221  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Do you agree in death penalty? on: January 08, 2018, 02:09:34 PM
The death penalty prevents future murders: Agree. Society has always used punishment to discourage would-be criminals from unlawful action. ... If murderers are sentenced to death and executed, potential murderers will think twice before killing for fear of losing their own life.
222  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Are you going to pay taxes? on: January 08, 2018, 02:03:56 PM
You will pay taxes on any dividends, interest income, or capital gains, just as you did before you were retired. ... If your other income sources are not too high you may qualify for the zero percent capital gains tax rate—which means you would pay no tax on all or a portion of your capital gains for that year.
223  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Do you truly believe that you are alive? on: January 08, 2018, 03:30:09 AM
Not quite the same thing, but I sometimes have moments where I wonder how I'm alive. And not in a "I've done so much stupid shit, I should be dead right now" kind of way (though I have those moments, too). I mean that if you stop and really think about it, you shouldn't exist. You're made up of billions of cells all working together to keep you going. They live, they die, yet you remain until the day that you die. And yes, you're a multicellular organism, but at the heart of it are a billion cells that make you you. And these cells just work together to make you function. But somewhere along the line, you developed a personality and thoughts and dreams. That's not really required to keep you going, just look at a computer. If the basic function is to keep the majority of your cells alive, that can be achieved through simple actions. But you developed senscience. So if you're a billion cells working together, where is that housed? Yes, the brain, but where did the cells that make up your brain development self awareness? And if you're just made up of cells, then are you self aware or are some of those cells self aware?

It's weird when you think of it like that. In a sense, you don't really exist.

225  Other / Politics & Society / Re: How deal with bullies at work? on: January 08, 2018, 12:28:44 AM
There are many reasons why these situations arise ranging from severe discrimination to a simple clash of personalities or a misunderstanding that has gone too far.

Your first call should be to your employer. They have a duty to prevent bullying and harassment in the workplace and they should have a grievance procedure you can follow which may include meetings with your manager, mediation or internal investigations.

If you don’t feel able to do that, because you fear it will result in further problems, or you have followed the procedure but the matter has still not been resolved, then you may want consider legal action.
226  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Do Love really exist ? on: January 08, 2018, 12:08:25 AM
Only act as a 100% unified heart-mind. Another common and similar myth is that just because you aren't in love currently, that love will never exist for you. You can call it recency bias, but what it really is, is self-sabotage.
227  Other / Politics & Society / Re: why are people suffering from jealousy ? on: January 07, 2018, 12:56:58 AM
people have no contentment in life. My guess is that they haven't found what they are content with. Perhaps more soul searching is needed. Other factors can include mental illness, environmental, social, and cultural unhappiness as well.

235  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Money can buy happiness? on: October 28, 2017, 02:08:28 AM
Being Rich Isn’t Necessarily the Path to Happiness. Money is important to happiness. Ask anyone who doesn’t have it. Having a higher income, for example, can give us access to homes in safer neighborhoods, better health care and nutrition, fulfilling work, and more leisure time. However, this only works up to a certain point. Once our income reaches a certain level and our basic needs for food, health care, safety, and shelter are met, the positive effects of money—such as buying your dream home—are often offset by the negative effects—such as working longer hours, or in more stressful jobs, to maintain that income.
236  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Drug free in the Philippines on: October 28, 2017, 01:55:34 AM
It won't work. Look at the drug wars in Mexico and central America. A lot more people dealing drugs kill each other. It's a much more dangerous game over there. Has the possibility of getting murder stop it? No. there's a lot of money to be made.

I could see a militia being created in response to this war.

Its hard to clean a country that drugs is rampant. you can buy drugs like vegetables and meat in public market. drug cartels are afraid no one because high government officials before and high ranking authorities are involved. When Pres Duterte assumed office last year he started to clean but some users resist to be arrested thats why it will end in a bloody operations because drug users are armed. The drug war in Philippines is not perfect there are also collateral damage. but atleast he have sa strong courage to clean the country.

240  Other / Politics & Society / Re: do you believe in your government? on: October 27, 2017, 10:05:26 PM
yes for this current administration in my country i definitely believed it. It was very different from the past administration and even before no one can act as fast as his administration. though his not perfect lots of criticism but out of 100% in the survey 80% believed in hia good governance. i don't like mainstream media here they are the one twisting the story to make are president accountable in whats happening here. But the saddened thruth the opposition is making that way to make the president bad in the people through mainstream media news.
