162  Economy / Exchanges / Poloniex Data Leak on Twitter on: January 01, 2020, 06:42:13 AM
Poloniex sent out an email requesting password change to users after seeing a leak of emails and passwords on Twitter.

Quote
On Dec. 30, the exchange emailed its customers to inform them that a list of leaked email addresses and passwords could potentially be used to log in to Poloniex accounts. The exchange forced a password reset on any email addresses that have an account with the exchange.

read more:https://cointelegraph.com/news/poloniex-crypto-exchange-confirms-data-leak-after-awkward-email

I speculate that a database from another exchange or cryptocurrency related website was leaked and therefore users that use the same password/email everywhere could potentially be a victim of unauthorized access to their accounts. That's why you should not use same passwords everywhere you sign up and opt for offline password generators; stay safe folks.

The funny part is actually there is some users that thought the email sent by Poloniex was a phishing attempt and not a genuine email  Grin

165  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ignoring Bitcoin Power Waste and the Crackdown on Mining it is about to Bring. on: December 31, 2019, 04:31:20 AM
IMHO, the problem isn't really Bitcoin. The real problem is how the electricity is being generated. Currently, china uses a lot of coal to generate electricity, which is not the most efficient way and has a huge impact too. If people used better sources of electricity like solar panels, hydro-mining etc.. We can definetely reduce the harm that Bitcoin is causing nowadays. Finally,I think that's the way we should think, don't expect Bitcoin to stop using PoW as consensus overnight, it's not going to happen. You'd better be looking after Green coins rather than expecting a change in Bitcoin's consensus  Roll Eyes

167  Other / Meta / Re: Trust Feature idea: give DT1 the ability to remove specific feedbacks from DT on: December 30, 2019, 11:19:49 PM
The idea of making orange feedbacks black if it's negligible is better than this IMHO. Making positive and negative feedbacks compensate is to be considered too like for example user X have Y positive feedbacks,if he is given a negative one, it becomes Y-1 and of course make it in a way that only 1 feedback from 1 same user gets taken in account.

well, i've seen the video and what craig says is a simple , "because i don't need to,i live in england and i have everything"
LMAO , well , just move 0.00001 btc and i believe for sure he is satoshi.
This is the worst excuse I've ever heard lol. Seriously, if he just said that he lost his private keys it would be more credible than this bullshit he is saying for real.
All of the people you are talking about have nothing to do with Bitcoin. It is surprising why you always focus on these people instead of offering useful discussions on technical, historical, or even price predictions.
Pretty easy to answer, when it comes to Youtube, famous people make more views than Bitcoin educational videos  Grin

  • Masterize C
  • Learn more about Blockchain as I'm totally outdated in that field
  • Develop my general programming skills by doing personal small projects with Raspberry Pi and/or Arduino

3. Antibiotics should be taken only when prescribed by your Doctor. They are not a magical cure for every pain in your body. Stick strictly to the dose, and completely you prescription.   Misuse of antibiotics creates an Antibiotics Resistance apocalypse. https://www.nationaljewish.org/treatment-programs/medications/medicine-safety/antibiotics-use-and-misuse
Antibiotics, even when prescribed by your doctor, they should ONLY be used if the illness is life threatning. Why? Because antibiotics kills also the good microbiome in your gut, which can leads to several side effects like slowing down the growth of brain/hippocampus neurogenesis. There multiple research suggesting this, but mostly in rats. Here is a recent one that studied humans: Source:https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/27210745

13. Reduce Salt and Sugar intake.

Reducing Salt and Sugar is not necessary if you already have a normal intake of these two elements. In fact, it's life threatning to have a below normal salt intake. Source:https://www.verywellfit.com/what-happens-if-i-dont-consume-enough-sodium-2507757

175  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: YouTube admits error over Bitcoin video purge on: December 29, 2019, 12:45:49 AM

Is there any reason someone couldn't use both platforms?

It would be a good way to provide value to decentralized platforms, get extra revenue, help them grow, and over time, delegitimize the major players like Google.

Please correct me if I'm wrong but I think your argument is flawed.

My argument is definetely not flawed, let's take for example the current 1st Youtuber,Pewdiepie.Would Pewdiepie, who makes $10 million a year bother using another decentralized plateform at the same time as Youtube for some shitcoins? Even if we neglect this fact, the audience matters too, would Pewdiepie bother uploading content to a plateform used mainly by crypto enthousiasts? No. (Funny fact, fyi he even criticized Bitcoin one time in his video as "something who made people lose a lot of money")

176  Economy / Services / Re: Yobit.net signature campaign on: December 28, 2019, 08:34:59 PM
It doesn't make any sense. I posted 5 posts yesterday after 9 pm and before today 9 pm,only 3 posts counted. There has to be some boards where posts are not counted.
177  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: YouTube admits error over Bitcoin video purge on: December 28, 2019, 08:21:01 PM
D Tube is not a "new website".

It's a decentralised video sharing site that is built on top of the Steem blockchain, and has been in existence for three years. And you can earn Steem for sharing your videos (if people think it's good enough to upvote).

It's kind of strange that people are attacking a crypto project because they are addicted to Youtube and their Google bosses.

I agree with you that's a good initiative, but it's not good enough to convince Youtubers to migrate. Youtube makes a good living for most decent popular Youtubers thanks to ads, decentralized platforms like D Tube can never earn you good money like Youtube. At most, you can earn 40% what you earn in Youtube and this without even taking n consideration the volatility of the crypto market and therefore even those earnings aren't guaranteed.People should understand that being Youtuber nowadays ia a job,if you want to replace Youtube, you should offer the same guaranteed earnings or bigger, otherwise it's not worth the risk.
178  Economy / Exchanges / Re: How do you avoid high withdrawal fees from exchanges? on: December 28, 2019, 07:59:12 PM
If you're fine with submitting AML/KYC information, you might want to try out Bitfinex, as they've already integrated Lightning. Hence now you can deposit and withdraw your bitcoin fast and cheap: https://www.bitfinex.com/posts/440

Yeah,no I'm not keen on doing AML/KYC especially in the big exchanges unfortunately(or fortunately?),I'm not keen on keeping altcoins either.

If you're looking for yobit in particular, I think LTC is the cheapest that you can do.

Exchange your BTC into LTC, then convert it back to BTC on a site like Changelly or Changenow(despite the fact that they're somewhat shady in their own right) which charges less withdrawal fee. That way you're able to circumvent the 0.0016 BTC withdrawal fee.

You could also potentially use XRP as a means, but that market has lower liquidity afaik.

So far,the best method quoted is yours,it's smart to convert to LTC and then use a service like Changelly.

My question is whether there is still an exchange that imposes a fee of that size?, as far as I know the current WD fee is in the range of 0.0005BTC.

If you find exchange with that high fee better to avoid to trader there.
Well, considering you're wearing Yobit's signature, you should know that the WD fee in yobit is 0.0016BTC

Guys,
Does anyone knows exactly what are the boards where posts don't count? I recall that local boards are accepted no? I'm confused with this lack of information about everything.
180  Economy / Exchanges / How do you avoid high withdrawal fees from exchanges? on: December 28, 2019, 05:09:37 AM
Sup guys,

Nowadays the fees to withdraw from exchanges are getting higher and higher, 0.001-0.002 BTC per transaction which is outrageous for a day trader with small trading capital.I'm asking the most experienced of you,do you have any tricks to avoid these fees? I thought of converting the BTC to another altcoin with low withdraw fees and then use another instant changer like SimpleSwap to reconvert again, but is it really sustainable? You tell me. Smiley
