Tape up the paperclip with electrical tape, and obviously don't do it when its plugged in.

Watts = watts regardless the source voltage, sure it takes less amps but you don't pay per amp do you? kWh is the standard and for reference, 20A x 120V = 10A x 240V and both will use 2400W. Granted the efficiency of the power supply might slightly better (I have yet to find any that would offer any significant difference). If by some chance you decide you want to run 240V make sure to hire an Electrician to do so (Then you have to figure his cost into the few percent difference you may have).

The power supply is capable of putting out 70A on the +12V which is the rail you will be using. Figure on the high side the antminer will take  46A, figure likely 250W for the Cube, or roughly 21A that sets you at 67A which is 95.7% of capacity on that rail. You could, but it doesn't leave much room for any fluctuation on that rail and personally I would not chance it.

1) Apply (and get accepted) to university for Electrical Engineering.
2) Work your f*ing ass off for 3-5 years.
3) Design PCB.
4) ? ? ? ?
5) Profit.

3-5 If you have all your calculus and Physics done prior to thinking about doing this. If not add 2+ years.

27  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Dogie's Comprehensive ASICMiner Cube Setup on: January 22, 2014, 08:46:12 PM
I have had that same thing happen to one of mine, not sure if its bad luck or faulty devices. The soldering on one of the boards contained in the cube that now has low hash rate and ~50% eff could be described as decent at best.
28  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Dogie's Comprehensive ASICMiner Cube Setup on: January 14, 2014, 09:47:02 PM
Does anyone happen to know what would cause a cube to have really low efficiency all the sudden? I have two cubes, one on high with a 98% Eff, one will only run on low and that has a 50% Eff. The cube that will only run on low used to be around the 97% range, just now it is running very low and slow as well, ~ 26 GH/s. For a proxy i am using an RPi with minepeon, the power supply is a Corsair AX850.

The article was well written, I'm an Electrical Engineering student so I will likely be doing this to one of my cubes here shortly.

Are there any pools that dont just use vardiff? My cubes go sick with my proxy once the diff gets set to 256
34  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [OPEN] Group Buy #26 AsicMiner Cube Miners and USB Hubs on: December 20, 2013, 08:01:53 PM
Ok thank you, I was on a vardiff server that set me to 256 with 2 cubes. Proxy kept thinking the cubes were sick.
35  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [OPEN] Group Buy #26 AsicMiner Cube Miners and USB Hubs on: December 20, 2013, 06:41:53 PM
Does anyone happen to know what diff shares these work best with? For instance at BTCGuild i'm doing 32 right now.
36  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [OPEN] Group Buy #26 AsicMiner Cube Miners and USB Hubs on: December 19, 2013, 11:52:38 PM
Got both of my cubes today, pulled them apart, all heatsinks were loose as well as the boards not in the proper grooves. One is running great, the other has 2 blades which are half filled with x's.
37  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [OPEN] Group Buy #25 AsicMiner Cube Miners and USB Hubs on: December 17, 2013, 08:16:21 PM
Payment Sent for 2 cubes and shipping, PM was sent also.

If you are using minepeon you can just have your startup settings as follows.

#!/bin/bash
/usr/bin/screen -dmS miner /opt/minepeon/bin/bfgminer --http-port 8330 -S all -c /opt/minepeon/etc/miner.conf

Then point your blade / cube to the RPi's ip and that port. Thats how I have my stuff setup at this time.
