I know it is not Bitcoin problem, but I feel very unconfortable sending my ID scans to exchanges (I feel these ID scans might be stolen and misused). So localbitcoin is better, but the price is higher there.

While they can provide heat, miners have 4 drawbacks: 1) usually no on/off switch 2) not child or pet friendly usually 3) not as cheap as natural gas in some areas for heating 4) Most importantly - hot PCBs and components give off VOCs that pollute the air - these are known carcinogens. 1 miner running 24/7 probably is no worse than new carpet. Having a farm running in a house with no fresh air could cause permanent detrimental health effects.
4) can be solved by an air purifer if you are concerned about VOCs. Home air purifiers will not filter out the dangerous VOCs. They can ionize and capture free ionized elemental particles - they will not filter out VOCs. You would need a scrubber like those found in respirators or activated filters. The only solution to this is constantly bringing in clean outside air. The self contained oil based space heaters don't emit much outside of their metal housing. You can put the mining device to the tank with mineral oil. This way, any VOCs released should be in mineral oil only.

Everyone is just looking at the current price and then making conclusions. This is wrong. The price does not show if bitcoin is popular or not, nor is the adoption growing or not.
Not everyone. The most positive thing more and more places accepting Bitcoin. The number of transactions does not increase much though. This is why I think the Bitcoin popularity grows, but very slowly last half year

I think around $ 450. what do you think about that? It is most likely to be around $ 450, indeed. Finally I see somewhat stable price lately, not the crazy speculative up and downs seen recently.

It is fine to be in denial, but you will feel a little silly once DRK is over $20 USD.
I dont care about future price, if the coin will be really usefull with no other coin offering the same I will just buy dollar equivalent to perform the operation...

Didn't you read the memo?! Bitcoin is virtual gold. It will be used as a currency as much as gold is used today, so barely at all. BTC will be a reserve currency and used only to hold or transfer large amounts of wealth, far beyond what everyday users will own or even need for shopping.
My guess is one or multiple of the alts with billions of coins will actually be used as a currency and derive their value out of the currency function, but it may take a couple of years for everyone to get used to the idea that virtual goods are equal to material goods.
Doesnt make sence. First, it does not matter if coin has million or billions of coins, you just move the decimal elsewhere. Second, if you cant use Bitcoin as a currency because of max transactions per second limitation, you cant use any other decentralized cryptocurrency as a currency neither.

Statistical anomaly? You simply do not turn on 26 PH (about 20 MWh ) just for test.

I'm curious. If you buy X amount of GHs. What is the break even time frame assuming you don't reinvest?
No one know because we dont know future difficulty. From half year for very optimistic prediction to never for pessimistic prediction

OP was last active on: 16-03-2014 I wonder what he's doing now a days? Or just sitting on his desk and staring at the BTC price graph, trying to make a sense of what he did?
Not everyone check the price everyday
