you just call a decentralized cryptocurrency like ETH a central bank and bitcoin "just digital gold"? You don't know what you're talking about.
866  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC was a lifetime chance and I don't think we will see a similar opportunity on: April 03, 2021, 11:52:46 PM
Let's start by saying that Bitcoin still is a lifetime chance. It's not over yet, but it's not the only one out there.

We had similar opportunities in stocks years before Bitcoin.
One of them were oil companies, then IBM then Microsoft and Apple, then Google, Amazon and Tesla.

There are going to be opportunities after Bitcoin. You can be sure of it!

867  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Newbie finding his way around crypto investment on: April 03, 2021, 10:28:39 PM
It doesn't matter how much you have but how much you're willing to risk.

If you say you have 1200 but re willing to risk only 200, you should begin the thread with I have 200. The money you invest is the money you risk. No risk means no investment.

I'd say go for it, but if you have money and no bitcoin, my answer will always be get bitcoin wigh half of your money and then try to get some alts.
868  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why do people care who Satoshi is/was? on: April 01, 2021, 11:28:17 PM
The answer is simple because Satoshi Nakamoto is the creator of Bitcoin, therefore a lot of people are curious about who is the person who
was so smart at creating Bitcoin. Moreover, Bitcoin made a new breakthrough in the world of finance by providing alternative financial transactions
without involving Banks. Not to mention Bitcoin whose price is getting higher, for all these reasons, it is very natural that many people are curious
about the identity of Satoshi Nakamoto.

Being curious is not really caring who he is.

Like I want to know who he is out of pure curiosity but he could be whoever he wants and It would not change my mind about bitcoin. You must be curious how much money your neighbors have but do you care? Probably not because it doesn't really matter. It doesn't change your life or anything. Knowing Satoshi's identity also wouldn't.
869  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I tried to tell him just HODL bitcoin, don't make this hard. on: April 01, 2021, 10:01:08 PM
You can try not to be like him and never buy shitcoins in the first place Cheesy

I also know many people who did like OP's friend and sold bitcoin to buy shitcoins or sold shitcoins to short bitcoin. It's a risky move for sure. Much more risky than hoilding bitcoin or just exiting into fiat if the volatility begins to scare you.

Investing in bitcoin is already a risk and you can only increase it by buying altcoins thinking that they can bring you more profit because they are cheaper. It doesn't work like that. If cheap coins were the best bitcoin wouldn't have the highest market cap and be the most popular. Cheap does not mean good or profitable.
870  Economy / Economics / Re: 10 reasons for bitcoin to prosper on: April 01, 2021, 09:55:46 PM
Well not 10 but 11 reasons, round numbers seem to look better))))

The cult of round numbers strikes again Cheesy

]

But only 1 word for Bitcoin to die, "Government".

That is no more possible. The government can't stop bitcoin. If you know what value bitcoin has. The privacy and freedom from bitcoin makes it uncontrollable. So you don't think any governance or legislation can stop it.

That's correct. A single government can stop bitcoin within its borders, but it woin't stop it globally.

You could say that all governments together can stop it on a global scale but it will never happen as it has never happened before in the history of the world. If it's impossible for governments to unite and fight drugs it will be impossible for them to do the same with bitcoin.
871  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If You Buy btc Today and cash out one year on: April 01, 2021, 08:50:43 PM
Well you Can cash out but not all.

Why would I cash out anything?

Bitcoin is not a means to an end. It's the end!

The moment you realize that you don't need the middle man with bitcoin is the moment you start to use it the way it was meant to be used.

You start using it not a a speculative tool but money.
872  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: if btc is in a bear market, can some alts still moon ? on: April 01, 2021, 08:33:05 PM
It is possible because early on, when bitcoin is still high in value, people feel like it doesn't have the power to go much higher anymore but altcoins do so they spend their bitcoins to buy altcoins and pump these altcoins.

This is like a self-fulfilling prophecy where you feel like something is going to happen and unwillingly move towards that thing, making it happen.

If altcoins moon while bitcoin is falling you should know that it's not going to last.
873  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Time to sell my BTC? on: April 01, 2021, 07:59:46 PM
Just my thoughts but you better hodl it. If you bought it at 9000 you won't gonna lose anything, but i bet btc will grow more, sell it at least at 100k.

Does that mean that you think that people who bought at 10 thousand will lose some money? Cheesy

We are not going back to 10! I fail to understand why for some of you 10 is such a magic number. How about 12, 14 or 20? They were all important levels at some point

I don't think we'll see sub 20 unless the US economy enters its own bull run.
874  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If You Buy btc Today and cash out one year on: April 01, 2021, 07:38:45 PM
Just but it and sell it only When its higher price.
Hold 2 years and Don't watch news.

You're all treating bitcoin like it's a step to get more fiat money when it's not.

You really become rich when you realize that bitcoin is a way to get more value in real life goods and not in inflationary fiat money.

The real smart move is to never cash out. I'm serious.
875  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and crypto are Same like casino slots on: April 01, 2021, 01:32:57 AM
I don't feel like I lose anything on my investment.

I can tell you how I did it OP. Some time after buying it I got tired of trading and decided not to check the price anymore. I knew what the price was more or less from press articles but I did not check it every day. Sometimes once a week, sometimes once every 10 days.

After a few months my investment was worth more. Next year it was worth even more. Next year more than last year and so on. You feel like you're gambling because you're checking it daily and reacting to every pump and dump. Set charts to 1w and you'll see that it goes only one way.
876  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: the true 1st utility of bitcoin was destroy the economy?Elon Musk + Satoshi on: April 01, 2021, 01:11:32 AM

( like satoshi wasn t japanese like he said cause his english were perfect and he write in British english and japanese learn American english at school
So, there's no way a native Japanese would get a scholarship in Great Britain and learn English there? There's no way someone who learned American English as a child but then worked for 20 years in the UK would switch to using British English, right?

There are also no people who have mixed race parents and a kid whose a parent is British wouldn't learn English from him, and use a Japanese name Satoshi Nakamoto because it represented some of his heritage?

, when you analyse the modification of sourceforge you can see his activity time

His activity time has to show his time zone because there are no people who have jobs and families that leave him with late evenings or nights to play around. There are no people who just like to stay up late, no people with insomnia.

These theories about Satoshi are funny and the one with Musk is as probable as the one where it's Dorian Nakamoto Cheesy
877  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2021-03-30] Chipotle plans to give away $100,000 in both Bitcoin and free food on: March 31, 2021, 11:01:28 PM
I might be the only person who is more excited about winning the free food than winning the bitcoin hehehe. It also appears that bitcoin is becoming as a type of marketing device. Might it be an indicator that we are nearing all time high?

Bitcoin has been a marketing device for some time now.

Do you remember all these companies like overstock who got a boost in sales when they added bitcoin payments?

Do you remember how Mcafee became famous again for talking about bitcoin and then he used that fame to pump shitcoins for money?

I'd be excited about the food too if only I had a Chipotle in my town.  Grin
878  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC was a lifetime chance and I don't think we will see a similar opportunity on: March 31, 2021, 09:31:48 PM
We are all early adopters of bitcoin even if we are not in era of bitcoin airdrop but we still meet it early development and most of those that received bitcoin airdrop may have sold it when it got to $0.50 that is a long time ago.

You are right. We are all early in the game and being early does not guarantee big profit.

There are screenshots of people's tweets and posts about how they sold their coins when they reached 3x or 5x profit on their sub $10 bitcoin investment. Would you rather be one of those people OP?

I'd prefer to have joined in 2019 and held than in 2010 and sold after a year.
879  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What Is the Best Stable Coin for Saving? on: March 31, 2021, 09:00:33 PM
I will use something like AAVE or Blockfi to get interest on these dollar begged coins but I'm clueless as to which one should I go for? USDC seems to be a great option but a few questions come to mind:

Do you mean pegged? It came out pretty funny anyway.

I wouldn't trust stablecoins enough to try to hold them for a long time and expect big profit. I'd especially stay away from USDt.

Remember that despite being pegged which means they're following fiat prices they are still cryptocurrencies and as those they depend on the whole market. They can stand certain amount of volatility but if the crypto boom ends somehow it will also crash stablecoins. I'd rather choose bitcoin or a decentralized privacy coin than a stablecoin for long term holding.
880  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin halal? on: March 31, 2021, 08:43:33 PM
However, gambling, lending, and some kinds of trading with cryptocurrency are almost certainly forbidden.

Then don't gamble, lend and trade for profit.

It's hard for me to believe that all those rich Muslims who bathe in oil money don't ever invest in stocks or trade fiat currencies. They do and they don't think it's something against their religion.

Also, many things are forbidden in many religions and people still do them and later pray a bit, apologize, confess and keep on living. Rules are made by people and people can break them.
