1  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin October Month Performance on: September 29, 2023, 12:15:28 PM
What do you think?
How much will Bitcoin pump this October? 👀

October could be the month we have expected to see the bitcoin market price rise from where we are currently to about $35,000 to $40,000 since the last days already have been showing some significant steps to rise as we've attained $27,000 already, if this is maintained then there's every likely possibilities that the bitcoin market may rise more gradually till we get there before the end of the October.

If we look at the historical logs, yeah it might be possible, but I don't think that we can simply rise to $35k-$40k in just one month. My conservative estimates could be around $30k at least.

However, market could be very volatile, so it's 50/50 that we might hit that numbers or not. There could be something big that will push the price to go to $30k though so it's important to see what will it be. Or another black swan event that might dampen the network and break the pattern of October right after the next block halving year.
2  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading can ruin you on: September 29, 2023, 11:58:28 AM
Trading is most times profitable and sometimes challenging to traders, but it can ruin you just as gambling if you don't know how before venturing into it,  I have had a handful of terrible experience while trading and I discovered that it can return you to square one in terms of your finances if precautions is not taken.

Though am a better trader now, but I still thred with caution,  the best way for newbie to navigate their way in the market is to buy and hold, then sell when the price goes up.
When it comes to future market, newbie should stay off because it's for experience traders, even if you run a poll of people to tell of their experience in trading in this forum, %80 of people will rule out trading as a no go area based on their terrible experience while trading.

So newbie, stay of trading futures if you know nothing about technical analysis or fundamental analysis for not to be ruined.

Just to be fair, anything in crypto has risk though, specially in trading because we all know how volatile the market is and we don't know what and where the price will go and then you have to look at a lot of factors. There could be trading bot that can help you, but still it's not enough if you don't have the experience yet under your belt.

And if you will hear successful crypto traders, they are in unison that it is really very hard in the beginning and it will take years and years to be able to make a profit and be a successful trader. Others compare it to gambling because of the huge risk involved.
3  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: "revival" of bitcoin on: September 29, 2023, 11:25:34 AM
Perhaps OP has a had time explaining as English is not his first language. Anyhow, if he is talking about "burning" Bitcoin? doesn't make sense at all, it's all based on supply and demand already.

And with the amount of lost bitcoin already, sooner or later it will really be scarce without actually "burning" it. So the price could really take off specially next year when we have the scheduled block halving that will make bitcoin go into a bull run and new all time high.

As for banknotes, there's no correlation whatsoever to bitcoin.
4  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: September 29, 2023, 11:13:01 AM
They also signed Usman Garuba as well, not sure if he is the replacement for Dwight Howard or not.

Still young compared to Howard, the Warriors can still develop this player. He may not be very offensive, but in terms of defense, I think he can help. He averaged 4.1 rebounds per game last season with 12 minutes of playing time, which I believe is okay for a backup center. For me, I would just trust the Warriors in their decision. I wouldn't speculate too much. What's important is that they made a good move by trading Poole, which was basically one of the major reasons why they failed in the last playoffs.

Yes, that's what I also thought of the Warriors getting the Spaniard as he is young, so there is a big upside on him, lots of potential if properly developed by the Warriors program, just like what they have done to Kuminga so far.

As compare to Dwight who has a lot of experience under his belt and could be some issues down the line as we all know that Dwight sometimes make so many antics inside and outside of the court that might distract the Warriors or they might not get what Dwight wanted to.
5  Economy / Economics / Re: How do you deal with financial stress? on: September 28, 2023, 12:30:14 PM
I agree that the impact after Covid-19 is the worst where the economy in many countries is affected and the unemployment rate is getting higher. Luckily enough for me I still have a job now and coupled with the income from this forum I am quite optimistic that I can get through this difficult time. Even though it is quite stressful for me to finance my various needs and pay off debts from last Covid, I still believe in my strength and God will help me through this difficult time. The point is to keep believing that we can get through this difficult time because that is the most important thing to stay positive.

It's really have a big impact on every economy, however, I would say that I'm one of those who are lucky enough to have a job during that time but it was tough though. I mean we really have to get something during that time as we venture into business because of the situation, like face mask and other essentials.

But compare it to the 2008-2009 financial crisis? I lost my job that time, when everyone was assumed that we will keep our jobs, however, after 2 months, we all get laid off. So very hard and you need to hold on to everything including God to be able to get thru that hardships in the pandemic.
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are decentralized domains still a thing? on: September 28, 2023, 11:53:43 AM
IMHO, their prime is done.

I have seen that a lot of people have been enthusiastic and optimistic about that but that's just there being over there. I don't think that it will be peaked again.

However, there's this thing that I am considering. Remember AI? They've been there for so long but it's just like got the stop light last year or two. Maybe a come back can happen for these decentralized domains in the near future but nobody knows.

Yeah, way back is the the thing, the latest craze and there are many speculations and predictions that it will be the future. However, if you look at it today, 2023, no one is talking about this kind of projects and I will also say that decentralized domain names is now dead to it's knees.

And it's obvious that this kind of craze is comparable to fad, that after it has mature and somewhat people get tired of it, it will be simply forgotten. And if there is another one in the horizon, then people will go to the next hype, that's why crypto works, unfortunately.
7  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: September 28, 2023, 11:41:56 AM
I just saw this on Facebook.: Rudy Gay has agreed on a one-year deal with the Golden State Warriors.

https://www.facebook.com/NBA.updates4all/posts/pfbid02akbi8ucCxXD5C97zonDD6A9QHZ3WaCBRSsjbfQjKwZ9FoU1BefoxWqHRzD4gQ3ttl

I thought this guy was already done in the NBA but it looks like he still has a contract, unlike Dwight Howard who humorously claimed to be with the Golden State Warriors this season.
Rudy Gay averaged only 5 points per game while playing an average of 15 minutes last season.

This is an interesting signing by the Warriors… I don’t see Rudy Gay giving them many minutes this season, but maybe he could come in and get a few buckets when they need him to. Personally I think Dwight Howard could have helped the team much more and played a larger role, but maybe Gay has been drinking from the fountain of youth.

It was said that Rudy might mentor Kuminga as they have the same position and so maybe with Rudy's vast experience, who knows, maybe a couple of minutes in the game and also he might be hitting those big shots as he is also a good rhythm shooter during his time.

They also signed Usman Garuba as well, not sure if he is the replacement for Dwight Howard or not.

Another as well is Rodney McGruder, a 7th year veteran to added some depth in the back court.
8  Economy / Speculation / Re: $31450 proves too strong for Buyers, but Sellers may only dominate below $29400 on: September 28, 2023, 10:52:03 AM
Investing in bitcoin right now requires extra patience, the price keeps falling and it looks hard to go up, but for me this is a good opportunity to buy more, there's nothing else to do now but keep buying so we can get huge profits on the halving day will happen in 2024.
Of course, continuing to be corrected is an opportunity to be able to buy and hold it for the much-anticipated time. When it increases according to the expected desires, it is possible to sell it and make a profit. There is a time when Bitcoin will also increase, and I agree with you on being patient because Bitcoin's character is like this, where it will continue to repeat itself. The halving era is just waiting for the time when there will be changes and improvements, and it's time to be able to gain profits if we believe in it.

It's good that you have funds put aside in case that the price is going down or there is correction. However, the opportunities has been persistent for months now because we are trading sideways and the current price of $25k-$26k is still very cheap.

So it's a great opportunity for everyone, and hopefully there are investors who are not just waiting for the price to go down hard again as last year because it might not present itself and this kind of opportunity will not arrived. Moral lesson is that we should buy and accumulate so that we will be ready when the bull run arrives mid next year.

10  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Learn how scammers capitalise on a trending coin or token. Save your funds. on: September 27, 2023, 09:17:31 PM
Scammers have been using trending projects that have done so much gain to deceive investors and scam them their money. After the trend of the Pepe meme coin scammers used the opportunity to develop shit coins like Pepe Killer, pepeki, and pepe2.0  to scam investors of their money because they know any investor that missed out on the Pepe meme coin would not like to miss out on the next meme coin that bears almost the same name with Pepe meme coin in the crypto market. Stop investing in a new project that has almost the same name as an existing meme coin because they are in for your money and will not deliver anything of what they promised their investors.

Not just about pepe coins that is trending right now, but way back, you can see the scammers also try to capitalized with names of Elon Musk and others to try and bait investors to deposit some money on an address and they say that they will double it. Some fell for it, and so it's a hard and very expensive lesson for them.

Also, know that investing in meme coins is a gamble, you might end up losing everything you invested in meme coins because it is a pump-and-dump coin. Another thing to look out for when investing in meme coins already trading on a crypto exchange is the amount of gain that meme coin has done to know if you are buying at the top because that meme coin might never pump again, and you will end up holding a worthless coin in your wallet.

This is so true, perhaps there are investors here who made some money out of pepe in the beginning. But we all know that it won't last, so the best thing to do is for them to get out while they have the projects. But for majority of investors who doesn't want to take the risk, or have a moderate appetite in investment, those meme coins and shit coins are not for us.
11  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin - what are we expecting for the rest of 2023? on: September 27, 2023, 08:55:59 PM
We are in the third quarter of the year and the year is far spent to the ending. And the price of bitcoin is still low to some extend. Though there is an indication that the price will go up from any moment from now. The price was $26,800 today and suddenly came back again. And my expectation of bitcoin price before the end of this year and early next year is $40k this year and $45k early next year.

If the price of bitcoin climbed to $45k early next year then there is a possibility that the price will reach $55k to $60k early 2024.

It's because we are still in the last leg of the bear market, but still good to see that in the next couple of months or at least the end of the year, the price is not going to see another lowest low or there are no more negative news that will put selling pressures for everyone.

I expected to be around $40k-$50k at the end of the year, but it seems that it will not get to there. Nevertheless, still good that we are somewhat around the $26k numbers and not going for another low. So just take it easy, as the price might go on another sideway patterns till the end of 2023.
12  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: September 27, 2023, 12:23:48 PM
And if I'm not mistaken, it was supposedly the East that should dominate last season, with Giannis had a good run with the Bucks in the regular games. And also Boston Celtics, who has the formidable duo of Tatum and Brown and then former Celtic defensive specialist in Marcus Smart. And then the Sixers with Joel winning the MVP and James Harden at the helm.

But the Nuggets has total different mentally in the West. They take the lead, the Suns, Warriors and the Lakers falter with injuries and it seems the focus that time is Lebron breaking Kareem's record. So let's see if the East can bounce back again and win the NBA trophy for this season to even up.
I think this could be a good question! I was also hopeful that the East would win last season, but that didn't happen.

I'm really looking forward to seeing the Celtics play soon (even if it's preseason)
I have no doubt that Tatum, Brown and others will do everything they can to become champions

I feel like the Celtics had their chance and now the window is closing. With Smart gone a major piece of their team is missing. Plus a lot of their guys are getting older and while Tatum and Brown are still on top of their game, I don’t see them improving enough to make up for the rest of the team’s decay. They need another piece to get by the Bucks and Sixers.

I agree, perhaps it was the best Celtics that we have seen in years, I mean Brown is averaging good points and Tatum playing MVP caliber and Smart doing his thing as a defensive player. Bucks too, but what an upset by the Heat and Butler proving himself as a playoff player. But it might be different this year as their core or at least 2-3 players are out from that team that goes to the NBA finals.

But I do agree, without Smart now as their leader, Tatum will have to lead all the way. And if he can't do that, then the doors is going to close for them as there could be a lot of chances right after this season if they can't go to the Finals with this lineup.

I am interested in providing my website users with the option to pay with Bitcoin.

What are the steps and recommended plugins or APIs for implementing Bitcoin payments on a WordPress website, and are there any security considerations to keep in mind during the integration process?

My website is https://unikplakat.dk

I hope you can point me in the right direction to get started on the Bitcoin implementation.

I found something from our community, Apirone.com - crypto payments gateway (just a disclaimer, I'm not related to this project).

14  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: September 26, 2023, 11:11:06 AM

Yeah, just one spark may lead to Klay and Booker being in the hot zone again where they will talk trash. When that happens I want to see how Chris Paul will react. Will he choose sides or will he just be silent and stay between them and separate them? So it's a game that I won't miss since they will only meet 4 times this season.

We only see a few of those kinds of altercations in the NBA, and that adds to the excitement of the game, actually. Klay vs. Booker, there's no way I will side with Booker, even though he is the better player. Basketball is a team game, not an individual one. Booker may boast about his stats, but Klay will just remind him of his 4 rings. I think Booker needs to win a championship first.

If not for CP3, the Suns wouldn't be a playoff team, that's a fact.

It should be that CP3 now being a Warriors is now on the side of Klay. Funny thing is that when Booker talked trash, the team losses. Just like in the playoffs when him and Luka did have their own rivalry and trash talking. But at the end of the end, the Suns has no answer for Luka. But now with KD at his back, for sure Booker will open his mouth more this season, I reckon.

But it's going to be interesting to see, Booker and KD against the Warriors maybe in the finals of the West and it's a hard playoff series. It's early though, there is still the defending champions in Nuggets that this 2 teams has to reckon.
15  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Zhang Vs Joyce II WBO Interim World Heavyweight Championship on: September 24, 2023, 03:11:22 AM
Zhang retains his interim heavyweight title by KO in round 3. The Chinese fighter had a much easier night than their previous match. Zhang is slow and technically deficient but Joyce had no defense and ate too many heavy punches which he was not able to resist. He is still Usyk's mandatory but I see his possibilities of winning as very slim. At 40 years old he is not going to improve enough to beat a top pound for pound fighter.

And I think the strategy of Joyce or at least from this trainer perspective is for him to gain extra pounds,  as he weight281.2 pounds, 25.2 pounds heavier than he was for their first fight.

They think that adding more pounds might help Joyce absorb that power. But it just makes him slow, and most likely not playing defense because again, he thinks that he can just take that power and not be affected by it. They are completely wrong as there's no doubt that Zhang has power and it seems they still underestimated him in the rematch.
16  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Canelo Alvarez vs Jermell Charlo - September 30th in Las Vegas on: September 24, 2023, 02:52:41 AM
I do agree that it was a big surprised that this names become the an undercard and then it will be for the interim belt. Ugas has been exposed already by Spence during their fight. He is lucky that he caught Manny during their fight, I mean Manny didn't train for him, so Manny wasn't able to tailor his strategy for a Ugas fight that's why he upset the legendary boxer.

But against Spence, it was a different Ugas, he was just fighting in the pocket, although with Spence mental lapses, he almost got to score a knockdown.

Anyways, I disagree with Freddie Roach though, I do not see Charlo winning by a knockout, maybe if there is a upset here, it should be in the judges scorecard that might favor Charlo.

The only thing more insane than Freddie Roach's prediction is the fact that Mario Barrios is somehow getting another opportunity at a major title. His most notable accomplishment is winning a very questionable decision for a secondary WBA title against an unknown fighter with only 7 fights. Somehow he goes on to headline two PPVs and is now featured on a Canelo undercard fighting for a belt which has no reason to exist since Crawford is the undisputed champ and is not injured. The sanctioning bodies, mainly the WBC and WBA, don't even try to hide their corruption by allowing their favorite promoters to dictate which fighters are given the opportunity to become champion regardless of how deserving they may be.

That is so true, the likes of WBC really started the whole politics and favouritism and corruption in boxing. And it's obvious that Barrios is not a top level boxer at 147 lbs and yet get the title even if Thurman has defeated him and then Ugas coming from a big lost to Spence.

It's really insane to hear what Freddie Roach said, however, he made a lot of predictions as well in the past if my memory serves me right and it didn't go as want he has said. So I would take it with a grain of salt.
17  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Could Satoshi have known? on: September 23, 2023, 07:11:08 AM
Maybe we are wrong to think that Satoshi never had the thought that bitcoin was going to become very volatile and people were going to be able to make money from how the  price of bitcoins changes easily. Satoshi is someone that has insight and was able to make this system that has been able to survive and is doing well after a long time of creation, do you think that it never occurred to him that people may start investing in bitcoins instead of really using it for buying and selling?

For sure he knows that as well,

Quote
"When someone tries to buy all the world’s supply of a scarce asset, the more they buy the higher the price goes. At some point, it gets too expensive for them to buy any more."
- Satoshi

So in a hindsight he foresee that at some point, it will be traded, i.e. buy and sell, supply and demand and that it will be expensive, as just what we have seen in the last 2 halvings, and in this incoming 2024/25 bullrun, we might see for the first time the price hitting 6 digits.
18  Economy / Speculation / Re: Share your opinion on the market. on: September 23, 2023, 05:50:58 AM
The market is not going anywhere. You would think that by end of September it would have a trend at least but it’s just trading sideways.

Wonder if we will get another November 2018 event where we trade nowhere and then out of the blue we have a huge dump. Price action is very similar to those days when we were bouncing off the $6K support.

I agree that we will be just going on a sideways, I mean if I'm not mistaken, after reaching $30k last March, April was a sideway patterns for many months until we have some break out run in June, but still we haven't had that sustained run.

However, I do not see a November 2018 event here, we are just months away from the halving. Maybe this is just some sort of calm before we will have the halving for next year and then the eventual bull run. So most likely, this will be our price till the end of this year.
19  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Inoue vs Tapales for Unified Super Bantamweight Title - November on: September 23, 2023, 05:35:37 AM
He needed to excel and plan a good strategy to execute. Inoue is by far from the last opponents that he
fought before. Inoue is quick and very wise type of fighter. He will analyze you and will plan for a good
strategy during the fight, then execute to take you down and win the fight.

So I guess that will be the strategy again, he will try to outbox and out punch Inoue. He will try to be the volume puncher here early and uses his boxing skills to try to keep Inoue at bay and not execute his strategy and then try to avoid a knockout, but it will be very hard to do against this version of Inoue.

Very hard indeed as Inoue is very quick and wise, he will notice that and will re-counter back and take his chance, so it will be a test for Tapales to create a better version of his strategy.

And Inoue is really improving, and we can say that he is still not in his prime, he could still developed and be lethal in the next 2-3 years of his careers and could be just destroying anyone in his path including 126 lbs.

A good mental and physical competition between the two title holders, though bookies and most fans
expect that it will be all the way for Inoue, those who love risking money and are willing to gamble for Tapales
will also expect something from him.

Tapales should really be preparing for his mental as well, I do agree. Most of the time it's more of a mental fight and he should this during his fight and most likely why he was able to upset Akhmadaliev as he believes in himself.
20  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Inoue vs Tapales for Unified Super Bantamweight Title - November on: September 22, 2023, 04:15:37 AM
Everything really points out that he will be the favorite here and most likely accomplished a second unification champion.

I think the right term to use here is "undisputed champion".

This is an article that explains about the specific fight.Inoue Vs. Tapales For Undisputed Being Targeted For December

Inoue has become an undisputed champion in the bantamweight division, and now he is in the super bantamweight division, aiming to achieve the same.

That's right, because whoever wins this fight will probably hold all four belts and become the undisputed champion.

Here is the list of belts and the champions who hold them:

WBC: Inoue
WBO: Inoue
WBA: Tapales
IBF: Tapales

Now, we will only have one champion after this fight, and the next step for the champion is to face challengers before moving up.

Yes, he can choose to stay and defends the belt, but if you look at others who have unified it, going to be very hard. So the best recourse for them is to really vacant some of the belt as obviously as I have said, very difficult to defend it.

One, each body has it's mandatory challenges, so just imagine the unified champion trying to fight all the mandatories in a year, so that is not possible. Second, boxing politics, boxers will choose which body is the best for them, and choose that fight, lets say it's WBC so he will have to maintain his WBC status. So the other bodies will force their way as well. So the champion will have to vacant at least 2 of the belts and maintain the belt that he likes or at least there is some sort of prestige having that belt.
