21  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is this one of the so-called spam attacks? on: January 25, 2017, 03:23:06 PM
Yeh wow. Pretty cool that you found it. I dont understand why they would hurt the network like this though? Also a bit worrying that anyone could do this if they have enough money to do so. Are there any solutions to prevent this?
22  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What's the best place for current BtC price? on: January 25, 2017, 02:43:12 PM
You can go into coinmarketcap and see the list of different price sources:
https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/bitcoin/#markets

My fav as mentioned a few times is http://preev.com/

Given its so simple to use and it averages out the price.

24  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Easiest way to convert money into BTC? on: January 25, 2017, 02:03:25 PM
You can always get a bitcoin debit card or use services we ourselves offer as well:

https://paxful.com/

There are also bitcoin ATM's if you want to do it in person. The best way IMO is to find someone and trade with them. That way you can learn as well.

Kudos for putting in the effort to open this for opinion and corrections. I will share this with a few friends.
27  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin needs altcoins because ... on: January 23, 2017, 12:40:25 PM
for some reason we need alts because it shows competition inside crypto industry if bitcoin alone it will take some time to gain some good cash and because of alt industry we able to get some options to trade our btc and hold some alts and sell it when the market shows strong movement i see alt as a another options to earn.

Well said mate. For me, i could see this from many angles. Another example would be internet browsers. Some people know that chrome is a fork from Chromium (the true and original, open source browser which google turned into Chrome and removed its beautiful security features), but unfortunately most of the world seems to only know Chrome. Then there is Firefox which is also great, followed by Safari, IE etc. They all exist because of various reasons - whether its monopoly, standardisation of systems, deals with manufacturers etc - but regardless of personal opinion or devotion, they do all exist. It would be silly to think Chromium - or any other one - should be the one and only. They all open the gate for choice and that is the most important part. I know from experience that some people do not want 0.2 of a bitcoin, but would much rather have +30K GRC instead - psychology of numbers.

With the introduction of shapeshift, one doesnt even need to worry about it anymore. Eventually people will see which suits their needs and in most cases i would assume Bitcoin would be the most useful (IMO).
28  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin needs altcoins because ... on: January 23, 2017, 12:28:32 PM
..Not everyone is in love with bitcoin and we should be open to that..

If no alts existed after bitcoin then no statement like that will be made.

if gravity didnt exist, we could all fly. Whats your point?
29  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: In a Bitcoin Disaster where would you move your Money? on: January 23, 2017, 12:22:23 PM
There are over 700 other coins to choose from. I like those odds a lot better than fiat Smiley

https://coinmarketcap.com/

^^ have a browse and see which one would suit the moment.
30  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is CHINA CONTROLLING Bitcoin? on: January 23, 2017, 12:15:07 PM
Just read this:
https://www.wired.com/2016/06/fastest-supercomputer-sunway-taihulight/

They dont "control" bitcoin they have "control" over a lot more than that. So bitcoin is a small fragment of the concern.
31  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin needs altcoins because ... on: January 23, 2017, 11:57:10 AM
Saying you dont need altcoins is extremely myopic. Its like facebook saying "we dont need twitter or instagram" or skype saying "we dont need whatsapp, viber, signal etc..." because we should be the one and only.

If you take a step back and look at the bigger picture, you will see that having all these different services and branches only strengthens the entire cryptosphere. We need as many different possibilities as we can get (IMO). Not everyone is in love with bitcoin and we should be open to that, but perhaps they are open to decentralized storage like STORJ or other platforms like Synereo etc.
32  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: If Monero evolved from Bytecoin, how come there is still Bytecoin? on: January 20, 2017, 05:18:34 PM
Dogs were bred and evolved - manually, but there are other natural occurrences as well - from wolves. This doesnt mean that wolves had to die out. If it works, it works. Darwin's theory of evolution kicks in here.
33  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Decentralized Social Network - Starting with the Product on: January 20, 2017, 05:14:24 PM
Nice, hope you do well Smiley

Also, maybe have a look into: http://www.synereo.com/

You may be able to learn something from them or add to your own idea.
34  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin money laundering on: January 20, 2017, 04:57:09 PM
The estimated amount of money laundered globally in one year is 2 - 5% of global GDP, or $800 billion - $2 trillion in current US dollars. Do

you think Bitcoin can handle that with a $800+ per bitcoin price tag at the moment?  Huh

Very good point! Cheers for that. Do you think you could please source those numbers?
35  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why was bitcoin designed with no inflation? on: January 20, 2017, 04:24:26 PM
Keep in mind that Bitcoin is divisible to eight decimal places. So:

"There are really 2,099,999,997,690,000 (just over 2 quadrillion) maximum possible atomic units in the bitcoin system."

Source: https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Myths

So when the time comes, i would - just a guess - think that people would not even mention ONE bitcoin, but rather in smaller parts. Same as Gold being spoken about in ounces rather than Kilos, as it makes it easier to relate to for the average person and trading. So with this in mind, you can see that they have thought about it quite well Smiley

36  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Public vs private blockchains on: January 20, 2017, 04:12:28 PM
The best example of this i can give you is Windows vs. Linux

Windows:
Mobiles
Personal Computers
Servers
Gaming Consoles

VS

Linux (Open Source):
Mobiles, Tablets
Personal Computers
Data Centers / Web Servers
Super Computers
Satellites
Televisions
Cameras
Robots
Etc. SAME LINUX KERNEL
37  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin money laundering on: January 20, 2017, 04:05:43 PM
Ofcourse it can. You can also use gift vouchers, prepaid visa cards and of course normal cash as a method of money laundering. Bitcoin is not exempt from it. This of course is an extremely minimal aspect of what Bitcoin could be used for. There are mixers and many other methods of bypassing the user information being extracted and identified, and if one was smart enough they could make sure that it could not be traced back to them, but such a person would be able to do the same with many other forms of currency.
38  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is there any possibility of a decrease in demand for Bitcoin? on: January 20, 2017, 03:58:12 PM
Anything is possible in this world, though with that in mind, i would consider the following:

- Bitcoin has a huge community of investors, developers etc who continuously seek to resolve any issues. Imagine if you invested in a bitcoin based startup, or even directly into purchasing bitcoins for yourself. You would do your best to promote and protect it.

- Furthermore, hackers, banks and other organizations who may feel "threatened" by bitcoin or simply just want to extract wealth from it, are always on the lookout for faults to do so. This means it has grown and evolved in an environment that naturally demands the network to be kept secure and safe. You can relate this to any living specie, the ones that have grown in a rough / hard environment which is continuously attempting to kill it off, will usually grow to be extremely robust and strong - given they survive it.

Many other ways to look at is, though just some thought Smiley
39  Economy / Exchanges / Re: My first time using Paxful. on: January 18, 2017, 04:35:10 PM
I'm a fan of your videos and I have to say they are very useful and helpful. I however wouldn't recommend Paxful as their CEO and CTO was involved in some shady businesses and they also got arrested in Miami for having cocaine and weapons in their car .
I assume they are no longer part of the team but still , who knows If other staff members are involved too or not . Unless Its really needed , a risk shouldn't be taken.

This accusations where clear months ago. And right now, Paxful is moving into new things.
