521  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can Gambling affect your relationship? on: September 28, 2023, 05:31:24 PM
The importance of being open to each other and communicating well with your partner will help gambling become better, although maybe not many women like men who gamble, but believe me, if we are honest with our partner, he will definitely understand, just give him the trust to manage the gambling budget so that we not going too far because we need someone to remind us not to play too far.
There are many couples who might never allow their husbands/wives to be involved in gambling, because they know the impact of gambling can bring problems in their lives, especially if the couple only relies on mediocre salaries for gambling. To meet daily needs is so difficult and involved in gambling will only make new problems for their lives. Unlike the case when the large income they get from routine jobs and does not affect the course of their daily lives and maybe cases like this can be accepted by our partners.

I applied this to my wife where I asked her to manage all my gambling budget, after all there is no need to be in debt to anyone, it is better to gamble with money that we are ready to lose to have fun, after all my gambling habit is usually to fill my holiday time, not to make money, I always think of winning at gambling as a bonus. If I lose, just think of me paying for something that is fun for me. The point is to be open with our partner and honest so that it doesn't get messy, let alone make the relationship fall apart.
You are one of the lucky men if the wife allows you to gamble because in the area where I live there is very rare for a wife who allowed her husband to gamble. Regulating the gambling budget is very important, so as not to cause problems in the household and usually gamblers will be very difficult to regulate the gambling budget, because of the great desire to get a victory in every gambling they play. Except gambling as you do because it has a certain time and not too addicted.
522  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is gambling all about luck? on: September 28, 2023, 05:14:02 PM
If you're a professional gambler in sports, you've analyze the match and your bet are correct, you shouldn't think it's because of your skill, but it's due to your luck.
Different if we use betting in football because maybe we can make predictions of the game and in the end we will place bets for a particular team's victory, but still if we do not have a luck will surely experience defeat and even if betting in football. But for the type of slot gambling or other may be true, that everything is based on a much greater level of luck because we will fight the system.

If you're a newbie who never gamble, you blindly bet on team because you like the logo or name and surprisingly you win it, it's because of your luck.
A beginner will actually be a lot of things that need to be considered and gambling is not a solution, especially if they bet on football matches and if they don't have a hobby of football it will be much more difficult in analyzing the match.
523  Economy / Economics / Re: Is academic pursues enough to get incomes? on: September 28, 2023, 04:57:16 PM
I really want know if getting more degrees can make life financially better because I come from a country where their are no job and I have seen people that the only thing they can do in life is to read books, getting more degrees attaining all these degrees yet no still go job for them with good pay. Do think people who read in a region with slim job opportunities are doing the right thing?
If I'm not mistaken, S3 graduates have salaries at the college level and most S3 graduates usually have a large salary if they are actively teaching on campus. But I do not really agree that education is always associated with money because actually education is a way to achieve knowledge that will bring someone to moral education. Getting many titles may not be able to bring someone to get a large salary and it depends on their active teaching at several universities, if many of the campuses they use to teach then there will be a lot of income they might get.

Most people who go for more degrees believe they can get better job at the end of the day. People that only go for more degrees in a stare with high unemployment rate are they doing right thing by putting all their focus on academic because this is the only thing they can do best.
Depending on themselves because if chasing the title and not implemented in teaching it will not make them get anything. If asked whether they have done the right job, maybe the answer depends on the opportunity they have and if they are able to run correctly, maybe the knowledge they get can bring them at the stage to find income.
524  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Season on: September 27, 2023, 03:01:52 PM
This season is the third time Real Madrid and Napoli have met in the Champions League, because the last time they met was in 2017 in the Champions League Final Stage, at which time Real Madrid was able to emerge victorious. But this time, I think it will be very different because these two teams have very different strengths compared to five years ago, so the level of excitement in the match will probably be presented again at Diego Armando Maradona, namely Napoli's home ground.
Head to head Real Madrid is still quite superior in this meeting and it will be quite different when Real Madrid plays in the Champions League even though they lost to Atletico Madrid in La Liga. For Napoli this time it is a revenge mission against Real Madrid because they always get unsatisfactory results when facing Real Madrid, but if you look at their current strength, it is probably impossible for them to beat Real Madrid easily. I'm also not really sure about Rudi Garcia's ability to handle Napoli, especially since the Champions League competition will be quite different from Serie A.

Osimhen looked so angry when Rudi Garcia sent him off in the last match in Serie A and in several reports I read he was so angry because Osimhen missed the penalty. If the relationship between players and coaches does not run normally, it is not impossible that it could affect the course of the match, especially since Osimhen was a striker who was relied on so very last season.
525  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Success or Fail? - Talking about Gambling as a major income on: September 27, 2023, 02:05:36 PM
Opinion One, a few people called Professional Gambler take gambling as a job for a living. These people have the skills to make that happen. My scheme is working on that. But it looks like so scam to many dudes, so you judge it on your own risk.
I think that only applies to those who have a casino business and it will be quite difficult to make regular profits for gambling enthusiasts. What do you mean by professional gamblers, are they the elite group who gamble only for entertainment and fun, because only they have the opportunity to win big from the gambling they play and may not end up consistently winning regularly every time.

Opinion Three, this is the most important one. YOU. No one put a gun on your head to push you to gamble. You can do anything if you can control yourself by supreme rules. Like the stop-loss, stop-win, gamble hours per day......The key is self-control. Comparing the power of self-control, others are unimportant. Some people success, then they can be called professional gambler.
Unfortunately it will be quite difficult to control gambling when someone is so addicted and I think there are a lot of cases that might end up pretty badly. The difference between rich people and ordinary people in gambling is very big, rich people may gamble only to the extent of their ability to spend money responsibly and they do not use a budget for their daily needs. Meanwhile, ordinary people gamble to make money to support their lives and it is at this point that the pattern of gambling is considered wrong because when they lose they will lose money as a means of supporting their lives.
526  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can Gambling affect your relationship? on: September 27, 2023, 01:30:53 PM
Yes, Gambling addiction has strained a lot of relationships through financial instabilities emotional turmoil, social isolation, and family problems. Gambling which was meant to be a popular kind of entertainment for many and was designed to provide a temporary escape from everyday life and also help one to be more observant mentally task your brain and it is also good for your mental brain. When it becomes an addiction it causes financial strain the strain can manifest in various ways including the loss of shared savings, debt accumulation, and financial secrecy which may lead to strained communication between partners. This communication breakdown can prevent couples, friends, and associates from working together.
Everyone basically knows that irresponsible gambling will make their lives worse. Savings will be used up for gambling, relationships with family may become increasingly problematic and their lifestyle will be much more lazy to work in real life. Unfortunately when addiction is caused by excessive gambling it can be very difficult to control. Giving advice is much easier than quitting gambling and most people are only able to give advice theoretically and they may not delve into the psychology of addicted gamblers.

What's worse is that gambling can cause the accumulation of debt to become greater, the relationship between husband and wife becomes messy and in the end it will have a much worse impact on life. The phrase don't play near a well if you don't want to fell it, might be suitable to describe it all and the decision is entirely up to each individual.
527  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is gambling all about luck? on: September 27, 2023, 01:08:48 PM
In my opinion making cash from gambling is not a good option and the statistical probability that you will win every game at every casino is very low. I think winning or losing every game is completely in your head, so your individual tricks are not there. However, we all have some kind of luck so we should strive for what is possible for us
Questions like this seem to have been asked frequently in forums and there are many variations in the answers given by each user. Your opinion may not necessarily be accepted by those who frequently gamble because despite the essence of gambling it can have a bad impact on most people who are not able to be responsible. I don't really know how the casino system works, but each casino may have a different way of working, so the winning rate at a casino really depends on the system it runs.

We often hear that gambling involves luck and that is the process of gambling every time people bet and there is a reason why football betting may be much more rational because we rely on predictions of a club's victory when competing and don't rely entirely on luck
528  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do you feel when you look at your first Bitcoin wallet? on: September 27, 2023, 12:26:39 PM
Just recently, I was tempted to check my first ever Bitcoin wallet to see what I have done in the past. I was so depressed seeing the volume of Bitcoin that have passed through my wallet without me saving a reasonable portion of it.

I have the feeling that many forum users too have similar experience; do kindly share just maybe I can feel a little better knowing that I'm not a lone.
I don't know what the purpose of your initial wallet check is, but if I'm not mistaken maybe you are observing the number of transactions that have been made through that wallet, so that a very large volume of bitcoin prices comes out if at that time bitcoin is not being sold. Several times I have also experienced something similar, where when I opened my first wallet it looked amazing and if at that time Bitcoin was not sold, maybe at the next ATH the figure would be much bigger.

What is certain is that you are not the only one experiencing this problem and almost many people have experienced that. Regret or whatever is no longer of any use and what we need to do now is how to collect as many bitcoins as possible to use when ATH returns.
529  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Has your Responsible Gambling had any of these Effects on You? on: September 14, 2023, 07:07:01 PM
This is not a case of being addicted to gambling. There are people who are actually in control of their gambling habits or addiction. For instance, they do not gamble beyond their budget; they commit an hour or two to gambling per week or twice per week and strictly adhere to it, among all other things.
And I'm sure there are many people who are involved in gambling exactly as you say and I am one of those people who might be the same as the story in your post. When I want to gamble usually set a special budget that doesn't interfere with other budgets and also don't gamble regularly because I usually only bet when there's a good football match and the amount isn't too big.

We have heard and read stories here and out there about how gambling ruins lives, careers, relationships, throws people into debt and more. But my question is, could this be happening to everybody?
I think it's real and has happened in life in the world and we may even have witnessed this incident from our close friends. In the end, he divorced his wife, lost his job, went into debt here and there and made life worse, such as depression. Of course, not everyone experiences bad experiences like that because if many people experience these problems, perhaps many people are now living much worse lives.

Has your responsible gambling habit had any positive effects on your relationships with your spouse, kids, parents, and others? Has it improved your finances and helped you stay out of debt? Has it improved your mental health and well being in anyway? Has it been able to help you meet an urgent need? Let's discuss.
Logically gambling is a gamble. Is it possible that gambling can give you big profits or improve your finances on a regular basis? Gambling is always synonymous with negative things, it feels difficult and it could almost be said that it is impossible for people to get regular profits after gambling like the question you asked. A casino owner once said this, "If you want to get rich from gambling then stop gambling and create a gambling site so you can pursue that wealth."
530  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: El Salvador has become the first country to make #Bitcoin legal tender! 🇸🇻 on: September 14, 2023, 05:30:43 PM
Of course success will be achieved if you can teach children about Bitcoin in the right way. Because you must educate both the boys and girls in your organization about Bitcoin as well, because if the children acquire knowledge about Bitcoin from a young age, they will surely bring success when they grow up. As teaching in your institution must face challenges but these challenges you have to face strongly, (conquering fear and move towards the future) because honest work will inevitably face obstacles. Since Bitcoin is legal in your country, of course you are more likely to expect something big in the future.
So far we have only been allowed to use bitcoin as a commodity asset and have not touched on further aspects in terms of purchasing and especially near the area where I live. The challenge is not only from the legal aspect but also from people's beliefs that bitcoin is not as popular as what we often discuss in forums. One day maybe we will give a lot of color to Bitcoin's journey and I'm sure it will take time for us to see that happen and slowly Bitcoin will definitely be heard in all corners of the country and villages.

Of course you can teach your school kids about Bitcoin. Since children's interest in learning about Bitcoin from the initial stage is developed, they can definitely be educated in the right way in the future. And as many challenges come you must face the challenges. I think almost the whole world is in support of Bitcoin so I think education should be given in countries where Bitcoin is legal.
The positive value is that my country does not prohibit bitcoin as a commodity asset so we will not receive any sanctions if we use bitcoin as an investment step. This encouragement is what makes me believe that over the next few years bitcoin will become a real practice that will be implemented by many people as a step to maintain the value of the currency they previously placed in other investments. We will also see the growth of bitcoin adoption becoming more widespread because there are many things that make the advantages offered by bitcoin.

It is appropriate for the younger generation to be taught about Bitcoin and the methods that need to be used only as an introduction as a first step for them. When they have grown up and are able to take responsibility for their lives that is where they can develop an interest in investing.
531  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Saudi Professional League 2023/2024 on: September 14, 2023, 05:00:08 PM
Every footballer is playing because of money and that is why you see that they keep n moving from one club to another for a bigger offer. I don't think that I have seen a professional footballer that during his reign, he left his present club that pays higher, to a club that pays lesser, without saying that he had problems with his club.
Almost most football players who have entered an age that is not very productive or in other words their performance is not like at the peak of their career glory will choose the path you said. But you can see the example of Sergio Ramos who rejected a big offer from Saudi Arabia and chose the club Originally, even though the salary wasn't big. Only this year the issue of money has become a big topic because Saudi Arabia has indicated that money is everything and previously there were only a few players who were able to break the record for the most expensive transfer.

Ronaldo went for the money because that was the only way, he can use to console himself and create awareness on the first page of the sport news paper. Ronaldo was the one that opened the eyes of other players to make them hunger for fat pay because if you get paid for just two years, you can retire with a good pay off.
Ronaldo had difficulty finding a club at that time because he had problems with Manchester United management and in addition there was no club that wanted to bear the burden of Ronaldo's huge salary. So even though it was done for money, perhaps other issues should also be looked at because at that time Ronaldo had no choice but to decide to accept Al Nassr's offer. Unless he is willing to accept a small salary offer like Sergio Ramos and maybe there is a club that is willing to accommodate him.
532  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Learning from those who have experience on: September 14, 2023, 04:09:25 PM
People who have more hallucinations are those who have made big profits from gambling, or max wins from their games. I also think I have this virus, and the step I prioritize today is to keep myself busy, as several people have said. gave advice, and indeed it was quite helpful, such as reading books, sports and so on, so that my thinking became wiser day by day in thinking about gambling.
Most gambling addicts experience this problem and I have friends who are addicted to gambling which was initially quite difficult to advise and even he did not listen to parents. I once asked him why it was so difficult to stop playing gambling "he answered because it always hallucinating gets big wins". Thus encouraging the desire to continue to play and increasingly difficult to get out of the addiction. Luckily after being taken to a rehabilitation place at this time he has been separated from addiction, busy with positive activities and sports is also one of the ways that can be done because in rehabilitation they also practice it besides touching psychology.

I don't have anyone who knows my current situation, so they look at me as normal, because my addiction is not that prominent, so they don't know about it, and you have to know, this is really my desire without any other encouragement from people around me to help get rid of the addiction, it's difficult, but I'm sure I can control it in a few weeks after getting used to productive activities
Maybe the level of addiction that you are experiencing is not too severe, so by busy with yourself in more positive activities can provide cure slowly. But I doubt people who are already addicted to being severe in gambling to heal themselves without being helped by others and are lucky if at this time you can control yourself so that you can be responsible every time you want to gamble.
533  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Season on: September 14, 2023, 03:23:22 PM
Yes, that was last season, but the beginning of this championship showed that not everything was all right with them. Perhaps these opening defeats will be a cold shower for Newcastle and they will be able to improve their performance further, because at the moment they do not look as good as they did before. Their group is also very difficult, RSG, Dortmund and Milan, each of these teams can qualify for the playoffs, let's see if Newcastle can be a worthy competitor for them.
It seems difficult for Newcastle to qualify for the next round because they are in the same team as a club that is much more experienced in this competition. Newcastle does not have the experience of its three competitors and Newcastle's performance is also not as good as last season, so there is little doubt that Newcastle will be able to qualify for the next round. Even so we should give appreciation to the representatives of the English league because they fought hard to be able to play in the Champions League this season.

It's true that joining Group E with Feyenoord, Lazio and Celtic makes ATM a little lucky, at least they can easily qualify from the group phase. If you look at the composition of group E, ATM has a real chance of finishing as group winner. Diego Simeone squad so far has also played well in La Liga, and of course this is a valuable asset when playing in the group phase.
Apart from Atletico Madrid, I also believe that Lazio will be their competitors to qualify for the next round because when compared to Feyenoord and Celtic they are much superior. This will be a good opportunity for Lazio because they are in a group with teams that are not too strong, so there is hope for them to qualify for the next round. If they waste the then it may be difficult for them to get the opportunity in the following season.
534  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: El Salvador has become the first country to make #Bitcoin legal tender! 🇸🇻 on: September 13, 2023, 03:12:13 PM
Today I decided to go back to my old school to teach the children just a little bit of everything I've learned from my @cuboplus teachers 📚📚 #BITCOIN    #elsalvador #BTC    #cuboplus 🧵
That's a good step that you can take to educate many young people about the opportunities in bitcoin because one day people will increasingly realize that bitcoin is the best asset. I also have a non-formal school which is currently still managed together with the Lhok Kaju English Center (LEC) community. Although I have not specifically included learning about bitcoin for them because the age of the students we have makes us reluctant to do so now.

I just saw on social media today that El Salvador kids are being taught Bitcoin. Because a different thing about Bitcoin for children from a young age started in elementary education in El Salvador. This education from an early age will bring the best success for the child later in life as the child grows up. And I support this Bitcoin education, and teaching Bitcoin to more kids to be successful.
One day I would like to do something like this for our students and there is a big ideal I want to show students regarding the adoption of Bitcoin as a way to find financial freedom. Unfortunately, currently we cannot make this happen and the bitcoin education given from an early age is very good for students, but it is only an introduction not direct involvement in investing. I see that what El Salvador is doing can actually increase the interest of the younger generation in investing when they have entered adulthood and can be responsible for the decisions they make.

This is what makes me want to teach bitcoin education to the younger generation who join LEC, but unfortunately we can't do this yet because there will be many challenges if forced. If one day bitcoin reaches widespread adoption in my area then we have high hopes that we can make it happen.
535  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling by financial dependents. on: September 13, 2023, 02:22:10 PM
A family member reported to me that her eighteen years old son has started gambling. She is not worried that he is gaming but her problem is that he is a student that solely depends on her for everything he needs. Her fear is also that her son might start stealing from her if he has no access to the money he needs to gamble. My relative has even started suspecting that some money she feels was misplaced might have been stolen by her son.
It represents some thoughts that gambling addiction is not a good thing if done excessively and it will be quite difficult to control them once involved in it so much. At first they are not worried about their family's involvement in gambling, but it will be quite different if other problems start to occur such as losing money or items at home and that is why addicted gamblers will be quite difficult to control, including their own family

I spoke to my nephew and he told me that he has never stolen from his mother to gamble. And he gambles with only his savings from his weekly stipend he receives from the family. And he won't gamble if he has no savings to do that. From my observation, he is a responsible gambler that is just enjoying the game and making a little money occasionally. The gambling age in my country is 18+, but his mother is insisting that he must stop. What will be your advice for this young boy?
Only you and family know what really happened and from your observations, has your nephew told you the truth that he did not steal his mother's money? If so, maybe the gambling case involving your nephew is not an addiction, but rather he spends his budget responsibly every time he wants to gamble, so this case might be solved if you know who stole his mother's money.
536  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How will you feel if it happens to you just like this? on: September 13, 2023, 12:06:25 PM
People like those (me) who don't gamble for fun have this question to answer: how will you feel when you don't have money to stake a game that you predicted and better winning games you predicted played the way you predicted it and when you checked the winning was something that could have changed your life for ever if you didn't gambled again after such winning?
Why are you so sure that by betting on something you will get certainty and guarantee victory. Also, why are you so sure that after winning you no longer want to gamble? Generally, because of the uncertain nature of gambling, thus encouraging us to become increasingly curious and ultimately fall into a position of irresponsible addiction.

This question can be very tough to answer, but believe me, many people won't stop thinking of that if it happened to them, so I want to know your opinion about how you would feel if it happened to you.
What kind of feelings should we show, disappointed, angry or very sorry? Of course people will think about it, but I think something that is not ours doesn't need to be mourned for too long because it can make us dizzy and lose our enthusiasm to continue other activities and let's just say it's not our luck. Problem solved!!!

If it happens to me, I can't stop thinking of it, but definitely one day I will stop thinking about it and see it as history or not yet, my time for big wins just like how it happened to me when I lost a bet that would have given me long-term smiles.
LOL. In the end, you have answered yourself in the last paragraph what we should do if this happens to us. Most people will eventually forget that, no?
537  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Learning from those who have experience on: September 13, 2023, 11:08:27 AM
I want to ask those of you who have a hard addiction experience in gambling and then you can treat it yourself, and today still playing gambling but with the principle of good management and financial management in gambling.
I want to know how you break away from the addiction, you can mention the actions taken or what kind of steps? And how long do you need time to break away from the addiction that has been experienced?
Special treatment is needed regarding addicted gamblers because it will be much more difficult to cure them if they are not treated properly. Addicted gamblers usually have a tendency to hallucinate their winnings and for this reason they have difficulty stopping, so creating another activity is one thing that can make them stop gambling. I am not an addicted gambler, but what I feel is that gambling can be avoided when we have other activities and have much more productive activities.

For gamblers who are addicted, it may be quite difficult to manage financial management in gambling because usually they will continue to gamble. Except for ordinary gamblers like us who have the ability to manage the finances we spend when gambling because maybe we set a monthly or weekly budget for gambling.

"I want to find out because I think your experience in the case as I mentioned will be useful for readers, especially for me personally"
Stopping gambling will be very difficult if it is not taken seriously by experienced people and if the encouragement from those closest to you is not strong enough it will make it difficult for them to stop, especially if there is no desire from that person to stop gambling
538  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Season on: September 13, 2023, 10:36:23 AM
PSV are in Group B and we can all see the form of performance shown by each of them in their domestic league at the start of this season. Of the four teams there, I think there are only two teams that are really strong at the moment, namely Arsenal and PSV because the other two teams are still quite bad in their respective domestic leagues so there is a possibility for PSV to qualify for the next round in Champions League although maybe PSV will not be ranked first in group B.
Group B has a much more balanced representation of team strength and in my opinion it will be difficult for this group to see who advances to the next round because almost all four representatives have almost the same quality. Arsenal has a slight advantage after seeing their performance in the Premier League and in my opinion, of the four teams Arsenal has a much greater chance of qualifying for the next round. The rest depends on how PSV, Sevilla and Lens perform because if you look at the performance in their respective leagues it will be quite difficult to determine who will qualify.

The Champions League results cannot only be seen in the domestic league because there are big differences when they play and here also determines mentality and experience. My prediction is that PSV or Sevilla will most likely qualify with Arsenal, Sevilla has a good mentality when playing at qualifying level and is very different when playing in the domestic league like when they won the European league last season but that's just my prediction.
539  Economy / Economics / Re: Building wealth it's not just one time Luck on: September 10, 2023, 10:08:42 AM
I see people often discuss formulas, plans, and experiences to get rich, but one thing is that so far no one has really become rich and they are still discussing it every day.

In my opinion, each person will have different ways to get rich and no one will be the same, there is no common formula at all. Therefore, we should focus on our goals and find ways to overcome all difficulties in our own way. Don't try to share how to get rich or teach someone to get rich while we ourselves are still poor.
That will be an interesting discussion that we will continue to discuss everywhere and its realization depends on how society wants to implement and develop it. Talking about formulas, plans and experiences to become richer is an effort that we often see in people's lives, without exception when we sit and exchange opinions with people in everyday life. Don't be too rigid in living your life and there are times when we will get the initiative and plan to develop ourselves after discussing it at length with other people because maybe we will get enlightenment and a more effective way to start. We need other people as supporters and for me that's not a problem because the more often we discuss it with anyone, the more ideas will be born.

To develop this potential, it is up to us where to start and this is where we need skill and consistency to achieve it because if we don't prepare carefully in educating ourselves to reach the stage of wealth then no bet will be won. The problem is when we talk a lot but never do anything and that will show a person's true character, therefore we also need to educate ourselves first before having the desire to work on the stages of achieving a much better life.
540  Economy / Economics / Re: Are you risking investment in other things? on: September 10, 2023, 09:34:59 AM
You're right, most of my altcoins except ethereum are in very bad situations right now. I was just trying to catch the lowest prices on some of the altcoins but it might cost me more in order to average down. Although I am confident that they will be in profit by next year or after the halving year, it would've been better if I stuck to just bitcoin and ethereum and then only switched some into risky altcoins once the bull run starts. Nonetheless, bitcoin at the moment is 68% of my portfolio, ethereum at 15%, and the other risky altcoins at around 17%.

I was tempted to sell the house because I believe it is easy money. Like if I sell it now and buy bitcoin at $25k, I am confident my capital will be doubled by next year or by 2024. Although it is going to be too risky.
About altcoins and how people exploit them to make profits in the short term and of course there are positive and negative values that will arise. The drawback may be at a much riskier stage of the bet as it requires further analysis when the increase process will create a spike in the purchase price. If someone cannot see the potential and is unable to analyze the coin's journey, it will actually give rise to panic which will have fatal consequences. This difficulty is what makes people ditch altcoins in favor of the much more fundamental bitcoin because even though there are risks, bitcoin is much more fundamental and has a repeating cycle that goes beyond price highs.
