141  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Minimising Capital Gains Tax on Cryptocurrencies on: January 27, 2018, 01:57:45 PM
It maybe hard in other places, but in my place, someone just made his own business In real life then he uses that as his way to recognize where his profit is coming from. Off course he cant withdraw instant high amounts and he just cashout low amounts each time. But now cashing out more than 500$ is questionable that the server wants to vefiry who is using the money by making a real time video of your self for your money to be confirmed 1st.
142  Other / Serious discussion / Re: Legalization of drugs? on: January 27, 2018, 08:50:57 AM
My vote is yes, for those over 18 years of age. I think all drugs should be available over the counter. Instead of creating black markets for drugs, why not have it open market and just propagandize the dangers?

---
Edit1:
Wow. That's a pretty even split in votes. We're at 2/2/2!  Shocked

I think this was the issue before those world wars?. Drugs are made legal to everyone of age but most have abused it especially for soldiers. As of now, only physicians are allowed to give medicines but during early 20th century, i think money alone can give you the right to buy any drugs you need and i find it odd to go back to those times and legalize drugs for 18 years of age. Because 18 year olds are still in school and most of those age would just want to experiment on it.
143  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Is IDEX a safe exchange to use. They have an option that asks for private keys. on: January 27, 2018, 08:30:33 AM
Thats why it has the option to use metamask and other wallets. If you are used to just using private wallets then then its better to use trezors or ledgers. I've traded in idex and so far  with just .02 eth because i still dont trust that site with huge amounts and so far, no problems occured expcet for its updates where the whole service would be shutdown and you wont see your balance until the maintenance is all done.
144  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is useless so why high price? on: January 25, 2018, 07:09:34 AM
Bitcoin is the father of all coins and with lightning network implementation coming soon, your question now should be why we need so many alt coin to perform similar function (like BCH, LTC and so on)

BTW, the transaction fee now drop to around USD$1.xx, time for bitcoin usage to fly...
Good point. Looks like op underestimates the potential of the king of the crypto world. I do realize that the current transaction fees and confirmation time when it comes to bitcoin is annoying and expensive sometimes, but this is only a temporary problem. The upcoming integration of the lightning network will help solve these problems to a large extent which is something many people fail to think about.

Also, I advise people to use segwit wallets to store their bitcoins which will further help alleviate these problems to an extent. I am currently using a segwit wallet and an happy with the confirmation time and transaction fees.

I think he still does not know how the updates are coming in the way. Off course  if transaction is slow, surely devs are making their ways to make the transaction fast. Not just in bitcoin but in other alt coin also. They cant just ignore problem just because they are profitting. It is a multi million dollar investment so we have to wait for the update. It is global so we cant expect instant fixes.
145  Other / Meta / Re: Merit & new rank requirements on: January 25, 2018, 04:59:42 AM
Will this affect people who got negative trust? I mean in a way they  having a lot of merits can give you a good image despite having negative trust from dt members. Its like a way to redeem mistake for better of for another attempt?.
146  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 5 altcoins to invest on: January 25, 2018, 03:24:51 AM
i want to split my savings into 5 and invest in 5 altcoins for long term. any recommandation?
Try ethereum, litecoin, Iota, Ripple, and ETN. Although I am not sure in my suggestions, my gut tells me that these coins will be profitable in the future. Try also looking in the internet and watching videos in youtube that will give you tips.

Well ethereum now is at its peak so i think we should lay low for that just for the moment. As for ripple, it is good but we should wait for a very long time for it again to increase atleast 2 dollars. Probably good to buy litecoin now because it just decrease but again it might be too long for it to incrase again at 300$. I am currently hodling more etn than others because the coins is now active and basing on their own site, they pushing new projects for the phone app.
147  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Arbitrage and taxes on: January 22, 2018, 06:58:12 AM
Hi everyone

I have the possibility to do arbitrage but I’m not sure about some aspect that may affect it

Basically to do the arbitrage I will be buying altcoins in coinbase or kraken, transferring them to another exchange,  selling for fiat, withdrawing to a bank account, send the money to another bank account, depositing into coinbase or kraken and do the same again and again ( all this obviously in two different countries)

My questions are:

When I start withdrawing and depositing big amount of money into the bank accounts, will I be in trouble with the tax offices?

Does anyone know if have to pay taxes in both countries?

Any advice will be appreciated

Thank you

-

The tax depends on where you live in the country. according to the tax value of the country you are living in

So you should know the law on cryptocurrency in your country. The best is to have a real life business even if it small and jsut deposit small amount everytime. Dont do it it one transaction if your Real life business cant cover the money you deposited. Most of my money are from cryptocurrency but i made loan in the bank for money to build up my business and slowly paying it with cryptocurrency transactions.
148  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Why are people hiring crypto writers nowadays? on: January 22, 2018, 05:58:01 AM
They have websites with ads on them, what is written is posted there, then with the crypto hype still going on they get enough site hits to make a decent profit on their websites. Pretty much the usual, it's been going on for as long as I can remember.
And that's how they are making more money with those articles that they have paid so they can get the authorship/ownership of that article.

Also there are some devs that are looking for people to write them good for their project, like more of a review and they'll add it to their website, ANN and will display it for good .

I would be glad if someone could enlighten me about this platform where we can earn by posting altcoin articles.
You know it already, it's on the services section, try also at xbtfreelancer.

It not really rare for companies to hire advertisers in many ways. For a positivity, it gives different insights from a totally different person. Because writing articles now are easy and it serves as a refrence for anyone looking for a good coin. Even if it is just a small portion of an article, devs could use them if ever someone would ask for how legit their company is. It gives more trust for anyone who would read the article .
149  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What should I will do? on: January 19, 2018, 08:30:54 AM
You buy ! This is the opportunity the traders are looking forward to. Because they can buy cheap amounts of altcoins and bitcoins. And of course we know that when the price of bitcoins increases again we will earn. So here we must do now.

Yap. Either buy or hodl your coins. Because it wont always be red. After many times of dumping, most coins are now are in the stage of pumping so maybe the price would increase depends on how much was pumped for each of these coins. But their are also coins not found in the top 100 coinmarketcap that is also increasing. So try giving attention to these underrated coins and maybe you would have great profits other than these major coins.
150  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: did you try genesis mining? on: January 18, 2018, 11:40:11 AM
IF you really want mining, buy your own mining rig and dont just depend on cloud mining. After you got your own rig, join pool contract in the mining section. Dont join mining with just your own PC because they will just mine you. Dont buy any upgrades from mining sites saying they would increase you power. They will just take advantage of your IP. Dont be blinded by those referral links. The more referral the more IP's they will mine and absolutely no money for you.

157  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Do you need a service that can transfer your Bitcoin to cash without tax applied on: January 13, 2018, 06:38:40 PM
If you are doing something without paying the appropriate taxes to country then it will be illegal and you will get punished if get caught.Maybe it can be called a money laundering too so please be aware of what are you doing.
But anyways it can't be done because you need bank accounts to transfer money to buy bitcoins,if you are doing this then your transactions will be recorded and you need to pay the taxes. But some countries don't have separate taxes for bitcoin so you may have to pay less taxes than some countries.

Huh? you were right when you say it depends on country and every country has the right to either ban or allow its citizens to use bitcoin. Some may have Real Life business and that is where their asset would come from instead of just telling it that it was from bitcoin. A lot of services in the US and Europe may have some kind of services like that. Because in our country we also have an online bank wallet supported. It is linked to many banks but fees are for transaction, not for the taxes.
158  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Mass Adoption on: January 13, 2018, 05:32:07 PM
For me its a no no. Their will always be coins that would standout and some would fail. Let just say in just 50 years since the creation of bitcoin, a lot of altcoins have already appeared before then and only few of them are here until now and new ones always come either by the same developers or new developers. Price wont become stable but some will change them or be upgraded. And it seems many people are now making their own coins. So i think more law on cryptocurrecies would be made.
159  Economy / Economics / Re: Do bitcoin millonaires deserve their wealth? on: January 13, 2018, 05:13:43 PM
Why not? They have risked their money into it knowing anytime that it can go down quickly or even trusting it when it was really worth nothing. At the end what they risked have really paid off for them and there is nothing wrong with that. They are the people who believed in Bitcoin and didn't listen to the bad things some people are saying to it.  Any person who tried to risk their money in order to earn money deserved their earnings. I don't even know what you are seeing wrong with it.

Agreed. Maybe in the eyes of other non investors, it is just an easy money you wait for your own profit. It is true that others of us are not doing anything but their are a lot of competitions and price changes. Some were frustrated for selling early of not buying early. Others make businesses IRL just to show how much they are earning via cryptocurrency. A lot of failed projects and scams around the web. And deals or SEC rules to be made if you want your project to succeed.
160  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can a country actually ban BITCOIN on: January 13, 2018, 02:50:42 PM
I don't see any technical possibilities for blocking bitcoin...it's unreal and expensive, at least.

Depends on how your own government would view bitcoin. By law it is illegal because mainly it is taxless in some sense. But i think the main reason is that the assets can not be lequidated or it is not a liability by the government. It if were to continue only rich businesses that invested in bitcoin would get rich and not the government itself. Government do fear that the citizens would more utilize bitcoin rather than actualy maky transaction in their own country. Rich countries like S.korea and Japan are making profits with bitcoin so they allow citizens for btc transaction.
