While we were going to distribute Kamera tokens to MBRS holders, we have recently parted with that project due to their complete lack of transparency despite intentions to work together down the road on developing video streaming capabilities within the Embermine Platform (not just adult streaming service). We have refunded the KMR tokens as well as the SLIP tokens they purchased to use Slipstream for their distribution. Well the post isn't going anywhere since Mick quoted it. Here's the response I was writing before it was removed: Well, Harsh. You literally asked to be perma-banned. Not in a "you were asking for it" way, but that was quite literally your request, which Justin proceeded to do. I believe you used the phrase "I am too greedy." Of course if you buy at ATH, you're not going to have a good time in the short term. The market can be a cruel mistress. Several members of this community scorned us when they bought at peak and then it went down. Well, shit happens. I personally detest the "moon" and "bags" talk as that is not where I want the discourse of our community to go and ultimately not what the Embermine Platform is about. I want to build tools for maximizing human potential, not cater to wannabe day traders waiting for moon. I don't care about riches and glory, I simply want to make a difference with tools that actual creatives will use, not people obsessively checking portfolios and their gains. That's actually a reason I really like Autonio, is that their tech has the potential to be used in a variety of contexts with end-users interacting with the market without making it a part-time job. There may have been assumptions as to when and how the hack would be resolved. Modifying a timeline when trusted third parties are involved is risky when it comes to expectations. Everything is in flux, in constant motion. No one is "conning newbies," the whole bags talk, which I am not fond of, is simply familiar parlance amongst enthusiastic traders and supporters of this space. I prefer talk of blockchain's merits as a technology rather using price as the sole metric of success (which it is not). Is Bitcoin being used as P2P digital cash or a viable medium of exchange in commerce in any significant way since its inception nine years ago? No. But people are enamored by the price. Eventually, I want the majority of the active members of the community to be creatives interested in using the platform. Because those people are why we are doing this in the first place. ------------------ Bottom line. Patience is a virtue in this space. Posting a huge block of ALL CAPS text in a community forum denouncing the project and the team when you appeared enthusiastic and excited about the project a week ago is not a great way to approach things. Anyway, back to it! |

I do not understand about this Embermine project because of the lack of information. But after seeing a team of great people, I think this project will run smoothly.
The website has some info on there, including an FAQ, but the Platform paper will explain things in more detail and provide necessary context. |

just wanted to let everyone know that we have fully regained control of our GoDaddy account. We have several authorities now that have access to all of the data and files that have been compromised, as well as all of the log files which will help establish the chain of attack and finalize our case against those who have tried to corrupt our network.
Now that we have our servers back and under control I can finally direct our course out of the delays. There are two definite results of this attack that will actually help us.
1) This should be the final nail in the coffin of all the Embercoin/Embermine confusion.
How we came to get hacked was because a group of individuals who lost massive amounts of money on EMB hacked us in an attempt to extort us for money by threatening us with Embercoin's (NOT Embermine's) data. They have sent emails and communication with some of our potential and existing business partners in an effort to force our hands, all the while claiming that they have evidence of Embercoin's obvious manipulation. As far as we know at this stage, they either really do have this information or they don't. It does not matter to me. In fact, it is exactly this evidence the removes, beyond any doubt or suspicion, any connection between Embermine, its employees and business partners, and whoever was in charge of Embercoin.
The simple fact that these two rocket scientists decided to hack us looking for more dirt or in an attempt to extort us with the very release of information that will prove nothing more than our innocence, and in the course of that hack, did nothing but reveal to them a storage network full of data proving our actual work for our business, means that their hack did nothing but acquit our efforts with Embermine.
But there are greater considerations than those of our files. There is concern for our customers and business partners. Just because we do not mind that our information is or was in the hands of those who mean to do us harm does not meant that we can take lightly the concern that our Community and business partners may have regarding the same information, whether that be ours or theirs. This leads me to the second result of the hack.
2) The cause of Decentralization and personal Data Accountability was just proven to be even more important especially upon the network upon which our Users exist. Nothing that has happened in the past week has done anything except show me exactly how important our cause is, not just to our Community, our business partners, and our company. But to me, personally. I detected and discovered the infiltration within seconds of it happening. I immediately informed all of the authorities in question and proceeded to shut the hacker down in every area of my personal and professional life in a matter of a few phone calls, with the notable exception for our servers.

This was not just our websites. But also our email servers. Application servers. All with an open pipe to the world's data networks with multitudes of targets and vulnerabilites, and not just Embermine ones. All it would have taken was for our hacker bros to either a) Want an open application server to run scripts and send them out to an unsuspecting audience or b) know what to do with just such an opportunity and they would have had over 6 days of unfettered access to these resources to wreak havok. The delay and friction that existed just to get anyone to even listen and take corrective action upon this confirmed activity was astounding. The simple fact that this is not a much much bigger issue is because, frankly. only because of either a lack of desire or a lack of ability. Something that everyone knows is rarely the case. I already had a hard stance on decentralization, but this event has showed me that the real battle is with data control. As we fly into the rapid digitization of everything from finance to our history, centralization of data and its access provides an unacceptable level of control over someone's digital value in the hands of those who value it the least, but gain the biggest profit by having it: companies, hackers, and governments, but care the least about its protection. This does not mean that they don't care, it simply means that the scales of economy differ to them. They, by proportion, care far less about your data than you do, but their ability to extract value from it is significantly easier by that same porportion.
This is why an effective digital economy cannot be centralized. The counterparty risk is too high in proportion to the value we receive for giving it up our control of it, and that gulf widens every single day as more people are forced to do it in order to participate in the digital economy at all. So we currently play roulette with our data. We may be the house, but the odds are out of sync with the pay out. Some people only have to lose ONCE and they can lose everything. We are lucky because we started this company upon a foundation of transparency. I tell everyone every single day how important it is that we always act in accordance with our Manifesto. That we must always assume that people are paying attention (as they should), and our own actions will indict or acquit our actions and activities. Which is why we were never concerned about the data that was stolen. Yes, we would much prefer to have the opportunity to develop and design our platform without someone nitpicking at still developing details. At the same time, if the information on our work were released to the public, It would not bother me except that I would have to worry about someone claiming credit for our ideas or stealing ones from our business and research partners. This is one of the many reasons for IDEAToken, by the way, but that is for another conversation.

But enough of the stumping for privacy and decentralization, we have plenty of time for that later. Now that all this has happened, and we have control over "our" servers once again, where do we go from here to get back on track? We would love nothing more than to move forward as if none of this has happened and pick up where we left off, but we do not have that luxury any more. Due to the design of these systems and the stage of business we are at currently, completely leaving GoDaddy's environment is a huge delay for us. And an unacceptable one at this point. But we cannot stay on the original managed server as well. That one is being quarantined and saved for investigation. A brand new server is being given to us, with completely new IP addresses, SSL certificates, and the such. Despite taking us a few days to finish all of these steps, it also affords us an opportunity we did not really have before. The ability to completely divorce ourselves from some of our earlier website development solutions. But this does mean that there is going to be some disruption with our web and email services for a couple of days as we rebuild all of our systems to accomodate this move.
The one site that is not completely being destroyed before being rebuilt is TokenVerse. It was already operating seperately from Embermine in terms of its function and access, and always had the most stable development and access, it is also "boring" and filled with public information. All of the logs indicate that there was no access or intrusion into it. After we conduct a security audit on the site, it will be the first one that is copied and moved to the the new server when it is complete. Then the rest of the server will be quarantined and all domains and services transferred or recreated on the new server.
This process will take at least two full days to complete, and then we will begin again with the process of getting our new sites up and running, Trello updated and shared publicly, and finally the release of our Platform and Techne Blockchain white papers. We are aware that all of you are anxious, we are too! But we are going to do this right, and make sure we hit our mark.
So we are setting a date of Wednesday, November 22nd, 2017 as the target date by which all will be complete and active. Yes, the day before Thanksgiving. I figure that will give, at least in the United States, the holiday weekend to digest the information along with their turkey and stuffing.
We will be setting up a more detailed list of expectations and timing of releases once we have completed the process of setting up the new server. Thank you all for your patience and support of Embermine. It has been fun, despite the issues, to get to see the phenomenal response to our partners at Autonio, and the wonderful implications of their technology on the world of crypto. I will, as always, try to keep everyone informed of our progress and give everyone an update by the end of the day today.

I live in Hong Kong, can I participate in the ICO?
The initial token distribution for Embermine took place early June. We have since done distributions of other tokens for ancillary projects using MBRS as a "rail" to emulate how projects created and launched on the Embermine Platform will be able to distribute their tokens to the market. These tokens are DOM, SLIP, TOV, IDEA, and KNOW. We are also in partnership with Autonio (NIO) who dropped some of their tokens to MBRS holders. MBRS are currently trading at EtherDelta, Cryptopia, Singular X, and Radar Relay. We are in the middle of providing our roadmap, updated websites, new platform paper, and protocol paper. Our GoDaddy server and Dropbox were hacked last Tuesday. We have just recently started to recover from that (GoDaddy's service has been, well, it's been lacking). |

We are working on getting our sites updated, and our papers (platform and protocol) and roadmap uploaded to our Trello. In case anyone here has not been tuned into our Telegram over the past few days, our Dropbox and Godaddy accounts were hacked. So this obviously hindered our workflow. The situation is being resolved.

Hi. Why do you need smart contracts? . How do you differ from your competitors? I’d like to know more about this project whom should I contact?
Hi there Stan, my name is Garrison Breckenridge, Co-founder of Embermine. Smart contracts can help eliminate the unnecessary frictions in the creative/collaborative process. The origins of Embermine are directly tied to the failure of an independent publishing company that used Amazon as its enterprise backbone. This means 30% cut on every sale, monthly checks (from each region; US, UK, etc), at a two-month latency. This is not only incredibly inefficient for the author, but also the publisher, with the latter being a central point of vulnerability and human error. We originally tried to think of a way to do automated distributed payments that honor royalty agreements with traditional payment gateways like PayPal, Stripe, or Square, but ran into a wall. That wasn't a solution; that granularity of control was missing. Then I discovered Ethereum, after which my partner James Drake and I promptly fell into the winding rabbit hole that is blockchain. Agreements between parties are the backbone of commerce, usually enforced by a legalese prose document. Unfortunately, these documents can lead to ambiguity and are subject to "whim". Smart contracts are just automated processing scripts--code--that doesn't have any legal binding to them, but they can be an operable form of an agreement, namely how assets (or some unit of value) are moved about. Who, what, when, how, why? Code is law is code. Both software and law are modular, with a lot of boilerplate information (text). By isolating the parameters and creating a What You See is What You Sign user experience, we can allow creatives to leverage this technology for their own business endeavors and agreements. Now you can introduce the element of the Ricardian contract (Ian Grigg), in which the paramaters of the smart contract are matched with the "params" of a no-nonsense natural language document. This allows one to clarify intent behind the programmed agreements to eliminate ambiguity; this can also serve as a necessary mechanism for arbitration in the event of a dispute. We are bringing digital scarcity to creative works. This not only allows a digital secondary market, but transaction fees as these assets change hands go back to the project of their origin and are then processed by the Compact, the nexus of code and prose contracts the govern a particular project and enforce ownership and compensation. There are other projects working to make the creative space fairer for the actual creatives: Decent, CreativeChain, SingularDTV, Opus, Resonate, Token FM, Mycelia, and many others. It is encouraging that others are trying to solve the same problems. To go into detail on why our approach is different from each of these projects would be tedious. That being said... We are about to release a revised whitepaper that details the design of the platform. We are also in the midst of updating our website. It is time for us to be VERY transparent regarding what is going to happen between now and November 10th. This is important because the paths that we choose ultimately hinge on an intended presentation on November 1st during DevCon3 and ultimately decide the shape of the full Embermine Development Timeline, on November 10th, 2017.
In this situation, there are two possible outcomes:
1) The secretive, blockchain development project that is happening independent of Embermine, results in a blockchain that is not only revealed on November 1-4th, but also remained true to their creators' ideals and conception pitched to us in August and that they maintained much of the favorable opinion toward us exclusively utilizing their technology as one of the primary use cases for their blockchain. Most of the names of those involved have been identified and they involve a number of "old school" blockchain experts and programmers. But due to the secrecy behind the project, we were left with minimal details and had to continue working ourselves on:
2) "Techne". Since the beginning, I have been working not only upon our daily work, but I have also been developing the system logic and consensus protocols for our own blockchain, code name "Techne" during our development. It will be 100% open source, free, fast, and able to interact on the application level with other chains and platforms. We have been working very quietly and slowly on this, but were/are doing so as a hedge against option #1, if it is failed to be delivered or is incompatible in some critical manner. But Techne will be exactly what we need and everything that Option #1 is when completed, but it will all of the community's and built specifically for our purpose. We will still have those from Option #1 likely available in some capacity as part of the code review, open source contributor, or advisory. But I have already developed a great deal of the
"soup to nuts" philosophy.
So there you go.
If Mystery Blockchain #1 comes through as they expect and in accordance with their announced direction, we will stay with them, and develop our platform upon their protocol. But if they do not, or it somehow does not meet our specific criteria, we will move aggressively forward with the development of our blockchain and the projects that surround and support it.
Yes it is very ambitious, and yes, it has a chance of failure. But the reality is that I am quite certain that with our growing list of partnerships and connections to important "bridge technologies" we will be able to do the job that needs to be done. From wallets (Pillar) to AR/VR imaging systems (Lampix). From AI (Autonio/AlgoShare) to Apartments (RentBerry).
So this is it. One way or another, everything about our technology path, timelines, objectives, progress, and philosophy will be completely revealed and explained. Anything "missing" at that point is either something on the project task list, or has been determined to be unnecessary with the current needs of the protocol.
So, please know that we have had, always have, and always will have backup plans to all of our development and design goals. This is simply one of them, but I felt that it was fair to let everyone know what will happen in case it did not go as planned the next few days.

For the Protocol Whitepaper would also examine, discuss, and present the "Three Token System" and its full intentions to the whole world.
Finally, in the midst of all of this, we are joining up with a number of companies, organizations, and projects who are ready to build and launch upon the Embermine Platform. But one of our most exciting projects that will be announced in much greater detail sometime during the next few days will be our involvement in the "Prosperity Consortium", a special group of industry developers who will be working together to bring the whole world closer to technological equality.
So much going on, and I feel like I have only scratched the surface of all of the things we have coming together and going on right now. I am going to bed now...

Shit, it’s the cryptoverse! This is uncharted territory where everyday is sure to be a rollercoaster filled with positive and negative developments whether it be a new SEC ruling or that coin everyone’s been telling you to dump is finally mooning! So I want to remind everyone here of a few things that are key to understanding who we are at Embermine and what we are trying to accomplish as well as just give a general pep talk because we can all use it sometimes. We are taking our first steps as a company, sure, but we are taking calculated steps and gaining traction with each and every one. To question the life of MBRS right now is simply destructive to the project and your own ability to make sound judgements regarding crypto and blockchain projects. I understand that many folks in here may fall into more of a speculative, day-trading-esque category of crypto enthusiast and there’s no problem with that. We like to have fun and be weird, this should be no secret. I enjoy a tasteful when moon?! meme as much as the next guy I promise you but it’s imperative that we remain focused and maintain a grounded perspective with regards to the project. Need I remind folks that it has taken 10 Year’s for Bitcoin to achieve the heights and mainstream attention it has? Keep in mind MBRS are not just another digital currency with the only use case being to hopefully get rich by holding it long enough. We’re a team of techy-nerd-creative-goofballs that banded together behind a man with a dream to drastically change the systems in place that kept him from being able to fully realize his original dream of becoming a successful book publisher that wouldn’t in turn break the bank and force him to make decisions that pitted the success of his against the well-being of his family. We take pride in and like to believe that we are unlike any other blockchain project out there. We strive to be as transparent and honest with our community as possible and I think often times even to our own detriment. But that is the Embermine way. It’s also no secret that we did not have what would be considered even a mildly successful ICO. It’s no secret that there are times we have been unable to meet our target dates of our airdrops. However behind the crazy and beautiful mind of our fearless leader @embermine_drake we have rolled with those punches and continue to do so with our nose to the grindstone and powered by nothing but forward thinking and raw ambition. It’s a little strange to think of something 100% digital as a grassroots type of movement/campaign, but that is exactly what we are and we cherish the intimacy we have with our community and the outpouring of support most of you have shown through the last couple months. I’m sure we’ve all been frustrated at some point or another trying to explain these concepts to someone who’s having a hard time grasping them because we know they are less scary and so much easier to understand than it seems when first subjected to them. I remember my first “oh my god I get it!” Moment regarding blockchain or crypto and thinking to myself that it came months sooner than I’d expected. We must become fervent ambassadors of not just Embermine, but the industry as a whole to the world. We need to keep the fact that this is the future folks, and the sooner the word gets out, the sooner we will see these new ideas mold this giant spinning rock into a place that any man woman or child may live a positive, fruitful life with full agency in whatever journeys ad endeavors they so choose to embark upon. Lastly, marketing has been brought up here and there in regard to the project and I’d like to assure those that we are fully aware of our shortcomings in this area. I do believe this to be a significant factor in the lack of success during our ICO. However, 100 times out of 100 I would rather someone become invigorated and passionate about us because of our vision, passion, and the project itself and not because they were coerced by some flashy website. It’s a bit unfortunate, considering the numerous examples of ICOs having raised millions of dollars behind a mirage of a project and a kickass website, but a dynamic web presence is certainly key to mass acceptance and belief in a project, no matter how great the idea, vision, and gumption possessed by the team behind it. I assure everyone that we are fully aware of these things and will be dedicating ourselves to build up these valuable channels of outreach and marketing. As we continue to grow our staff in the coming weeks will be implementing a series of campaigns and marketing projects (including updated and more thorough website aesthetics and content) specifically geared toward getting the word out to the world of blockchain and crypto as well as the rest of the globe. 10/1 - SlipStream (SLIP) to MBRS holders (2:1), Snapshot @ noon central time Contract Address: 0x27537ff4dF3081Cef9Bee9B29caC764067b42611Token distribution application which allows a User to distribute tokens to holders of any other token or coin or across a range of addresses given to it. Slipstream will be the integrated interface people will use to find and navigate to various Embermine Platform projects. 10/15 - Descrptopia (DES) to TokenVerse (TOV) holdersION (ION) - Released TBDTransactional unit of value within the Embermine platform. Royalties. Buying an E Book. Etc. Sparks (SPARK) - Released TBDActivity/popularity metric. Every interaction and transaction creates some HEAT, giving them more efficacy in the ecosystem. From comments and signal boosting your favorite projects or as a parallel "cost" to purchasing content. Possible use in reputation systems as well.
Note: In order to receive the airdrops, you must be holding the tokens in an ERC20 compatible wallet (MyEtherWallet, ledger or similar) at the time of the snapshot. Keeping them on an exchange will result in you not receiving your tokens Is the airdrop of SPARK already scheduled? No not yet. There will not be a rail distribution for ION or Sparks (working title, previously HEAT). ION is the transactional unit of value on the Embermine Platform used to purchase goods and services. Distributing it in the same manner as the other tokens would go against its purpose. Sparks (HEAT) also has its own unique role in the platform that a distribution would immediately negate. The previous tokens are Project tokens, similar to that which Projects on the Embermine platform will be able to release. ION is the transactional unit that circulates throughout the ecosystem. Sparks (HEAT) have their own mechanism, so putting them on the open market would create a severe imbalance. I think at some point someone was asking about other tokens in the Embermine ecosystem and the latter two were lumped in with the other distributed tokens. The KNOW distribution, which will soon be underway, will be the last that the Embermine team conducts before minimum viable product. Other projects like Autonio and Gitto will or are planning to airdrop their tokens to MBRS holders, but the Embermine team is not directly facilitating these distributions. |

Just stumbled onto this amazing project. In order to participate in any future Embermine airdrops, do I just need to own MBRS and keep it in an ETH wallet like MyEtherWallet during the snapshot? I'm going to buy up a nice handful of MBRS!
Our previous airdrops (or as we like to call it, rail distributions) were done with MBRS as the rail. Our last airdrop is for the KNOW (Knowledge) token for the Xandria project (decentralized knowledge base with emphasis on future technologies and research). The rail in this instance will be TOV (Tokenverse token) at a 2 to 1 ratio (KNOW to TOV). The snapshot will take place on Oct. 15. And yes, you must keep TOV in an ERC20 compatible wallet like MEW to be part of the snapshot. Other airdrops using MBRS as the rail may arise, but they will not be facilitated by the Embermine team. But the more holders of MBRS the better. Heavily revised whitepaper will also be available within the next couple of days before we leave for the MERGE! Conference in Orlando. |

We're not doing an ICO (thread originally started by early supporter when we did our token sale), but thanks! We've been distributing tokens using a rail system, in which one token is the rail through which the others are distributed. For free. With the current regulatory climate, ALL of the "authoritative" exchanges are being incredibly cautious. Developments on their end virtually halted or slowed considerably. That being said, we are set to have all the Embermine related tokens available to trade on Radar Relay, a relayer exchange built on the 0x Protocol that allows truly P2P trading. I did not receive a PM. I am not that familiar with the Waves platform or their wallet. I know they have their own token generation capabilities; whether or not ERC20 tokens are compatible with Waves wallet, I do not know. |

Any upcoming Embermine airdrop? Unfortunatelly I didn't learn about this project in May when it was still in an earlier stage. Now hoping to find a way to catch up...
We are in the middle of the SLIP distribution, but if you are just now tuning in you unfortunately missed the drop; however, the last rail distribution Embermine will do is for KNOW, or Knowledge Tokens, for the Xandria Project. The goal of which is to build a 'tree of knowledge' that is resilient, with emphasis on future technologies and other techno-social phenomenon of note. The snapshot for this will take place on Oct. 15. Except this time the rail token will not be MBRS, but TOV (Tokenverse Token).
