121  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][YAC] YACoin ongoing development on: February 26, 2021, 07:54:44 AM
A lot of resources have been dedicated, spent to making 0.4.9 and 1.0.0 usable. If you see any specific problems, you can bring it up in github or even do a pull request for a change. You can also point out the specific problem in here.

If you run 1.0.0 right now, you will be running under the old YACoin rules (0.4.9, 0.4.4, and prior). At block 1,890,000, the new rules will take into effect. Make sure you are running 1.0.0 by that point. The Windows link at the website has been updated (thank you aso!). If someone wants to create a faucet, I can link to it from the website. Otherwise, it will likely be removed soon.

Again, if you try to keep the old chain alive, you are taking a big risk by transacting on it. What's interesting is that NO ONE cared about keeping the old chain going (except for me) until I announced the hard fork. Armchair quarterbacking has nothing to do with consensus (PoW-PoS or PoW).

External Miner Released

Builds for the external miner have just been released and they can be downloaded from https://github.com/Bitcreds/cpuminer-opt-kudaraidee/releases/tag/v1.0.0
This miner will allow you to start pool mining right away on https://poolmine.xyz/

Please note that mining on Linux will offer better hashrates for most processors. Also Ryzen CPUs mining on Windows with the AVX2 optimization will most probably get no advantage over non-AVX2, but this only affects Windows. On Linux everything works as expected with increases of up to 30% in hashrates for the AVX2 versions.

Just a quick "heads up"
https://poolmine.xyz/ , miner finds blocks, but pool although showing hashrate, never shows blocks , and balance doesnt change. Missed out on 3 blocks so far.
123  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][XCN] Cryptonite - NEW Thread | 1st mini-blockchain coin | Bounties! on: February 24, 2021, 09:25:26 AM
Maybe you guys could try to get XCN listed on qTrade.io, at least you could give it a shot.

The problem ...

A LOT of Exchanges have closed, gone bust, been hacked or just plain dried up. So which one and where has never been more difficult.

#crysx

Simple solution, for low volume, just trade here, 1 to 1...coins pretty much worthless at the moment, whats to lose....

124  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: AnimeCoin [アニメコイン] [ANI] NEW OFFICIAL THREAD 2019 on: February 24, 2021, 09:19:24 AM

Hi,

The one on YOBIT is NOT Animecoin, it is a deadcoin called ANIcoin...i made the same mistake a long time ago. As far as i can tell ANIcoin has no source, no wallet, and no presence anywhere...
125  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [INFO] Bitcoin File (BIFI) on: February 22, 2021, 11:00:55 AM
Which percentage of Bitcoin clones have been successed in the past? I think 2-3%. This is a not icluded in those 3%, market cap equally of zero.

126  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [INFO] Bitcoin File (BIFI) on: February 20, 2021, 11:39:34 AM
bifi node syncs very slowly. almost 2 weeks already still 70000 blocks left

Same here...
I still have over 28,000 blocks to download, and even with 6 connections its taken 3 days so far...

This needs addressing very quickly or this project is dead before it even gets chance to live

Very disappointing
J

Hi,
Does anyone have any live connections please?
127  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: An (even more) optimized version of cpuminer (pooler's cpuminer, CPU-only) on: February 18, 2021, 02:07:39 PM
I am trying to mine using this software like in the same way I use to mine other coins via CPU mining.

These are the steps I did:

1 - My bitcoin.conf file:

server=1
daemon=1
txindex=1

rpcport=8332
rpcuser=user
rpcpass=123456

2 - My conf file for minerd:

{
  "url": "http://127.0.0.1:8332",
  "userpass": "user:123456",
  "threads": "2",
  "algo": "sha256d",
  "debug": true,
  "no-longpoll": true,
  "no-stratum": true,
  "quiet": true
 }

3 - My Bitcoin core wallet is open, fully synchronized, and unlocked.

4 - I run the minerd with the command:

./minderd --config=./conf.json

But I get URL connection ERROR, what should I do different?

in the bitcoin.conf add
rpcallowip=127.0.0.1
and change
rpcpass=123456 to rpcpassword=123456

Thank you, the problem was with the rpcpass, the correct is rpcpassword. I had to set in my conf file for minerd the coinbase-addr, now it seems the minerd is running, however I only get something like this:

DEBUG: got new work in 1069 ms

Not sure if it is really working.

You're not actually trying to mine BTC with a cpu are you?
With this level of difficulty, even if you were the only person mining, you MIGHT get a block in 1,000 years, but up against the current hashrate, you'd have more chance of living to be a 1000 year old than mine a block.

Not the way to learn cpu mining...
128  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ELI] Elicoin (CPU mining only) EXCHANGE AVAILABLE! on: February 17, 2021, 08:16:16 AM
Hi,

If any one wants to buy a few coins, i have 100 coins for 0.0001 BTC. (less than $5 - go on, take a gamble )

LMAO if you think anyone paying 100 satoshi per ELI... If that was the case, I would be laughing at the bank...

Is this the part where you tell me you have millions of ELI

130  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][YDA][POOL][CPU Mining] YadaCoin - 🔵 yadacoin.io LIVE! on: February 12, 2021, 09:06:33 AM
I just released v4.1.0 of the YadaCoin core. This is by-far the most stable release to-date. Currently, there are multiple miners and nodes on the network and all stay perfectly in sync.

As you know, I've been mostly focused on the social protocol since this project's inception, and there have been outstanding issues with the network itself. I'm thrilled to say the issues have been resolved and am now letting out a deep sigh knowing that YadaCoin has finally entered a new era of network stability.

I have big plans that will take advantage of this new, robust system.

Go take this new version for a spin, I'm very proud of it.

Download:
https://yadacoin.io/download

Cheers!

Okay,

I tried this coin about 2 years ago, and never managed to install it...
So 2 years on, i see it has had a major update, so i thought "what the heck" lets try again...

Hmmmm, i should have learned the first time.

I'm using a clean Win 10 install, fully updated.

so we start here
https://yadacoin.io/download
this leads to 3 simple instructions - so any one can install this wallet...right?

1) Install MongoDB.
clicking on this link takes you here -
"https://docs.mongodb.com/manual/administration/install-community/"

I'm on windows, so i click "install on windows" - this leads to here -
"https://docs.mongodb.com/manual/tutorial/install-mongodb-on-windows/"

scrolling down i finally get to "MongoDB download centre" which leads to
"https://www.mongodb.com/try/download/community?tck=docs_server"
this gets me to
"https://fastdl.mongodb.org/windows/mongodb-windows-x86_64-4.4.3-signed.msi" and i have a downloaded file (mongodb-windows-x86_64-4.4.3-signed.msi)....

Keeping up, awesome so far...

Lets run the file
install
Welcome to the MongoDB 4.4.3 2008R2Plus SSL (64 bit) Setup Wizard
Lets choose the default option - COMPLETE
Install MongoD as a service (Network) is ticked
Then asks Install MongoDB Compass (Default is YES) , so i choose to keep the defaults, and then a Pop-up screen (MongoDB Compass - Connect) asks for NEW Connection....gives me the option to create Free New Cluster with MomgoDB Atlas --- WTF

No clue, so i uninstall, reboot, and start again
This time i untick the "Install MangoDN Compass" and it seems to install (needs reboot)

onto step 2
2) Install Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable package.

leads to
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/the-latest-supported-visual-c-downloads-2647da03-1eea-4433-9aff-95f26a218cc0

3 options + various Service Packs
1) Visual Studio 2015, 2017 and 2019
2) Visual Studio 2013 (VC++ 12.0)
3) Visual Studio 2012 (VC++ 11.0)

so, i try the first option which leads to "https://aka.ms/vs/16/release/vc_redist.x64.exe"
I download and run this file (needs reboot)

Step 3
Download using the button below. Extract and run the YadaCoin executable.

Download file, and run, black dos window appears, nothing for 5-10 secs, then a load of text flashes in the box, then box closes....
Cannot do steps 4, 5 , 6 cos no browser opens, nothing !

So Mr dev, as i asked nearly 2 years ago
Can you please check your work, start with a clean windows install (as most users do) and walk thru the process you are asking us to, and document which options we need to choose, and which downloads we actually require.

I would actually like to see a working wallet just once.

---------------------------
To everyone else who is clearly brighter than me and has a wallet, and may even be mining it,
I ask, what hardware are you mining with?
Solo, pools? (I can't find a single pool) (https://yadacoin.io/pool-stats - helps in no way) (https://yadacoin.io/hashrate - never loads up) (https://yadacoin.io/explorer - hashrate of 8k on randomx, tells me there is probably only 1 miner)
How many coins are you mining a day?
Is there anywhere at all to sell these coins, and if so, what is the value.

Is this coin actually worth mining?

Would love anyone to put together a simple line by line instruction set.

Thanks

oh, my yada_app.log says "2021-02-12 08:39:31,663 CRITICAL get_latest_block failed" if this means anything to anyone

Hello,

I'm new in mining, and i'm starting now. I think crypto gonna be a part important in our future society, so i want to talk here about everything that people need to know on mining.

After lot of researchs, i think i'll start build a rig with rtx 3090 nvidia GPU.

Is there somewhere where i can learn about wich pool or miner is best to use ? And wich crypto to mine ? I'm wondering why on https://www.stelareum.io/mining/profit.html it says that benefits with Ether are around 13$/day
and if mining monero its 8000$/day, same for Zcash 5000$/day.

Thank for your helps guys,

I'll put some photos of the rig when its build.

Try starting here
https://www.nicehash.com/profitability-calculator/nvidia-rtx-3090?selCurr=USD&elCost=0.1&devices=1

133  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 4 x 3060ti build on: February 10, 2021, 02:19:14 PM
you will need atleast 8gb of ram
4 gigabyte of ram is more than enough for a mining rig with 6x or more GPUs in the mobo, I even have a old motherboard that I'm running 4x GPUs on with only 2gig ram stick, it works very well with no problem at all, only gaming requires such RAM space

Same old Generic advice ! (probably based on only mining etherium)

It all depends what you are mining. Some algos like as much ram as you have vram, some dont care...same goes for cores, i mine many "gpu coins" that need 1 core per card....most don't
Even nicehash prefers 8GB ram, and 4 cores.....(Win 10)

Sure no problem,

Glad to help.

Darn, same prob as before.

The addnodes give a couple of connections, BUT there is no block source, so it never starts to download the chain.
Tried both the 0.8.7.2 and 0.10 wallet.
Any chance you can zip ne your fastcoin roaming folder (except fastcoin.conf, and wallet.dat of course).
It a big upload thats the  main issue

After DM'ing with fast-coin I believe he mentioned that they will be updating outdated links etc...

Hope that helps you out.

Thanks fast-coin,

I have been mining this coin for several months off and on and its great to have some confirmation from the team leads that they are refocusing their attention.  I will DM you with some other questions with respects to Dev bounties etc or should I reach out to Cheetahx instead?

Hi,
If you have been mining this coin for months, i'd love a link to the wallet download, or at least some addnodes please
Please share with the rest of the board.
Thanks

LOL,
Until 9 months ago, when the chain died, i have been mining this coin for nearly 5 years, probably 2 years on a fork by the look of things, so like i say, why put up links when clearly the links are only the old broken links...

Simple question really...where are the links to the current working windows wallet, along with the addnodes...i can only guess that if no-one can provide them that this coin is dead...
What i do find strange thou, is there is this link https://fst.mastermining.net/index.php?page=statistics&action=pool and someone is, and has been mining this coin for months, yet no-one has any node info....hmmm...dodgy
Oh, and i have tried to contact the pool many times, cos i can mine to it, but cant sync my wallet so no point...

Hi, went to www.fastcoin.ca, the wallet link is for a mac wallet not pc (.dmg), and going to the github has no releases, also the block explorer doesn't work.
oh, and these links https://sourceforge.net/projects/fastcoin/files/win32/0.8.7.2/, and https://sourceforge.net/projects/fastcoin/files/win32/0.10.2.2/ both come up as malware....

How's about posting some relevant info, like working windows wallet, addnodes, current bootstrap, pool links, etc
Would be much more helpful.

In less than 5 hours from now, at 6 PM UTC, we will make the switch to Argon2d16000 so prepare your wallets for mining as it will be the only way to mine Bitcreds after the hard fork. Expect your mining speeds to drop by up to 100x in comparison to Argon2d250, the algorithm currently in use.

Since this is a hard fork and taking precautions is recommended I advise not to send any significant transactions until tomorrow just to make sure you're on the right chain and the network is running smoothly.

If you like in-wallet CPU mining or you just like the stock, give it a go Grin.

Hi
Would love to give it a go, BUT downloaded wallet, clean install, ZERO connections...
Any ideas?

Synchronizing from zero takes quite a while even with enough connections so I recommend using the latest bootstrap here https://github.com/Bitcreds/Bitcreds/releases/tag/v1.7.0.0, you have instructions as well.

If you want to synchronize from scratch anyway you can connect to some of the nodes listed here https://explorer.bitcreds.org/network. The console command used for adding nodes is addnode <ip> add.

Hi,
I'm using wallet 1.7.1.0 and have those nodes, but still zero connections....should i be using wallet 1.7.0.0?
