Depending on the code you have you will have to address this soon:

If the input box will not accept more than the maximum credits or less then the minimum credits
and there is a check calculation which verifies the no of converted bitcoin is half the number of credits
then withdrawal will be impossible when the exchange rate gets to less than 0.2500

OK, So I have managed to confirm this through experiments in the past few days.

The withdrawal form will not let you withdraw over 100,000 credits.
The withdrawal form will convert the payout to satoshi and will not let you withdraw less than 25,000 satoshi (assumed to be calculated half of the minimum balance)

Therefor the premise is true: withdrawal will be impossible when the exchange rate gets to less than 0.2500 since you will need more than 100,000 credits to achieve the minimum withdrawal of 25,000 satoshi.

Hello all,

just one question.

When you are leaving the site and you hire bartender for max minutes what is the best ratio to buy between beer, wine and whiskey?

TY

It depend on where you are in the game. Work on these ratios and fine-tune from there.

Beer: one sold every minute for every five seats
Wine: one sold every 6 minutes for every five seat
Whiskey: one sold every 10 minutes for every five seats
Cigars: something like 50% chance of selling a cigar for every whiskey sold

Note that there are conditions on these but I can't remember exactly what it was since the ratios were removed from the help file when the site was upgraded many months ago. You have something like a 2 in 5 chance of selling a whiskey every time a beer is sold. so you won't always sell whiskey or wine to these proportions but you will never sell more than these.

I'd have to recode the entire site in order to achieve what you're asking.
Also, think for a second where there are withdraw limits.

I imagine most of the code revolves around the payout page (account.php). There are two points which could be addressed.

Text changes
In the withdrawal section of account.php it says you can withdraw between 50,000 and 100,000 credits. However the withdrawal formula seems to look at the mount converted to bitcoins (it refused a withdrawal of 55,000 because it was less then 25,000 bitcoins). So the text is misleading. It would be better if you said what the maximum and minimum number of bitcoins (not credits) were if that is the true acid test and is simply a matter of adding one extra sentance into that section.

Value change
I image that the code is based around the storage of one or two values. Either there are separate variables for Maximum and Minimum withdrawals or there is only one stored variable and the other is calculated. Because it's legacy code then it's likely that the value is in Credits not Bitcoin. You could set the minimum withdrawal to something like 1000 or 2000 credits which is easily made in a day or two and set the maximum to 500,000 credits which no one will ever let their balance get to. Then leave every thing else the same.

I understand this site is your lowest priority but you might be heading towards a situation where your hand is forced very soon.

But the bigger point here is, why is the limit so high or even necessary when we are transferring credits(Satoshi) from one of YOUR services to another one of YOUR services?

Your changes seem to be pretty heavily in your favor while taking a jabs at your users.

Hi Uhro,
The limits are a legacy which come from a previous owner who was struggling to keep up with payments to the players. Payments were being requested faster than his income from the ads etc so the limits came in place as a control mechanism. Had Mex not taken over the game many players would have lost up to two months worth of paying credit.
5  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: VirtualPub.io - Run your own pub/bar, serve drinks, earn bitcoin! on: June 06, 2017, 08:56:27 AM
the minimum withdrawal is 25K satoshi  ~~ around 75K credits in the game.

The problem is that the exchange rate is changing too fast. Will 25,000 credits now become an impossible achievement because your fighting against an ever increasing exchange rate?

The cash out form says you can cash out 50,000 credits so gives the wrong information because of you try to cash out 50,000 credits it now says you have to have a minimum of 25,000 satoshi.

Further, what happens when you need over 100,000 to get to 25,000 satishi? You wont be able to cash out because there will be a conflict. This is just a legacy of when Thomas owned the site.

Given that MexicanTarget owns both VirtualPub and FaucetHub, and that he allows other sites to transfer into FaucetHub really small amounts (50 sen) etc - which is the point of Faucet hub in the first place - I hope he can consider to bring Virtual Pub in line with the service he provides to other people.

I have been trying to withdraw BTC buy it tells me I have insufficuent balance However I have over 0.003 BTC and the mimimum withdrawal is 0.0002. Is there a reason why I can't withdraw?

Yeah, it's running very, very slowly here too. Just did a speed test on my pipe and it's not at this end.

Groath:

> After I click "SHOW THE EVENT" button, I must solve MellowAds captcha, sometimes two times.

The double MellowAds thing is a phenomenon of Mellow Ads and is not part of the game. It just re-opens the same page when you click on the form, much the same way that the main page of the game sometimes opens up an ad when its been freshly reloaded.

For the mellow ads click through for Event and for the Lottery it is usually there. Just click on the white space next to the Captcha to activate the onClick event and then do the captcha after that - if you do it this way then you will only need to do the captcha once.

Same for Zap when you get a lottery ticket

Quite frankly I think it's a bit rude because MellowAds seem to be trying to get double-benefit from the ads they are showing but it's not something Mex can deal with.

I'm not going to reply to any messages until I'm ready to give answers.

and when will that be? ;-)

i am the ex-owner and i can tell only one thing:

Please be patient, don't bomb this thread with errors for a while. New owner mexicantarget must review tons of code , hundreds of files and import millions of database records to the new server. So please be patient , let mex work Smiley

Tomos, Thanks for all your work and I'm really sorry it didn't work out. Hope your wife wasn't too mad about us interrupting your honeymoon.

Just one question for now - for mexicantarget - are you stopping the game until the code is reviewed or are you just migrating for now and doing the review behind the scenes?
12  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: VirtualPub.io - Run your own pub and bank bitcoin on it. on: April 04, 2017, 08:21:13 PM
It's pretty obvious what's happened here. You've moved the site but not migrated the database. Klodike... redirects to virtualpub.io. The new page has no configuration set up at all.
13  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: VirtualPub.io - Run your own pub and bank bitcoin on it. on: April 04, 2017, 08:17:07 PM
So are you going to pay me the 600,000 you owe me?

Same for me. Source code view shows <body> but no content or </body> in index.php

I like the new interface. Brilliant. If I had one request it would be to show the bartender extention options on the main dashboard, but nice sleek design and very usable interface.

I hope you didn't spend your honeymoon doing this ;-)

New error this morning:

Browser (firefox) freezes and puts up a message saying "a web page is slowing down your browser, do you want to stop it". It's happened a couple of time this morning. When I click yes and then re-load VP it goes away for a while.

By the way, it has simply stopped working on IOS Safari for a few weeks now. The page just freezes - I can't do anything at all.
18  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: NEW BTC GAME - VIRTUALPUB - Official forum on: February 06, 2017, 12:48:52 PM
and I hope not many ppl will abuse it to not click on the ads link when it's fixed  Smiley

While I get your concern it's not really abusable. You have to go to the page anyway and waiting five seconds isn't much to ask. It's more effort to manually edit the link afterwards and all Tomos needs to do is put a 4-second time requirement between clicking one URL and the other. Anyone who wants the game to be profitable will not mind waiting 5 second for it to earn it's keep.

Thanks Tomos for the temp fix. Give the B*stards one for us too!
19  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: NEW BTC GAME - VIRTUALPUB - Official forum on: February 06, 2017, 11:17:42 AM
OK, Tomos has a mechanism to force you through the short link URL, but once you've hit it then you can go manually to the next page.

First click the "Get Event" link to get to... http://klondikeunderground.xyz/VirtualPub/getevent.php
then go to http://klondikeunderground.xyz/VirtualPub/event.php

It will only work when the event timer has finished so you can't trigger it early.

Hi Tomos,

I'd like to offer you some thoughts if I may. I've been playing this game for a few weeks now and am quite enjoying it. Over the course of the past month or so I've watch you make many improvements to both the front- and back-ends. Most are good changes, however there are a few things which deserve comment:

(1) A couple of days ago I finally bought a referal. However this was someone brand new to the game. They were on level one and appear to have earned 499 soposhi and spend about half-an-hour on the site in total before giving up and going away. I'm a bit annoyed at that because I've spend a days earnings on someone who wasn't a tested user - they were simply checking it out. Can you please not offer new accounts for referral purchase. Let the the accounts mature for a while first. Maybe you should let them upgrade the Bar to level 2 before you offer them.

(2) There are too many times I click on a link (say to buy beer) and I get an ad instead. OK, I get it that you need ads to fund this but if you must show an ad can you at least them follow through with the action as well? I currently need to do a separate refresh to see if it took the action and then re-do the action if it missed. This is really annoying and will turn people off the game, see (1).

- There are too many ads in general - when I click something I get pop-overs, pup-unders, new windows and eveything else you can think of - sometimes all at once or two or three new windows of ads per click adn I find myself playing "IE Whack-a-mole". This interrupts the flow of the game and will turn people off the game, see (1). You need to find a balance between ads and useability, but at the moment it's too heavilly weighted on the ads.

- You introduced a force-login if the user changes device. I found it really convenient to have multiple devices logged in. That way I could leave my desk, pick up the iPad and keep playing while in front of the TV, or I could do an event update on my phone while I'm shopping. Now I have to log in when I pick up the iPad and then re-login when I return to my desk. What purpose does this serve? Why do you object to people using the game from a variety of different devices? From a user perspective, it's just annoying.

- There are some things which would work better on a once-per-calendar-day basis instead of 24-hours. One withdrwal per calendar day would be an improvement and the same for the daily bonus. However keeping the inventor on a 24-hour cycle works for that to because it's part of the challenge of the game.

Tomos, I think this game is great and you've put in a lot of hard work. It's got great potential and I want this to succeed as much as you do because then we can both get benefit from it. I know you need adertising revenue for it to work, but there is lots of room for improvement.
