Plan to dump and leave with btc  Grin Grin Grin

I believe this guy may be attempting to try to discourage others to mine Electra so he can claim a larger portion of the Super Rewards Bonanza for himself. There will be many more like him. The status of the pre-mine can be easily tracked at anytime in Electra's block explorer.

"dump and leave with btc" is not part of my plans.

I'm not interested in your coin shit, but alert the others of the scam you're doing here Wink ,  You can put the whole premine in the ass

I am sorry you feel this way about Electra. I do have good intentions with this cyptocurrency and I guess only time will prove it.

Pre-mine is a lot, not ICO? If you have great concepts to deliver, ICO could be better, your project is so-so, I think no ICO is acceptable.

No ICO is planned.

so what do you plan for the premine?
Any bounties?

The pre-mine will be used for, but not limited to, projects that improve accessibility, reliability and usage of Electra. A summary of them can be found in the OP listed under "Objectives".

There are no bounties planned in the initial stage of Electra. I will consider bounties after POS begins.

NSIT5 algorithm recently appeared more, may be very good, I do not understand mining, but would like to try to try! Grin

I prepared a mining guide for newcomers. It has some information omitted until launch day. You can find the guide here:

http://electraproject.weebly.com/getting-started.html

The guide is meant for Windows.

No other platform supported ?

There will be wallets available for both Windows and Linux. The guide is only meant for Windows.

I have clearly stated this in the OP:

i like the algo, but 1 billion premine and 40 days before the real reward, would be scary if its entering the market at the first 40 days

No worry about it.

Can any fool buy the coin in the first 40 days?

Anyway, how do you plan to use the premine, dev? Any plan?

I can guarantee that the 1,000,000,019 ECA won't enter the market before the real reward. Putting the pre-mine on the market would be a very bad strategy on my part and would kill Electra before it even reaches the Super Rewards Bonanza stage. If you are skeptical you are free to wait and come to mine later when the real reward kicks in.

Your website doesn't have a domain...  You're using a .weebly  Are you serious or just testing the crypto community for how little thought you can put into a scam?  A domain costs $10...

+1 you must buy domaine website it just for $ :3

I believe that free hosting is best hosting. The website will never need to be renewed and always be available for the community to get information about Electra. I believe using a .weebly domain has no correlation with scamming. It is not my intent to scam the crypto community as you will see the day the source code is released on April 2.

I have come across many altcoins with very professional websites that have shut down. There are even some active altcoins listed on coinmarketcap that no longer maintain websites.

294  Economy / Economics / Re: The best time to invest. on: March 30, 2017, 08:57:57 AM

Some day in the future, you will realize that the best time to invest was not today, but some other day in the future, when prices were low. But with the information that you have today, the best time to invest is still today, because you do not know when prices will be low, and you do know that the longer you hold your investment, the more time it has to grow.

Toughts?

I disagree. The best time to invest is not necessarily today. If a company or cryptocurrency releases bad news today would you invest right when it is announced? I would personally at least wait a few days before I invest or not invest at all. A book I read called "A Random Walk Down Wall Street" does suggest there are long run upward trends in stock indexes so the investment there might grow if you leave it long enough but not sure if it is the same trend with other investment options.
295  Economy / Economics / Re: Is USD being used for illegal activities? on: March 30, 2017, 08:41:00 AM
Will this hurt USD in the long run? Will governments ban this just like they started to do with paying in cash for some services to harden the use of illegal activities, and money laundering?

I think criminal activity will not hurt USD in the long run. It may even strengthen it as it creates demand for the currency. If governments find a way to curb the use of their national currency in illegal activities, they will do it.
296  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can POW rewards be interest rate + tx fee based? on: February 11, 2017, 01:47:23 PM
As far as I know you can't really measure how long someone have been mining. You either find a block or don't, the effort is not documented. And if you make it so it's super easy to find blocks so many people can find them and use that to track their mining period (e.g eveyrone have to mine at least 1 block in X days) then you'll get a huge blockchain fast and likely many forks.

People won't waste electricity (money) mining just to fight inflation. And if hashrate doesn't matter people can just mine with 1% of their CPU so the interest rate is essentially free and it's just a gimmick that you have to mine for it.

And 5% in crypto is laughable if you think about it. The price of most coins move way more than 5% in a single day so holding money solely for the 5% interest in such volatility is kind of stupid.

There's no incentive to mine a coin like this so it will have a poor network open to attacks.

What you could probably do is to have a small block reward plus a certain percentage of the coins in the wallet (address) which mined it. So for example if the blockreward is 5 coins +1% of the address miend it, then a new wallet would earn 5 coins and someone who has 1000 coins would earn 5+10 coins. But that would end up with everyone mining on one pool which has a lot of coins so everyone would earn the most. And rich gets richer system are counterproductive in crypto.

You make good points. I threw out 5% as an example. Maybe if it starts at a higher value like 100% a year and halves every four years until the network matures it may give miners a higher incentive to mine.

Hash rate DOES matter in this hypothetical altcoin but you only get the rewards from transaction fees in the blocks. In a new cryptocurrency these rewards would be minimal but in a mature high volume transaction system with full blocks there will be an incentive to use higher hash rates to mine those blocks. Bitcoin’s mining rewards will eventually solely be based on transaction fees. If miners are predicted to mine that, then surely they would mine a block that gives them transaction fees coupled with an interest rate just for trying.

Anyways, if, as you say, there is no way to track how long someone has been mining, then this kind of altcoin cannot exist at the moment. People who have no coins in their wallet would also probably not mine as %100 interest of 0 won’t give you anything.
297  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Can POW rewards be interest rate + tx fee based? on: February 11, 2017, 12:10:45 PM
Imagine a scenario where:

An altcoin is launched fairly as 100% POW, and after a set number of coins are mined, switches to a system where there is no block reward for POW mining. Instead, you get interest for mining for a certain period of time (e.g. 20 days). If you don’t mine, you don’t get the interest. This is similar to the concept in POS where you can stake for a period of time and get rewarded with an interest of say 5% a year.

In this POW mining with interest system, the probability of a block being found would still depend on hash rate. I imagine though that there would be less of an ASIC arms race since whoever mines a block would get only the transaction fees within it. There is less of an incentive to invest in ASICs. The interest (e.g. 5% a year) is gained by all people who are mining for a set period of time no matter the hash rate. The reason people would mine for a fixed interest rate is to protect themselves from inflation within the coin.

Due to the design of this system, people may attempt to discover ways to mine the coin by prioritizing low energy usage as it may be more profitable to cost effectively mine minimally for just the %5 interest than to maximize hash rates in order to mine subsidized blocks as well as get the 5% everyone else is getting. As people may focus on mining with low energy devices, the network hash rate may be lower and open it up to 51% attacks. But if a large portion of users mine in order to protect themselves from interest, then the attack would be a costly one.

Do you think a system where you can mine for a certain period of time and gain interest is possible to create?

Has anyone tried it?

In your opinion, what are the advantages and drawbacks?
298  Economy / Economics / Re: 2016’s top cryptocurrencies + january 2017 on: February 08, 2017, 12:21:43 PM

Trumpcoin:

March 1 2016 : 160 sat.

January 15 2017 : 63462 sat.

An increase of 39563.75 % !! If those values are converted to dollars, the percentage increase is even higher.

That's the another shit coin, I won't be expecting a lot for the trump coin. It's fully with pump and dump. I don't ever seen an interesting innovation in there although  trump coin has based on the trump's hype. but in this time you know what's US feeling about trump.  Cool

The link the guy who started the thread posted shows cryptocurrencies in terms of how much their value increased, not in terms of which is superior technically. Trumpcoin's value since January 15 has plummeted but I think the creator foresaw this fad well. It may increase again in 4 years if Trump gets re-elected. Who knows? I'm sure there are cryptocurrencies out there that outperformed even Trumpcoin in 2016.
Well bitcoin has been growing a lot faster than any other currency out there, not just for the past few months but over the years, and I don’t think that trump’s coin is going to have a better rise rate, and probably by the end of his time it will go down, it is a cheap way to use his position to earn money and I am not finding any possibilities for its successes.

Yes over the years Bitcoin has been an unbeatable investment. Imagine if the guy in 2009 who recieved 10000 BTC for selling 2 pizzas probably worth around $20 held on to the BTC. He would currently be worth  $10,470,000. If 10,000 BTC was valued at $20, then 1 BTC was valued at $0.002. The price of 1 BTC has increased from $0.002 in 2009 to $1047 today. That's 52349900% !!! Let me spell it: Fifty-two million three hundred and forty-nine thousand nine hundred percent.
299  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Can Hit $2K ? on: February 08, 2017, 09:53:57 AM
Bitcoin USD exchange is increasing speedy and What you guys think? End of 2017...It'll Hit 2K ?

I think it will hit $2K during the year but may fall back to $1.7K or so before the end of 2017.
300  Economy / Speculation / Re: Trump will crash the markets and bitcoin and gold will go to Jupiter on: February 08, 2017, 08:44:48 AM
It's an excellent time be alive as a bitcoin holder. Trump is going to screw up badly eventually during the 4 yours, sooner or later he will show how unfit he is to be a politician, and certainly being at the top of the 1st world power. He thinks he can get away with certain things, unfortunately it doesn't work that way.

Markets will react and gold, and specially bitcoin, will go higher. Only complete braindead morons will still be hating on bitcoin once this happens, specially all those gold bugs that are too stupid to diversify and buy some BTCs.

BIG gains to be made during the next 4 years. It could be tomorrow or it could be in 3 years, since Trump is unpredictable, but Trump will make a lot of gold and BTC holders rich.

If he does crash the economy, I agree that a lot of money will shift into commodities. I would add silver, platinum and other altcoins alongside Bitcoin and gold.
