301  Economy / Economics / Re: Pandemic was just a start of chaos, wars, or becoming zombies! on: July 04, 2021, 04:21:07 PM
There are rumors that Covid 19 was a biochemical weapon of China that silently raised war and won over against other countries. Since the pandemic was said and theorized to have started in China and since China has been making noise about planning to becoming the leading country in the world. Some people think it is their deceiving move towards the whole world, they act like it has become uncontrollable but the truth is that they have prepared for it in advance which makes them lead the game up until now.
302  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will El Salvador become the "Home of Bitcoin"? on: July 04, 2021, 03:43:59 PM
El Salvador is now the first country in the world to embrace Bitcoin as legal tender. This is good news for Bitcoin and cryptocurrency in general, because it increases mainstream adoption and demand like skyrocket. China's recent crackdown on Bitcoin, could force miners to move to other countries with a friendly stance towards it. El Salvador could see an increase in miner's interest as China and other restrictive countries lose luster in the world of crypto. Of course, the impact won't be that much because El Salvador is a third-world country. Yet, it's something better than nothing.

What are your thoughts? Do you think El Salvador will become the "Home of Bitcoin"? If not, why? Will other countries adopt Bitcoin as legal tender in the future? Or is it still too early to tell? Why do you think developed countries haven't done such a move yet? Your input will be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Smiley
Once El Salvador's involvement on bitcoin's become successful, considering that they are the first country that officially regulated the use of bitcoin and other crypto, there's a high chance that it will be declared as the first home of bitcoin. Actually, it is still too early to tell since El Salvador just recently gave life to their plan. Those other countries haven't tried doing the same thing yet because they are well aware of the risk they will meet once they commit on it. They are playing safe and now that El Salvador made a move, they can use it as a guinea pig to see if it is really effective on improving a country's economy.

304  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Best altcoins to hold during a bear market? on: July 04, 2021, 02:35:14 PM
There are many altcoins that has the potential of increasing or improving nowadays, you can try finding some suggestions in the forum. For now, I am eyeing on ETH still. In terms of potential, Ethereum definitely has the highest chance of staying successful considering the fact that it has been able to stay next to bitcoin up until now, we can already claim it will be able to surpass all the circumstances it will be facing. Ethereum for me is the best altcoin and I witnessed all of its breakthrough regardless of the hardships it has faced.
305  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which Cryptocurrency is best for long term investment? on: July 04, 2021, 01:52:00 PM
No matter what happens, nothing will change my mind that bitcoin is still the best cryptocurrency for long term investment. Just take a look at bitcoin's history and successful run over the years, you will see right away why many people and huge organizations are choosing it for long term investments. Nevertheless, diversifying can still be effective specially if lots of crypto or altcoins are doing well. Just be careful on picking which altcoins you will invest to other than bitcoin, you can get some hint on what are the best at the moment through suggestions of other investors.
306  Economy / Economics / Re: Becoming wealthy and social responsibility on: July 04, 2021, 01:25:24 PM
While I don't have many posts. I got involved in Bitcoin in 2013 and joined this forum in 2014. While I do not consider myself wealthy from Bitcoin yet. I do have an idea of how I would like to direct some of this new found wealth. I think most of the people who got involved early got involved for the right reasons. IE: To change the world and move humanity out of the control of the bankers. I am concerned that the new people coming may only be in to make money. I hope I am wrong, I really want this technology to be a force of good in the world and deliver economic freedom to the masses and the unbanked. My hope is everyone who was early, has some idea in mind that will help others. Maybe help your family, or a charity that you think isn't wasting money, or building a community swimming pool etc. If you have a lot of money think big and how you can change the world for the better. This is our chance!
Being wealthy is a responsibility that some people tend to set aside yet, at some point those wealthy people should not be obliged to take that responsibility. Not everyone gets rich right away, some work the hardest just to reach that position that's why we cannot always ask them to take the responsibility considering the hardships they went through just to get there. Still, if you are one of those who have a lot of money, you can either choose to spend it all on you or try spending it through helping others that can be more likely become a pay back for those people who helped you to reach that place.
307  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The real reason why China banned Bitcoin. on: July 04, 2021, 12:49:31 PM
I am a Chinese who was exposed to Bitcoin earlier. I hope to analyze the reasons for China’s Bitcoin-related policies to eliminate FUD against China.

Recently, FUD about China is often discussed in forums. China has successively issued a number of policies to prohibit the use of Bitcoin in China, including banning mining and banning bank card transactions in Bitcoin. Many people think that the reason why China is doing this is the decentralization of Bitcoin that is difficult to regulate, but this is only a small reason.

The biggest reason for China's ban on Bitcoin is carbon neutrality. China’s carbon strategy roadmap is to achieve carbon peaks before 2030, achieve carbon neutrality before 2060, and even initially achieve carbon neutrality by 2030. According to the Bitcoin Mining Council report on July 1, 2021, 56% of the energy consumed by Bitcoin mining is renewable energy. But in the past in China, although the specific proportion was not announced, the proportion of renewable energy such as hydroelectric power generation must be far smaller than this figure. This is not conducive to China's goal of achieving carbon neutrality. In order to achieve this goal, all industries need to make way for it.

Another important reason is the unprecedented chaos in China's cryptocurrency industry. I believe that if the Chinese people just invest in Bitcoin or Ethereum, the Chinese government will never prohibit the transaction of Bitcoin. Unlike the United States or Australia, many Chinese who invest in cryptocurrency don’t know what decentralization is, just blindly follow the trend to buy some unknown coins. Chinese investors lack the most basic understanding of the cryptocurrency industry, most people end up in bankruptcy. Only by restricting mining and restricting bank card transactions can China prevent these ordinary people who have been deceived by become parvenu from joining cryptocurrencies. The reason for the Chinese government to create FUD is not to suppress the price of Bitcoin, but to prevent ignorant people from losing money in the cryptocurrency field.

Finally, China's current development focus is still in the manufacturing or infrastructure fields. In China, finance or economy is still a very abstract word for most people. China's overall strength in the financial field lags far behind the developed world. Therefore, the current strategy of the Chinese government is to stabilize the economic foundation first, and after improving the people's knowledge and living standards, it will begin to develop at the financial level. Before that, it is necessary to ensure that China's overall capital flows to the real economy rather than various financial field.

There are some misunderstandings about China on this forum. I do not comment on the policies of any sovereign country, but in ten years, we may see a China that actively embraces Bitcoin. Although China may still issue policies that have a negative impact on Bitcoin now.

The issue about China and crypto caused so much chaos wherein FUDs are not the only things that spread due to it but also false information about China's reason why they chose to restrict the use of bitcoin. Overall, if we were to analyze their reasons, it falls down into their plan of embracing bitcoin soon. China is a huge and powerful country and most of the things they do would affect anything that it gets involves with like for crypto, as the banning of bitcoin takes place, the impact is clearly shown at the price fall in bitcoin. Nevertheless, let us hope things would get settled between crypto and China in the future cause it would be beneficial for crypto to have China on their side.
308  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Ignorance and greed, that's the cause of it all, everyone be warned. on: July 04, 2021, 12:01:06 PM
Aside from worrying about newbies about making indecisive decisions due to ignorance, we should also pay attention to those who have been long in the game already but still makes careless decisions due to greed. As you enter a project or receive an offer, check out its validity and realness first before making an action. See if it is too much or too good to be true. We've been warned by it a lot of times already yet we keep on making the same mistake as we get attracted on receiving high profits through an easy process.
309  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETH to $10K? on: July 04, 2021, 10:49:13 AM
The much-awaited EIP-1559 upgrade will make ETH scarcer than ever. Demand seems to be on the rise lately, although prices have stalled quite a bit because of the bearish market. Projects like Uniswap, Compound, Aave, and even MakerDAO should make ETH more valuable over time. At a price of $2,085 (since the time of this writing), I'd say that ETH is quite a bargain these days.

I'm starting to wonder how much ETH will be worth in the future. After all, it's the best cryptocurrency in the world (besides Bitcoin). If BTC reached astronomical gains within such a short amount of time, then ETH can easily reach "Mars". What do you think? Will $10K per ETH be feasible in the long term? If not, why? What is your price prediction for the next 5 years? Your input will be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much. Smiley
Some will surely say that nothing is impossible when it comes to crypto or ETH in particular but if we are going to consider the factors that may hinder ETH's growth in the future. Bitcoin's journey will surely affect its growth so as long as bitcoin is having a good run, there is a high chance that ETH price will achieve some of bitcoin's all time highs. We should just keep on believing on the capability of each crypto, all of them can achieve breakthroughs that might bring them to new highs and new places in the market.
310  Economy / Economics / Re: In COVID-19 everyone needs motivation on: July 04, 2021, 07:08:30 AM
I think this is every worst situation for all, especially those who are suffering from the pandemic, so we have one option that is to find a way to turn it into positive.
Many died as well, lost our jobs, our businesses and everything, so we really couldn't say it's a blessing. But in this condition, we should just look forward and think about of next-generation future. otherwise, our upcoming generation will also suffer as now we are facing
In my experience, this has been the worst crisis I've ever faced in my life. It was the toughest and for sure, for others barely has the ability to survive, they went through it much tougher. Each and everyone needs motivation considering the fact that we are usually alone in our thoughts due to the social distancing protocol and we cannot meet with our friends that much anymore due to the restrictions. If we wouldn't help out each other through encouragement, let us find ways on how we can ease the suffering of others, let us try to be sympathetic and try to picture ourself in their situation.
311  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is the only thing that humans cannot control on: July 04, 2021, 06:48:48 AM
Bitcoin has developed a lot over the past years and if you are going to define control as something that allows us to access everything inside bitcoin and change anything we want in it, therefore you are wrong in that thinking. The control in bitcoin I think starts on how well you are managing it and regardless of the changes occuring, you are still able to cope up. If you think humans should have the control over bitcoin which you are defining as something near to hacking, then all of the things in crypto will surely be in chaos considering how impossible it is for everyone's mind to harmonize.
312  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Which will be the most valuable altcoin? on: July 03, 2021, 04:49:30 PM
Ethereum will stay on the top over all the other existing altcoins for me. ETH was able to achieve a lot of things such as being able to stay next to bitcoin for a very long time up until now. Also it is emerging this year due to the new jungle item that helps jungler earn more money. Even though I got my hopes high for it right now, doesn't mean I would settle and stick to it up until the very end. Sometimes it is not valuable that's why I ended up selling too much item to the market. We should analyze the price before anything else.
313  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is it possible to make good profits through ICOs? on: July 03, 2021, 04:18:49 PM
Hi there, I was looking at a couple of ICOs on CMC today (especially at Safelaunch) and it's been a while that I started to analyze the "results" of some previous ICOs like Centrifuge, Bytenext and other random coins.

I noticed that their ICO price was way lower even than the very first opening price, so I was wondering if it could be a good idea to regularly take part in these events, and, if an ICO allows me to freely manage the money I placed in it (for instance, immediately taking back my money if my profit target has been reached).

P.S: with "good profits" I don't mean bullshit like 10x, 100x and "to the moon", (obviously everyone has a different conception of "good profits"), but a decent amount of money that allows me to make an accumulation plan, would be great to see other people's experience.
It depends on the ICO if ever it becomes successful but ICOs are not that profitable anymore unlike how it was before. Due to the sudden emergence of scams on ICOs, many people started losing interest on working in such. Now, there are a lot of ways on how you can be profitable in crypto but ICOs are not on the top list anymore. Even though the hype and the relevance of ICOs are long gone, scammers are still everywhere and considering that there are just a few number of ICOs right now, scammers are much more evident than before so I would advise you find new ways cause ICOs are not effective anymore in making profits.
314  Economy / Economics / Re: What role will Bitcoin play in the face of superpowers in the future? on: July 03, 2021, 03:33:03 PM
Those with the superpowers that hinders bitcoin from progressing will surely be a trouble but we should take consideration of the fact that bitcoin is also improving each day. In the future, such problems that can be considered as a huge problem right now will just be like a pinch for bitcoin in the future. Those countries that restrics bitcoin right now will surely regret it in the futire as bitcoin begins to become much more successful. For now, bitcoin might still be doubted but the things it will do will surpass all the circumstances it is facing.
315  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is still the favorite choice on: July 03, 2021, 01:54:10 PM
No matter what happens in crypto, bitcoin will always be the favorite of all considering all the achievements it made ever since it started. Regardless of all the doubts and all the discouragement that was thrown to it, bitcoin was able to make it through and stay at the top. It has even become the one that sets the value of most of the altcoins wherein as it goes high, altcoins will also do so. Bitcoin is the top tier and it will always be able to surpass all the circumstances it has faced, so let us hold on to our faith and make sure to hold now that is down since it will soon rise up once again soon.
316  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you pay with Bitcoin whenever you're able to? on: July 02, 2021, 06:50:11 PM
So far, in our country, there are no shops yet that accepts bitcoin as a payment. You will need to convert it first into fiat and turn it to the legal nation's currency so that you can spend it. For example, we are hanging out on a Saturday night and after we consumed all of the alcohol, we wanted more and we don't have physical money to pay with but we have some in Gcash for example, we can use that to pay in the convenience store if ever they would allow. The use of bitcoin as a payment is still far from happening and far from being settled so let us just lie low for all of it first.
317  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: China's game plan on: July 02, 2021, 04:09:35 PM
Seems like China is done with Bitcoin. Hash rate has dropped by over 60% in the last few weeks, which confirms that miners are exiting China for good.

How does a Bitcoin exit benefit China in the long term? What do you guys think is China's game plan?

A lot of chatter about this being "China's trillion dollar mistake". I don't think China's dumb, so keen to hear what they might have up their sleeves.
China has been very strategic for the past years and now that they are making a move again with relation to crypto, some people are seeing it as a wise move while some are seeing it as a mistake. China surely thought it through before they did it and for sure they have a back up plan or a hidden agenda why they did it. Each country has their reputation and their reason why they are rejecting bitcoin's regulation while some are already starting to legalize the use of it since they see it as something that will save them in the future. China is a huge and smart country, they know what they are doing for sure.
318  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Elon Musk's two tweets on Dogecoin drive value of cryptocurrency up by 7% on: July 02, 2021, 03:46:07 PM
We can see clearly how much influence Elon Musk has towards crypto enthusiasts. Dogecoin is nothing compared to bitcoin actually but ever since Elon Musk took custody of being the father of Doge, the value has increased a lot. He can influence those who doesn't read much about crypto considering that he is a billionaire. Most of the people will believe on him since they think that if they will do the same thing Elon is doing, they will get a shot on becoming a millionaire too but little do they know, Elon is deceiving them so that he can feed on them more so be more wise next time.
319  Economy / Economics / Re: Antivirus Pioneer John McAfee Commits Suicide on: July 02, 2021, 03:22:48 PM
Considering the contributions he made, the history made will always be given importance. The felony he committed to God will be something made questionable since before he did the deed, he was sentenced to prison due to tax evasion. It's more of a like he is trying to escape that's why he did what he did. Nevertheless, suicide and death is a sensitive topic and hearing about his passing is something to be regretted for. Maybe he could acheived a lot more if he is still living right now but we can't do anything about it anymore, may his soul rest in peace now and all his sins be forgotten.
320  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: can bitcoin be protected by freedom of speech? on: July 02, 2021, 03:05:12 PM

An interesting legal idea here:

Quote
I doubt Bitcoin will be made illegal. By itself, the Bitcoin network is just a mechanism for passing around signed messages and calculating hash values. It would be difficult to outlaw that without running into constitutional free speech issues.

I tend to agree with that.

Freedom of speech is indeed powerful but if it is against the law, I think its power can be neutralized at some point. No matter how much people are opening up or fighting for bitcoin's right to be legalized but still if the law of a certain country's government dictates that bitcoin does not deserve to be regulated yet, it cannot be pushed through for sure. Nevertheless, people will still find ways on how they can access crypto regardless of having their country banning it. Words are powerful as always but with the existence of the government, it can be outpowered and be disregarded no matter how powerful it has been.
