181  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 1600 series Nvidia GPUs are significantly better than everything else. on: March 21, 2019, 01:15:06 PM
Maths are hard for some people i guess

1660Ti = $299 MSRP

RTX 2080 = $799 MSRP

If you can find the 2080 on a 1 off low price, you will be able to do the same thing for the 1660 once its a month or two old. You are cherry picking your data to prove your point even though you are standing on very shaky ground. You even had to single out one particular algo and a random useless shitcoin to prove your point.

Lets look at something more popular...say ETH hash rates.

1660Ti = 29.5MH @ 90w (Source: https://www.reddit.com/r/gpumining/comments/avyaq1/gtx_1660_ti_mining_performance/ )
2080   = 42.3MH @ 168w (Source: https://www.reddit.com/r/gpumining/comments/9ixng5/rtx_2080_mining_hashrateperformance/ )

So on the most popular algo you can get a pair of 1660s doing 59mh @ 180w or a single 2080 doing 42.3mh @ 168w....

PHi2

1660Ti = 9.2mh @ 90w
2080   =  9.97mh @ 168w

The 1660 dominates here....

x16r

1660TI = 17.8mh @ 90w
2080    = 30mh @ 168w

Close enough to be nearly identical....

See when you cherry pick results its easy to make claims that your way is the best. The unfortunate side effect is someone might listen to your bs and make a poor decision after reading this because they dont know how to do proper research on their own.

fpgas just took over phi2 btw

im interested in only two of them.. but since he aint responding?  lets see what happens Huh

I grabbed all 4

I am in NJ where are you located? I may only need 2 or 3 of the 4.

I will let you know when I get them.

i can use one or two.
Let me know

Pmd you and shipped the PDUs to Phil -- shipping a PDU(s) is quite expensive!

Will update thread over the next couple days with some unlisted items, more pictures, and information.

I noticed that for the one 1070ti you say
Quote
only suited for mining
and I am wondering what exactly is meant by this. Can you explain that for me? Is that your opinion, or has something happened to the card that makes it unsuitable for other tasks?

I'm on the hunt for a Power Supply or two, maybe a couple SSDs and I would consider buying that EVGA 1070ti if you could drop the price Cheesy

One had some slight issues w/ display (artifacts) when I put it in the primary slot on my test rig, and the other I'm assuming does the same. They mine perfectly though and always have

I have 105GH on ETH, while Vosk was found to be wrong at the end He was technically right for about 2 days, until difficulty bomb was removed and the artificial difficulty reset.  I went from 10 eth to 8 ish for 2 days and that sucked and I did consider moving.  I figured before the fork i'd loose about 10% but when it hit and it was 20% I was like WTF.  Once it reset as we all know now basically had no effect for now so i'm happy.  It will eventually have an effect if it keeps climbing and more peeps join the hash.

So in summation chill. LOL

Vosk in most part is informative, and I watch some of his stuff.  For instance this FPGA I could give a crap about so i don't watch it! He is especially helpful to the peeps that don't research as much as they should.  You can't bat 1000 everyone screws up once in awhile.

CAN'T WE ALL JUST GET ALONG!   Tongue

Cheesy

dont take the internet too serious  Cool
189  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Are FPGA Miners Profitable? Hash Altcoin Blackminer F1+ FPGA Miner Review on: March 15, 2019, 03:32:25 AM
I hope this review is more accurate than the one you posted about how the Constantinople Hard Fork killed eth mining profit Smiley  Grin

+1

 Grin

You missed my point

My point was that the "pie" of eth mining profits has been reduced

Regardless if diff is down, and your piece of pie is the same size

The overall pie of ETH is reduced, simple as that.

Also if you say that's not true, then you are being misled by the diff bomb that should not have been going off within ETH in the first place.

Simple as that Shocked
190  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum Fork/Block Reward Reduction Kills GPU Mining Profitability on: March 15, 2019, 03:30:29 AM
Average Block Time decreased by 5 sec from 20 down to 15 sec. This is quite much and with low diffi, i get the same amount of eth like before the fork.

https://etherscan.io/chart/blocktime

25% block time reduction vs 33% reward reduction Huh

LOL and lower diffi -35% ?
Ok you ignore it XD

25% block reduction + 35% lower diffi versus 33% reward reduction, this is what you must compare.

you're missing my point

You are looking at simply earnings

I see a smaller pie, regardless if you are getting the same sized piece of pie.

192  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / This ASIC Miner is LITERALLY Overrated! Dayun Zig Z1+ Lyra2REv2 Miner Review on: March 15, 2019, 03:25:41 AM
The Dayun Zig Z1 and Z1+ cracked an asic-resistant mining algorithm that was previously dominated by GPU mining. Due to this there was a big response when the Dayun Zig Z1 + Z1+ were released, since then VertCoin has moved away however Monacoin and Verge still remain leaving some profitability to be had with the Dayun ASIC miners.

Today I review the Dayun Zig Z1+ and briefly cover the Bitmain Antminer B7. In this video Dayun Zig Z1+ mining profitability is discussed, miner setup and mining pool configurations, along with the stability, noise, and all other specs relating to this miner.

193  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Bitmain Antminer B7 (96x hashrate B3) - Mines ~$11 a day on Tensority/Bytom on: March 14, 2019, 06:46:31 PM
Bitmain previously (normally) would release their miners to rest of world / china via their website shop. Sometimes their China shop would get priority (Seems like that has happened again).

UPDATE, got the miner and created a video review on the Antminer B7 w/ real hashrate and profits
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ifHB0S3AnyU

However they have yet to add this miner to their english antminer shop, and resellers will apparently have them landing shortly. Huh

At current profit calculations the Bitmain Antminer B7 would yield ~$11 dollars a day after a 0.12 cent per kWh electric rate.

What are your thoughts on this / heard anything else?

Also fwiw whoever ends up buying these, I had good results w/ my B3 on uupool .. well until nvidia cards took over that algorithm lol Huh

You going to buy one(or many)?  Shocked

If you have been following cryptocurrency mining over any span of time you will quickly realize that mining is dominated by graphics cards, asic miners, and fpga miners. Graphics cards or GPUs are great at mining many different algorithms and can be found in most modern computers, ASIC miners are specialized hardware built to dominate mining one specific crypto coin, and FPGA miners are a highly specific and versatile advanced piece of hardware taht can be programmed to outperform graphics cards mining numerous mining algorithms with an appropriate bitstream. The drawback is being able to get a bitstream when it is still profitable, those making a ton of money do not like to share these, and FPGA hardware is historically much more expensive per card than a graphics card or even most ASIC miners for example.

The HashAltcoin Blackminer F1+ as well as other models hits an interesting part of the market, where it is an FPGA miner that looks like an ASIC miner and has a price point around a full GPU mining rig or medium priced ASIC miner. This FPGA miner is less expensive than many of the xilinx fpga miners / sqrl / bcu 1525 etc fpga miners.

If you want to setup your Blackminer FPGA miner to mine Denarius (solo mining) using the tribus mining algorithm (which you select from the drop-down menu on the miner) you will paste this into the miner.

Hey Guys Cheesy Looking to sell some gear, like everyone else that mines crypto you end up accumulating a ton of extra gear over-time.
I also downsized my mining farm, which created even more excess gear.
I will be updating this thread periodically as I sort through more of my hardware.
To be clear, I am not quitting mining! I am just clearing out miscellaneous/extra gear or items acquired for YouTube reviews!

I only accept USD and BTC Bitcoin. I have a perfect selling record here on Bitcointalk and you can also verify this is the Official VoskCoin account / me on any of my other platforms such as YouTube, Twitter, etc. If you are determined to use Escrow, we can use an established member on the forum such as Phil -- this would be at your expense.

I do not NEED to sell anything, I simply want to -- so do not waste our time lowballing. I will price every item fairly, and then you can submit your offer either on this thread or in a PM to me here.

Any items still listed in this first post are still for sale! I am located in Virginia, USA and am only shipping to USA and Canada -- sorry if you are not located in those two countries!

1x HashAltcoin Blackminer F1+ -- miner is 1 week old and has been mining in a filtered/closed garage, make me a reasonable offer and it is yours
(Brand new it is $3200 https://www.hashaltcoin.com/en/miners)

$300 each obo
2x PNY 1070 TI - graphics card is only suited for mining, was mined with for ~a year

$325
1x EVGA 1070 TI FTW2 mined w/ for ~a year, comes in original box.

Bitmain Antminer APW3++ I have a ton of these, I just want to sell this one Cheesy make a reasonable offer. It is pretty clean and was used less than a year.

Prices OBO / TBD
I have a ton of misc. hardware gear, when I get some time next week I'll go through and sort it all out listing exactly what I have and some relative prices -- however if you see something that interests you let me know and we can make a deal.
