Can someone please tell me the point of feathercoin?  I mean, given that it's a clone of litecoin and doesn't offer anything new except 4x the coins (wow, given the divisibility of litecoin and any other alt-currency . . . this seems to be not important. So, why even use feathercoin when litecoin is admittedly more established and does exactly the same thing?

If you're seariously interested in mining with Linux, I suggest you use BAMT (google search it).  It is a modified version of linux used just for mining alt-coins.  It's a great OS.  However, I have some problems with it:  undervolting doesn't seem to work.  I can still get more hash power with the same system using Windows.
