8281  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What are your plans with your Bitcoin? on: July 05, 2017, 08:08:34 AM
I am holding my bitcoin from last two years and will hold for more. I am thinking of starting an online website next year. I would be needing some initial investment and these bitcoins will certainly help me in that. I hope to make it big.  Wink

So you are already sitting on top of more than 1,000% profit (the exchange rates have increase by 10x during 2015-17)? And I would like to wish all the best for your new venture. Just keep the coins safe and prevent any attempts by the hackers to steal your coins.
8282  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Billions stolen from South Korean Bitcoin exchange on: July 05, 2017, 08:06:11 AM
Savings in exchange are very practical for trading but also very risky.

I don't understand why people keep their coins in exchanges. If it is for trading purposes, then they should immediately withdraw the coins once the trading session is finished. But many people keep their coins in exchanges for long duration, as evident from the Bithumb hack.
8283  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Do You Think The War in Philippines. on: July 05, 2017, 08:03:42 AM
I don't know why you are having so much doubt regarding it. The ISIS has already accepted the Maute group as one of their factions and they have even sent foreign fighters (Arabs, Chechens.etc) to fight with the Maute group.

Yup, there was a mix of Arabs, Yemen, Chechens, and Indonesians among the terrorists the army managed to kill. Indonesia last month reported they had intelligence sources saying that they have nationals moving into Philippines to fight with Muslim groups. The Philippine government denied that, of course. Just this week though, they admitted there are already around a hundred Indonesian fighters in the area.

Hundred foreign fighters? And this movement was not noticed by the authorities? The Philippines doesn't have a land border with Indonesia. So these fighters must have taken the sea route. But if that was the case, then the navy should have spotted them.
8284  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Hold or Sell on: July 05, 2017, 06:30:27 AM
When one is confident about the market there is no need of concerning about the market. It is purely upon the users personal interest. In fact right now holding is the best way rather than selling. The price is expected to increase to a higher extent and reach at least $4000 in a short time or before the year end.

As of now, I'd rate the situation as positive. SegWit2x is still hovering around 85% to 87% support and Bitmain has indicated that they may no longer mine BTC (they are planning to use their hash power to mine another altcoin). IMO, you can expect $4,000 per coin (or even higher) by the end of August.
8285  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is 1000 btc Possible on: July 05, 2017, 06:26:31 AM
If you invest smartly with good knowledge and capital then you can earn that amount in long run from trading but it will be very difficult journey to achieve that milestone as there will be always a risk of loosing money and not everyone can afford to take that high risk.

For trading, you need an initial investment. And the most successful traders usually make up to 50% returns from their investment. In order to increase your total holdings to BTC1,000, you need to do an initial investment of at least BTC700 (if you are lucky).
8286  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is it safe to sell bitcoin for paypal like this? on: July 05, 2017, 06:24:46 AM
My advice is to never trade your Bitcoins for Paypal. There are a lot of reputed users in Localbitcoins who offer Paypal payments for Bitcoin, but I would not trust any of them. What if someone hacks their account and apply for charge-back after the trade?
8287  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is Holding Bitcoin a long time good way to make money? on: July 05, 2017, 03:57:19 AM
Don't ask anyone. Just check the history. Apart from the dip during 2014-16, Bitcoin investments has given at least 1,000% ROI (if held for more than 3 years). I don't want to make predictions, but I am confident that if you have the confidence and patience, then Bitcoin investments will give you good returns in the future as well.
8288  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Does Bitcoin have a future? on: July 05, 2017, 03:54:20 AM
Why not? A currency which is being used by more than 10 million people definitely has a future. And most importantly, the number of users have been going up for the past many years. At least as far as I am concerned, the future looks bright for Bitcoin.
8289  Economy / Speculation / Re: Should long term holders sell before August 1st? on: July 05, 2017, 02:41:01 AM
If there is a sharp spike occurring before August 1 (i.e BTC over $5,000 per coin), then the users can consider converting a part of their BTC holdings to fiat. A correction is likely to follow, and they can buy back their coins at a lower rate.
8290  Economy / Speculation / Re: Where to invest my 20 BTC (lifesavings) on: July 05, 2017, 02:39:30 AM
Poloniex Lending gives you 3-5% per month. You are "only" risking your whole stash to an exchange.

Not worth the risk, in my opinion. What we have learnt in 2014 (after the crash of Mt Gox) is not to store or invest your hard earned coins in any of the exchanges. They can fail at any time. A 3% return is just not worth it.
8291  Economy / Speculation / Re: Total Marketcap All Coins Logarithmic Regression on: July 05, 2017, 02:38:02 AM
Worryingly, this reminds me of the dot com bubble of the late 1990s. If you check the market capitalization of some of the stocks (such as Cisco, Intel, Microsoft, and Dell) during that period, you can see a similar pattern.
8292  Economy / Speculation / Re: price after segwit? on: July 05, 2017, 02:36:09 AM
Hoping that the same effect will happen as we saw it gave LTC a very positive out come.

But who knows bitcoin is bitcoin and litecoin is litecoin they are still different but everyone is hoping to have good results.

But you should remember that Litecoin had a market cap of less than $1 billion at the time of SegWit implementation. On the other hand, the market cap of Bitcoin is around $40 billion now. Going from $40 billion to $60 billion is much harder than rising from $1 billion to $2 billion. But still, I expect the exchange rates to be in the $4,000 - $6,000 range by the end of August.
8293  Economy / Speculation / Re: $10,000 per bitcoin on: July 05, 2017, 02:34:02 AM
The price now sounds way more possible then 2 years ago. However I think we will to wait a couple of years. Minimum 3 years. Because with the halving in 2020 I think the price can get a really good boost and we may see it reach 10k.

It can happen in 2018 or it can happen in 2020. Anyway, I believe that the five digit mark is just a formality now. The user base is increasing despite of all the issues with confirmations and block size. And as the number of users rise, so does the exchange rates.
8294  Economy / Speculation / Re: Should long term holders sell before August 1st? on: July 04, 2017, 07:32:54 PM
IMO, the Bitcoin prices will crash only if both SegWit2x and BIP148 fails. And in my opinion, the chances of that happening is less than 1% right now (this can change in the coming days, though). So I don't think that the long-term holders need to sell their coins.
8295  Economy / Speculation / Re: price after segwit? on: July 04, 2017, 07:28:29 PM
I am 99% sure that the prices are going to increase. But there is always a chance of a split occurring and the market cap declining as a result of that. The increasing prices of LTC is an indication that the latter option is still a possibility.
8296  Other / Off-topic / Re: Would you give bitcoin as a wedding gift? on: July 04, 2017, 07:24:21 PM
It is not practical. In my hometown, very few people know about Bitcoin. So even if I give BTC as a gift, the couple is not likely to use it. Either they will give it to someone for free, or they will throw it away.
8297  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Latest North Korea Missile Launch Is Not Joke - It Can Reach USA And Japan on: July 04, 2017, 07:21:01 PM
I think its time the young dictator is overthrown and thrown in the darkest pit on the face of the earth, he has no problem with sacrificing his entire people because he doesn't even care about them.

And how you are going to achieve that? If you try to invade North Korea, then it is going to result in at least 50 million deaths. People will die not just in North and South Korea, but also in Japan and Hawaii.
8298  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin or gold? on: July 04, 2017, 05:40:26 PM
For me gold and bitcoin cannot be compared. They are designed for different purposes. Bitcoin is the currency which people use temporarily for investment. Gold is not very suitable for investment, but it is guaranteed protects your investment income.

Gold is also a very good investment. If you calculate the ROI, then you can see that the returns from gold has been much greater than that from bank deposits and treasury bonds during the last 2-3 decades.
8299  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin heading to $4,000 on: July 04, 2017, 05:39:02 PM
I think there will be long consolidation until we'll break $3k and jump to $3.5

There are speculations about Bitcoin getting legalized in South Korea. Also, SegWit2x seems almost certain as of now. Another good news is that Bitmain is exiting the Bitcoin sector and they are planning another altcoin. All these are positive news, which should propel Bitcoin to at least $4,000 per coin (a conservative estimate may be $5,000 per coin).
8300  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Russia is the most aggressive country on: July 04, 2017, 05:35:56 PM
Why Lithuania not give back to Poland city of Vilno?
What a greedy Lithuania.

Lithuania and Poland were among the countries which benefited the most from USSR winning the WW2. But even then they would like to complain about the Soviets and their behavior during the war.
