41  Economy / Economics / European AML5 on: February 25, 2020, 09:09:06 PM
Regulations, regulations, regulations.

The european union is good for the liberty it gives to its citizens for travel, work and live in other countries integrated in the same union but those working in the commission really come up with quite some stuff that I consider just another burden to justify their salaries....

As of this year a new Anti-money Laundering legislation is in place.

A summary here:

shorturl.at/grFS9

Basically, with the goal of pushing for electronic financial transactions, citizens are required to have a "2-factor validation" before a transaction is finally validated. I understand the measure but in some cases banks are not even allowing a simple low amount transfer go through without this 2factor validation.

User should be allowed to set their own rules with the liability being taken by the same user if finally something goes wrong...

I fed up of having to carry with me a physical token (yes, this still exist...) or an old bank generated matrix card.....

now put into that mix that both the person who made first deposit and business owner want to withdraw their funds at the same time.

how will the bank manage that ?

45  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: importing seed to another wallet on: February 18, 2020, 09:09:32 PM
When creating a new wallet I have the seed of 12 words generated.

I know that I can import them for the same wallet but can I do that as well with another wallet?
What wallet did you create the 12 word seed mnemonic in? Huh

Answering that question will enable everyone to advise:
- what type of seed mnemonic it is
- what wallet(s) it is compatible with (if any)

web based wallet

I fear that nowadays NordVPN is all over the place with their ads which might mean their IP addresses will be surely known by a lot of companies (netflix, bbc, etc)

what other VPNs do you guys recommend that also do not fall under US law?

my take on blockchain.

A company trying to sell their product has customers that use a proprietary software, paying a license for it.
Now, will every customer be considered as a running node and validating the information within that company's blockchain?

that is what I still don't see.

Banks will continue to centralize everything.

Or if in some cases they are pushed to do something imposed by central authorities (I can remember T2S in Europe where settlement activity is running through the ECB). If that will occur in the future with the issuance of digital central money (just because it is trendy), can this avoid a new financial crisis? not sure

55  Local / Brasil / Re: Sobre o halving e as expectativas on: February 03, 2020, 10:13:08 PM

V-C even heals heart disease - https://jeffreydachmd.com/heart-disease-vitamin-c-and-linus-pauling2/.

Vitamin C Protects Against Coronavirus

The coronavirus pandemic can be dramatically slowed, or stopped, with the immediate widespread use of high doses of vitamin C. Physicians have demonstrated the powerful antiviral action of vitamin C for decades. There has been a lack of media coverage of this effective and successful approach against viruses in general, and coronavirus in particular.

It is very important to maximize the body's anti-oxidative capacity and natural immunity to prevent and minimize symptoms when a virus attacks the human body. The host environment is crucial. Preventing is obviously easier than treating severe illness. But treat serious illness seriously. Do not hesitate to seek medical attention. It is not an either-or choice. Vitamin C can be used right along with medicines when they are indicated.

The physicians of the Orthomolecular Medicine News Service and the International Society for Orthomolecular Medicine urge a nutrient-based method to prevent or minimize symptoms for future viral infection.

59  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Spain wants Gibealtar as part of Brexit. on: February 02, 2020, 08:07:30 PM
Politicians should stick to politics, and leave trade deals to businesses. All politicians seem to be able to do is to impose taxes and tariffs.

Without taxpayers they would not exist so of course they impose tax and tariffs.
there is no free lunch

Not sure if this is correct place but getting more interesting into doing some studies on Blockchain technology as it gets more and more attention from institutions.

Found this article which provide some links to free courses:

https://www.forbes.com/sites/rogerhuang/2019/08/12/eleven-free-courses-to-learn-bitcoin-blockchain-and-cryptocurrencies#39b0014e50a7

Of course, "free" still means not being that much considered by recruiters, especially if there is no certificate attached to it (honestly still think the MOOC platforms charge quite a bit for a certificate).

Which courses would you recommend for non-tech guys?
