China people now can buy xel  in new china exchange market.
Today open the trade.   Smiley

https://eichain.com
This news is incredible, it really shows that Elastic is on the right track! In addition, the Chinese are the strength of the market, it's definitely great news.
What justifies this current high is this news?

I would be cautious with this. Exchange created february this year. I can't see any markets (without sign up and I don't want to sign up just for that). On front page there is some chart for Elastic without X/Y axis info. Maybe someone have a time to check those new exchanges. If so, please share with us any findings.

Be careful with any not widely known exchange.

İt is going to be impossible to see these prices in few weeks. Good time to accumulate this coin. This project is great and has big potential for the future.

I agree. The fear of a possible chainsplit is real and effecting all alts. Expecting a good rise beginning in august

I seriously didn't expect it to go down to 5k sats.
That is like a big joke...

People are afraid that BTC will drop more. They want to exit crypto so they sell XEL for BTC and then BTC for fiat. With hope that they will buy back in few months much lower (or never). At least that's how I explain it myself. Bad launch timing for donators, good launch timing for anyone who wanted to join XEL cheap.

If you don't have to exit crypto for fiat; If you know how and can control your nerves - just stay calm and wait. This drop is all around crypto, not only XEL. XEL didn't had enough time for better distribution. There are still many original holders in XEL that's why when 500k holder feel panic he doing tx to bittrex and just sell at one shot, creating big red candle and being glad that he's still at some profit.

Hard times for all crypto.

Also releasing computable part today (assuming that we will have it ready) will not help at all if we're referring to price. People still just want to jump to fiat.

What's best for XEL right now? Just wait, develop (get back on testnet as soon as we can), test and observe crypto world. Best timing for release computable XEL will be at the moment when people will be enthusiastic again looking at crypto.

Hi!

Help please. Where can I store my XLE? I dont like Elastic Lite Wallet.

What's wrong with litewallet?

If you don't want to use any online wallet just install Elastic on your PC.

This thread isn't really closed, but they'd like to hide it since the OP (Lannister) disappeared with the XEL donation money. They'd prefer if you post in their self-moderated thread so they can delete any posts that remind people of their scam:

This thread isn't closed and most probably will never be closed. We created new thread because we want to be able to edit OP.

We prefer self-moderated thread just to protect thread from people your kind: new account, scam accusations, etc.

You can be troll here to the end of your life (or BCT life) if you wish.

What wrong with this thread? I just got here because of someone accusing  that this ICO is gonna be a scam? Is it True?

1. There wasn't ICO.
2. Most of XEL are already redeemed: http://elasticexplorer.org/about/
3. Computable part of Elastic is already there and it's working.

So what's your definition of "scam"?

Damn, I just need to stay away from trolls. Just feed yourself and be happy. I'll not post in this thread anymore, it's pointless.

I hope BCT mods will see that this thread is just a mess without people involved in project and close it.

If you want to know something about Elastic project just do your own research.

Hey, is there any time limits when is the last time to redeem or claim my XEL?  Thanks!

No time limit at the moment.

Before we will remove redeem option we will notice everyone at least one year ahead.

I wonder how many people have lost their private keys...

You can track this everyday visiting: http://elasticexplorer.org/about/

Original supply - Actual supply = Not redeemed supply.

Or better, here you have genesis redeem address: http://elasticexplorer.org/address/XEL-H22F-GBXY-4BXS-6S4VQ/

This user is probably running testnet client.

He wasn't. More details in that thread.

To clarify - it is not safe to forge with the online wallet, correct?

Correct

why it's not safe?

Because any remote wallet is hosted by "someone" and you should not trust it.

1. http://wallet.elasticexplorer.org/ is hosted by me. I secured this node as much as I could, but I can't promise you that this node is 100% secure.
2. https://wallet.elastic.pw/index.html is hosted by @byrallier. I don't know anything about this node.

I can safely assume that if you're using Windows and you know that there is no exploits/viruses/trojans/malware on your machine it's always better to use our Windows binaries (https://talk.elasticexplorer.org/t/windows-wallet-release-3-1-0/546) than some online wallet.

If you somehow want to speed up Bittrex listing just join thier slack channel and ask when XEL will be listed:

Get invite: http://slack.bittrex.com/
Talk: https://bittrex.slack.com

They already know how to list XEL. I explained them "litewallet" problem and pointed them to our source code.

Question about the Windows Lite Wallet:  The 12 words you get upon launching the wallet the first time, can those be used to recover the account in case of a crash on another computer?

Thanks.

Yes. Remember people! XEL using brainwallet. If you setup node on Linux/Mac/Windows or if you launch Desktop app on Linus/Mac/Windows and you provide passphrase "test" you'll get access to the same wallet. So if you used passphrase "test" and someone else on the world used same passphrase you both get access to the same account (so your funds may be stolen!). That's why you must choose a GOOD passphrase. If you don't have idea how to create a good one use "Create account" option. It will generate for you 12 english words AND THIS IS YOUR SECRET PASSPHRASE to access your account from any node/desktop client on the world! So keep it in some safe place and don't lose it.

Example:

User A from USA used weak, unsecure passphrase: "test". Account for this passhprase has address: XEL-E8JD-FHKJ-CQ9H-5KGMQ (you can check this in your node/desktop client and here https://wallet.elasticexplorer.org, just type same passphrase in both those places and you'll see you have access to this address)

User B from China is a hacker, he scans (with bot most likely) weak accounts all the time to find out if some other users used weak passphrase. He finds out that User A just transfered XEL to account with "test" passphrase so he take those funds to address he controls.

In XEL, your private key is generated from your passphrase. If you use weak passphrase you will most likely lose your XEL.

If you need some Bitcoin world simple analogy take a look at Electrum. Your wallet is generated using 12 words. You can then recover your BTC wallet if you have those 12 words.

Number of peers in the network seems to be growing nicely every day.

Very good.

Do not refer to no. of peers displayed in explorer. Those peers are the one connected to the explorer node. If I'll reboot explorer node no. of peers will dive.
18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [XEL] :: Elastic - The Decentralized Supercomputer :: on: June 21, 2017, 07:20:20 PM
Please don't tweet (or retweet) things that was not verified by me.

If you are in contact with any exchange and they want to talk with you with any tech details just pass them to me. Don't say misleading or wrong things especialy if you are not tech or you don't know Elastic enough.

If you're "hot" you're not thinking straight. It harms Elastic.
19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [XEL] :: Elastic - The Decentralized Supercomputer :: on: June 21, 2017, 06:51:22 PM
Be careful with young, not checked exchanges! Seems like some HEAT exchange want to list XEL. Just be careful. Do not lose your XEL/BTC. I'm not saying that HEAT asset exchange is bad or scam. I just don't know this exchange and I would rather be sceptic about it.

Guys, what is this "HEAT Asset Exchange"? Someone know that exchange? Do not get scammed there! Be careful!
