681  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How long between 1st hearing the word 'Bitcoin' and having some in yer wallet? on: February 19, 2018, 09:04:49 PM
This is an interesting stat. I think in many cases it can be several years between someone first encountering the word 'Bitcoin' and eventually winding up owning some.

I assume this process is speeding up as there's now so much more hype and info out there, but it still must be a long time for some people go through the process of hearing about it, learning what it is, deciding to get some and then actually buying it.

As for myself, I first read about it in 2009 but didn't get my hands on any until 2013. So four years for me. Silly me. But I did forget completely and that was quite easy back then.
Interesting topic!
Well, for my case I first heard about Bitcoin back in 2014.at the time I was seeing alot of faucets popping out of nowhere. But I didn't knew what was Bitcoin concept.
1 year and a half later I was using Paypal to deal with payments online and Paypal pissed me off literally, and from that day I started seeking for an alternative. And bingo! I discovered Bitcoin and I was really happy that finally I could replace Paypal.
So yeah, 1 year and half.If only I discovered it earlier!
682  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Any one please make PewDiePie's Brofist coin! on: February 19, 2018, 08:59:15 PM
Sorry to tell you but this is useless,Pewdiepie is just doing everything to get views. What will be the interest of having a brofist coin?
I hate when Youtubers that have influence over their community start talking bullshit and you guys just follow him.Creating coins isn't a game.He is probably trolling if he really wants a coin with a true project/interest behind I'm sure he has enough money to do it byhimself.
683  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Facebook marketing ban - Will google follow? on: February 18, 2018, 06:29:52 PM
Hey all,

What do you think? Will google ban ICO marketing?
How will that effect investers to you opinion?

Further read:
https://www.coinannouncer.com/ico-ban-will-google-follow-facebooks-steps/
That's strange.
It is said that Facebook banned ICOs,new coins from being advertised but I still see ICOs and even ponzi schemes being displayed when I surf through Facebook.
Did they change their mind or the ban hammer didn't kick yet?
I don't think that Google Adsense will follow since as far as I know a big chunk of current ads displayed in Google Adsense are cryptorelated that would make a big lose for them
684  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Poland’s Central Bank Secretly Paid Youtubers to Slander Cryptos on: February 18, 2018, 06:14:05 PM
https://www.trustnodes.com/2018/02/17/polands-central-bank-secretly-paid-youtubers-slander-cryptos

Quote
A Polish Youtuber, with around one million subscribers, was paid circa $30,000 by the Central Bank of Poland, in collaboration with the Polish Financial Supervision Authority, to portray cryptocurrencies in a negative light without disclosing the payment in the video.

Marcin Dubiel, whose video “I lost all my money” has half a million views, portrays cryptocurrencies as a way to get rich quick, to only find out he had no money to pay for a date at a restaurant and was generally left penniless due to cryptocurrency investments.

The video’s description contains the hashtag #uważajnakryptowaluty, a website by Poland’s Central Bank and FCA which portrays digital currencies as risky, having no guarantee, and not classified as electronic money.

The Central Bank of Poland has admitted that “it carried out a campaign on the issue of virtual currencies in social media,” without providing any further comment on the matter.

Nor do they explain why their paid advertising was undisclosed in the video by Marcin Dubiel, who is just one among others who received such payments, including Planeta Faktów, a Youtube channel with 1.5 million subscribers.

Poland’s lack of access, in general, to English language information might make them especially susceptible to such propaganda

Lots of these former communist states are paranoid about maintaining control. Luckily the west is still open to new ideas.
That's not surprising at all.We all know that banks, governments want to take down cryptocurrency and they will do everything to achieve that.
Do you think that FUD being spread by medias is neutral? Ofcourse they are paid to do it.People should learn to stop getting influenced from media, youtube, social networks.
685  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The KYC scam on: February 17, 2018, 06:25:04 PM
I believe the projects are using KYC as a ploy to not payout after bounty hunters have already done the work.  I see more and more of these surprise KYC requirements after the work is done.  This is clearly being done to seize the funds of the bounty hunters who are not willing to give personal data to god knows who.

Very clever trick. They are trying to use us then ask for requirements which go directly against the movement.
Personally,
I don't think it's a scam.Simply because people nowadays are abusing the referral system by self-referring,using proxies VPN and such..
When asking for KYC,they assure that no one cheated in the bounty and making everyone getting his part of the cake.
There is no point in making referral bounty if 1 person gonna self-refer over and over. That won'tbring any value to the project.
686  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do Banks fear cryptocurrency on: February 17, 2018, 06:19:08 PM
Yesterday the Central Bank of Albania issued a warning about the uncertain and unsafe nature  of cryptocurrencies
They called on people not to get involved. Should we be afraid or the banks are!
Ofcourse they fear it.
Simply because they know that Bitcoin/Cryptocurrency can destroy their banking system.Nothing has been a threat to the traditional banking system until Bitcoin showed up.
And trust me,they will fight against it with every way they could, they are already doing so.Banning,Spreading FUD on media etc..
687  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to kill Bitcoin? on: February 14, 2018, 06:58:21 PM
Huh
I searched how to kill Bitcoin on the search box and saw nothing, so I'll just start a new one.

Is it true that miners are the one responsible for every transactions?
If yes; why didn't the government of China just ban cryptocurrency mining or am I just missing something out?

If there are no transactions or maybe just less than 10 made transaction happened within 24 hours, how will the mining computer work then?, will it just go idle? What if people decided to hodle their coins, will it be unfair for the miners?

 Huh

Banning mining won't kill Bitcoin, because the difficulty will be adjusted depending how many miners/mining power are available,so if only few bunch of miners still mine,Bitcoin would still survive(Satoshi mined by himself in the beginning)

I think the only "possible" way to kill bitcoin is to kill internet worldwide. (An impossible thing because countryies economy is based on internet right now and banning Internet is a suicide)
688  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Facebook banning All crypto ads!! on: February 13, 2018, 10:49:39 PM
Sudden I hair a news that Facebook banning All crypto ads. If that's true,  Will  be negative for our Loving Bitcoin (all over crypto)?
I also see a News.

We are cryto lover people, but why Facebook did that? What's the man reason?
They did this, because alot of scam projects are popping out everyday and they are being advertised on facebook.People got scammed and compalined about it to Facebook.
Since Facebook can't make the difference between a good porject and a bad one, they just banned everything (ponzis, hyips, scam coins etc..)
And I agree with them to be honest.Alot of people still don't know about crypto and they get scammed that will make them hate cryptocurrency.
689  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why Media is negative about Bitcoin? on: February 13, 2018, 10:39:05 PM
Whenever a government announces to regulate bitcoin or cryptocurrency or whenever BTC price is in downfall, most of the media start to warn everyone not purchase or invest in Bitcoins.
https://www.bitex.in/a-class-of-indian-media-unnecessarily-damaging-bitcoin-reputation/

What is the reason for doing this? Do they intentionally do this so that even they can invest in Bitcoin and make some profit?

I do not think that they do this so they can invest on Bitcoin and make profit.
I think that governments are behind media and they ask them to do such things because obviously governments are against cryptocurrency and bitcoin since spreading fake news and panic is the best way to fight Bitcoin...
And another thing is that Bitcoin is trending now, so making "click-bait" articles about it will get them alot of money from the traffic they'll be getting..
690  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you like airdrops? on: February 13, 2018, 09:42:28 PM
Hello guys!  Wink

Today I wanted to ask you, what do you think about airdrops?

As for me, I work in the KickCity project and recently we launched airdrop. I do really like the result! We have a lot of newcomers and new people who are interested in the company. If you want to join you can ask the team in the community https://t.me/kickcity_chat

SO  Shocked

Are you taking part in airdrops? Do you like the result? What is the feedback?
Or maybe you are working in a project launching airdrop?
Yes I do like Airdrops and I take part of almost all of them. Why? Simply because it's the easiest way to build your cryptouccrency cryptocurrency for a little amount of time.
Also some airdrops that succeeded generate a big chunk of money for just doing small tasks like register, tweets etc...
So in my opnion airdrops are well worth it.

694  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Islamic Bank of Bitcoin{}بنك بتكوين الاسلامي on: February 04, 2018, 01:36:09 PM
what's the point for creating this bank and why it's islamic  ??
Because Islam has regulated everything in their follower's life including the economic system, so they need a bank based on Islam regulation or rules, for example, Islam prohibits riba ( riba : when you give me a 10 $ loan, but i have to pay back 15 $, the 5$ is riba ) hmm but i don't know that it is necessary since i heard that in arab bitcoin is banned by the mufti, they said that transaction with bitcoin is haram.
Should bank-making based on Islamic religion that can be made by complying with all the rules in accordance with the teachings of Islamic religion. Some rules like usury should be abolished and the purpose of bank loans is only to help many people without expecting more pay or interest. The Saudi Arabian announcement of bitcoin as a forbidden thing is one of the bad news for bitcoin, but I think everything we get from halal things will make it halal. Everyone has different views and I think we should respect each other's opinions. Islam teaches us to a tolerance, everybody's opinion should be appreciated.
If it's true that Saudi Arabia banned Bitcoin because they think it's not halal, then they are deeply wrong about this.
Bitcoin is more halal than banks monetary system, as it is proven mathematically proven that you own Bitcoin while when having money in your bank account, you don't really know how banks use that money ( lending it, doing unknown projects etc..)
695  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin mania hurting PC Gamers on: February 03, 2018, 01:58:47 PM
Nowadays its been a bad time for PC gamers to build their new gaming PCs as graphic cards prices have increased due to the short of supply of GPU cards mostly due to crypto miners buying them in bulk quantities to mine cryptocurrencies. In fact, all the mid and high range graphic cards from AVON and Nvidia are in short supply.

Nvidia has even advised its retail partners to give priority to gamers instead of miners but it seems that retailers turn a deaf ear to such advices since they get impressive margins by selling graphic cards to miners.

It seems that this situation would continue until crypto mania exists due to increase in crypto coins prices.
As far as I know,Bitcoin can't be mined through GPU.You can mine Eth, Zcash , Monero and similar cryptocurrencies with GPUs.
Also, now alot of chinese brands are popping up, making quality GPUs for an affordable price so Nvidia and gamer brands would get less pressure when chinese brands will enter completly the market.

697  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Pump and dump collective? on: February 03, 2018, 12:49:12 PM
So i had an idea with really no know how on if it could work or how to implement it but here goes. I have been trading on BTC-e and i see that all the markets are controlled by large coin holders they pump and dump leaving the little guys screwed. So what if a large group of  us little guys got together and formed a Pump and dump collective and took the power out of the few large coin holders hands? could this work? Would it be profitable? How would we go about forming and controlling our group? Flame away.... Wink
You need a lot of people doing this, especially if you are going for small amounts. There is alot of telegram/discord groups doing this by the way, you can either join them or make your own group and promote it ( if you really know what you are doing)
But from my experience pump and dumps, even if they are well organised it's risky
698  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Sold my bitcoin at around 15000 dollars advice needed for old timer on: February 03, 2018, 12:46:18 PM
Coinbase? Paxful? I dont know what sites are still good nowadays in the united states and trust worthy?

Please any held from an experienced member!
Since you are in the united states,I would say the best way to go is to buy from coinbase since it's reliable but don't keep your funds there, transfer them to an external wallet ( desktop wallet or hardware wallet if you can afford it ; more security)
Don't forget to take security measurements when holding your bitcoin in external wallet ( like electrum per example)

700  Bitcoin / Press / [2018-01-31]Venezuela:Mining is Perfectly Legal on: January 31, 2018, 10:12:21 PM
Quote
Venezuela’s government has said cryptocurrency mining is now “completely legal” as it plans the presale of its Petro coin for next month.

In comments during a TV address quoted by local news outlet TeleSur, the country’s newly-dubbed ‘cryptocurrency superintendent’ Carlos Vargas confirmed that citizens mining Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies were not breaking the law.

Last year, Venezuela made headlines on several occasions after reports emerged that police were cracking down on mining operations, accusing those involved of sapping power from the national grid.

“It is an activity that is now perfectly legal,” Vargas announced in a dramatic U-turn.
