2  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Alternatives to Coinbase? on: April 20, 2019, 09:12:43 PM
Hello Bitcoin Forum.

Can anyone suggest a good alternative to Coinbase?
I personally don't have much respect for the company with their recent actions and many failed wire-transfers in the past.

The reasons I use Coinbase are...

1. Instant bank USD -> Coinbase USD wallet and I can make a BTC purchase right away (unfortunately paying their high fee).
2. I can use limit orders to purchase/sell BTC without a fee
3. Trying to get my folks into crypto, so I like their simple interface to buy/sell crypto for those not using Coinbase Pro.

Are there any other exchanges that I can use that have these features?

Bittrex, binance and hitbtc I would recommend these exchanges

4  Economy / Economics / Re: Can bitcoin be worthless? on: April 20, 2019, 08:58:53 PM
Currency failure generally occurs due to the type of hyperinflation, and there is always the potential for technical failure, currency competition, political issues and so on. As the main basic rule, there is no currency that can be considered very safe from failure and difficult times. so is it possible that bitcoin can become worthless?

Of course bitcoin can be worthless but very low probability
5  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin (BTC) Hits 400 Million Transactions on: April 20, 2019, 08:54:52 PM
The Bitcoin network just reached a new milestone.

More than 400 million transactions have now been processed on the network, according to the data tracker Smartbit.

Source: Smartbit

On average, the Bitcoin network is processing about 350,000 transactions per day at a speed of four transactions per second, with an average cost of $1.70 in fees per transaction. Since its inception in January of 2009, the network has been operating with nearly zero downtime. Estimates place Bitcoin’s uptime at 99.98%.

The number of blockchain wallet users has also reached a new all-time high at 35 million, up 45% since April 2018 when the number of users crossed 24 million.

this means, bitcoin began to enter people's lives, very good
6  Economy / Economics / Re: If you had 10000$ on: April 20, 2019, 08:52:57 PM
If you had 10000$ where would you invest it?  I'm hoping for 10x in about 2 years, how would you personally split that money? There are so many altcoins that I dont know which to pick, I remember the top 5 altcoins from years ago and  now they are all gone, so should I only invest in  BTC end ETH or others like NEO, ADA and EOS?

I'd buy 20 bitcoins

8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: HOW SHOULD A BOUNTY BE........ on: April 20, 2019, 07:28:10 PM
I'm not sure something will solve the problem, especially kyc which I am totally against going through and sending my data is not known to whom. Bounty managers must create an automatic blacklist to reset information on spammers, fraudsters, thereby creating a user base.

First of all, he must have a very good project and must have very good managers
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bill gates says cryptocurrency is bad on: April 20, 2019, 07:25:24 PM
In his own reddit AskMeEverything page,

He answers about cryptocurrency stating
“The main feature of crypto currencies is their anonymity. I don't think this is a good thing. The Government’s ability to find money laundering and tax evasion and terrorist funding is a good thing. Right now crypto currencies are used for buying fentanyl and other drugs so it is a rare technology that has caused deaths in a fairly direct way. I think the speculative wave around ICOs and crypto currencies is super risky for those who go long.”

He isn't wrong in his sense, if the cryptocurrency is to have a future, they should be able to create an environment of trust between themselves and the authorities.

One day the future bill gates will even agree that this system is very good. Bill gates are old head but clever guy
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 5 Best Ethereum Wallets online in 2019 on: April 20, 2019, 07:21:11 PM
Ethereum is the second largest cryptocurrency in the world, which has some web-based wallets, which can be accessed from anywhere. Some of the web wallets are custodial where the control of the private key is not in your hands as it’s being controlled by the third party, so they might be susceptible to attacks or phishing. On the other hand, there are certain web wallets which are non-custodial, which means you are in control over your private keys.

Let us check the top online Ethereum wallets in 2019:

#1 MyEtherWallet
MyEtherWallet is one of the most renowned Ethereum web wallets which lets you have entire control over your private keys that increases the security of your assets. Hey guys!

Any new and promising ICOs to be looking after? I've viewed many but, tbh, most of them seem rubbish. Any actual ones worthy of investment in? Thanks!

14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What Cryptocurrencies Should I buy? Building your Portfolio on: April 20, 2019, 06:59:05 PM
Before diving in, you need to be aware of the fact that your cryptocurrency portfolio structure will largely depend on the type of investment that you are after. Are you in it for a short-term gain? Or are you placing long-term bets on the industry?

Investing in cryptocurrency in the short-term is extremely risky due to the wild price fluctuations and you if that’s what you want to do then you should focus more on TA (Technical Analysis), rather than the fundamentals of the coins you’re investing in.

On the other hand, if you are playing the long-term then you need to pay close attention to the fundamental value of the cryptocurrencies you are investing in and you need to make sure that you have a well-diversified portfolio.

Prior to 2015, there weren’t really any legitimate cryptocurrency investment alternatives to Bitcoin. However, that has radically changed as the cryptocurrency space continued gaining momentum. Today there are thousands of so-called “altcoins”, which are alternatives to cryptocurrency.

These coins can be quickly found on platforms like CoinMarketCap, which displays the largest cryptocurrencies by market capitalization and also lets investors check cryptocurrency prices.

With that in mind, let’s now explore what types of cryptocurrencies there are, which ones are the best to invest in, and how to properly diversify a crypto portfolio.

You should buy waves, stratis and oax because future centerless exchanges will be much needed in the future.
also I think you should get bnb coin.
15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Binance Will DELIST Bitcoin SV! on: April 20, 2019, 06:50:47 PM
Changpeng Zhao, the CEO of Binance, has announced that Binance will delist BSV due to Craig Wright's threats to sue bitcoiners who dare question that he is Satoshi Nakamoto. This is yet another blow to this coin that has failed to gain traction. Hopefully this coin will just completely disappear. It is a distraction to the space.
