Got it. Thank you for your efforts in this matter. Smiley

No funds received yet. Would like an update, please.

Have three wallets, each with a relatively small number of bitcoins -- all showed the correct balance, and I confirmed all of them.

Assuming payments go out Friday, as scheduled, I think paymium will have done a good job with this whole process.

Assuming payments do go out Friday, I will not have been disappointed with my experience, and will be open to trying paymium services and products in the future.

It's only natural for people to feel on edge, in such a situation, but I feel the steps taken in the claims process have been reasonable, and so far, in my opinion, well implemented.

Could simply mean that weak security was good enough when btc weren't so expensive, but now the instawallet model won't work. Trying to put a positive spin on this ... I'd hate to believe paymium is intentionally swindling people. If they were, there would be hell to pay.

I thought I fulfilled the requirements to post in the main forum -- apparently not Wink. Help?

How do I sign a crypto message using bitcoin-QT? Is it possible?

Nevermind, I figured it out.

Alright, thanks for the info fellas.

This may sound stupid but am I understanding this correctly in that the mining of bitcoins is actually people doing work on the growing of the block chains' and are rewarded BTC for an amount of work performed.

If that is correct who is the agency responsible for the reward?

My understanding: all clients know the public key for the new block reward. Successfully mining a new block means getting the private key. At that point, all clients recognize that you own the new btc -- whatever quantity is the current block reward.

More knowledgeable people can correct me if I'm wrong.

Noob question 2:  If you buy 100BTC or 2BTC or 1 BTC would in any of these scenarios you only obtain one private key, or would you receive 100 keys in the first case.

My understanding: Every client in the world knows that your address owns X number of btc. The fact that you have the private key for that address proves to everyone that you have the right to send btc from that address, up to the total amount stored in that address.

Again, more knowledgeable people can correct me if I'm wrong.

Those are satoshis.

I think that if you tell someone you're sending them ten megasatoshis instead of 1 btc they might look at you a little funny.

It does kind of sound cooler though.

Well, unless you're buying from friends. I'm fortunate to live near lots of btc users, and multiple retail outlets which accept it.

Makes sense.

I find myself wondering what to post about on the newbie forum, however, given that all of people's questions about btc seem to be answered quite adequately.

I'm a btc supporter. I've got some on instawallet -- more than I should have, in retrospect, but the price went up so fast, that acceptable risk became unacceptable risk very quickly. A couple of my family members do too, since I used instawallet to introduce them to btc. I'm appreciative of their efforts to secure their deposits, and return them to account holders -- needless to say, this process going well is important to many people's overall impression of btc (including my family's).
