What would be really cool is if all the exchanges got together and figured out a way to route orders between each other. So for example, I could submit an order on Mt Gox and automatically have it execute on another exchange. However, I feel this is a really far fetched dream since it requires quite a bit of cooperation amongst the exchanges

Looking over the API, it is not immediately clear if there is a way to list information about a transaction. What I would like to do is basically say, in this receiving address, give me the address, time and amount that was sent. Is this information available from the api from somehow?

What you want to implement is called "Dark Liquidity" and the wikipedia article has a very good overview of this concept: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dark_liquidity It also explains how a dark pools works as well
