It's strange how every time when the price comes around 6000$ speculations about price going down under 5000$ begin. Everthing is possible, I don't say but to my opinion curently market doesn't seem like falling deeper down. Actualy I would say that price will stay somwhere between 6000$ and 7000$ for a while.
well I had posted this when it was $8,600 to $8,700. I hope it does stay around 6k to 7k but that news out of India isnt going to help

It's funny and unique, when a lot of people are busy talking about bitcoin going down without any apparent reason. fundamentally important but technically just a formula. many arguments speculate that bitcoin drops due to over-priced miner transactions and many investors use altcoin and many other reasons. give me a reason if bitcoin goes down, then it will rise again?
I posted the reasons just now but as for rise, BTC needs another sizable government/country to accept it as a legal asset. It is still king and the whole market is effected by its rise and fall currently. FOMO is over for now until there is a reason to rise.

That's your individual assessment and you are free to express it, but you dont have basis for this claim and that weakens your argument. BTC will still go places
No basis for my claim ? how about 1. weakness in the market 2. slow adoption from countires 3. on a three month downtrend 4. The new has wore off so to speak, everyone that wanted in is in now and has a crypto account or two 5. cost of mining vs other store of value

Have to rely on you Casascius collectors, the photos in the Encyclopedia are not high resolution. I stay away from eBay never bought a collectible there. @Kialara says he will auction two Ruby Labyrinths on eBay though that should be fun to follow.
I bought a few silvers there graded which eliminates fakes plus you can get scammed anywhere, knowing and or seeing your sellers past reputation helps too. I was wondering when these cas fakes might start showing up, happens in every market. Morgan Dollars and China Kwangtung silver Dragon dollar have been the ones I dealt with mostly as fakes. You get where you can tell a fake in a sec after a while.. just a different look along with less detail.

I heard a news that bitcoin mining cost 4700$ per bitcoin so bitcoin down 5000$ below they stop bitcoin mining. So i think bitcoin price stable on 6000 or above and get any positive news it will be 10000$+.Nowadays most of the investor was disappointed who brought 19000$ per bitcoin.
Hate to say it but the downfall of BTC could wind up being proof of work cost

Yes. Its going down. More than 5k. We are gonna hit 1-2k. Get your money into fiat asap. Even professional traders are recommending this.
Make sure you do understand all of the price manipulation going on. There are many upper hands involved right now. The market needs to basically bottom to near $0 and reset with proper rules and regulations.
actually I am a professional trader but I wont give advise just opinions and let people take it from there

Economy / Collectibles / Re: Collectibles have been holding out pretty well against bitcion downtrend

Even if bitcoin ended at $5k at the end of the year that is a great long term trend. Remember 2014 - 2016 and where we are at now. I think as more people get into bitcoin itself which they have, than i think the collectable market can only grow.
I agree I mention that all the time to people now, $5k is a major psych support area but thats still huge compared to the last couple years as an investment. Just need the new people to stay in long term now. In the beginning of 2017 if you told me we'd be at $2,500 i would have signed up for it 10 out of 10 times. The doom and gloom is caused by the volitility but if you've been through enough market ups and downs its easier to see the long term trends, not so much for people who jumped in. But you can equate it to the people who jumped in on the rise to $1,000 in 2013 *raises hands* and walked it all the way down to under $175. In a time when outlook was bleek the strong got rewarded. We are in a MUCH more stable place than 2015 so i am fine with this downtrend. Lets me buy more. haha yep I have another buy area in mind and then maybe scale in more after that. This is way different than the stock market however which I have more than 25 years in

Economy / Collectibles / Collectibles have been holding out pretty well against bitcion downtrend

The overall crypto market has been in a downtrend for three months. I noticed the collectibles held pretty strong for most of it but starting to show some weakness now. The influx of new exchange account holders ( the main stream) is over, Its obviously slowed and lost investors recently.
There will always be a market for collectibles however but just like others ( BB cards, comics, figurines etc) they will rise and fall with demand. Loaded BTC collectibles are tied to a unique asset price as well which also has a great deal of effect on total value up or down.
BTC needs a reason to start trending up again or we may see $5k again. I think this just wont happen until another large economic power like Japan fully adopts its use. Anyone have opinions on where 2018 ends with BTC and collectibles considering the last few months?

IMO BTC is going to continue to trend down and settle around a range of $4,500 to $5,500 at a new psych level. Reasons are slow adoption world wide from other countries than Japan and growing competition from alts.
Why are you scare if that will happen. That is the good time to buy more bitcoin if the price reached the 5k mark, slow addoptions and regulation about bitcoin has a huge impact to its value, the only thing we can do right now is to hold and believed in bitcoin. Never said I was scared lol, I sold out of all crypto when BTC was 12's thus capturing profits. Bitcoin has dropped another $2k from $8,700 since I made this post just a week ago. I mentioned a psych level of 5k because that is the only thing I see that could slow this downtrend. If it doesn't hold $4,500 ( bounce off of) for more than a week there could be another collapse to $2,500 area from fear. Many used technical analysis thinking it was rebounding off of $8,500 well that was a big loss for them if they bought in proving once again TA is a load of crapp sucking in the hopelessly optimistic just like the stock market. Like I stated previously the whole market wont be going up until there is a reason to go up ( a reason for big money to invest). I love crypto and believe in its future strongly but when the train is coming off the tracks I move on.

Those alts are going to be shut down with time. Recently 82 coins were closed as no one showed interests in these. I think we will have only 102-20 coins finally and all of them will have some unique aspects. Bitcoin will still rule for next 10-20 years. yep I think 80% will die off and the cream of the crop will fill niches from hard work, need and perseverance building a reputation. A question was brought up to me a while back that is really interesting. It would take a techie like Lee to answer maybe I should ask him some time. But it was, just as we have forks from a block BCH from BTC as an example... is it possible the tech from the forks could be consolidated back into the original chain in the future ?
