21  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Binance delists BitcoinSV for Craig Wright pretending to be satoshi! on: April 18, 2019, 04:27:52 AM
Serves them right!

Now let's vote on the Kraken Poll! Delist SV https://twitter.com/krakenfx/status/1117828361269571586
Voted Yes of course  Grin

I believe this crowd pressure worked! Kraken decided to delist Bitcoin SV and now Craig Wright is totally screwed. Unfortunately, some investors too. But I hope community doesn't let him drive the price of all cryptos down once again.
22  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: HOW to successfuly participate in an IEO? Initial exchange offering on: April 18, 2019, 04:15:52 AM
That's why people make 3x or 10x, because almost nobody can join those IEOs. I just want you to know that these IEOs will cost you a lot to make money, because you will need expensive bots.
23  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Its now official: Kraken is delisting BSV on: April 18, 2019, 04:03:56 AM
All this drama could affect the whole market. Last time this guy created a drama and a hashrate war, we saw a big decrease in bitcoin and altcoin values. He should be stopped by the community.
24  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Know when to stop a HODL/HOLD on: April 18, 2019, 04:02:25 AM
It is plain simple in my opinion: you should just keep HODLing. Prices are going up more and more year over year. This is just the beginning. Do as I say and you'll be happy.
25  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Steem pyramid scheme revealed on: April 18, 2019, 04:01:19 AM
No big pyramid (Ponzi) scheme lasts for 3 years. Of course, Steem is not a pyramid scheme. If it were a pyramid scheme, the value of STEEM would have gone to 0 in one or two years, and we are already starting the fourth year.
26  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The Impacts of IEOs on the crypto-ecosystem on: April 16, 2019, 10:11:01 PM
IEO which in full means initial exchange offering is not a new topic in the crypto eco-system. Long before Binance Launchpad, several projects have taken that path to raise funds for there project by offering the native currency of their platform to traders on exchange. I remember observing a few on mercatox some years back. It was definitely no big deal as at that. Today IEO has become a menacing rave in the crypto-space owing to the fact that majority of the ICO in time past have failed to list on reputable exchange for investors. regardless of the hype and uniqueness of a project,  securing reputable exchange with good trade volume is key to the liquidity of digital assets and sad to say it today's crypto investors don't want to wait for products. They rather sell the hype than wait for the long term yield that will accompany this project gaining real-life application.
The impact of this IEO model proposes three debilitating factors on the blockchain community.

1. Lack of widespread distribution of nodes and monopolization of the. Today's IEO model literally plays into the hands of whales. With the likes of bittrex favoring high purchase by a single user. It's not hard to see whales controlling the valuation of these upcoming projects cryptocurrency on exchange. Asides from prices, centralization of nodes can be dangerous as it can lead to treats on the network with respect to mining. A Single-user acquiring a subset of the network can be catastrophic.

2. The IEO mechanism does not truly favor long term growth of this project. Now it's important to note that the majority of these coins sold on exchange are bought not by investors but by traders who actively trade on exchange. Majority of this traders do not no a thing about this project and will dump at the slightest profit or in the face of the slightest loss. Some might say it's part of the market cycle. Weak hands selling to stronger traders but it's key to note that community is very important in crypto compared to other market and it's almost impossible to build suck around traders who do not care or look towards the success of this project.

3. This exchange is also doing too little to protect the interest of participants who take part in these IEOs. In my opinion, it shouldn't just be about raising funds and meeting Hardcaps. These exchange should take up more roles. Some examples I picked up from the Pledgecamp project concept includes. Strategic disbursements of funds raised during these IEO events based on achievements of milestones, certification and other pre-agreed terms all design to ensure this project doesn't just bail off with people's money or fail to develop products that can attract value to the native currency.

In conclusion, a lot more tinkering needs to be done in order for IEOs to continue to flourish and promote the growth of the blockchain community. If steps aren't taken to prevent these impacts, we might see the IEO trend failing just like the majority of ICOs have failed.

I understand your point of view but I believe exchanges are just playing a small role in this ecosystem. ICOs or IEOs are basically the same thing, but exchanges are also in between in IEOs. That's the only difference.
27  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why are you still hodling that shitcoin? on: April 16, 2019, 10:08:53 PM
There are some tokens in my ethereum wallet that have lost value to the extent I don't think they can ever recover even if the bull market starts tomorrow due to the level of competition in the altcoin market. I also bought some coins but can't remember the password or name of exchange i bought them on (thinking it was cryptopia) I didn't bother transferring it off the exchange and most of them were bought around 1satoshi.

Back to my ethereum wallet, each time I see those worthless token I just laugh and continue with what I login my wallet to do. If you ask me why I'm still holding does tokens in my wallet I can't give a reply. Why are you still holding those shitcoins sorry altcoin

What you may call shitcoin I call goldcoin at the price of shitcoin. So this is my ticket to be rich. I will not sell it for a few bucks. No! That's why I hodl!
28  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Be aware of the new exchange's IEO! on: April 16, 2019, 09:58:57 PM
So, IEO is the recent trending topic in the crypto industry! People are very excited about IEOs, because, after a long time, IEO investors made a huge profit from it! But there is a problem too. By seeing the big hype and success of Binance IEO, many new exchanges are coming with their IEO sale! Therefore many low-grade exchanges are bringing IEO sale either! Do you think all those IEOs are worthy to invest? Hell no! Don't fall in the scam, don't be greedy! Most of the new exchange, low exchanges offerings IEO is nothing but a pure scam, they failed to raise money from the ICO sale, so they come in IEO to scam people again who don't like to read and research!

Even if they fail to make you rich in the near future, it doesn't mean they are a bad choice. Maybe they can make you rich in the long term!
29  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Coin merger? on: April 16, 2019, 09:57:25 PM
Guys I have one idea running in my mind. There are hundreds of coins in the market and much more are waiting for hitting the market. Some of them are have much potentiality to dominate the market and stay, but many of them cannot compete and disappear or die young age.
So in such case facing the market, what about merger? If a good coin is ready to merge with another one, are not these problems resolved? And there will be a win-to-win situation?

This idea sounds very good. However, we canot implement that because there is no "coin merger" possible in different blockchains.
30  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: We should stop promoting ICOs who ask huge money for their soft/hardcap! on: April 16, 2019, 09:55:24 PM
I think the community has already realized that USD 10 million is just too much money! Do not invest in such projects, guys! Be careful!
31  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Could Tether Bring Down Bitcoin? on: April 16, 2019, 09:54:06 PM
"Fiat-backed stablecoins are therefore rarely actual cryptocurrencies, which causes them to inherit their main characteristics and shortcomings from the centralised banking system. Ultimately, they function in the same manner as fiat, backed by what amounts to an IOU."

"There is a theory that stablecoins such as Tether have been used both to stabilise and manipulate Bitcoin’s price, especially during the 2017 Bitcoin bull run."

"What is important to remember, is that any asset may appear stable until it suddenly isn’t."

Really interesting read by crypto CEO = https://medium.com/@DDhopn/stablecoins-3b93b4f1ddc5

Tether is basically an IOU token, but if we believe they will pay, then it cannot be worth less than 1 US dollar. So chill.
32  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can New Projects compete with the established ones? on: April 16, 2019, 09:52:49 PM
Hi everyone; as I'm sure you're all aware new projects continue to flood into the crypto space at a regular pace; (my newest favorite being GRIN and Nauticus) however I am wondering if these can compete with the established projects like BTC and BNB?

https://grin-tech.org/

I feel like Grin is a much more fair playing ground than Bitcoin; with no premine and no ICO etc; and much stronger privacy (maybe better compared to monero?)

https://nauticus.exchange/

Much like Binances BNB due to trade fee reduction; but with FIAT onramping and Securities incoming.

Can newer projects make big enough waves to usurp their much older larger brethren?

Of course, new projects can compete with old and established ones because every new projects can stand on the shoulders of giants and go much further/farther
33  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: If you had $10,000 right now, which coin would you buy and hold? on: April 16, 2019, 09:50:58 PM
...for long term investment, which coin would you buy today? Why?

I would certainly buy DCT. This coin has doubled its price and is now regaining strength to climb another 100% again. Like a flag. Chart says to me: buy!
34  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why new Projects? on: April 16, 2019, 09:48:35 PM
I keep wondering why new projects are being introduced into the cryptocurrency economy and we all will agree that about 80% of these new projects either don't do well or exits as scam. I know that bounty hunters especially benefits from the introduction of a new project because it's 90% sure to run a bounty program.

But what if the new projects stopped being introduced for us to focus on the thousands of projects that is already in the crypto space and individuals or teams that genuinely wants to make a change can instead either buy all these failing projects and work on them or offer to partner with the teams of the failing projects in a bid to recreate. I mean they could still run airdrops and bounty programs again to reintroduce their projects. Ain't nothing wrong with that right?

Just thinking aloud, don't know the repercussion of this idea, but back me up if it makes any sense

There are people who want to make money like others did and they want to be entrepreneurs, so they launch their own projects. Human nature!
35  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Am done with KYC on: April 15, 2019, 11:53:57 PM
Most of them are just lying to get your documents. Be very very careful, mate! Don't get screwed by them.
36  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Confidence in Cryptocurrency on: April 15, 2019, 11:51:55 PM
I have full confidence in the future of cryptocurrencies. Buy more while they are cheap and be happy in 5 years,
37  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: alt millionaire on the next bull run on: April 08, 2019, 11:59:54 PM
i hope to become an alt millionaire on the next bull run. if crypto adoption is here. then let their be alt millionaires. maybe i am thinking too soon. but maybe in 6 years out. it can truly be done. i have been trading. hopefully this is the true bottom and that the next road is moon shots. i been buying alt coins but not accumulating. which sucks because i have several alt coins that have 100% return in 2019.

I beliebe it will happen much before 2025. Many coins are starting to rise very quickly. DECENT for example has already doubled in a few weeks, and volume is starting to pick up.
38  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I'm buying alts now on: April 08, 2019, 11:58:09 PM
Jus bought in alt coins. Mostly dapp coins. I have a bunch of them. And a little less in Bitcoin. At this point I can handle the losses of alts. Hopefully it doesnt go 160% losses.
Here's a few to list
Neo. Ada. Xlm. Bch. Eth. Skycoin. Strat. Lisk waves, nuls, gxchain, Komodo , etc, qtum, Tron , Eos . Ox, ontology, pivx , zilliqa, and metaverse etp.
Year 2019 will be another bear market? Hopefully not.

update
changing my alt coins. to eos, xlm, trx, eth, bch, bsv, waves, metaverse etp, skycoin, bnb, zil

Those are alt coins but they are not dapp coins. Most are blockchains, very good ones. I believe you did right and with a good timing. Congrats.
39  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What's Your Bounty Story? on: April 08, 2019, 11:57:04 PM
I was always interested in making more money because I knew it would multiply huge so I wanted to collect anything I could.
40  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are Bulls strong enough to end the bear market?? on: April 08, 2019, 11:53:23 PM
The bulls are starting to eat the bears with a bit of salt. There will be no bears to see the end of the spectacular return of crypto.
