1  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Will you recommend me to use bitstamp in 2019? on: March 19, 2019, 07:20:29 PM
If you are in the USA coinbase is better probably

Read my reply above coinbase is not allowed where I live, nor would I trust them with my money.

I think you need to choose the exchange by yourself because you can get two possibilities for choosing bitstamp, yes or no. You need to know that how you feel when you trade on bitstamp, is it comfort or not. Then you can choose with a right. Don't just follow the recommendation from us but you need to feel by yourself.

The point in my opinion is not to register with every single exchange and do KYC with all of them only to experience how it feels to trade there in order to make my mind. As there are already people who traded before me and will in future I guess it is better to learn from others and get their opinions about the situation than to test everything myself.

Here is some other information about withdrawal and deposit fees below.
Read above, I have already linked their fee structure https://www.bitstamp.net/fee_schedule/ Smiley!

A lot of Europeans citizens are using Kraken and it works like a charm. Bitstamp is good as well but Kraken is faster with banking transactions. You can receive your payment withdraw within a few hours sometimes. Bitstamp is faster when it's about to verify your account with your ID.

I might look at kraken yeah they are still pretty old exchange as well.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah anyways still in that "grey zone" undecided now should I go with any major exchange or use LBC well I guess will read more about before making my mind....

Thanks all for your replies!

The major problem I started to see is that I will have to tell from where did I get my funds such as fiat and crypto as it is an extra hustle going back and forth with support etc...
2  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Will you recommend me to use bitstamp in 2019? on: March 18, 2019, 10:16:12 AM
Bitstamp is ok as long as you deal with EUR, not sure how their USD side is. The thing with an exchange like this is that they keep asking you silly questions in order to know more about you.

People are being asked things like how much crypto you plan to trade in the coming months or years, what the source is, if you can point them to addresses your coins are stored in, and the list goes on. It's horrible.

I'm not sure about LBC and their hunger for your information, but at least you're doing peer to peer business, which is better than subjecting yourself to an exchange like Bitstamp or Coinbase.

Coinbase is not an available option for my country but knowing the reviews of it I don't think I'll go for them even if they were available. Well I can't really tell the sources as seriously I have mixed up everything. Earned crypto by doing services to others then traded them they are all mixed up now xD so I guess it is not worth the hustle. And was thinking to trade with their USD pair as that is what I've got atm.

At least before LBC had not asked for single information, you could go and trade there freely without giving your ID. Ofc some traders might ask for an ID but you don't have to go through them in order to buy or sell.

Yeah my point of view was a bit the same in the past for BIG exchanges but wanted to try something different. Guess it is not worth it.
3  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Will you recommend me to use bitstamp in 2019? on: March 18, 2019, 09:38:47 AM
I think when it comes to the rates, trading with individuals is better as there are no third party fees.

Bitstamp is still solid but there are other options on the market: Coinbase, Coinmama, BitPanda, Bitfinex. It depends on the payment methods you're willing to use and where you're from.

No third part fees but if we look for instance at LBC prices usually what you will get is +/- 100$ depending if you are buying or selling which to my understanding "trusted" exchanges have better rate even with fees if we say they don't seem much other than if there are any hidden fees included ofc.
https://www.bitstamp.net/fee_schedule/ reasonable for me I guess.

Thanks for your input, really appreciate it man  Smiley
4  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: WINKLEVOSS: ‘CRYPTO DOESN’T NEED RULES,’ CRYPTOCURRENCY COMPANIES DO on: March 17, 2019, 10:06:02 PM
It’s no secret that the Winklevoss twins have been championing the ‘sanitization‘ of cryptocurrency. With their “fully regulated” Gemini exchange, their goal is to change the Wild West image of the fledgling industry that’s been plagued by exchange hacks, scams and fraudulent security offerings.

https://bitcoinist.com/winklevoss-cryptocurrency-trust-rules/
And after receiving a fair amount of criticism from the bitcoin users worldwide, Cameron came back with the statement that you've mentioned in the thread subject! Cryptos can't be regulated - that's an universal truth! However, I too strongly believe that the business entities must be regulated who are built around cryptos. because the mass adoption can only happen when there is regulation because it brings trust within the system.

Marketing trick for gemini!

Regulation is inevitable if we want broader adoption - I can agree to this. Many people/companies will see cryptos as a gray area and if you were to ask somebody still he will think twice if this thing is legal. By having the strict rules that are made public will only have an impact on the crypto space in a positive manner, to grow more.
5  Economy / Service Discussion / Will you recommend me to use bitstamp in 2019? on: March 17, 2019, 09:14:58 PM
Hey all,

This might be stupid question to ask from my side, but I was out of the loop of crypto which means that I haven't followed any news whats so ever. Basically last thing I remember hearing about bitstamp is that they were sold to another company.

I remember they were okay in the past for buying and selling bitcoin as a reputable exchange over the years. Just before I get in any business with them now I want to make sure if it is still a solid exchange for EU countries? Have they had any problems recently and is it worth it to verify my acc there? As I've used only like LBC in the past and want to get verified with exchanges now for better rates ofc.

Thanks in advance guys!

7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: WHAT IS HAPPENING TO ETHEREUM? on: September 15, 2018, 10:28:31 AM
This year has been a very stressful year for the world of crypto. Almost all coins have suffered the ups and downs fate of cryptocurrencies. I have always had some high level of confidence in ethereum ever  since I joined the world of crypto. Despite the fall in the price of ethereum, this amazing coin keeps coming up but it is quite unfortunate how fast ethereum is dropping over the past weeks now. I still believe ethereum can rise again, what do you also think?

What is happening? It is really simple, this is bear market. People don't like buying anything when prices are going down, be it crypto, stocks or any other kind of asset. If you understand psychology you would understand the reason behind this. People see prices to go down and they even want to sell at loss if they have the feeling of prices going down. There are other speculations including that some past ICOs with huge stashes of ETH are selling because they need money to pay for things they do etc.

Another thing is that ETH is not alone in this and for the time being their best case so far was for ICOS and ICOs only.
8  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Donald Trump's Gives Gives Hope For ETF Future on: September 15, 2018, 10:22:38 AM
For those who want the SEC news:

[quote author=https://cryptocoin.news/videos/bitcoin-this-week-trump-gives-hope-to-bitcoin-etf-evidence-on-blockchain-admissible-
With Roisman’s confirmation, three out of the five SEC commissioners now have favorable views on cryptocurrencies. However, there’s no timeframe for the approval of any future Bitcoin ETF. Nine proposals from three different issuers were rejected as recently as late August, partly due to fears of market manipulation and the lack of future trading volume.
It's obviously that SEC will delay the approval of ETF since there's no time frame and they'll use this to heightened the fears and uncertainty in the community thus manipulating the price.

I'll just grab my popcorn in the meantime and watch all these dramas to be over. Just too tired by this undying issue.

They know that they will have huge influence and impact on the price and thus they should act accordingly. ETF will eventually be approved but it will take time. It doesn't matter when it will get approved but when it does prices will pump surely. However it is a always good to see that there are some thing happening and that something is moving in crypto space. Such as development and generally good news around.
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Beginning of Crypto transformation on: September 12, 2018, 10:11:56 AM
Well as years and years passes by we might see slower increase and this comes because market cap raises. Many developments are happening around the space and last December bubble just increased the adoption in terms of devs and companies who are trying to build something useful. Of course that not every company will be successful and not every alt BUT with much happening behind the scenes crypto will come stronger with more infrastructure build for the ultimate goal to be more used as a payment. You have Whales in any industry and you have people who manipulate even stock markets, crypto is just easier because of its marketcap currently to manipulate but lets be honest all markets are prone to manipulation.
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETH is $174. It is the bottom of the chart. on: September 12, 2018, 10:06:10 AM
ETH goes down to $174, Do you have any plan for this? I've just bought and wait to $1000 Cheesy

Honestly downtrend is real and it could take few years for the situation to sort out and for bulls to pick up again. How I view things there is a high chance that it could dump even more. Not to mention that Vitalik said something like you won't see any huge raise in future which can pull people to sell even more. If you are ready and prepared to wait. Good luck! But just quick note that Ethereum is not alone as a platform for dApps and there is none that is vastly used by people to push ETH adoption rn. Of course it could pick up its old price. Even BTC in 2013 dumped hard and recovered.
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can blockchain replace bank? on: September 11, 2018, 10:34:49 AM
The current trend of blockchain is very high, couple with it's ability to execute millions transactions within seconds, few transactions cost and no third party is require or paper signing. All transactions recorded and kept open, taking alway cross border and languages barrier, excellent in e commences. So many features to change the world. My emphasis is can blockchain has the capacity to replace bank?

Listen, big money guys would not let crypto happen easily. As we already know countries like China are not lets say happy with crypto. On the other side people have trust in banks. With crypto since many people don't know what responsibility is will lose their keys, be scammed, send to wrong address and thus be unable to get a refund or anything. Thus they might even see it as something they don't want to use/be part of. As I am seeing banks might in future offer the ability for users to use crypto and fiat altogether. But for this to really take off a lot of time has to pass. And maybe we will see it. Mass adoption is still long way ahead. From this point I don't think it will replace banks.
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: The bulls will run Q4 2018. Thoughts? on: September 10, 2018, 08:14:08 AM
Looking at the charts it still seems likely BTC will still fall well below 6000. Are you optimistics for a turn around in perhaps October or November?

If we take a closer look about past few years you can notice that mostly at the Q4 of the year that price starts picking and going up. If we follow this "Season trading trend" then we can assume that there is lets say good chance, good probability that it could happen this year as well. Although this doesn't guarantee nor mean that it is going to happen 100%. Given in mind that ETFs keep getting rejected and maybe there will be another "bad" news that could have an impact. Because you can't control things that might and could or even happen around. However I am staying optimistic. If nothing happens in Q4 of this year I have good feeling about the next year. All depends how afraid are the people of buying because of the big pump last year.
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: how can I return my coins. I am deceived by the company moneytoken on: September 10, 2018, 08:10:34 AM
I think that KYC is all reason not to give you your coins earned honestly. I had experience with the company moneytoken, I participated in the bounty I credited coins in my personal account. I passed KYC documents accepted and approved positively. After some time, the company decided to take away from the personal cabinet. accusing me that I have a multi-account.  I provided them with evidence that there was not any deception on my part and that I was doing the work in good faith. now the command is silent does not respond to my requests. I consider it a theft passing verification is useless.

I am not sure if there is anything you can do. You are playing by their rules now. Always double check if KYC is actually required or will be required in the future. I myself don't have some huge trust in bounty campaigns enough to provide them with my personal documents. From what you wrote above I can conlude that everything is in their power. I am not sure the laws of your country if you may have the right to sue them but then you should look at the cost and time and fiqure out if it is worth it at the end of the day.
14  Economy / Speculation / Re: What you must know about the Silk Road & The Current Bearish Market on: September 09, 2018, 01:48:35 PM
The Silk Road was a darknet market best known as a platform for selling illegal goods. It operated as a Tor hidden service to exclude traffic monitoring, which was convenient for criminals to deliver their services through the network. Silk Road was launched in February 2011 and already had 10,000 products for sale 70% of which were drugs by March 2013.

Although there were a lot of illegal products on the site, there were also restrictions: child pornography, stolen credit cards, assassinations, and weapons of any type were banned for sale and exchange. The site provided some legal goods as well, such as apparel, art, books, cigarettes, erotica, jewelry, and writing services.

The Silk Road was shut down in October 2013 by the FBI, whose agents also arrested Ross William Ulbricht, the founder of the system. There were two attempts to recreate the Silk Road, but both of them have been unsuccessful. The latest news on the Silk Road promises no further attempts.

Source: Cointelegraph

There have also been some reports that the current sharp price drop in Bitcoin and the entire crypto market is as a result of the 100,000 BTC that was allegedly dumped from a wallet associated with the Silk Road.

People like you just throw some BS stuff around because you want to make sense of the price. Same as folks that were telling it is the MTGOX account that is selling the coins etc. You are simply trying to make sense of the situation. But reality is pretty simple. People were buying in because they saw easy money and saw bitcoin and crypto scene as some get quick rich scheme. When everybody was buying prices pumped and you see that bubble, everybody thought it was going up and this is the reason why they bought. Now when market is in bearish position you even see less volume because people don't believe in bitcoin because they see the price is falling. Mostly what happens is pshycology of an investor, if you understand that you will understand why things happen. Yes crypto market is prune to manipulation and pump and dump schemes and that is how it is.
15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Tracking funds in wallet on: September 09, 2018, 01:43:53 PM
Although I don't know if such an app exists but I think creating such an application would be possible.
The basic algorithm we could use is that notify a user with the transaction ID if an address boradcasts a transaction on the blockchain.
Again I don't know if implementing it would be possible. I am just expressing my thoughts on the application development.

Do you even mind reading comments before you give your opinion if something is possible etc. I've put down few applications that will let you see your balance and transactions and some of them have the option to notify you. Of course this is an "easy" work as all you have to do is grab the information, data, from an API that other people provide such as blockchain.info, etherscan.io etc. unless you host your own nodes and want to build an app that will connect to your nodes. Set that every now and then the app to refresh and issue an request from an API and if something is changed issue the notification.... You clearly never programmed, or understand the basics. Please read and inform yourself before just posting just to post something.
16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Tracking funds in wallet on: September 08, 2018, 12:23:27 PM
Looking for one that holds eth and btc coins. Basically want to get notified once the balance changes in the waller
For bitcoin I'd recommend SENTINEL app that is maintained by Samurai wallet devs. With it you can track single address or yet even HD wallets. I've been using this one and it is great, simple app with nice interface to use. Here is the link if you are interested: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.samourai.sentinel&hl=en

For ethereum simple app that will let you track your ethereum holdings with erc20 token this works, not the best UI but works: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.pazhukov.ethwatcher

For both Ethereum and Bitcoin and other coins you might want to take a look at this one: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.codit.cryptowatchwallet although I think it does not have support for tokens on eth network.

Well I use android and this is the case why I only know about android apps. There are prob others made for IOS but I don't know about them, nor I have tried any of those.
17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: warning for everyone is storing private key on evernote on: September 08, 2018, 12:11:32 PM
I am hacked my eth address when i store private key on evernote,I don't know how can they access my evernote  and they steal my private key and all eth and my altcoin, they edit my private key to I can't use my eth address,i see this account has many trans from many other eth address  to this eth address,so i want warning everyone don't use evernote to store private key, here address hacked:0xe4969252150846F85EDE66E7bf7407ab5E5A0697

Do you understand how evernote actually work? When you write something it is stored on their server thus people who work for evernote are able to access what you type, when you type etc. It is far from being private. Problem with you is that you haven't don't your homework to understand what is bitcoin, ethereum and other cryptocurrencies in order to be able to know more about security. If you've done your homework however you would know that STORING your private keys ONLINE is the WORST you can be doing. Don't trust 3rd party providers with your money, crypto was made so that you are in control not others.
18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How To Make Sure Crypto Trading Does Not Take Over Your Life on: September 07, 2018, 07:53:33 AM
Could you live without cryptocurrency in your life? For its proponents, bitcoin is a drug that’s had them hooked since the day they discovered it. Not all holders feel the same way though. Stung by massive losses and the realisation that cryptocurrency is taking over their life, some traders forced themselves to walk away for good.

https://news.bitcoin.com/living-with-life-after-crypto/

Well of course I could live without cryptocurrency now, I mean like I can't use normal currency, fiat money, now... Best practice is to simply stop looking at the prices. Reinstall and remove every app like blockfolio and others for portfolios put your money on paper wallet and come back after few years. This is the best tactic for somebody who can't sleep without looking at prices. Problem is that people are greedy to much and this is the first place why they invest into crypto, because they dream about quick and easy money. But in reality there is no such thing, you have to work to get something.
19  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Can the Google Chrome extension cryptotab really get you $50,000 a month? on: September 07, 2018, 07:46:14 AM
Nothing good comes easily in this world. I don’t know why people bother with schemes like this which make you do work for literally pennies.

You’re better off just getting a job & buying crypto in small increments, whatever you can afford at regular intervals & HODLING.

Well MLM and pyramid schemes are designed so that you start to believe that it is easy money. People don't care if they earn pennies although I would agree with you on getting the job. Same thing with faucets many people lose time there but they can start and learn something get a job and earn more overtime. Everybody knows this if they want to create a thing that goes viral give it an affiliate system with low barrier of entry as with this people are going to spam refferal links everywhere and get you customers. But in reality when I see such services I am very cautious about them because I know how they operate under the hood.
20  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do we too contribute to price manipulation by storing our bitcoins in exchanges? on: September 07, 2018, 07:39:42 AM
We all have advised these much days others not to store bitcoins in exchanges as they might get hacked.

But is this the only issue we are facing or do we all contribute to price manipulation by storing our bitcoins in exchanges.

So in order to avoid exchanges from using our bitcoins and manipulating price,we should immediately transfer our bitcoins to our wallets.

Unless we are going to trade immediately our bitcoins,we should not store our bitcoins there.

Why would exchanges use our crypto to do trades without our knowledge? Of course that I would not advise anybody to keep their coins on exchanges but I don't see to be the case. I mean if they wanted to manipulate with prices they could simply add fake trades and fake volume on their exchange. As we already know that is stored on their servers so that they could easily lie about it and get away with it. Nobody can check the truth of information unless you are working for them and have knowledge of shady things that particular exchange might do.
