Had anyone troubles with mining with s7 on f2 pool.?
Looks like their hash rate is not stable and gives out 2-3 TH on 80% of observed units (b7).
Only few from 10 work as promised.
But When working on antpool they all hash 4,8 TH.

I guess the question is why would you be mining on F2 and Ant? Supporting the Chinese that don't care about the future of BTC and already own more then 70% of the world hash. So many better pools to pick from.

Most big pool miners do not want the variance risk.  On smaller pools.  Sad as they cause the problem and do not realize it.
I support a lot of small pools and  when I look at the math of :

all pay better then antpool or f2pool.  but not enough people mine  at them.

They simply do not understand math .

Sounds hard core but it is true.

Now I have 1 s-7  it mines at f2pool inside of my friends old bank.  He still leases 1 floor and I am teaching the game to him in case he decides to   go large in Washington state with a few investors.  Maybe 10ph in gear.  I know they won't want to go to a smaller pool as they do not want variance. So I am showing him why I would use a pool like Kano's  for now we are pointing where he wants which is f2pool.

I hope to get him to move it to kano.is this thursday.

Very true and sad, on a daily basis yes the variance is higher but over 15-30 days not so much, if you are running 10PH or more, then every point matters and getting PPS less 4% sucks, just to get the same payout daily? Over 30 days you would be 101% or more on Kano. If these big guys were on Kano for the last 70 weeks, they would be at 103.9%. For every 10+PH miner that moves to Kano or other small pool, the variance reduces. F2 and Ant can't come close to block change times and thats an advantage Kano and Solo have over all others.

with all due respect, it is nothing that it s a guarantee of some sort that you will score above or even 100% at that pool going forward.
In fact, if it was above 100% for a while, one would think that at some point it will be below 100% for a while as well.
Of course, with a higher hashing in the pool, variance will decrease.

Previous luck has no effect on future "luck". Being over 100% doesn't mean you need to go down to balance out.

Should be simple enough... Ask him:

You: "Do you like making the most money possible?"
Him: "Of course"
You: "Well then you need to get off f2pool and join kano instead"
Him: "Are you sure?"
You: "Yes. You'll make, 3.1% more by switching"

4000 watts and 3 S7's should run fine- you have plenty of headroom

I am stable running 3 avalon6 on a single 2880, I suspect I will run into those issues without proper cooling. Shocked

I ran 17 amps x 240 volts = 4080 volts for 3 ½ days

2 scythe fans cooled the  dual psu  zero issues

i was doing 2 avalon6's and one s-7

4080w x 0.89 = 3631w DC, so you were still under the 4000w spec.

I've run 2 DPS2000 for about a week pulling 4500w DC from them and they didn't even blink. They are super tanks, massively overbuilt. The fact that you can adjust the OCP protection up to 196A via a trim pot should give you an idea.. These guys were overbuilt and under speced to 2000w in order to get higher efficiency I believe. When you're running at 100% 2000w capacity, it's likely that you're only actually using ~80% or so of the PSU's capacity.

Great to know, thank you!

No problem! 2 of these along with your dual breakout board is probably the best way to power miners today IMO. Could even make it a 5000w setup with your board using DPS2500 instead, and get slightly better efficiency to boot.
I am looking for a link to the dps2500 I would be willing to test it here.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/IBM-BladeCenter-DPS-2500BB-2320W-Power-Supply-Unit-39Y7400-39Y7405-/172011963911?

this seems to be it .

Hi Phil,

That's the one. I have one too many DPS2500BB and I was looking to get rid of it. I'd happily sell it to you instead of listing it. I'll beat that price on eBay by a bit, and you get a known good PSU. I ran it loaded at 2200W DC for a week and a half to stress test it when I received it. Could have it shipped out to you as soon as tomorrow. Let me know. Smiley

Don't mine on that garbage Chinese pool. Literally anything would be better than f2pool. (except other Chinese pools like antpool)

446  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: 3x S3 on a DPS-1200 at 120v? on: January 18, 2016, 05:22:55 PM
Waiting for an electrician to run 220v subpanel in my mining location.  Currently all I have available and unpopulated is a 20a 120v circuit.  I'd like to run 2xDPS-1200 on it, each powering 3xS3, but I know that may be pushing the PSU a bit hard given 120v input.  Have any of you ran something similar?

The PSU is only rated for 900w @ 120V. You need 240V to pull 1200w from it. Stick to 2x S3 per PSU until you have 240V available.

My bad, i did not properly do my homework on the DPS-1200FB. But if they can do 900w DC, then he would probably be okay still, since 340W at the wall means pretty much 300W DC. Maybe a one or two step underclock would be in order to not push your luck.

I don't know how he's clocking them, but going from memory 250MHz pulled about 400W DC. If that's how he's running them, I wouldn't do more than 2 per PSU on 120V.

I doubt that, my S3 consumed 350 watts at the wall sligthly overclocked on G2 EVGA's, so that would be about 315W DC, i doubt you could even overclock a S3 to 400W DC without overvolting them somehow.

So stock -1 or -2 clock steps should easily be under 300W DC.

You're probably right, it's been a while since I measured them. I still have 2 heating the basement, I'll try to get a measurement sometime today.

My number is 170 and 311.

Legal wise we have a signed contract with Yes miner and Volker Stuider made by Yesminers and our layers. This is only a test order from us and if they perform as promised they will be our generation 4 miners in our farm.
Still if this is a hoax, its pretty damn good one :-)

As a metal fab company owner, I could knock out those casings in an afternoon if I needed to. It proves nothing, and is a small cost to further a profitable scam.
450  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [Challenge] 500 MH/s of Scrypt Mining Gear (200LTC at stake) on: January 17, 2016, 03:07:58 AM
I can buy 2 alchemist 256mh units locally tomorrow WAY under your asking price, what are you trying to prove? Nothing of what you've said makes any sense, and it won't change the fact that you want more for your titans than they are worth.  Huh
451  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [Challenge] 500 MH/s of Scrypt Mining Gear (200LTC at stake) on: January 17, 2016, 01:08:48 AM
Hello Friends!

I'm kind of baffled about our "overpriced shit" so if you can provide me proof of acquiring 500MH/sec of Scrypt hashing in one weeks time for less than $4700 to your door, I'll personally give you 200LTC. Its that simple.

(1) As its a holiday, execute the order by Tuesday 19 January and demonstrate by 26 January.
(2) Provide the details of what was purchased and at what price.
(3) Illustrate hashing @ +/- 5% 500MH/s at reputable pool.

sharknuttz is not eligible, because he does not have $4700.

Good luck!

...... Seriously?

Titans sell quickly. Yours don't because they're overpriced. Everyone knows they are except you guys. Are we all crazy, or might you be wrong?

Take the blinders off.

455  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Who is who in the PSU world?? on: January 16, 2016, 12:49:12 PM
In the ATX world, Seasonic, Flextronic, Superflower and Delta are king. They make the majority of high quality PSUs sold by Corsair, EVGA, Antec, etc.

Flextronic and Superflower are strictly OEM as I recall. Hard to tell sometimes what power supplies are made by them.

Delta I'd forgotten about - but I still have that one model made specifically for some of the Tyan dual-Athlon motherboards.
I just wish it had more +12V instead of a ton of +3.3V and poor efficiency (it LONG predates 80Plus).

Newegg RMA is good if the item dies quickly (infant mortality is the most common timeframe of failure for ANYTHING electronic, thank goodness).
They also are a lot easier to search for applicable PS - Amazon sometimes has better pricing but their search functionality is almost non-existant.

Flextronic might very well be, but Superflower sells PSUs under their own brand mainly in Europe. All of those fantastic EVGA PSUs are also sold under the Superflower banner in Europe alongside EVGA.

Yeah, probably best to not use such an old PSU with miners. They come from a time when 3.3v and 5v in PSUs were the main rails and generally have ~70% efficiency.

What about eligius or antpool what to move to?

The answer is none of the above, especially not a dirty Chinese pool like antpool. Get your miners pointed to kano.is you won't regret it.
457  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [11 PH] Kano CKPool (kano.is) from the cgminer devs [0.9% PPLNS] on: January 16, 2016, 05:04:14 AM
Now we just need the BTC value to rise back up to the $450 region..... or higher.

Why? To increase difficulty? Let it drop, I say!  Shocked
458  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: MinersExpress.com Open Discussion on: January 16, 2016, 04:35:53 AM
Once again, another thread pops up selling goods and is locked to prevent discussion. When will people realize this tactic doesn't work on here?

I'm not calling scam yet, but I'm saying it's a very shady practice. Feel free to discuss here until MinersExpress.com decides to open their thread up for discussion.

MinersExpress.com, I would be willing to test your service and provide you with some reputation after a successful transaction. In order to do this, we would use OgNasty as escrow, or you would ship first and I'd pay upon receipt. If you refuse either of these options, I think we can draw our own conclusions.

Ok, sounds good.

Sorry about locking the thread, I will unlock it now for general questions.  I see the point about scam accusations and want to apologize for locking it.

I look forward to sending the unit with OgNasty as escrow, please let me know what item you are interested in so we can make arrangements to ship it to you.  We have several places we run our miners and I will have it shipped to you from the location closest to your location.

Thank you

Great! I replied in your thread. Now that yours is unlocked, this one is no longer needed and I will lock it to make sure people post in yours.
459  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Pre- Grand Opening Sale - MinersExpress.com on: January 16, 2016, 04:32:27 AM
Prelude has been nice enough to point out that a locked thread is "shady", we apologize for locking the thread and only did so because we are only able to get on here 1-2 times per day.

The thread is open for questions and comments

Great, thanks for taking steps in the right direction. Glad you'll take me up on my offer to test your service out with OgNasty as protection for myself. I'll buy a batch 3 S7 for the test. I'm away for the weekend on a ski trip, so I won't be able to get funds to Og much before Monday. I'll try to get things set up with Og sometime over the weekend when I have a bit of time to get the ball rolling.

Forgot to mention earlier, everything was delivered today. I seriously couldn't be happier, dealing with quake was fantastic from beginning to end. Great communication, great price, fast shipping, packaging was the best I've ever seen... Amazon ain't got shit on him. Should also mention that I paid him directly without escrow. He's a stand-up guy, no doubt.

Whenever you're ready to sell the rest of your server PSUs, hit me up.
