601  Economy / Economics / Re: choose an option on: November 05, 2023, 08:16:35 AM
At the moment all of my little savings monthly go to bitcoin and sometimes a part of them on altcoins. So definitely I am choosing C or $480k worth of bitcoins even at the current price which is still around 50% below its previous all-time high. But I might sell a little portion of it and convert it into Ethereum and some other altcoins. I will also end my monthly DCA on bitcoin since I have enough.

The second option would be $480k lumpsum. With this amount, I will increase my monthly DCA on bitcoin and some altcoins. Say $50k monthly on bitcoin and $30k on altcoins. I'll stop when bitcoin reaches $50k or once I no longer have enough funds.

Business and other types of investment only follow by the year 2026. So I'm still sticking to my earlier plans even with the lottery winnings.
602  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: November 05, 2023, 07:33:40 AM
Suns are 2-4 right now, lost twice to Spurs, and now lost to 76ers as well, looks like there is something wrong there. Doesn't mean that they are going to keep going like this, they could end up getting a win too, they could even do better on the long run and even win the title, just because they had 6 games doesn't mean they will keep that badly. However, we need to reach to a point where Suns needs to figure something out. Warriors are looking amazing, their starting five was already great, getting CP3 for bench is an insane move, he is way too good too be bench player, they somehow convinced the situation to be a little different. I think it will be something very good for them, they are still contenders if you ask me.

The season might be too early but it also doesn't mean that teams especially those star-studded are expecting a slow start. Losing close games is understandable but the Suns lost badly at home against a weak Spurs and then a double-digit loss to the 76ers. They have no rest and they need to travel again to Detroit so they might lose again although they are facing another weak team.

The Bucks are also 3-2, losing to weaker teams earlier. There's still plenty of time to figure it out but there will be movements before the trade deadline if things aren't changing in these super teams.

GSW started well but I am still unconvinced that they can maintain the top 3 seed in the West. The same with Dallas, Kyrie has been a disaster over the years since leaving Lebron.
603  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tyson Fury vs Francis Ngannou Boxing October 28 on: November 05, 2023, 06:57:52 AM
Out of curiosity I finally watched the replay of this fight. I was already a little sleepy but I became more sleepy watching the fight so I stopped scoring the fight. What a shameful performance by Tyson Fury. My hat's off to Ngannou. If only he was a little younger and had more time to practice the sport. There were a lot of close rounds in that fight that could go either way. Fury landed more but Ngannou landed the heavier shots and judges have their own ways of interpreting fights, especially on close rounds.

Here are the official scorecards. There are 5 rounds where the judges did not have the same assessment while in another 5 rounds, they unanimously agreed to each other.

Here is the punch stats of this fight. Maybe it helps in assessing the fight. Based on the stats I had it 95-94 for Fury.

After watching the fight I just can't believe the Saudis spent around a hundred million dollars for such a boring fight. Boxing just lost some casual fans that night. If only they watched the low-budget title fight of DAZN at Cancun, Mexico on the same day they would've stayed. The 11th-round exchange between WBC super featherweight champion O'Shaquie Foster and Eduardo Hernandez might win the round of the year.
604  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Ryan Garcia vs Oscar Duarte (December 2) on: November 04, 2023, 12:13:33 PM
Added to the undercard is Ohara Davies vs. Ismael Barroso.

I think this is a good undercard by GBP, Ohara will make his debut in the US soil against a very tough Barroso who recently fought Rolly Romero. But it was a back and forth fight and the referee stop the fight and it was somewhat a big controversial.

And this will be for the WBA Super Lightweight Interim World Championship so expect a lot of fireworks in this fight.

This is great addition indeed, I like to see Davies as there are a lot of hype win this boxer. I have to check his boxrec though and see why is the hype or at least what the fans and boxing writers are really creating a lot of noise on him.

But it could be a big mistakes for him if he is going to face the veteran in Barroso. Although usually this tough fighters are really on the sunset of their careers and he could be a good stepping stone for Ohara to make a impression on the American audience.

Another corrupt sanctioning body doing another magic trick then. I am confident Ohara Davies will beat that joke champion Rolly Romero. I don't even understand why the WBA allowed Rolly to face a senior citizen for the vacant belt when there are Ohara and other high-ranking fighters. It's all about money and politics nowadays. I think Davies is mandatory and is overdue for a title shot but the WBA is allowing PBC to hostage the belt. And knowing how weak Rolly is, PBC won't let fighters from other networks just beat him and gain some fame.

But this is a good fight knowing Barroso was winning over Rolly before the referee saved PBC's baby boy. This one should be for the real WBA belt and not for the garbage interim belt. But we'll see if Ohara can easily beat Barroso. Ohara beating Barroso with ease though will only make PBC and Rolly more scared to comply with its obligation to face him.
605  Economy / Economics / Re: AI will put an end to work, says Elon Musk on: November 04, 2023, 11:53:43 AM
I am not a fan of Elon Musk but obviously, a lot of us can say the same. AI will not only grow in the future but it also develop into something big which will become a necessity just like the internet. AI will continue to replace human workers but not the entirety of course but it could take most of the jobs in the future.

I am not worried for myself. But people should seriously start being more responsible in starting a family. Children in the future will have a harder time getting jobs without having college degrees. People in the future should stop relying on the hope of getting a job outside their country because most of these rich countries are the ones to start using AI.
606  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Would you rather make your investments in FIAT or CRYPTO? on: November 04, 2023, 11:32:16 AM
After years of experience in the crypto space where I had a share of bad and good memories my confidence only grew. Just imagine putting your savings on fiat 5 years ago and then comparing it to the current bitcoin value. Which fiat grows in value big time? I guess most fiats lost their value since they can be printed by governments.

I have kept some Singaporean dollars here since 2019 and the current value is 4% more than my local fiat which is not bad knowing the high inflation in my country. But if I put this money in bitcoin? At that time bitcoin was around $8,800 and currently, it's $35k which is nearly 400% growth. Not considering that bitcoin already reached $69k last 2021.

But to be fair, diversification of investments is always the best advice. Invest in crypto, especially bitcoin. Keep some fiat for urgent needs and the rest put them into something stocks, etc.
607  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🕹️ Esports 🎮 Prediction & Discussion Thread on: November 04, 2023, 11:12:50 AM
Meanwhile, ESL Kuala Lumpur will start its qualifiers in more than a week. Maybe most of the teams before that are settled already with their line-ups. But the biggest question to me is how will DOTA 2 fare next season when the DPC points system is taken out.
Let's just wait about the new DPC season while Valve is just setting the timing of it. Whilst for the ESL Kuala Lumpur, we will see teams that are already composed with their roster.

For now, most of them aren't seen yet and I am just waiting for them for most of the regions there. This is interesting as we're going to see the debut of those teams that have a new set of roster.

It's also interesting to know that ESL is providing a qualifier in the MENA region which seems to be the first time. But knowing how rich the region is, some teams can afford to sign good players from different parts of the world just like what Saudi is doing in soccer. I also read the news earlier that a Saudi team wants to create a super team.

I hate to say that the game might continue dropping down in numbers but maybe there are new ideas and innovations next season that will provide a much-needed boost.
I am optimistic about the next season. Although this past one is disappointing but thanks to Team Spirit for saving the hype and making more players and fans still interested in the game.

Yeah, a TI without OG, Nigma, and Team Secret probably has fewer fans than the previous TIs. But thanks to Team Spirit a former champion which is already familiar to most TI fans. GG, Liquid, and LGD also made that event competitive and exciting.

Fully recognizing the MENA region pretty sure will boost DOTA 2. Maybe more events hosted and sponsored by the countries in that region.

Ame is expected to return to the DOTA 2 scene this season. It's crazy though when he said that Valve should merge NA and SA since they only deserved a single slot.
608  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Beginner needs your advices in gambling. on: November 04, 2023, 10:29:05 AM
If I were you I would try many casinos because it is best to experience them yourself. Just use minimal amounts, hop into different casinos, and see for yourself what fits your taste most which is something I also did before.

For a good start, you use the casinos that are promoted by the members here since almost all of them are building reputations in this forum. Just avoid those ones worn by members with a negative or red mark in their trust profiles like 1xbit.

You can also try BK8, it also has a lot of games and great promotions.
609  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Which exchange has the most easy to use app according to you ? on: November 04, 2023, 10:09:58 AM
IMO Binance is the most crypto-friendly including doing cashouts to my local currency without fees so I have stuck to it for some years already. Regarding the other features, I believe Binance also has the best to offer. Since it is the biggest crypto exchange in the world it has an enormous budget to innovate and not be left behind by its competitors. The good thing about Binance is it continues to work in getting more permits from many countries around the world and hopefully, my government will be one of them in the near future.
610  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Do you still advised more buy and store? on: November 03, 2023, 09:53:18 AM
This thread was created last April this year. If OP followed most advice to continue storing bitcoin regularly then there's an expected income minimum of 20% of the total capital.

The point is that most experienced bitcoin investors will continue to buy and horde until or even after bitcoin halving. Bitcoin cycles in the past always led to ATHs a year after the halving. So even at the current price of $35k, there is still a huge room for growth. Even reaching the previous ATH of $69k is already 200% of its current price. But most are expecting another ATH by 2025, who knows how far bitcoin will reach that time? The good news is, we still have plenty of time and opportunities to save and invest.
611  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will you gamble till old age or not on: November 03, 2023, 09:30:36 AM
If you are still gambling in your old days then you lived a unfulfilling life already because at a young age you should have set your strength in your dreams and goals, by old age I expect you to be relaxing and enjoying the little time you have left, remember that every thing about you at that time is old, your age, your heart and your brain, you shouldn't be gambling at a old age, and now that you are still young its best to work smart and harder so that you won't have to keep trying to make some money at a very old age, that's not a good thing to pray for.

The younger you are the higher your strength, this is why it's good to stay focus and avoid wasting your youth days on things that doesn't matter, the best time of our lives is our young age, once you passed that there is no going back, some people are full of regrets because they wasted their time, do not be like such people, do something that will keep bringing you money if when you are old and can't work anymore.

So you really think that gambling is a means of making regular income? I thought gambling is a means of entertaining people. I visited land-based casinos and old people are also there. They looked rich and they were entertained while playing games. I also noticed that the majority of people who play bingo in the mall where I usually make groceries are old women. I observed they were fetched by cars and some of them even had servants outside or strolling inside the mall while waiting. So I assume those people were successful otherwise they wouldn't play for big amounts of money. I would never judge old people gambling as having unfulfilled lives.

I dream of getting old having a farm and a business. And I will continue to gamble responsibly especially betting on my favorite sports.
612  Economy / Economics / Re: Population: Economic strength or weakness on: November 03, 2023, 07:52:57 AM
In the end, the best level of population depends on a country's economy and its ability to provide them with great services while at the same time good employment with standard compensations.

At the moment, the top 3 most densely populated countries are Monaco, Singapore, and Bahrain. These 3 countries are also very rich. Based on the IMF records of GDP (PPP) per capita, Singapore is 3rd, Monaco is 4th and Bahrain is 24th. But as we also noticed, these countries are just very small, especially Monaco and Singapore which looked like metro cities.

Bigger countries with a huge population density however are mostly developing and poor. Here in my country, millions are forced to seek jobs overseas due to the lack of opportunities and lower compensation.

Shopify Rebellion- After another very poor season I won't be surprised if the players will finally disband.

I have said this for YEARS: as long as Bulba is in command of this team, they will NOT get any success that they deserve. Mechanically gifted players held back by a coach that has the knowledge of the 2016 Dota scene and hasn't evolved since then.

Lol! I have the same opinion on Bulba. I still don't get it he remained with them for many years already. I even began to wonder if he has deep connections with EG's management or ownership. I was glad that Shopify Rebellion was formed but only to be surprised that Bulba is still with them. Cheesy

It's interesting to see that post-Harden Philadelphia is doing well with a great start. They are currently 3-1 with their only defeat against the Bucks on the road whom they only trailed by a point.

The Pelicans once again are playing strong especially if they are complete. But while the season just started, Zion was rested against the Pistons today. So it seems like there is something wrong with his physical condition once again. It will be very sad if he suffers another season-ending injury. And this season starts Zion's nearly $200 million 5-year contract.
615  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Stevenson vs De Los Santos - Nov 16 on: November 03, 2023, 04:53:42 AM
This pops on my social media, Stevenson is fuming mad about "Suga" Sean O'Malley, UFC's bantamweight champion. It seems that Sean wanted to fight Shakur? Recently we have seen Francis Ngannou almost upsets Tyson Fury.

Since a crossover fight has some big profit, they are making some drama to hype the fans and make it seem like they have a beep until they finally meet in the ring. This is just business and I can't blame them if they wanted to have such a fight since they are still in their prime and their popularity is quite high, they are using it to make money and that's just how the way it is for them. It's obvious that they are hoping to fight in the Middle East as well where the payment is a juicy and life-changing opportunity.

This is also what I'm thinking when I saw news about Suga O'Malley mentioning Shakur Stevenson as his possible opponents in the future. I mean he wanted to follow the footsteps of no less than Conor McGregor who become one of the most successful MMA fighter who did go over boxing and fight Floyd Mayweather.

And perhaps this is a insurance for him that if he will ever retire from MMA, then maybe he could find a worthy opponent in the future that could bring him money. And currently, Shakur is very hot so why not Suga uses his name and hype it?

If only Dana is paying its fighters at least half of what boxing stars are given then maybe its fighters won't dream about getting humiliated and knocked out in a boxing fight. All of them want that big money of course. The Pink Poodle is still under a UFC contract but I am sure that once it is coming to its end he will start to negotiate with the big names in boxing like Shakur and Tank.

I am happy that Ngannou got those big bucks. And another round of at least $10 million is on the way since he only lost to a very close fight with Fury which means the demand continues. So far both Matchroom and PBC are vying for their bids on Ngannou to match him against their own stars AJ and Wilder. But as much as I like Ngannou to score an upset over Fury, I still believe that he just had the perfect night while the champion had his worst night. I'm sticking to my earlier assessment that Ngannou can't still beat any of the top 10 in boxing.

..
Does theymos have a patent for signature campaign such that no other forum can replicate what is happening here without his permission.

That's a crazy greedy idea mate. Do you really think it is possible to patent paid signature campaigns in a forum? It's like having the sole right for athletes to wear logos and other printed advertisements on their attires. So millions of athletes worldwide need to contact the person with the rights in order to ask permission or pay fees? Even the invention of medicines can be copied after a period of time to push for cheaper and affordable generic medicines, otherwise, poor people and countries will be deprived. You need to change your mindset mate. Grin
618  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Don't Force Your Children to Learn Bitcoin on: November 02, 2023, 11:24:57 AM
In modern countries, this is not even a topic due to its obvious answer. But in many developing and poor countries, people will try to groom their children into something too early giving them no other choices to discover their inner gifts and skills.

Just today I saw an online friend posting about how young his 16-year-old kid retired into amateur boxing. The kid last month won a silver medal in our yearly national tournament which is already a huge accomplishment. But deep beneath, I can feel that the kid does not want what he is doing. My friend own a boxing gym before and he loves boxing which is why he wanted badly for his kid to become a boxer.
619  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: November 02, 2023, 11:00:13 AM
There are too many games to break down (imagine 13 games 😮‍💨), but I'll focus on the two NBA teams that remain undefeated this season - the Dallas Mavericks from the Western Conference, who didn't even make the NBA play-in tournament or the playoffs last season and the Boston Celtics from the Eastern Conference both 4-0 standing. The current NBA standings also show Western Conference dominance. Most of the Eastern Team 2-3 standing 😂.

Which of this two team will be the last undefeated this season? Celtics or Mavericks? 🤔

Same here, the undefeated teams and how long they can stay that way is what interests me most for every start of the regular season. I did not expect the other top teams to lose this early. Boston Celtics is probably the one that stays unbeaten. Next for them are road games against the Nets and Timberwolves.

I have little expectations for the Mavericks, they're out of the playoffs since the arrival of Kyrie Irving and might continue that way. So far they only faced weaker opposition which is why they are winning games. They have a 2-day rest before traveling to Denver where they will be tested if their undefeated run is a fluke or not. Denver though won't have a rest day when they face Dallas. But I'm still planning to bet on Denver.
620  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tyson Fury vs Francis Ngannou Boxing October 28 on: November 02, 2023, 09:19:10 AM
Real boxing is still alive and some say it is getting bigger and better while some say it is dying or slowing down. It's a combination of both because financially boxing stars are getting huge paydays which I believe are just too much, reason why legendary networks like HBO and Showtime are leaving boxing. In terms of PPV buys, boxing numbers are decreasing. I agree with Bob Arum that PPVs as much as possible should be prohibited or at least their prices should be lowered to 50% to 75% of their current rates. Politics in boxing is becoming bigger and it is stopping the big fights from happening. Before, there were only HBO and Showtime and the promoters could work both. Nowadays, there's DAZN, ESPN, and Showtime (soon leaving boxing) and these networks have exclusive deals with promoters establishing their own stars and fanbase.

The entire entertainment industry is changing, with sports being part of it. People are moving away from watching television in favour of shorter, more intense, on-demand entertainment like they get on social media. A lot of people, myself included, often choose to just watch highlights for free, rather than spend long hours watching the entire events live.

Add to that the growing popularity of MMA and celebrity boxing and no wonder the traditional (aka "real") boxing is losing numbers. But I don't think it's at risk of dying out completely. The promotors would have to go more toward building boxers' popularity and selling the story, rather than relying only on the sport's value.

True. There are a lot of entertainment options now for fight fans nowadays. I still watch fights live but only for championship fights that are also not mismatched or late-noticed opponents.

MMA continues to grow big. Even UFC PPV events have higher numbers than many boxing events although big portions of the proceeds usually go to Dana and the UFC. MMA might start to have its own backlash soon once organizations come close to each other and fight fans' demand for some cross-organization fights which would be more difficult to make than boxing's networks and promotional feuds.
