2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's Dual Ethereum AMD+NVIDIA GPU Miner v11.9 (Windows/Linux) on: July 11, 2018, 08:03:44 AM
Wondering if anyone is getting issues with the later versions using the same settings are earlier versions.

Basically I had to upgrade due to the DAG 200 bug and with version 11.7 I get freezing sometime within the first hour or so.

With the older version 9.8 I've never experienced this and I am using the same settings mining ETH on solo mode.

Only thing I've noticed is that the newer version is 0.15MHs faster and maybe this stresses the GPU further.

The kernels are different in newest versions.
It was advised that the old overclock/bios mods might be unstable.

"-oldkernels (AMD cards only) specify "-oldkernels 1" to use old-style GPU kernels from v10, they can be more stable for hard OC and custom BIOSes."

Lowering OC works in my case.

Can you please add Claymore 11.9.
Thank you.
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum solo mining on: June 27, 2018, 03:16:06 PM
Since this thread already exists...

Do you guys think that 13 GH would be enough to consider solo mining?
Is it better to have a private pool (from an efficiency perspective)?

I would be very interested in your input on this as ethermine only pays for about 11.5gh out of the 13 (24h average) and I'm looking for an alternative.

Cheers!

5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Deception & Misdirection by ZEC co. Forking ASIC Resistance Bitmain Antminer Z9 on: May 10, 2018, 09:05:48 PM

what they should do is, yes, postpone sappling and deal with the ASIC mess right away.  Priority should be given to what they said first, which is remain ASIC resistant, alter the algo to eliminate any threat of ASICs... sappling and any other upgrade came after the statements on ASIC resistance and forking off ASICs.

Who the hell are you to decide how they prioritize their work?  First of all, there is no ASIC threat or mess. There are just ASICs, which are the natural progression of how coins are mined. ASICs are a good thing to everyone except end users that are worried about nothing more than their profits. Go mine some other shitcoins and stop posting this nonsense before someone actually takes you seriously.

I'm sorry to tell you this but you are missing the point.
We're not talking about the advantages of asic vs gpu or whether the devs have a right to do what they wish or not or about what to do first.
It's simple really. They said from the beginning they will not allow asiscs on their chain. Nobody can deny this. End of story.

6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining with Zero electricity costs - right setup? on: May 04, 2018, 01:34:58 PM
You should provide hosting services to others with rigs in your area  Grin for a fee = no risk for you.
Whatever gear you buy now might not make a dime in a couple of weeks.

If you do fill the entire 10kw, will you live in the same place? With all that noise and heat?
Think it trough before you go spending any money.
If you must, buy high end cards that fit your budget and read this forum a few hours a day and you'll be a pro Cheesy like everybody else around here.
rx 570/580 are your best bet with the important nvidia coins getting asic attention.
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: There here, and what now with Zcash ? on: May 04, 2018, 01:21:28 PM
^^ Ed Zachary

So what do you do?  Just mine the creek until it's played out.  No other deposits to mine?  Then sell your shovel and pan.  Get out.  Either that or spend more money on heavy equipment (aka, ASIC or FPGA) and compete on the big boy level.

Well, I'm not yet worried. My gear is paid off and hashing away making me a nice profit.

The news just came as a disappointment to me (I'm talking crypto in general) correlated with the fact that the zec dev or whatever he is (the zoo guy) said they didn't actually mean to keep the asics away if and when they showed up as they originally promoted and lead people to buy gpu's for this purpose.
They I remembered they take 20% of what everybody makes. Maybe it's just me but this is in your face robbery.
If they don't fork it will be obvious they have some kind of deal worked out behind closed doors.

Even if zec forks, I'm almost certain that in the near future Bitmain plans to have it's own version of the top 10 mineable coins.
It's just good business. I think Jihan is damn proud of what he accomplished so far  Cheesy
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: There here, and what now with Zcash ? on: May 04, 2018, 01:04:32 PM
Nobody cares.
Their agendas can move forward with or without gpu miners.

It should be "support the ones that support(ed) you". Unfortunately the world doesn't work that way.
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: SRBMiner Cryptonight AMD GPU Miner V1.5.1 on: May 04, 2018, 12:26:34 PM
I can mining BBS with SRBMiner?

yes you can, just set "cryptonight_type" : "normalv7"

In havy mode i get 1100 hs with sapphire rx580 8gb intensity 53, but now in normalv7 just 950hs.

Do You know the best intensity?

58 for heavy (56 if the card is used for display)
104 or 108 or higher for v7

Make sure page file is 8gb x number of gpu's on rig
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain launches the Z9 Equihash miner on: May 04, 2018, 12:19:24 PM
So what am I or you supposed to do in this case?

It's not Bitmain's fault that it can design and manufacture high efficiency mining machines.
It's not Bitmain's customers fault that they desire to buy said mining machines.

Oh, they've been mining for a few months with these machines and then they decided to sell them to the public now.
So what? Can't really sue them for it can you. It's just their strategy.

The system was flawed from the beginning, since they were allowed to centralize bitcoin with their asics, and now all we can do is bitch and moan about it.
This really pisses me off  Cheesy

11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain launches the Z9 Equihash miner on: May 04, 2018, 11:04:16 AM
It doesn't really matter if the equihash coins fork or not.
In the long run we are all fucked. By all I mean small to medium mining operation owners.
As long as there is serious money in the game do you really think that the powers that be will let us regular folk have our share?
This leaves me wondering what in the hell are we trying to accomplish with crypto currencies anyway.
"Decentralized" is just another nice sounding word, same as democracy. It's a dream, an illusion.

One thing is clear: zcash was launched with an ASIC resistant ideology. Now zcash says it didn't mean that.
What changed? MONEY

The rest is just noise.

Gentlemen,

Excuse my bluntness but it also took me lots of time and potential revenue lost in order to figure it all out.
The information in here on the forum. Might not be stable on most cards anyway but it is possible.
I won't detail here as it is not related to this thread/software.

Sorry for offtopic zawawa.

There are timings, in full view, on this very forum for MJR that give 1200h/s on cn heavy at 1244/2125 570 nitro+ 8g.
Just keep looking.  Wink
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Cryptonight V7 mining issues on: May 02, 2018, 08:52:02 AM
well, when will they solve it?
any ideas?

You could always open a support ticket.  I use XMR-STAK ... Super stable.

With nicehash? Aren't you getting 3-5% rejected shares? If not may I ask what your ping is?

Yes I meant open a support ticket with NH.  No I'm not getting 3-5% rejected shares with XMR-STAK ... According to my stats I've had 2 rejected shares out of 68,906.  Ping to the pool address is 40ms.

Thanks for the info. My ping is around 100ms...perhaps the main reason of my rejects (they come right after a new block..submitted too late  Sad ).
Other than that, xmr-stak is the best option if setup properly.

What pool are you using?  I'm using supportxmr.

Cheesy I'm using nicehash. Tried all possible miners, either getting low hashrate poolside or lots of rejects.

17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Windows Update Problem on mining rigs.... on: April 30, 2018, 07:52:01 AM
Use windows 10 build 1703 (however you will be limited to max 8 cards/rig) and set all the gpedit stuff. Zero updates in 1 year+.
Win 10 1709 can't be stopped from updating, at least in my own dealings with it.

RX 570 Hynix : 975-996 h/s

Thanks ,
1.3.7 is stable and fast on opening.  Smiley
You 570 cards is 8Gb hynix MJR or 4Gb hynix AJR memory?
If they are 8Gb hynix MJR than the results as on scrren possible only on Sapphire Nitro+ cards. Because other low end cards with 8Gb hynix MJR memory can't run on 2150-2160MHz memory clock on strap what you're using.
On MSI Gaming X 8Gb with hynix memory max 2100Mhz. So it's speed will be lower and max about 940-950 h/s.
Are your use "GOOD" hynix mjr strap?

My 570 nitro+ 8g hynix can only do max 920 with straps turned on in ggs.
With the "GOOD hynix" straps (I believe you are referring to the one click mod) I can only get around 800.

zawawa, what other stuff do you need to have installed in order for your software to work properly?
It doesn't look too good on my screen and most of the times it keeps looping this error:
https://imgur.com/a/PsXWSRC

That error doesn't look good... Do you have .NET Framework 4.7.1?
If so, please fill out the error-reporting form somewhere in this thread and either post it here or PM it to me.

I don't  Grin. I'll install and get back to you if I still get the error. Thanks.

Does anybody know why there are a lot of "job not found" rejected shares when mining at nicehash?
They are driving me crazy.

Thanks for this thread, inspired me to compile it myself (took a while but it worked).
For all you do-it-yourselfers out there, I used this tutorial:
