341  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why people are holding Bitcoin? on: August 05, 2017, 07:34:15 AM
Quote
... the price fall is more than the rise

WRONG.
you need to look at the bigger picture.
right now you are just looking at a short period of time where bitcoin price has came down a little. if you look at a couple of months you can see a rise from ~$880 to $2900 and right now it is sitting between $2200-$2400.

even if it falls more it will still be much much higher than the couple of months ago.

with that said, did you get your answer to why people hold bitcoin

I agree. Bitcoin price drops to a very low value few years ago. But it was able to recover and now its on the way to $3000. As long as people continue to use this cryptocurrency it is possible that it will still rise its price. And people are just waiting for the right time they think they can earn the amount they want through converting bitcoin. They're holding it up to now because they think it is not the right time yet. Still patience is the key to this.
342  Economy / Economics / Re: Is bitcoin now the strongest currency in the world? on: August 05, 2017, 07:01:34 AM
Nope, it wouldn't take a whole lot to get the numbers to start going down (compared to other currencies).

As much as it pains me to say it, this is the truth.

Now, it does have the capability to become the strongest, so do take that into account.
I agree. Even it has high market value, it can't be the greatest currency. Only a part of the world accepts bitcoin. It doesn't even legal in some countries. It can only be the strongest if after it has been legalized in every country of the world it retains its value and can be used for offline transactions in other word, in every day living
343  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why is the price of BTC still so high eventhough BCH is going up on: August 05, 2017, 05:56:19 AM
Maybe its like this. Because the number of btc has lessen, the price went higher. On bcc, since it has few numbers, and the first thing they do is let the receive bcc the same amount of btc in it, based on internet. We don't know how much bcc has been in wallets as of now, they consider it as demand and maybe a lot of them are on the account, that's why prices go high because they think those are demand. Nice strategy to make.
344  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do You Go to Land Based Casinos? on: August 05, 2017, 05:37:14 AM
I don't go to land casinos. Besides there's no casino in my place, i'm not fond of casinos. I know people who goes to places like that, i heard them talking a lot about losing than winning. And also they had bad habits, when  they win, they spend a lot on beers and other alcoholic beverages, but when lost, they are bad tempered and get angry easily. That's the another thing why i skip casinos
345  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: can bitcoin wallet be hacked by hackers? on: August 05, 2017, 04:53:37 AM
Yes they can. There are many professional hackers there. They can dig their way in to your wallet. Even if it seems so impossible, they can find ways. Some hackers are smart enough to find vulnerabilities of the most secure security, so those wallets can be targeted if they seem interesting and even it take time if their determination is strong enough, they can get through it.
346  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you know game like pusoy or tongits? on: August 05, 2017, 04:22:46 AM
in my opinion this game sounds are very interesting to try if this game can online because to my knowledge this kind of gambling games, usually played by Philippines. but if this card game could be directly into most online games is very exciting because it's a game like pusoy or tongits. not wrong if you want to try it.  Smiley
I still haven't saw a casino that is offering this game. Yes, pusoy is one of the most popular games in the Philippines and seemingly like poker. As other nearby countries or casino's will try to adopt this game and will start their gamblers to play for it. I know that card gamers will surely like this game as I've experienced to play it.
I visited those islands means the Philippines, Singapore, Malaysia and visited the real casinos but I did not find this games. I even not try this game. Let me try once and this game profitable or it also depends on our luck like slot games. I don't try luck based games because I am not a lucky guy.
You should try those two. Though luck also important this game, strategy might work as well. Luck here only makes you win easily. But if you have strategies and techniques to use while playing, you can win the game especially in pusoy or chinese poker, as they say. Unlike those of luck based games, its not when you're unlucky, you lose. You can turn the table around and win the game
347  Economy / Economics / Re: Is it possible for the bitcoin to lose it's value ? on: August 05, 2017, 03:53:17 AM
Hi , I'm new so basically I still have a lot to learn about the cryptocurrency , but I would like to know if it would be possible for the bitcoin to start the downfall ? I mean like what scenario can happen that the bitcoin would be pushed back like 5-6 years ?
Sorry if my post is in the wrong place or it's not relevant.

Bitcoin lost %80 of its value after the GoX crash in late 2013. People panic sold their coins in despair. The price fell from over 1k$ to as low as 200$ in time. The recovery took very long time but those who hold their coins won the jackpot. Even the top buyers made at east %100 profits since then.

Can bitcoin lose its value? Yes. Only for a time.

In the long run, there will be a recovery as always.

The Solution: If you won't be able to deal with the pain of holding bitcoins for long years, only hold the amount you can afford to lose.
I agree.Yes it is possible. But not totally lose all of its value. It may just experience crisis like deflation, which will cause bitcoin's price dramatically go low due to so event that takes place. It is unavoidable because it just go through a cycle. When it is high, some might become interested to it and do something to get it. If their ways are wicked, they may cause it to crash, producing problem to it. As the problem arises, an amount is needed to solve it, it depends on how big the problem is, causing deflation
348  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think? on: August 05, 2017, 03:17:53 AM
I don't really see a point of those type of people trying to use Bitcoin to purchase whatever they want since they're already rich. Bitcoin does not have any weight to it when showing somebody the amount of coins they would have, if they show how many paper money that they have then people will get jealous and is more than likely to be controlled by the holder.
I agree. They have sufficient amount to spend to satisfy their needs. What's the point of getting bitcoins if they have much money which much more convenient to use for daily transactions? Another thing is why they have to risks their profit if they can obtain that in their own jobs or businesses with assurance. Besides the risks, These type of people have no time to spare, i think they can't afford to lose time in this kind of business
349  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling. Is It Wrong? on: August 05, 2017, 02:48:59 AM
It is not bad to gamble. As long as you you don't offend anybody else and your not abusing yourself. You should gamble in moderation. The wrong here starts when you get addicted to it. When winning you'll crave for more until you lose all of that, and because you want to get your money back, you'll find  ways, that may cause bad things. It maybe stealing, loaning and cheating, until your life become wasted
350  Economy / Economics / Re: When to buy and sell bitcoin on: August 05, 2017, 01:59:49 AM
When is then best time to buy bitcoin and when do you think is the best time to sell?
I think its a great time to buy now but when is a good time to sell (if you have any idea please share)
Between 7 am and 10 am I would say. That is when I get the best prices..... I am kidding, if you couldn't tell.

There is no set time for when you should buy or sell Bitcoin. It really just comes down to your gut feeling on whether the time is right or not. Studying price graphs may help you out in the slightest bit, but no one can predict the future and tell you what is going to happen to Bitcoin.

I am a strong believer that you should just buy Bitcoin whenever you have the funds available. Like killyou said, the demand for Bitcoin is rising rapidly but there is only a set amount. As more people want in, the price will rise and soon, you will be "sitting on a gold mine".
I agree with this. The bitcoin attracts more people every single day. These people maybe traders, buyers, sellers and others. Upon increasing their numbers, it also increases the demand on its fixed supply, hence, based on the law of supply and demand, as the demand increases, supply decreases, but since bitcoin is convertible and just consumable only online,  its supply will not be depleted because it will just go back to the suppliers in the internet and goes on in cycle. But the fact that it became more popular, the demand itself will cause its price to inflate.
351  Economy / Economics / Re: could bitcoin be replaced by another crypto currency? on: August 05, 2017, 01:01:40 AM
At first I thought it was impossible for Bitcoin to be replaced since it is the first cryptocurrency, but you are right, some altcoins may have better features than Bitcoin and people may prefer them instead.

Here's an analogy, lets imagine all cryptocurrencies are like mobile phones. Bitcoin is Nokia, and started the mobile phone trend. And soon after everyone started using Nokia. But brands like Blackberry, Samsung and Apple soon created their own phones, and Apple made a major breakthrough with a touchscreen function, where everyone gradually switched to that after a while, and now Nokia is outdated.

Bitcoin has our trust now, but other cryptocurrencies might overtake BTC in the future. Smiley
I agree with this. Well said. Chances are chances, it mustn't be taken for granted. Even how small that chance, as long as it is not
i do this question because i´ve read in this website issues with bitcoin, slow mining process, high fees, etc. and i´ve read too good reviews of some altcoins, ethereum (smart contracts), ripple (for transfers between banks), dash and nem. these altcoins called 2.0. could bitcoin become just in future virtual gold reserved to companies and rich people?

There is a possibility. However the probability of this ever happening is quite low.

In all of cryptocurrency's history, bitcoin has always been the number one crypto. Litecoin, Ethereum, Ripple have all come close but none have ever overtaken it. I believe that the reason this is the case even though you can see that Ethereum has more functionality, ripple is able to do interbank transactions and already have partners, and litecoin being cheaper in transaction fees and faster in blocks is that bitcoin has a reputation that no one else has.

All these altcoins are built on top of bitcoin's blockchain technology. Bitcoin was the first to implement it, it has a wider community etc. You barely can find one person that is involved in altcoins but not bitcoin. But you'll find lots that only believe in bitcoin, but not altcoins.
I agree with you, that there is possibility. However, no matter how small that possibility is, chance is chance, it mustn't be taken for granted. That small possibility can occur as long it is not zero. Though those altcoin are in great disadvantage with bitcoin, they can think ways on how to turn that into advantage. Those people are not just nobody, they make altcoins because they can, they have the power to compete with each other. And if their efforts produce results, results that are better than bitcoin, then bitcoin will become the alt coin and the dominant one will take its place.
352  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can bitcoin survive? on: August 04, 2017, 10:03:26 AM
Bitcoin experienced problem few years ago, and still there, though we don't know if that's its worst problem, as long as there are enough people that will continue to support and transact with bitcoin, then it can survive. It only needs attention and action in order to continue its operation. However, people always search for the better, if they find something better than bitcoin, then they will switch to it and this might be the end for bitcoin and that's what alt coin is trying to accomplished, to match or even overpower the bitcoin's capability
353  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: If money would not be a problem, would you still gamble? on: August 04, 2017, 09:08:32 AM
No i wouldn't. I'm not fond of gambling. And also, i would rather use my money in worthwhile activity than losing in gambling. And even if money wouldn't be a problem, it would still be a problem if you lose to much of it. Gambling is just trouble. Nothing good will come through it. Though through gambler's perspective, thinks they can get something from there, it is more of taken than given. There are chances of winning, but those are chances, chance to win and chance to lose. I would rather get some activity that will give 100% income, than of those with high risks
354  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: To Gamble or To Invest? on: August 04, 2017, 08:22:09 AM
Both ways are risky. Those two can't assure 100% profit. Those ways depend on luck because its just a matter of chances. Even you have strategies, your profit will still depends on your luckiness If its your lucky day, then it is. If not, then expect worse things to occur. Its the one way or the other, to win or to lose, to earn or to deficit.
355  Other / Off-topic / Re: Job Vs Bitcoin on: August 04, 2017, 03:16:38 AM
You must focused on both. One of these two will serves as you insurance. You'll never know which one will crash and go down. It is better that you have an ace that will back you up when time comes. Besides, it is obviously important that you have to balance your time and effort on these. This is a very wise decision to make because it will give you opportunity to work and earn even if you fail on any of the two
356  Economy / Economics / Re: Money above all things, Yes or no ? on: August 04, 2017, 02:41:01 AM
Money is indeed important, obviously. It is needed in everyday life, It is needed to satisfies one's need. But however, there are other things beside that are more valuable than money. Life doesn't evolve around money. There are things that essential in life but doesn't require money to be satisfied. It does need only simple things to be accomplished.
357  Economy / Economics / Re: How long could bitcoin last? on: August 03, 2017, 12:07:02 AM
As of this time, bitcoins remains stable even after the release of bitcoin cash. There's no sign of any problem on bitcoin. If bitcoin remains on this state, it would last long. However, since some events are unexpected, we'll never know long is that "long" will take. It may be a day, week, month, year, decade, century or even millenium, based on the sequence of events that may affect its effectivity

359  Economy / Economics / Re: The future of the paper money on: July 27, 2017, 11:17:12 PM
Bitcoin can be the future of the paper money but I think it will need a few decades more because the bitcoin progress is not that fast for the world will be able to adopt and now 2017 several countries are accepting bitcoin so I think after few decades it will be more popular.
I think ita right, bitcoin become paper money and it needs  more years because at this time they can't compete to the other currency like dollar, especially the currency of own country. Some store are not totally familiar in bitcoin and for them they much better to choose the popular currency or the paper cash, because some store are small and focusing only in their business, they have no time for discovering things.
360  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Where to learn how to trade on: July 27, 2017, 07:43:25 PM
I'm very thankful that I have a friends, friends who are there to help me in the bitcoin. They are the reason why this time I know how to trade, they guide me in the trading, they give me the site for the best exchanger then they advice me if this is the right time. Lately I have allot of token but I have no idea on how to become this a fiat, then they teach me the procedure and they explain it step by step. As a beginner it is not easy, the price is so unpredictable.
