1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: EWBF's CUDA Zcash miner on: October 14, 2017, 08:31:36 PM
@_EWBF I'm unsure if you check your PM's and this is from what I have tested so far not a very critical issue so I will post it here.

The HTTP API is vulnerable to a "Denial of Service" attack.
MINING OPERATION IS NOT AFFECTED

The miner statistics HTTP API in EWBF's Cuda Zcash Miner Version 0.3.4b hangs on incoming TCP connections until some sort of request is made(such as "GET / HTTP/1.1") which allows for a Denial of Service attack preventing a user from viewing their mining statistics by an attacker opening a session with telnet or netcat and connecting to the miner on the HTTP API port.

Code:
telnet [MINER IP] [HTTP API PORT]
nc [MINER IP] [HTTP API PORT]

As long as you keep the connection open and don't send any text the HTTP API is inaccessible.

Not that big a deal, as soon as the offending connection is closed or a request is made by the offending connection then the API processes the next request in line if it hasn't timed out.

Although I have managed to entirely stop the API from responding to TCP requests a few times even after an attack has ceased, requiring me to restart the miner to regain access to the HTTP API, mining operation was not affected.  I'm having a hard time replicating taking the API completely out, seems somewhat random when it works.  But the main issue mentioned above it easy to replicate.

MINING OPERATION IS NOT AFFECTED

https://github.com/wine-compholio/wine-staging/wiki/Installation

Closest to running on linux is using wine-staging but it throws constant errors.

Maybe someone with more time can figure it out if a Linux binary/source doesn't come out soon.  I am not a Wine expert by any means.  In a similar bit with GPU's I've only ran scallion through mono.

7  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Vanitygen: Vanity bitcoin address generator/miner [v0.22] on: March 11, 2017, 01:07:52 AM
I run my gpu's headless rackmounted with my other servers, and the 4u's arent on sliders.  Too much of a hassle to drag an lcd out and install windows for testing, or to do a headless windows install and vnc or something.  Will build an amd pc eventually, im just an nvidia fan since the tdp is better.  I figured theres enough community to test amd from all the miners.  EDIT: And to clarify I don't have an AMD card to test right now.  Feel free to donate Smiley.

Show output of program using verbose flag -v

Got it work finaly : 86 Mkey/s sustained

It was driver related?

Please post a solution.  Many have a problem with this card on linux.  Thank youm

They worked for me... I don't know, I'm done testing as well, got stuff to do.

Try setting the grid size, I have a feeling that will help since it did with oclvanitygen and its running the same deal.

Anyone wanting to try it here:

https://www.sendspace.com/file/3bv2rh

This is NOT an official release and a very buggy testing release

One binary included does not have https support and one does, note: the binary without https support does not work with vanitypool as it does an https redirect for http requests. this is a result of attempting to upgrade some libraries and it being a late night

YOU MAY NEED TO INSTALL VS2015 runtime
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=48145

and maybe vs2012 rt

I'm only putting this out here because maybe its what someone needs right now is just something that works.
11  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Vanitygen: Vanity bitcoin address generator/miner [v0.22] on: March 09, 2017, 07:43:31 AM
oclvanitygen.exe -v -1 -C BTC -o 1Donation.txt 1Donation -D 0:0,grid=2400x2400

Try adding -D 0:0,grid=2400x2400
or -D 0:1 whatever your GPU shows up as.

If it doesn't work drop to 1200x1200

See if it makes a change.

Global memory is odd, my tests don't show that.  Unfortunately I can't test GPU in a Windows VM no pass through, I just test GPU on Linux and OpenCL CPU on Windows VM...  Will have to eventually build a dedicated Windows box for testing...  Sigh.
12  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Vanitygen: Vanity bitcoin address generator/miner [v0.22] on: March 08, 2017, 09:58:35 PM
Excellent thanks.  Will try to get out a copy of oclvanityminer soon for you to test.  Pm me your email address if you dont mind or i can contact you here.

I have a releases page i linked.  What method worked?  Downloading from the releases page which doesnt download any source just the binaries or what?
14  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Vanitygen: Vanity bitcoin address generator/miner [v0.22] on: March 08, 2017, 09:33:22 PM
Ok so release zip file works, repo clone doesnt?

I'll look into the miner.  Was in a rush to get to work what int were you saying to convert to a long.  Didnt have time to read logs.
15  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Vanitygen: Vanity bitcoin address generator/miner [v0.22] on: March 08, 2017, 09:08:03 PM
Ok thats strange

I'll look into it.  Thanks for the feedback.

Can you try to delete and reclone the repo and see if it works this time?

I couldn't replicate this in my Windows VM albeit Intel CPU OpenCL... wondering if it was just some sort of file corruption.
16  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Vanitygen: Vanity bitcoin address generator/miner [v0.22] on: March 08, 2017, 08:59:57 PM
So my fork of oclvanitygen works for you now?

It is just oclvanityminer thats broke for you?(which I don't include in my Windows release)
17  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Vanitygen: Vanity bitcoin address generator/miner [v0.22] on: March 08, 2017, 08:14:11 PM
Do oclvanitygen.exe --help

If it isnt v1.41 then download and try the latest release
https://github.com/exploitagency/vanitygen-plus/releases

So the original oclvanitygen does not work for you either right?

Thats funny I have a GTX 1070 and my fork works great for me.  Albeit testing on Linux.  The Windows version has only been tested with Intel CPU OpenCL by me in a virtual machine.  Others seemed to have success as well.

Thanks for the feedback hopefully I can do some more testing and figure out the issue.

Vanitygen hasnt been updated in a while by samr7 but you can check out my fork with this fix or wyseninjas fork

https://github.com/exploitagency/vanitygen-plus

If i forgot to add this pr just open an issue and i will add it to my repo and include it in next release.

yes but this is just vanitygen not vanityminer..

maybe you can fix that one too?

didnt catch your using windows, I'll compile a windows release of oclvanityminer later on in week if i get time, click on watch repo and you'll see when it comes out
