581  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is the definition of a Gambler? Do you consider yourself as a Gambler? on: January 28, 2024, 03:05:01 PM

I played some hands it's true and I tested many games for test purposes But I was never affected by the gamble. and I consider I am not a gambler myself. Somehow I do not feel good or something does not fit with me by this word.

Unfortunately the first time player, second time or old time player are all regarded as gambler so long you are see in the domain of gambling or in the act of gambling. This is especially for offline gambling because there is no hiding place for those who go into the gambling houses, even if you sneak in you never knew who saw you or you might be coming out and suddenly meet someone that you have been hiding your gambling habit from. It is just a name called to those who are seen gambling. So whoever that doesn't want to be called a gambler should stay away from gambling environment.
582  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: When I'm emotional, I LOSS! on: January 28, 2024, 02:00:42 PM
However, when I'm losing, that's where my struggle lies.

This is the spirit of not believing in losing because when you lose, you will be angry and keep playing to recover what you have lost but if you don't have that kind of mentality then if you lose you will not struggle but accept defeat.

Another thing about that is if you are losing, you are mostly likely to lose your concentration on your strategy because you will be doubting your strategy and keep changing strategy. Losing and chasing it back distort your plans so that is the reason for struggling but to have that spirit of understanding that you win and you lose is going to take you away from such predicament.
583  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is addiction bad only when it is a problem? on: January 27, 2024, 10:25:30 PM
Addiction to gambling is not a problem for some gamblers because there are some gamblers who are addicted to gambling, but it doesn't affect the other activities of their life. They take care of their families, wear good clothes, smell nice, meet up with appointments but still cannot control the urge to gamble. It doesn't affect their life because they can afford to gamble and manage the loses they make. So, to these people addiction is not a problem. They are addicts, but because they are successful, their addiction is ignored or excused as it is not a problem.
So I am need to know, is addiction only bad when it is a problem?

Addiction is always frown at when it is affecting other aspects of your life and so with that people will always ring the bell that you are addicted to that thing and that is why other things in the person's life is suffering. For example if you are a contractor and you need to make a quotation for a job but instead of doing that you are busy gambling and at the end of the day you lose the contract either because you submitted it late or you didn't at all and someone's quotation was considered .

Yes generally success has plenty followership than failure, so those people who are addicted but always win huge will be considered as a gambler who knows what they are doing and balance themselves against the gamblers who are losers . If you are losing, then you can be regarded as addict since you can't cover other activities.
584  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2 years old kids alone at home for hours, while the father goes gambling on: January 27, 2024, 09:41:03 PM
This is a typical example of gambling for the money sake and not for fun because what kind of fun will be greater than the fun of having kids that you now leave them to their own fate for 5 hours. He is surely looking at the money for expenses in the home. That is the consequences of gambling for source of income, when you rely on gambling to sustain your family then you are most likely going to be behaving like that not to take proper control of your self but to be irresponsible in the family because this is actually an act of father being out of control of his mind.
585  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: The importance of mental health on: January 27, 2024, 05:27:39 PM
I discover being happy itself na a good recipe for mental health. So make we take away anything wey go dey make us sad or to dey frown face even frowning of face self dey bring wrinkles and make person dey old for face  Grin

So to dey happy na very good way to chase bad health because if you dey think too much na your heart the thing go soon hit giving the person HBP.  Solution na to dey do wetin dey make someone happy, go for check, avoid self medication and eat healthy.
The problem people do have with mental health is that some people don't even knows what makes them to be happy,  and what they can do to be happy.  They just allow difficult situations,  painful things to rule over them. It is very important for everyone to check their mental health if it is really good for them.so many lost their life because they lack understanding to help themselves to be free from mental stress.  It is important for one to try to do things that will help  to be free from mental stress.

Well me I feel say if person no be phycho, the person go know wetin dey make dem happy. People surely know about what makes dem happy but na the hard times in this country make crayfish bend, na dat one dey make am be like say grown up man dey do like say dem no sabi wetin dem dey do, so no think am.
586  Economy / Gambling / Re: My betting strategies on: January 27, 2024, 01:28:20 PM
The three factors that you have listed are important to analysis of a football match no doubt but they are not exclusive to all that pertains to the betting of a football game. Like have you considered a team marked for relegation and their new sign ups including if they are deciding to bring in new coach that is coming from a very good record to come and replace the bad performing coach?

Also, bettors do consider apart from head to head, the injuries of the team which determines their current status of what will happen to the head to head overview most times. This doesn't take away the phycology of the team to the current owner, coach and where there allegiance goes to. However, you have listed those points but there are more that can help in analysing the outcome of football matches.
587  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Things you see in the society on: January 26, 2024, 10:14:59 PM

We have different religions. Christianity, Islamic, and traditional out of these three religions it's your choice to choose the one you want

.
All these religions you mentioned here have influencing power over the individual and that is why Karl Marx called religion as the opium of the masses meaning whatever comes out from the religion is accepted by followers. No doubt Karl Marx was right in this study coming out with this. You can't discuss one religion against the other without backlash from their followers and that is the problem whether they are wrong or right is inconsequential until a day that someone will be convinced against the other.
588  Economy / Economics / Re: Save while young better than wait on: January 26, 2024, 07:16:00 PM
100 is worth 100 today, but 800 in 20 years if you play it safe but well. Make no mistake, you will need to start creating your wealth.

I like this piece of information and advise too. Is just as you are saying save a dollar today or your local currency today that is daily and in 20 years time you will be surprised how much you got. For example, a dollar every day in January is $31 and in a year you should be having about $365 which is a good range of money that would have been wasted in frivolous articles that are not needed.. Daily savings makes easy for accumulation of money and that will help to cut down on expenses. Old age is enjoyable if you have set good plans for it like we already see older rich people and older poor people.
589  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: They know the truth but they don't want to accept it, publicly on: January 26, 2024, 06:29:54 PM

Everyone starts gambling in the first place for entertainment but gradually when the amount of gambling becomes more then the person becomes addicted to gambling without his knowledge. Then he wants to win every time in gambling but in gambling no one can guarantee that he will get from gambling.  You can make profit. Some time you will gain while gambling and some time you will face loss. Now if we can't accept loss it can cause big problem for us.

Trying to win all the time shows that the gambler will be losing most times because a loss will lead to chasing to recover and as you do that emotions starts coming in to get you further confused. If you get in the game of gambling and you are losing, the best thing to do is to stop and not to continue till when you have been emotionally stable. So playing with the believe that there is a guarantee that you won't lose is a fallacy, have an open mind to what you bet either you win or you lose and that is why you have to bet responsibly.
590  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Older men vs Younger boys in gambling, Which enjoys Gambling for fun the more? on: January 26, 2024, 03:47:31 PM
46-59 I guess gamble for fun.  Cheesy

Funny, probably the missing link  Grin I see Op didn't cover this age bracket and who knows where they fall in the age scheme, like middle older young age or middle old age  Grin

Anyway, for the reasons I think in my head, the old will gamble more for fun than the young. This is with the age classification mentioned for the aged, they are probably having lesser financial challenges to take up and so they are at the stage of live where they are relaxed, do lesser physical jobs, probably advised by their physicians to always do exercise and fix themselves with whatever that will make them happy and reduce pressure on their heart.

The older people probably have more stable income than the young so even when they lose, they may not feel the financial pressure. They are either retirees who receive pension. In fact, it goes down to being more financial stability in investments and source of income.
591  Other / Politics & Society / Re: If you are paid while working for the Church , You will be Poor on: January 26, 2024, 02:01:28 PM

Working for the church is not something to be considered if you think you can not gain any profit from it serving in the church should come as a will and not because you think you can make money from it anyway there are donations that come in to church but are still used for the development of the church and not of the pastor

Working for church and being a church worker is different. If someone has no other job and is going to labour daily in the church and working month to month, how do we expect the person to survive without being paid to take care of the family? Just like the pastor that benefits from the church including being paid salary as some churches do to full time pastors. After all some churches employee people that are not their members to do certain jobs for them like gate men and other services that they can't get members to do, don't they pay those people?

All the investment that churches have, like those that have schools, malls etc don't they pay works? Or is it only pastor that will be eating all church donations  Roll Eyes Grin
592  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you think gamblers do retired betting gambles on: January 26, 2024, 12:57:58 PM
Those who are of age like that kind of age that Op is referring and they are still not religious, they don't have a business retiring, they keep gambling as far as their health can carry them. Gambling doesn't really have retirement age just like you are doing your personal business or investment you keep going as far as the business remains active. Those who gamble don't look at the time of retirement, it is not a government job that you are restricted to work above certain age.

But some people change as they old and they begin to become religious so if they decide to leave the stage of gambling, that will not be regarded as retirement but a decision to stop gambling.
593  Economy / Economics / Re: The productive capacities of an individual to the society. on: January 25, 2024, 08:39:24 PM
I will think you are talking about self reliance and having a personal mindset. Yes I totally agree that being independent and believing in your ability can lead someone into greatness but to have a personal mindset might not be all for me because we also need to hear and listen to someone else on what they have to say or contribute to what we are set to do even if we still want to go ahead with what we believe to do. Like they say, there is sense in every nonsense and perhaps listening to such nonsense might help make better and informed decision.

594  Economy / Economics / Re: get ready guys for this soon on: January 25, 2024, 07:33:16 PM

Next currenies wich will be gone for ever:

AUD,CAD,RUSSIAN RUBLES,UKRAINE CURRENY , NORWAY ,SWEDEN,

There will be few players left only CHINA AND EUR AND USD.

How did you arrive at this kind of hypothesis? How are you sure that Russian Ruble will be gone forever when they are still maintaining their exporting strength in different goods including wheat. They can just restrict the use of other currencies in dealing with their export goods. A countries currency may easily go into extinction if they are not producing or manufacturing countries but if they are, it won't be easy to push them by the side, they can activate their currency allegiance while buying or exchanging for their export products.
595  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can a social or casual good guesser make better gambling prediction carrier? on: January 25, 2024, 02:18:14 PM

I am concerned to ask, can such a person build a gambling carrier with such an excellent guessing prohibition? Or he should trash it all and believe that gambling predictions remains a game of luck?

Career  you say? How. How is that possible?

It is just like saying you do guessing for a career. Some people can't say they gamble as a career then to condemn yourself to a guessing as a career is more ludicrous. Gambling is luck based and to guess at games with analysis is such a funny thing.

Yes some people are good in guessing, like to guess answers in exams but you would have had an idea to use the elimination method but to only guess in gambling to win games is not sustainable.
596  Other / Politics & Society / Re: The danger of gender inequality on: January 25, 2024, 01:41:34 PM
There is no such thing as a danger of gender discrimination it will always depend on the people of the society and an individual's perspective. Irrespective of gender caste religion shape and position the first identity of human being is human. Women will get the same rights and benefits as men deserve. Men are as human as women. Every person shall have the opportunity to freely exercise his rights. Those who could not be civilized by leaving bad mentality fail to value women as human beings.

The value of women is now increasing and this is not without the feminist movement or agenda that was pioneered by the first sets of female who were educated and felt that they were marginalized and cheated of different rights including that of association. In the past the female sex were denied of different rights, they were more of the reserved specie that it was almost like a taboo that their voice would be heard but not anymore. So many phenomenon has changed to the favour of women, from job engagement and appointment to even their status at home against their earlier known duties as house wife. So it is no surprise with the way changes have occurred in the global status of women because of education which created that awareness and solidarity within themselves to pursue a common course.

598  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How do i handle my first gambling experience on: January 25, 2024, 10:04:05 AM
Yup, It's very advisable to spend at least minimum amount only on your first try game because there's a huge possibility that you will get the winning amount, not all the time but still always spend small amount and try to allocate that amount for the rest of your gambling session. You just have to limit yourself and your finances so that you will never experience any losses and huge debt in the future.
I have never been able to limit my gambling finances before. I lost all the money I had with me and even more. I couldn’t stop and that’s all. Sometimes I even had to borrow money, which then negatively affected my reputation, since I could not repay the money on time. How many nerves did I spend trying to get out of this quagmire? Now I look back with horror at all those moments that happened to me. You wouldn't wish this on anyone. It’s good that the realization came to me to stop and reconsider what I was doing.

Greed to win back loses is the reason for bigger loses because you have lost control of yourself. Whether a small staker or a big staker, once you do not have self control to stop yourself when you are suppose to then you are likely to be doing the wrong strategy. Gamble as you can lose and don't ignore the signs to leave when you should, that is very important and first step to follow if you want to be a reasonable gambler. If you go borrowing, you can't repay from winnings in gambling because you were a loser before going to borrow, the chances to win is limited and so don't give yourself hope that the next try will be a win as many gamblers encourage themselves to keep trying.
599  Economy / Economics / Re: How is it possible to say there is no money in the bank on: January 25, 2024, 09:06:22 AM
I don't think I've experience such with my bank and most often I make use of the fintech mobile banking app so there's no need waiting for a cash, have experience this when my country changed old naira notes and it was dramatic during the cashless policy, no one should actually go through this mess of cashless policy.

This is not really about using fintech or mobile apps because there are times that you need cash to pay for stuffs that are very small price and you need cash for it. Moreover, if you live in a less developed country where the mobile app is not well in use,it is really difficult to transact online because most people reject transfer so your solution is to look for who would accept transfer for what you want to buy. At such times most people want to exchange with cash for the goods you are buying because they are also in need of cash. Again, the older age make it more difficult by the restrictions to have placed in their mind to prefer the traditional use of cash to mobile apps.
600  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Nigeria unbans cryptocurrency on: January 25, 2024, 05:40:44 AM

It gives me joy to know that we can now transact in crypto without difficulty. Before now in Nigeria transaction in crypto has always been difficult and stressful especially using P2P.
This calls for a celebration for all crypto lovers in Nigeria.

It was never difficult buying or selling bitcoin through the P2P medium only if you keep to the rules provided by the exchange. Apart from exchange, there are other regulated platforms like telegram or WhatsApp that organized it in such away that they had escrow who received money as middle person for the transaction. So it wasn't really a difficult thing selling or buying bitcoin then and now nothing has changed if not that the government have realised they were only setting themselves and youths backwards for self-centredness and political gains.
