1  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: A bit of advice please. I just double-spent. on: November 19, 2013, 01:03:22 PM

My best guess is that I need to wait until the first one is knocked off, then the other one should not show as a double. Am I right in thinking that?
2  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: A bit of advice please. I just double-spent. on: November 19, 2013, 11:19:00 AM
Never mind. I just read that I need to delete again and wait a few days.

EDIT : Oh wait, I can't. I deleted the transactions again and performed a re-scan. It seems the double-send (2nd one) won't delete.

I better just wait it out and hope for the best.

EDIT AGAIN : I am very very confused now with everything I have read. Could someone please help me to understand what happens now?
3  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / A bit of advice please. I just double-spent. on: November 19, 2013, 11:00:22 AM
Hi all,

Yesterday at 1:49pm GMT, I sent 1BTC to localbitcoins. Sadly, I accidentally sent without a transaction fee. As such, it kept getting pushed further and further back in the queue.

Anyway, I read about pywallet, so I followed the guide to clear the transaction from my wallet, and then performed a rescan. Of course, I got the BTC back in my wallet and sent again with the tx fee.

This time, however, blockchain says :

Warning! this transaction is a double spend of XXXXXXXX. You should be extremely careful when trusting any transactions to/from this sender.

Estimated Confirmation Time    Possibly Never (queue position 86)

(and the other one is queue position 4860)

Does anyone know how long this situation will take to resolve itself? It's a weird one.

Thanks

5  Economy / Goods / PC Specialist Vortex III (Incredible Spec Dec 2012) Gaming Laptop on: June 25, 2013, 11:33:35 AM
Due to me getting a brand new MBP 15 Retina from work and already having a gaming PC, I no longer have a use for my monster of a laptop.

First of all, it's only just over 6 months old. Ordered early December 2012 and received mid-late December. That means it's still under full manufacturer's warranty with PC Specialist in the UK.

For those that don't know, it's Clevo based. P170EM to be specific.

I had it custom built for around £1700, but of course, laptops devalue pretty quickly. That being said, it is still their current spec, so it will literally consume any game you throw at it, with pretty damn high settings at 1080p. Believe me, I've played and completed Crysis 3, Bioshock Infinite, and much more on high settings with this thing.

Now for the spec :

- Intel Core i7 3740QM (2.7-3.6Ghz) CPU
- 16gb DDR3 1600Mhz RAM
- Nvidia GeForce 680M GPU
- 240gb SSD (OS Drive)
- 750gb 7200RPM (Secondary Drive)
- 17.3" Matte screen (1920x1080)
- DVD RW
- Killer WiFi
- Windows 8

It's a really good spec, and as I say, it cost me over £1600 just 6 months ago. As such, no ridiculous offers please.

I am looking for offers as close to £1000 as I can get in BTC, LTC or GBP (Paypal/transfer).

8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN][REC] Officail Website of REC - http://www.realcoin.org on: June 12, 2013, 12:11:46 PM
Sorry to say, but it looks garbage. Here's why :

- Ugly banner at the top with a white background. What were you thinking? The site background is a very pale grey. At least use a transparent background png for the banner.

- Plain red text logo at the top. Zero effort has gone into that. No thought whatsoever. Why red? Nothing else on the site is red. Do you want people thinking you don't care about it? Come on, really.

- Realcoin logo in top left stretched vertically slightly.

- Your jquery slider is one of the ugliest things I have ever seen. Why on earth would you put such a horribly stretched image in there?

- The grey icons are all links. I suspect this is a wordpress template and you've just linked them all back to the home page. Maybe remove their link functionality.

Fix all these design issues and you have yourselves a nice site.

These new coins are becoming even more of a joke. So lets summarise :

- 30 second block time, 3 confirmations. Lol.
- 1,076,000 PREMINED (That's over a million coins)

Yet more worthless crap that doesn't even deserve the attention of the community. Please stop this.

15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Good bye LTC? on: May 31, 2013, 03:51:59 PM
how do people make money?

think wisely and buy when everyone else panic and dumps

Wow, a sensible response.

Why is LTC crashing at the moment? Simple.

Its value rocketed up along with Bitcoin's a couple of months ago, and since then, a lot of people have bought in to what was Gox rumour at the time. After Gox announced that they would be implementing LTC in the future on an official press release, rumours started flying around that Gox weren't ever going to implement LTC.

So what have we learned? People are more interested in baseless rumour and speculation than facts and official announcements. That's frightening in itself.

I view this (if not today, when it levels out) as the perfect time to buy LTC. LTC is not dead, it's just getting started.

The name and logo of Powercoin make me laugh, so I'm going to say Powercoin. It's just too much of a joke to be taken seriously.

I'm not 'related' to devcoin, but I have posted there and probably asked similar questions to those you have, so feel free to ask here or via pm and I'll try to answer

That's be great, thank you. I'll ask you a few questions later if you don't mind.
