281  Economy / Economics / Re: Are cryptocurrencies better than regular currency on: October 12, 2017, 11:55:55 PM
Honestly I believe bitcoin is better since one you don't use your credit card so you don't loose you needed cash but instead your cash that you could easily earn back from mining. Plus, it's open to all ages unlike credit cards.
Well, when we talk about regular currency, we mean the local money that we have - the coins and bills that we use in buying things we need. Compared to local money, bitcoin is advantageous in terms of its medium - the internet. You can not just buy online using your local money. You need to send the money electronically, and that's the good point about using bitcoin/altcoins. You can buy thing online with ease and no hustle. I also think that bitcoin/altcoin wallets are better than credit cards since not all people can afford to apply for a bank account/credit card.
282  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Fork time / bloody october? on: October 11, 2017, 02:07:53 AM
Is this the beginning? How do you prepare your investments...Huh? Huh Huh
There really nothing to worry about the coming forking. I will just hold my btc and wait for its price to rise up. I also recommend you to buy now (or should have bought earlier) because a week  before and after the forking, bitcoin price is expected to rise up just like what happened to bitcoin during the first forking where bitcoin cash was created. I think bitcoin will hit again the $5,000 mark before or after the October 25 forking.
283  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What is your favorite trading exchange ? on: October 10, 2017, 10:01:28 AM
Hi all,

What is your favorite trading exchange ?
Why do you prefer this exchange ?
Do you trade only with your PC or do you use your smartphone also ?

Thanks  Wink
With all of the exchange/trading sites that I've tried, the one that I like the most is Cryptopia. This site is actually user-friendly. There is also regular updates on the values of the cryptos/altcoins listed on them. The site also allows users to have a 2FA for their accounts, which I think is very important especially for the security and safety of the money of users. The transactions are also fast since there are a lot of users that uses their flatform.
284  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Vs Bitcoin Cash on: October 10, 2017, 08:53:35 AM
I'm utilized to employing bitcoin, since I presently have self-confidence in this currency.Technically, BCC is bitcoin, only improved. But I do not have confidence in this coin. I consider she will both die or the chain will re-unite
Yes, bitcoin will still be the best cryptocurrency, but I don't agree with you saying that BCC is an improved version of BTC. In fact, BTC is still better than BCC in all aspects. I think, your point is that BCC is an OFFSPRING of BTC; It is not fair to say that BCC is an IMPROVED version of BTC. BCC was only created from BTC, and they are different.
285  Economy / Economics / Re: When will more retailers accept Bitcoin on: October 10, 2017, 03:31:21 AM
"Japan: No Bitcoin Tax, Thousands of Stores to Accept the Cryptocurrency"

article published July, 5, 2017
https://edgylabs.com/2017/07/05/japan-no-bitcoin-tax-stores-accept-cryptocurrency/

"AirRegi is a widely used, tablet-based point-of-sale app in Japan. Currently, around 260,000 establishments, stores, and commercial facilities use this proprietary app to accept payments from their clients."

It makes sense that a transition to accept bitcoin would be underway for more US-based stores.
Well, there is already an increasing number of businesses and establishments that accept bitcoin as payment. But I don't think, tax-less bitcoin will be something beneficial at all for these businesses. It's not actually the bitcoin as payment which is being imposed with tax, but the products and the business itself. No matter how these businesses manage the payment for their products and services with bitcoins, they will still pay tax for their products and services, and other miscellaneous fess (e.g. business permit, building/house permit, etc). The positive side of using bitcoin is the faster and easier transaction between the business owners and their consumers.
286  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Waves Vs. Ethereum on: October 10, 2017, 02:53:37 AM
Does any one thinks that Ethereum can survive with the rising of Waves? I've heard that "Waves will be the next Ethereum"
I think, Waves has really a bright future and can be one of the altcoins' big leapers in the coming years, but let's be honest here, Ethereum is way far better than other altcoins. Ethereum is very popular because of its network, and that is no surprise that a lot of tokens/ICOs are based on Ethereum network through contracts. Ethereum has been already here for a longer time than Waves. Waves is a good altcoin, but it won't overtake ethereum.
287  Economy / Economics / Re: Was Bitcoin actually just a Pump and Dump? on: October 10, 2017, 01:33:17 AM
I'll ask you: Why do people (or you) buy bitcoins? IS it only for display? Most people buy bitcoins so that they can use it just like the local money - to buy things, to pay bills, to send money to other people, etc. more convenient, faster, and easier. Bitcoin is not a pump and dump. The price of bitcoin actually depends on the number of circulating supply and how people trade and regulate these. Dumping bitcoins doesn't actually work if all people do this thing. Once all people dump their bitcoin to the extent that no one is selling or buying, then there will be a significant drop in bitcoin price.
288  Economy / Economics / Re: Is it possible for the bitcoin to lose it's value ? on: October 09, 2017, 03:29:53 AM
Hi , I'm new so basically I still have a lot to learn about the cryptocurrency , but I would like to know if it would be possible for the bitcoin to start the downfall ? I mean like what scenario can happen that the bitcoin would be pushed back like 5-6 years ?
Sorry if my post is in the wrong place or it's not relevant.
Yes,  it is possible for bitcoin to be in a downfall, but not to the extent that it will go back to its initial price when it was created. A lot of people have already  put their money in bitcoin, and it isn't possible for bitcoin price to drop drastically as long as these people are still holding on their bitcoins. I think, the only way for bitcoin to lose its value is when exchanges and trading sites close, or when thee exchanges and trading sites remove btc on their cryptocurrency list, which are both improbable to happen. To sum it up, it is possible, but not probable for btc to see its value to drop that much.
289  Economy / Economics / Re: If you have a lot of bitcoin, should you spend it or save it? on: October 09, 2017, 02:24:43 AM
Let's say I have 2.1 BTC And I don't spend it. Will it go up a few cents if I save it? Cause in my wallet I have up to about 50 cents worth of bitcoin. I started up with 13 cents 7 months ago. Now all of sudden I have bitcoins worth 50 cents. What do you call this? I only made that one 13 cent deposit. Nothing else!
If you have some bitcoins, it doesn't mean that you'll always profit in the course of time, especially in investing in cryptocurrency. Do not expect that if you deposit or dump your money in your wallet, your money will grow without doing anything. The change in price also depends on the wallet that you are using, since each wallet supports different exchange sites, and each exchange site has different exchange rate for each cryptocurrency. You can either save your money if you have bigger plan in the future, or spend it if you badly need it now. But if you really want your money to grow (especially if you have more than 1 BTC), try investing in trading sites, and do the risk on your own.
290  Economy / Economics / Re: Can Bitcoin End World Poverty? on: October 09, 2017, 01:22:43 AM
I don't think so. Bitcoin is just another kind of money (crypto-currency) that is used in buying and selling goods and products. Although bitcoin can open a lot of opportunities for people to earn, I don't think it is enough to end WORLD POVERTY. POVERTY is a serious problem of the world. Every generation, from past to present, has been dealing with this problem, but this generation's poverty problem is worse than the past generation. Bitcoin can lessen the case of poverty to some people, but I can't just agree that it can eradicate the world poverty.
291  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Waves future on: October 09, 2017, 12:30:26 AM
What is the waves future?
please share your opinion
Waves is so far doing good in the market. Although its value didn't rise that much, it has maintained its position in the market. In fact, it has improved its value from last year, and is now playing between $4-$5. Waves is also ranked no.18 in terms of market cap at $497,321,000. This only shows that Waves has a bright future ahead of it.
292  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are ICOs scam? on: October 08, 2017, 08:35:40 AM
I just joined an ICO, is there any possibilities that I will be scammed. They have just collected $5-10 million.
You can't say that an ICO is scam or not unless the project starts. ICO (Initial Coins Offering) is the first step of these companies who want to offer their product to people. During that time, they are trying to evaluate how people patronize their project/coin/offers. If there are a lot of people joining the ICO, then the tendency is that the project will be successful. On the other hand, some ICO don't succeed, thus, forcing the company to close after some time. But still, you need to take risk to become successful, too. No one gain without any risk. That's what cryptocurrency world is all about.
293  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who is Bitcoin Gold's Jack Liao and what is his agenda? on: October 08, 2017, 04:45:17 AM
Does anyone know anything about him? A simple Google search says that he is the CEO of LightningAsic. There is nothing written about him besides that.

What is his agenda behind Bitcoin Gold and why is he in such a hurry to do a hard fork before Segwit2x/btc1's hard fork? There are news articles that say BTG is friendly with Core. Ok good, but why is there a need for them to fork as early as October 25? Is it a contingency plan? Is someone from Core really behind this?

He's a businessman, and you know what he's looking for. He's after earning money. He is preparing as early as October 25 (although the full network launch is scheduled for November 1) to get rid of that China banning ICOs.

One more thing, bitcoin is one of the most reliable and always on the top list of best cryptocurrency, so there should be no doubt why a lot of investors are relying on bitcoin-related things like forking from bitcoin. Who knows, bitcoin gold could be the next big thing.
294  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Shall I be a hodler or day trader? Give me some advice! on: October 08, 2017, 03:17:07 AM
Hi guys,

I am considering whether I should be a coin holder, buy tokens and holder them for a long time or whether I shall be a day trader, trade coins on daily basis. If you are a day trader, what is the factor that force you to buy a specific coin? Is is an announced event, burn, conference? What is it?
Invest your money to low-priced coins but with high market cap, and hold it. Trading coins on daily basis is not good especially at this time. A lot of coins and tokens are being offered by ICOs, and some people would try to invest to them. That will leave the altcoins to be stable at the moment. But after these ICOs are done, expect the altcoins price to rise up. I also recommend you to invest on altcoins like Ripple, NEM, and Steem. These three have low value as of now (so you can buy more of these coins), they have high market cap (ripple on 3rd, NEM on 7th, and Steem on 18th), and they have the potential to become more valuable in the coming years.
295  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you still support Ethereum? on: October 08, 2017, 02:24:20 AM
I can't name any other coin/token, which failed more times than ETH. It's not about loving or hating it, it's all about people losing money, because of situations which can be avoided. I would care less if these ETH based projects were not asking money from the masses, but that's not the case. And believe me when I'm saying that Ethereum has some powerful lobbyists. Otherwise its price would be probably 1/5 from the current one.

Didn't we had enough of this?
If the question is: DO YOU SUPPORT ETHEREUM?, then my answer will be YES. But if the question is: WILL YOU INVEST IN ETHEREUM?, then my answer is NO. First, I'll still support ethereum because I believe in its potential. It has reached its peak value this year at around $407. But because of altcoins volatility, people are very careful on investing on it. I won't even invest on it. It's value as of now is $293, which means that there is 28% price drop since it reached its highest point. Still, ethereum is one of the best altcoins in crypto-world.
296  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Alt coins worth buying on: October 08, 2017, 01:31:11 AM
Do people really think ETH will become the next bitcoin?
Personally I'm interested in other projects that do something different.

Care to elaborate on this? Ether is not meant to replace Bitcoin. It's the gas that powers transactions on the public Ethereum chain.
I agree. Ether is supposedly different to bitcoin, but people still compare these two. We can't really blame bitcoin for its slow transaction speed because there are lot of people who are using it compared to ethereum. Ethereum, on the other hand, is designed for fast transactions. It is not fair to say that bitcoin will be replaced by ethereum soon because of the transaction speed.

298  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: is it risky to turn all my money to bitcoins? on: October 07, 2017, 08:36:54 AM
is it risky to turn all my money to bitcoins? anyhow this money sits in the bank and do nothing for!
Yes, it is risky IF you are not watching on the movement of BTC price. Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies are well known for their volatility - meaning, their price might go up or down anytime. If you put all your money on bitcoin, and left it for a long time there in your wallet or trading account, the tendency is that when the price of bitcoin by that time drops, then you'll lose a lot of your capital/investment. It is good if the price of bitcoin by that time rises up, but that's not the case most of the time.

300  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Uber & Lyft to accept Bitcoin on: October 05, 2017, 12:01:02 PM
Should we start a petition to these people?

Imagine the possibility! I think Lyft will respond faster!
This is going to be great. I've already expected this to happen before. With the popularity of bitcoin, there's no doubt that big companies and businesses will accept it in exchange of their services. I've heard that Uber has already started accepting bitcoin as payment for their service. It is not really something new at all since we are using money in paying products and services, but the convenience that bitcoin brings to people is what makes life of people easier.
