3  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Scammed for brand new $200 Google Play Gift card on Paxful on: October 15, 2019, 10:56:28 PM
Just curious if you guys have ever read about this type of scam on Paxful being resolved in favor of the buyer before?? I can't find anything but perhaps you may have...looking for a little optimism is all...Also Google has a privacy policy on releasing any details on how, where or when a Google Play card has been redeemed. So that pretty much sums up why the vendor chose this method.
4  Economy / Scam Accusations / Scammed for brand new $200 Google Play Gift card on Paxful on: October 14, 2019, 10:30:31 PM
I'm not familiar w/privacy rules on btctalk but to start with I was blatantly scammed on Paxful by a seller named zhu440. So first & foremost avoid this seller @ all costs. On 10/9 I found a seller offering an even rate for btc in exchange for Google Play physical gift card...I purchased a $200 card at the Speedway gas station after making an atm withdrawal to make sure it was paid for w/cash. I've been stuck w/green dot cards in the past on local btc because I would purchase w/debit & the vendors only accepted gift cards paid for with cash..when I returned home I pulled up the listing for zhu440 who has +124/-0 reputation..I then scratched the code & took pics of the receipt, card front/back, & the cardboard packaging..I then asked the seller if he wanted images of all the above & seller just replied "upload card" twice w/in 30 sec then "faster" 30 sec later while I'm retrieving the pic files I just took..telling me to hurry was the 1st red flag but I brushed it off as I was just focused on finding the files...no more than 1 min later I found the pics & uploaded, marked paid, then the pathetic tactics started..1st line "HuhHuh" 2nd line "WHY" 3rd line "THIS IS USED"...so I reply like nice try buddy but I just scratched that & walked a few miles in the rain & still have the receipt so release or I'll dispute...they reply "Please dont play games with me" "THIS IS USED"..I said show me proof its used, I just bought that card & then they just keep saying " THIS IS USED" THIS IS USED" & never upload any screenshot proving so regardless of the fact thats not proof since he has time to redeem then reenter to get that error message w/in the timeframe given....then they say "I believe what I saw in my eyes. This is indeed a second-hand card. I swear." "Please check your card as soon as possible"....I say you can't scam me w/escrow & how do I check it, I have no google play account... then they reply "I don't understand why you want to upload a used card." I said its brand new please just release my coin....they reply "@Moderator This person uploads a second-hand card Please handle it as soon as possible Thank you"

Keep in mind I'm panicking now because I realize whats taken place as it's happened to me on local btc in the past for physical cards.. the +124/-0 reputation of the scammer & the +10/-0 for myself didn't exactly ease my mind either...although I've been a member 3 months longer than the scam seller it's not reassuring..the only thing reassuring was escrow but after reading a couple threads on this technique it seems it's a lose/lose situation for myself as far as the dispute outcome goes. Leading me to create this thread.

Following him requesting a mod, I went on a tirade explaining he couldn't pull off this desperate attempt & to do the right thing stop wasting my time...then he replies "Don't leave, let the moderator enter the transaction investigation" I said I'm not going anywhere I'm waiting until my 3 hr timer on the left hand side of the screen expires to dispute as I just paid $200 for this card & wasn't going to donate it to them.. I said you obviously redeemed my card & the claim its "used"..I then uploaded the receipt as more documentation on my behalf then they reply " ARE YOU KIDDING ME" "The receipt can only be how the card is yours. It does not mean that no one has used him."...makes alot of sense right?? lol. I told scammer speak english & then explain in dummy terms to them what it is they're doing so he knows im completely onto his pathetic attempt to scam me..he runs out of lines & continues repeating "THIS IS USED" then "You still don't understand? You uploaded a used card."

As im reporting the the issue below given the fact I still cant dispute for 2 1/2 hrs my report automatically closes out & the chat reads the scammer initated dispute. Go f#$%ing figure...I took multiple images upon request from mod & the entire time while filing dispute making my case to Paxful mod, said scammer continues pasting go-to line  "You still don't understand? You uploaded a used card."saying repeatedly "This is not the reason you upload a used card. OK?"...I suppose idiot thought he could convince me I actually sent a used card despite all my evidence or he ran out of lines....needless to say its been 5 days now. Mod had me update & retake images of the card to make sure it was w/in the chat etc etc.....I can only expect the worse from what I've read on here but I wanted to go on record to provide the truth of the situation at hand so it can possibly be resolved in my favor & to warn poeple of this individual & the tactics being used. It seems this is very common unfortunately..extremely unfortunate given I thought I was protected on Paxful from this kind of stuff & the fact I'd been using seller reputation to determine the legitimacy of the seller..I've had 2 successful low volume trades for Amazon ecards in exchange for BTC since this dispute started while the seller has been offline until 7 hrs ago to check & see if their scam was successful... I dread the outcome & cringe at the thought of this lowlife being awarded my $200 that I'm in absolutely no financial to lose. I've had a string of bad luck this yr starting w/my mom being diagnosed w/ stage 4 melanoma cancer & my Youtube channel w/ 155k subscribers being demonetized in the very same day. This would be a rotten cherry on to top it off.
5  Economy / Web Wallets / (PLEASE HELP)BLOCKCHAIN AUTHORIZE LOGIN ATTEMPT LINK ISSUE on: January 23, 2017, 09:59:38 PM
I'm having an issue accessing my blockchain wallet. When I login as usual I enter wallet identifier & my pw & then Blockchain always sends me an email to authorize the login attempt & the link they keep sending comes back to a site that cannot be reached... I've tried Firefox & Chrome & tried 4 times & all 4 links in the emails received show up the same "site cant be reached"..I also used ccleaner & no difference. Any advice on how to resolve this issue would be greatly appreciated.ty
6  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: AMAZON FOR BITCOIN (BUYER CRISIS) on: January 12, 2017, 07:16:22 PM
Your post is confusing...  at first you say you are looking to purchase an amazon e code,   and then you want btc

which is it?

there are people who accept amazon e-codes but the rate is very bad.  usualy you get 60-70% of the amazon code value

Yes I know the rates suck but @ this pt I dont care..I can't find a Local Bitcoins dealer who accepts Amazon ecodes though. They all want pics recipts etc. Its BS

Im willing to purchase an amazon ecode etc to trade for btc.

Need:BTC
Have:Amazon/PaypalMycash/etc

Welp, I continue to only receive pm's from junior Members & while I'm able to retrieve their post history it's not enough since there is hardly any trade history. This is the user who sent me that pm as well.
convertekk
Jr. Member

& go figure I had imagined it was nothing more than a scam.
Another member by the name JumperN had me convinced until I found a scam accusation deep in his history of posts. Lucky for me my paypal xfer didn't go thru the 1st time & I was able to come across that thread before attempting again. He was extremely convincing @ 5% to say the least & was even patient about an escrow...

"I charge 5% fee for the trade so for $75 PP you get $71.25 BTC and for an escrow you can search for one and I will also do the same."

8  Economy / Currency exchange / IS THIS A SCAMMER TACTIC OR WHAT?? on: January 12, 2017, 06:50:30 PM

10  Economy / Currency exchange / AMAZON FOR BITCOIN (BUYER CRISIS) on: January 12, 2017, 05:52:15 PM
I am looking to purchase an Amazon ecode to trade for btc. I am looking to buy around $50-$75 in btc. I have been to hell & back trying to find a way to purchase btc & have failed miserably. My bank wont let me purchase from Virwox because its located in UK evidently while Coinbase refuses to help my properly set up a payment method & continues to reject my card. I assume my bank just sucks. So I'm at the end of my rope here..I deposited into my Paypal account to purchase btc only to cashout shortly after realizing anyone who tries using Paypal to buy btc is labled a scammer. I was contacted on this site by someone offering me btc for my Paypal shortly after I created an ad & then came across threads of a scam accusation so I got cold feet & pulled out. I'm simply looking to purchase something online for someone to obtain this small amount of btc. I have been trying since last week when I went & purchased a paypal mycash reload card.  EPIC FAIL
If anyone can be of assistance BEFORE this weekend has come & gone already, I'd greatly appreciate it. thx
11  Economy / Exchanges / Re: XCOINS.IO LEGIT OR SCAM on: January 11, 2017, 07:26:33 PM
Is this site legit? Can anyone provide any feedback regarding a positive experience with this site? getting conflicting reports on google. thx

I can't say for XCOINS.IO specific but generally sites that share this business model end up being scam. I don't see real proof on their website of users in need of loan. But this scheme just deposit and earn will almost sure be scam. I would be safe and stay away from this

Thx for the feedback...the search to find a legit site to purchase bitcoin & one my bank will approve of has reached a dead end. Local bitcoin semmed great until you read all the requirements the sellers require to make a purchase. Take a pic vertical & horizontal, jump through this hoop, now do a backflip...beyond frustrating @ this pt. thx again.

13  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: EVER USED VIRWOX on: January 11, 2017, 04:51:44 PM
First transaction takes some time so don't panic.
They have high fees when converting PP > SLL > BTC so you need to be careful.
If you do small amounts, you may not be able to withdraw because the fees might take you below the minimum withdrawal amount. I'd suggest atleast $40 to be safe.
Other than that, they're safe. Though I'd advise against using them due to their fees. Use a card to buy from anywhere else (Coinbase, Circle, Blockchain).

I see, so you recommend Coinbase, Circle or Blockchain instead...Since when does Blockchain sell btc? I use a Blockchain wallet & was completely unaware of this...
14  Economy / Service Discussion / EVER USED VIRWOX on: January 11, 2017, 04:33:58 PM
Hi I was curious whether or not anyone has had any positive experiences when it comes to purchasing Bitcoin from Virwox? If so what exactly are the do's & donts when it comes to this site. I've heard conflicting things, but I have read dozens of reviews about being scammed & losing $$. Any info would be greatly appreciated. I am currently unable to find a safe way to purchase btc & I've narrowed down to Virwox being the best option but not 100% confident. Thx
15  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: LOOKING TO BUY BTC FROM A TRUSTED MEMBER VIA PAYPAL on: January 09, 2017, 03:01:26 PM
I have only tried to offer you help and solutions.

It is not my fault you are not capable of being assisted.

By your responses I now know you're not a safe trader, even if your intentions are benign...your emotion alone is enough of a risk to avoid trading with you.

Sucks to be you doesn't it?

Yes Princess, it sucks to be a person who's only objective everyday they wake up is to get online & troll people.. & for the record you know nothing. To accuse me of not being a safe trader is low. You know nothing about me. If I had a month to acquire btc I could surely prove all the trolls wrong & establish a legit rep on bitcointalk.timeoutsgalore but I dont have a month princess.. So you are completely outta line to continue harassing & a throwing sh*t @ the wall to see what sticks. You know so much about emotions,so how much paypal would you accept to read my palm??
16  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: LOOKING TO BUY BTC FROM A TRUSTED MEMBER VIA PAYPAL on: January 09, 2017, 02:22:46 PM
Listen up kids.

Throwing tantrums and pointing fingers and general acts of shitshowing never make for successful business. It also makes you look like someone who's scam has been revealed.

Successful traders are patient, polite and generally don't cry in public.

Tell you what.

If you pay me $75 in paypal...I will pay a trusted escrow to hold the $75 btc for the 1 year charge-back period and then release it to you if no charge-back has occurred. I will give positive trust at the end of the 1 year period.

Fair enough? That way nobody gets screwed.

You sir are full of bologna w/your accusations. Hard not to lol @ your post.. Oh the characters of the online world..you all are too funny. especially you pal. Actually there is no need to carry on. I found a seller just waiting for an escrow. I know, I know, I'll never find one right? Just like I'll never find a buyer? Found a few w/in minutes of initially posting.  This is how parodies are made I think lol. Just dumb A narcissistic individuals w/ no interest in online forums except to troll & create hell for noobs trying to get their feet wet. Well fyi I'm not a noob & I've been around the block when it comes to this type of stuff & find it absolutely comical the feedback I've received so far. Although I am new to this particular site but please keep it coming folks, keep it coming! Preferably the psychologists feedback & conspiracy theorists lol
17  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: LOOKING TO BUY BTC FROM A TRUSTED MEMBER VIA PAYPAL on: January 09, 2017, 02:00:42 PM
No escrow will accept this trade for all the reasons listed here. It just means the escrow would lose money as well as the btc seller. Unless you're willing to wait a year for the funds to be released (as there is a time limit on payment reversals). Nobody reputable is going to take the trade, as many people have been scammed by this in the past.

To be quite frank there is actually no need if I find the seller to be reputable enough. Escrow is just more hoops to jump thru for this simple transaction & tbh I'm so sick of reading the word scam. What has this world come to where everyone wanting to buy something online via paypal is auto labled a scam artist?? It's ridiculous.

Why are you so insistent on PayPal then? It obviously gives you protection but whoever you buy off has zero defence if you reverse the payment. You're the one being unreasonable if you cannot see this. Nobody is labelling PayPal users scammers - just PayPal users who want to buy bitcoin. You're "new" here but you'll soon learn that nobody takes these trades for a reason.

PayPal is the #1 payment processor. Sure there are scammers, but there are legit people. Get off your high horse my friend. People want to move from PayPal to bitcoin but when they get charged 50% after showing their ID on LocalBitcoins or when they get harassed here, they have no choice but to continue using PayPal.

Who are you exactly? A multi account shill for the original poster? This is a bitcoin forum. In the scams section you will find a clear warning to avoid these trades. If you're such a Good Samaritan then you can complete the trade for them. You are simply deflecting from the point, repeated many times, that this trade will protect the buyer and allow them to get their money back by reversing the payment. Good luck finding a poor soul to do the trade.

LMAO You poor old soul...Full of conspiracies & rubbish I tell you. Also, thanks for all the recommendations people but no thx. I have my mind made up & this isn't some kind of circus I'm about to go through to get my btc..In addition I dont live in a large city like Tampa lol & I'm not in the selling business. I have no intentions of using this SLOW site to sell stuff to establish a rep to make a measily btc purchase. For the record, the timeouts attached to messages & posts on this site make it almost unbearable. To the techs, was it really necessary? Maybe you should take a look into how the guys over @ 2+2 created their site. lol

Indeed, you took the words right outta my mouth. Some people will never realize that LocalBitcoins is anything but an ideal site to Purchase btc... & the other sites that sell would more less like for you to provide a DNA & urine sample just to get a verified account. Which is why Paypal is my preferred method, not because it gives me some unfair advantage over the seller smh

Nobody wants to do PayPal trades with fresh accounts. The reasoning behind this is the frequency of scam attempts. Nobody with experience will want to risk you scamming them.

You can buy bitcoins through coinbase.com or cex.io using your bank account or card. Alternatively you can sell things we might be interested in here on the forums, the best things to sell are things that aren't already being sold. Escrow is a great way to build trust because of the extra people involved in the trade(extra feedback = additional rapour).

You should look into localbitcoins.com and make the trade in person if you would like to remain anonymous.

Your first few trades should either be selling something of value to us or a purchase from someone here on the forum.

Good fortune to you and welcome to bitcointalk.

p.s. we're trying to help you, don't ignore our free advice...

yes, That is my thought. Some guys with newbie ranks usually want to buy bitcoin with paypal  so that they will easily make scams and then do disputes with paypal for refunds. Why doesn't this guy want to buy on coinbase or Cex.io??? it's very easy and safe for him

Not looking to scam & already found a seller but in need of a reputable escrow...Also it's not easy to buy from those sites as the verification process is absurd, long & drawn out.
