How do you guys think the balances could be transferred to a new platform and authenticate?
Can the usernames and passwords (I assume hashed) and the 2FA settings migrated?
Cant imagine that would be easy!

I run a marketplace for Nootropics and we have a Bitcoin system where all users have a Bitcoin wallet.

We recently had to switch servers. The process for us was incredibly straightforward, just had to copy site files and database to new server, then everything was restored and users could withdraw from their wallets.

The only thing in this process that was a problem is the time it takes to transfer site files to new server. It took nearly two days for us. Our site isn't small, but I can't imagine anything near that of BTC-E site's size.

Just my 2 cents. Have faith, and long live BTC-E.

Hurrah for BTC-E! They've NEVER let us down. I was once hacked. 100,000$ in Bitcoin was in my BTC-E wallet. The hacker didn't have my email so couldn't approve withdraw. BTC-E locked my account after I told them. Although the support was absolutely the worst I've ever come by (I literally didn't get a response for over a week regarding when/if my wallet would be unlocked), it was excruciating, but finally they came thru. I was able to prove the account belonged to me, not the hacker, and I got my account back  Grin

BTC-E is on another level of trustworthiness. I will hold my love rant until service is renewed, but I can tell you now, BTC-E is as HONEST as they come.

If these funds are seized by government I wonder how many suicides there will be, we should keep track of that if aforementioned is the case.

As far as I know, the BTC-e servers are in russia, US can't have taken them and so I don't think they have any private keys at all (maybe only Alexanders one from his phone).
So could it be this ETH move is done by the BTC-e admins for their new website???

From my understanding, from reading the indictment, BTC-E did have servers in United States.

I have $200,000$ Bitcoin in BTC-E.. about 2/3 my net worth..I have always been legit, even went out of my way and paid upward of $25,000 taxes to USGOV when I wire transferred out of BTC-E year or two ago.. There is no legal basis to steal our money, I like to think it can't be done.

RIght clearly people are getting a bit negative again, having potentially lost every fucking penny on some bullshit. But Lets get some perspective:

The Man wants a $100Million fine, why would they want a fine paid if they just take everyones funds? Shit don't make sense.

Heres the dream scenario: BTC-e negotiates a repayment scheme of $50mil and to comply with US regs. in return for the btc-e domain back and trading restart

That's good business right there.

Stop implement hope again. I have $200k in btce and I am consider it absolutely lost. Yes I will wait until the first week of August to erase that last doubt of return.

What reasons do you have for such little hope?

@bonker, good points.

$200,000 in BTC-E as well.. If our money is stolen by US gov that is so f'ing criminal.. Fingers crossed BTC-E will come thru like they always have in times of crisis. I have faith, but I may be biased..
9  Economy / Goods / Bitcoin for Brain Supplements |NootropicPlace.com| (Smart Drugs + Supplements) on: July 21, 2017, 07:15:31 PM
Greetings!

I would like to bring to your attention the NootropicPlace market, a market for cognitive enhancement supplements with a sophisticated built in Bitcoin wallet payment system.

Competitiveness is nothing new - it is how we humans climbed our way to the top of the ladder and how we made all the progress we enjoy today. It also shows no sign of slowing down, in fact, thanks to a host of factors including; longer active lifespans, increased globalization and a higher-than-ever proportion of graduates entering the workplace, competition is becoming fiercer, and our innate competitiveness with it.

However, even with all the advantages supporting us, including better nutrition, better healthcare and more access to resources than our forefathers, there is only so much one human body and mind can handle without feeling the pressure and burning out. In a world that is increasingly complex and brain-demanding, what is the answer to the increasing pressure to perform?

One field that is quickly growing in popularity is Nootropics - colloquially known as smart drugs. These supplements, can include a number of natural cognitive enhancers, manufactured drugs, nutritional supplements and a variety of others, promise to help improve the user’s cognitive function, giving them the competitive advantage over their peers.

Unfortunately, the history of Nootropics is peppered with inconsistency and controversy, with some experts squarely in favor of their use, and others debating whether or not certain types of cognitive enhancers are useful at all. As a result, there has been a fragmenting in the research, development and marketing of Nootropics - a trait which history shows us to be common to new and rapidly expanding industries.

An industry plagued with scams and rip offs
At the moment, the Nootropics industry lacks sufficient FDA approval. This is compounded by the proliferation of sellers spread throughout the web, meaning that the mantle of good business practice often rests solely on the shoulders of the vendor - creating an industry ripe for exploitation by dishonest, unscrupulous and fraudulent operators.

In an effort to combat the fraud that is rife throughout the industry, NootropicPlace has collected, collated and verified information on all legitimate, tested Nootropics, offering completely impartial and detailed information pages and analyses of the products that can be bought through our platform. We also provide nearly 800 informative, educational articles to help you make the right choice.

Where does this leave the consumer?
Due to this kind of fragmentation, it can be difficult for the potential user of brain and mind enhancing supplements to figure out which smart drugs are useful and which are so much snake oil, peddled by unscrupulous sellers. This often resulting in thousands of dollars wasted, and a belief in the potential of Nootropics irrevocably damaged.

Is there a case for Nootropics?
Yes! There are several peer-reviewed studies that show positive results for a range of Nootropic supplements, from dietary supplements to medical stimulants, certain amino acids and various others. While the field is still in its infancy, there is massive potential for ethical and legitimate growth and development, provided ethical suppliers can get their products to users.

Creating a unified marketplace
At the moment, the smart drug industry is in desperate need of two things: first, it needs more intensive and detailed scientific research, including a thorough and ethical sharing of information to advance the availability of genuine cognitive enhancing supplements, medications and other substances. Second, it needs a viable and secure marketplace where proven, peer reviewed and, most important, consumer reviewed products can be purchased and sold.

The mission behind NootropicPlace is to provide a community driven marketplace, to help not only legitimate sellers of Nootropics find customers, but also to help potential customers find quality products through a system of user testimonials and a compendium of unbiased Nootropic information.

Building an infrastructure
The widest gap in the Nootropic marketplace lies between buyers and sellers - and clearly, this is a problem. Finding trusted platforms through which to either sell or buy products is presenting a challenge on both sides of the transaction scale, which is why we have developed the first Nootropic marketplace that runs on user reviews and supports only the sale of proven Nootropic supplements.

In addition to increased customer traffic, among the benefits that quality Nootropic suppliers will find are increased access to a global market of people interested in using Nootropics, better transparency in terms of understanding their competitors, and the opportunity to legitimize their place in the market. Consumers, on the other hand, will enjoy better and wider access to proven products, more competitive pricing, and the peace of mind that comes with being able to review the products openly and honestly, as well as reading other users’ reviews.

This is an exciting time for Cognitive Enhancement, as well as Bitcoin. Both are rapidly spreading in popularity throughout the globe. Our dedicated team, that's been working on this project for over a year, believes firmly that the two are a match made in heaven.

At the moment we could use help getting legit suppliers on the market, if your capable and willing, please contact me and we can discuss further. Also if capable in advertising of whatever type, would be interested in hearing from you.

Pondering the idea of a banner campaign for this here great forum. If anyone can make a banner for us, or otherwise advise in this area, let me know!

We can work out payment via Bitcoin, and/or, if you bring enough to the table you can stake a portion of the business. There is no commission fee's now, and we don't plan to implement them any time soon, but down the road it will be our income.

P.S. We have to give a shoutout to vendor to Nootropic-R-Us for setting the standard so high with his domestic USA Modafinil and Etizolam!
10  Other / Off-topic / How many of you use Nootropics? (Brain supplements, Nutraceuticals, etc)? on: July 20, 2017, 07:35:39 PM
As the title reads i'm interested in how many Bitcoiners use Nootropics. I ask because the only two Bitcoin folk i've ran into in RL have revealed to me a great interest in smart drugs, like Modafinil. Also, i'm part of a Bitcoin marketplace for Nootropics, NootropicPlace, and the market's got many Bitcoin orders since we implemented the Bitcoin system.

Could their be a correlation?

If you've use brain supplements, please share your experience!

Hello fellow Bitcoiners,

I would like to bring to your attention the NootropicPlace market, we are a market for Nootropics with a built in Bitcoin payment system. Everyone who registers is generated their own Bitcoin address which they can deposit to fund their wallet. These funds can be used in orders for vendors who accept Bitcoin payment.

I must add, gambling is really never a good decision. This is coming from someone who's lost it all with gambling, but by some miracle managed to stop and get it all back.. Damn you SatoshiDice!

If I have to choose, Blackjack.
13  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin saving on: March 28, 2017, 05:17:41 PM
I've implemented a Bitcoin system with the help of block.io on my marketplace for Nootropics, NootropicPlace.com.

Was able to set it up, relatively easily, so that everyone who registers is generated their own store Bitcoin address. Funds can be sent to this Bitcoin address to fund their wallet. Also, orders can be placed, and withdraws made from their wallet and its all done automatically!

After seeing how wonderful a system Bitcoin is, I am a true believer. What an amazing technology!
