3k... not bad... 10k will be impressive.

Good news, open source isn't far off. Fantastico! Past few months have been kinda Dark... pun intended.

Price just keeps falling... time to go have a drink. I know it's best not to look, but damn.
Yep. This is a little depressing, not gonna lie.

What are the extents of their definition of 'tainted coins,' because honestly that's what this is. How do they determine what coins are tainted? How many jumps from 'tainted' addresses before they are considered clean? Are they ever considered 'clean' if they were ever at a 'tainted' address?
This is precisely why we need something like Dark Wallet or Darkcoin. There wouldn't even be a discussion about this if it wasn't possible to trace the path of the coins.

Ok guys, can we please stop with the whining !!! the prices is this, the price is that, the dev should do this and that .... BLA BLA BLA everything is on track, leave Evan alone, the man is deep into his coding (exactly where he is supposed to be) you bitching about the price ?! Well do something ! get involved, it is now on the community to get the next steps into place before open source, RC5 and everything else starts kicking. Now is your time to be proactive - Help out on Open Bazaar (thread on DRKtalk) to get DRK accepted - Contact 'anonymous' suggest DRK to them - Get in touch with people who might need and understand Anonymous Transaction (think about it, there are a lot out there) - Contact these guys and see if they wanna be involved with us http://en.rsf.org/reporters-without-borders-and-25-04-2014,46196.html- Spread the word on social media - ..... all of this , and mainly Merchant adoption of DRK would help us, you and the price a LOT So get on it NOW We can't really start the push in earnest until the code is open-source. I'm sure merchants would love to adopt it, but a lot are hesitant because they hear it isn't totally open-source. For the merchants open/closed source is a non issue. The only ones really "concerned" about that are here in our small crypto world. Yes but you need to realize that concern gets passed on and becomes a 'thing.' When the code is totally open, that 'thing' no longer exists because people can see for themselves. So it's as if a governor has been removed from the engine, or a roadblock from the road.

I hear you, but open source is coming soon, so we could prep a PR push by collection contacts working out a plan who to contact maybe make 1st contact already (as an introduction) ... i am just sick of this baby talk out here ohhhh the market ohhhh the dev ohhhh my dixx is shrinking .....> hahaaaaa proactive is the keyword Yes. Get the machinery in place so its ready for the PR push, but don't actually start it until we're open-source. It's a good point about being proactive though.

It becomes much easier to sell people on DRK when they realize they can look at the code and see the anonymity really works, and that there's nothing malicious in there to worry about.

Ugh... shitty market. Jesus fuck. Damn dumper.

$50,000 for that.... dude you're delusional. Try to sell it for $20 and you can at least double your money. You bought it for what, $9.99?

I think the Bitshares price bump has something to do with them nearly having their decentralized exchange ready to roll out. Good project check it out if you have the time.
Can you hit me up with a few links? I do not have so much time on my hands to be looking around for them. Are they going to open source it? If it's good then it can be implemented in a lot of places. There was always a need for a decentralized exchange even for Bitcoin and Darkcoin obviously. https://bitsharestalk.org/index.php?board=65.0That's the main BitsharesX forum.

is there a reason for the little price rush down some hours ago? or just some guys in panic again Well when you are looking at the markets caps you should be looking at all coins at the moment. There is no real uptrend except BitSharesX which was pumped for no reason. Small negative % shouldn't worry you. It's either someone trying to buy in lower or bots playing around. I think the Bitshares price bump has something to do with them nearly having their decentralized exchange ready to roll out. Good project check it out if you have the time.

- Added a darksend overview box showing some generic information
Yes. This... Rudimentary as it is, having it on the main wallet overview is crucial. Excellent.

I like Iris too. The DarkNet is almost exclusively for illegal purposes. Darkcoin is about privacy and civil liberties. So maybe we should just avoid "Dark" altogether. IRIS by Darkcoin, forsee the future of privacy today.IRIS - Internet Resourse Integration System IRIS - Internet Relay Information Security IRIS - Internet Resource Information Security Integrated Relay Information System

How is this First anonymous coin? Confused. Aren't all crypto currencies anonymous?
No. Bitcoin is pseudonymous, which means you can trace the coins from address to address. You might not know the identity of the address-owners but it's a lot easier to figure out when you can track exactly where the coins go. You can't do that with Darkcoin as you can't trace the path of the coins.

Yep I believe that is the plan.
RC5 >>> Open source >>> Press >>> DarkTor
I think IP obfuscation is somewhere between RC5 and open source, or it might be in RC5, not sure.
DarkTor would start after open source so many people can help perfect the code. At least that's what I inferred, could be wrong.
Has Evan or any of the devs revealed what is planned in RC5? I know that there will be overall improvements and fixing, but I'm asking feature wise? It would be good to know. The price has bounced back a bit but looks like it won't go above 0.008 just yet. The main feature from what I read will be UI improvements that make it easier for someone to understand what Darksend is doing. Possibly the new wallet GUI too? Evan: "The next 3-6 weeks will be spent creating the RC5 client which will have a few minor updates including some known issues resolved along with a basic gui that shows the current status of Darksend." https://darkcointalk.org/threads/development-update-august-19-2014.2086/

Agreed The Darkcoin team needs to spam the world with an official press release - get this back on Wired, Coindesk, etc etc I think they're sticking to the plan of doing exactly that after RC5. Correct me if I'm wrong. Yep I believe that is the plan. RC5 >>> Open source >>> Press >>> DarkTor I think IP obfuscation is somewhere between RC5 and open source, or it might be in RC5, not sure. DarkTor would start after open source so many people can help perfect the code. At least that's what I inferred, could be wrong.

For some reason this reminded me of an early internet webpage. With hundreds of gifs of flames up and down the sides and klaxon alarms spinning around.

Whew, got in 3 BTC at .022 and watched them evaporate over the last few weeks. I put in another 9 BTC this morning and I can now say I'm out, and I broke even. The relief feels amazing. I wish you guys all the best with Darkcoin, but I'm out, just not for me.
Glad you got that man. At least keep a few to play around with. Leave em in the wallet and forget about em for a while.

whoever just dropped that 15k buy.... damn you... *shakes fist*
