Out of curiosity, why do you have your 3rd pool set to blake2b?
Both backup pools are incorrect I just havenít adjusted it. Been watching it so closely xD
943  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [NEW] Bitmain Announces Antminer A3 on: January 27, 2018, 03:31:48 AM
Same. Whattomine shows 150 SC/h. Siamining 115 SC/h.
It should be 130 SC/hr

By looking at top miners who have stable hashrate and dividing their SC/hr with their workers, it seems like everyone is at 115-120/hr ballpark. You are getting 130?

ATM I'm getting about 117 when I shot this video earlier tonight on reviewing the antminer a3 + profits and overclocking I was getting 130 xD

just got mine hooked up

PCB temps 57, 57, 61

Chip temps 77, 79, 84

running at 525 AVG 729 gh/s

your temps are almost the exact same as mine at 668 w/ 927 ghs avg

I know a lot of you guys are into the riserless mobo setups, mining cave is coming out with a new rig kit (gpu mining rig w/o gpus, along with premade rigs) with a nice box around this setup, I tore one down in todays video if you're interested -- looks like a colorful board? anyone know the model number?

Looks like you are overclocking at 900+gh??
caught me xD sitting at 925-930 gh/s pretty stable atm but I don't advocate OCing (disclaimer) 650 was a good starting point fwiw

Great job guys. Good video - thanks for sharing Dane.

Thanks was an honor Cheesy my audio was a total bust but gives me an excuse to bug crazydane for an updated one!

Thanks to everyone else also for the kind comments + the video was received incredibly well on youtube which was so cool to see!

Hi. this is a little off subject. But i was wondering what kind of internet service you have, since it seems that your living in a remote area? fiber optic cable, satellite, phone service?

On topic!

The rural county that I live in started offering fiber based internet service about 3 years ago to help develop and attract businesses.  I got together with my homeowners association (16 of us, each with decent sized lots ranging from 6 to 200 acres) and worked out a deal with the county to bring in fiber.  Cost of construction was about $50,000 which the county subsidized so the cost to the homeowners was only 50% of that, and they let us pay it back over 5 years at 0% interest.  All but one homeowner signed up, and we closed on the deal.

That was 2.5 years ago and we now all have nice fast fiber based internet service.  I actually have 2 ONT's (Optical Network Terminators, or fiber modems), at my local, each on different sub nets, for some redundancy.  I'm still working with the county to get them to offer symmetrical GigE service.  The equipment is capable of handling it, but they just don't offer residential rates at that speed.  So I currently have dual 50 mbps down / 10 mbps up for an aggregate of 100/20 service.

The rest of my network equipment is all Ubiquiti Unifi, which is the same company that sells the solar equipment that I use.  So I have a central dashboard from which I can manage router, switches, and access points.  Here's the main dashboard:

A view of the network devices on the network:

The AP down at my shop is currently disconnected as I ran out of ports on the switch, so the above view, as well as the main dashboard, provides an indicator that something is wrong.

Here's a topology view.  Sorry that is is all squished together horizontally.

Here's the actual core network equipment:

24 port path panel on top for hardwired ethernet jacks through the house.

48 port core 1Gbps switch with 500W PoE (powers ip phones, access points, security cameras, etc).

16 port 10Gbps switch for server connections and fiber down links to other switches.

Dual WAN/LAN router/gateway.

2x ONT modems to the service provider.
ah I see this and I'm just like. . yeah my setup is stone age compared to you xD
952  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Investing in SIAcoin? What YOU NEED to KNOW + Antminer A3 / Obelisk Tech SC1 on: January 25, 2018, 03:33:27 PM
So what would happen to Sia (price wise) after these Obelikses and A3`s hit the mining pools? The price would go down, logically, right? If those numbers are correct one unit would mine 300k sia monthly  Shocked

Why would the price of the coin go down? Net profitability will go down as more ASIC's come online, which means your 300k number will drop to 200k, 100k and below super fast. But the price of the coins will stay the same, may even increase as has happened in the past when Dash and LTC ASICs came out and generated a lot of new interest.
that's kind of where my head is at too. . if the sia devs navigate this decently I think sia will probably make some big increases,  millions of dollars of hardware were just dumped into their ecosystem

Not just the hardware, but think about all the new people this brought to the Sia community.  They are getting their coins out into many many more hand now.  I think if anything, this sparked much more interest into Sia.  Wouldn't that be considered a good thing?  Unless the Sia devs are only concerned with being the only ASIC producer for their coin (monopoly)....
this. . . its astonishing how many people arent realizing this. .

Whuddup Vosk, huge fan of your channel been following for awhile.

My friend and I both ordered AntMiner A3's, we received both today and got them hooked up around 6:00pm EST. One has been running flawlessly up until a few minutes ago, the other is exhibiting the same issues others have mentioned. Fault light comes on, shows erratic hash rates, all hash boards and ASIC chips are recognized, temps are okay but it's clearly not getting any work done.

We were getting hashrates of about 1500-1700 (total for both units combined), then it was around 900 when we first noticed an issue with one of the miners. Unplugged it for about two minutes, plugged it back in and still received a fault light and low hash rates. Unplugged it and swapped rooms, PSUs and cables with a known good S9 and it started working again at full speed. About 15-20 minutes later the same thing started happening.

Troubleshooting these kinda sucks because we keep them across town. May end up bringing them home until they simmer down and straighten out.

About two hours later I'm getting the issue for the first time with the other miner, now down to 313 GH/s total... No bueno. If anyone comes up with a solution or reason why this is happening would love to hear it.
Thatís awesome man thanks for the support!

Personally I just restarted it remotely twice and luckily it fixed itself

What pool are you on and what are temps and is it stock clocked?

Vosk do you plan on holding these coins or dumping them on Bittrex? I got mine hooked up earlier and will have my second A3 in tomorrow. Just wondering which would be the best route.
Iím personally holding them I think sia will see big growth with all of this exposure if they navigate this semi decently.. just speculation of course

I thought the D3 would trash dash price but somehow did the opposite so Iíll place my bets the other way this time lol
955  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain Antminer A3 earning $500 a day mining SIAcoin . .WHAT?! Results & Stats on: January 25, 2018, 01:59:55 PM
Yep can't wait till Sia forks.  Bitmain does whatever the hell they want for there own self interest without talking to the community , Sia should do whatever the hell they want also that's in their best interest without the need to discuss to the community.  , They should have just forked it before the A3 bricks arrived.
then they should brick their asic miners too?

if they are "decentralized" they cant just fork because bitmain crashed their party imo

Your point is valid on a zoomed in viewpoint. All miners should freely compete for coin to mine.

I would argue that in the bigger picture Sia is doing their job by breaking up centralized asic mining. So allowing their obelisk to stand a chance to enter asic competition, Sia forking is nessary to support more decentralized asic manufacturing and jobs right in the USA.

Decentralized miners don't mine on large pools. It's healthy to  break up the big pools

If your a true decentralized miner you should think about Supporting the fork. If your in it only for the cash. Keep on buying bitmain and support their toxic centralized asic ecosystem. I know I will and never proud of it. But they are the only game in town unfortunately.

Enjoy your $500 a day mining profits. You earned it and really supported hard working  Sia devs(cough bitmain). As for the Sc1 folks they will enjoy their bricks and what's left. The rich will get richer with centralized asic mining

What???  The SIA devs promoted the nonsensical view that ASIC mining would be great for their coin, and healthy, and double-plus good.  In what alternate universe could you ever think that you, and you alone, would be the only possible developer to come out with an ASIC miner?  SIA wants centralized ASIC mining, only they want to be in control.  Bitmain beat them to the punch, end of story.
This, exactly this.
956  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain Antminer A3 earning $500 a day mining SIAcoin . .WHAT?! Results & Stats on: January 25, 2018, 01:56:50 PM

This type of thinking is what will limit Siacoin growth.  Don't you want Siacoin in as many hands as possible to be as widely distributed as possible, to grow as much as possible?  Think of how many people this brought to the Siacoin community.  Think of the stabilization and decentralization this brings to the coin.

If the devs fork the coin to brick the A3's, it's only out of spite because Bitmain beat them to market with an ASIC.  It's a bit hypocritical to say you don't want an ASIC mining the coin right now when the devs are soon to release their own ASIC to mine the coin.  Makes no sense if you want a decentralized coin.  If they fork it to resist the A3, then isn't it becomming a centralized/controlled coin?  I think that's the opposite of what they want it to be.
Absolutely agree, this is crypto and crypto should be decentralized

Thanks for sharing the updates and experiences! As SIA supporter and (since yesterday, former) SIA GPU miner I'm very interested in seeing the changes of the network.

Ah that chart is wild... and gladly man thanks for taking the time to drop a reply! Iíll post another update in a couple days Iíve been face deep in too much SIAcoin lately lol

Asicpocalypse?!

RIP!!
lol yeah its down to 200 a day or less , this was expected by most of us though.

I predict this will be a $50 a day miner , still a 1.5 month ROI which is solid
How do you figure?

Still earning over 350 SIAcoin an hour at the time of this post

Obelisk has done nothing but talk
while they were talking (and taking money for their talk), Bitmain and Balkai put OUT miners

- They screwed buyers with BTC price, the YEAR lockup will cost SO much in BTC price rise, so ROI of your actual $ back = like 3 years, and they havent been RELEASED yet :/
- By the time they drop one, it will be HIGHLY inefficient, and their excuse is:  well "were gonna promise a 2-10x better one within 6 monthish after..."    -_-  thats reassuring
- Butterfly labs all over, by time its delivered, it will be ded.
- those who buy in HAND now direct have a chance, but thats it, havent people seen this over and over each new FPGA/ASIC? :/

oh well, i don't do preorders so i never threw my money away im happy for

Well said , thats what I bee trying to tell people, youre giving $$ to a vaporware company that did not even have a freaking prototype then get mad
when they get beaten to the punch by true professionals ?

I hope this will be the last fucking 6 month + preorder we even see on these boards when all these idiots lose thier shirts.

I cant even take pity on them because we have seem this damn movie before like 10 times so far
You saw this happening 10 times, and you hope it doesn't happen again? You should know better Smiley
I did order a couple of miners from them, and I'm hoping for the best, one of my units is Decred miner, still no competitor, will come for sure. I have diversified mining equipment and risked a small fraction though. Unfortunately some put everything they got in this basket Sad
Alt least you diversified , which means you know what you are doing. Its the newbies who put all thier $$ into this vaporware miner  despite warnings I am referring to.
There should be some sort of crypto code where no one would support a pre order that is say more than 3 months out lol
