1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 1080Ti Specific - Best mining option on: September 05, 2017, 09:23:37 PM
My settings for 1080 Ti Seahawk X (liquid cooled Ti card) is

i=26,
mem - 500
core +125
power limit 90%

I get around 53.5 Mh/s and card temp is around 58-60 celsius.

What you think? I am still noobish with this Ti cards, dont know what clocks are safe, how is their performance etc etc.

Any suggestions / tips?

And about fan cooling the radiator, i think it's running 100% all the time, as it cant be controled, it's 3 pin fan. It runs on 100% all the time.

With my evga 1080ti hybrid water cooled I run these conserverative-moderate settings for my $0.15 cent per watt energy bill

mem -502
core +125 or +150
power limit 70-80 percent.
temperature readings : 53-60 degrees average
Fan speed 60 percent
open air rig with 12" exhaust vent and a box fan blowing on them

I am not maximizing it's efficiency/performance but just trying to get it in the general ball park.  Since I am not home to watch it all the time I think it's more important to have conservative-moderate settings that are reliable 24/7.  Down time can get costly, so i think it's more important to have something reliable and focus your time on good trading skills and not overly focus on just efficiency per watt best clock settings possible.

Mine crap coins,  and wait for a pump and sell Smiley  . That's the most profitable approach if your good at trading and can wait long enough for the pump. Look at signatium. Or mine a decent mid tier slow moving giant coin like decred/zcash/monero if you got the hash power,  . Mining what everyone else is mining is a poor strategy, you'll never be able to mine enough coins to cover your investment cost in a reasonable amount of time.

I guess its time to buy some dash. When hashrate increases exponential its always better to buy the coin instead of mining it Cheesy

I think it's going to be very interesting to see how Crypto shakes out in the years ahead. To really grow the market to it's maximum potential it needs to go mainstream. But to go mainstream there will have to be oversight like the FTC, and this entire movement is Illegal as hell(Market manipulation/ insider trading) in the Stock Market for good reason( the guy that lost 1.2 BTC). But if it's ever regulated then the potential for quick crazy gains will be suppressed and Interest in investing in it would decline. Sort of a "Catch 22" scenario. The US Congress said last week that Crypto's are not in Compliance, but at the same time Amazon is about to start taking BTC as a payment and we know that Gov's around the globe are looking to go Cashless.... should be very interesting the next few years.

Biggest money is always in the unregulated market. Until regulation happens groups like HODL crew are going to make millions and millions of dollars off of investing in digital currencies like this one. You can whine about it or join the fun, your call. And as far as I know Crypropia is in New Zaeland so US Congress doesn't even count. If regulation does become too limiting we will see the markets migrate to tax havens etc...

As for Chaincoin I tend to look at it as if a large investment fund invested in the coin and that can only be a good thing.

No one from the hodl crew made millions it simply is not possible.  They Lost A LOT Of Money now that it is $0.50 cents. They were instructed to always hodl their bags and not sell and go long term 5 years+.  It is not possible to make anything if you are instructed to never dump your bags to be apart of the hodl crew. The short term trader whales took advantage of the hodl crew good will intentions and made millions.  They are the ones that pumped it from $2-$7 and dumped. They are not apart of the hodl crew and they were also spying on the hodl crew slack channel to take advantage of the hyped up members willing to put a lot of their hard earned money into this movement.

It depends on how you look at it. Currently the price has dropped but it will not stay this low forever and if they are in it for the long term they will make money and as a group they will make millions. Only guys who will lose their money are those who have sold at lower price then they have entered. Hodlers movement is a longterm investment group and when the coin reaches $10+ they will all make good money. Many of them will make millions. And this will surely happen as the coin has huge potential and with HODL crew investment devs now have the money to finance the development. This coin can easily become a huge sucess. Just imagine where that 7$ price maximum would go if the coin was traded on bittrex. So I think that the HODL guys will be very happy that they have invested in CHC.

I actually agree with you. Chaincoin community is similar to Sib coin.  All they do is hodl.  They have low trading volume so it takes a long time for the price to go up but it's slow and steady.  When it does come time to sell some for profit not many people are buying the coins so it's hard to cash out and be a millionaire when there is very little buyers.  Strong development can stimulate coin demand and provide the liquidity in the long run. I hope chain coin dev ramps up big and hire more programmers.

For those that made lots of money on chaincoin and feel bad about it.  Consider investing some of your profits back into chain coin and hodl especially now that the prices are low.  A lot of those that lost money are new to the crypto trading and a lot of them are kids with very little money.  Zedo max is a cool guy and is forgiving and always willing to invite anyone back into his community. He's the type of guy that makes the whole crypto trading playground fun and brings more people into this space which benefits everyone

God dammit fishies...  What are you talking about?  Big dump? Whales?
Have you even inspected this shit?
Do you even understand how this works?

NONE of the big bagholders has moved a single coin.

Heres 2 simple ways you can be played by whales here.

**** PRE SHOPPING *****
This springs masternode hype... whales realized the game and went shopping.
So even before the game begins, they got you.

Say hi to Mr. "CYNesxHVUhZGVps68ETsYPiLDbM9wKpjea" , who has 1,6 M and did his shopping in May 2017.
http://104.238.153.140:3001/address/CYNesxHVUhZGVps68ETsYPiLDbM9wKpjea
Say hi to Mr. "CbXGGLG4owhFd8uELVygst69mGn4wyuuge" , who has 800K  and did his shopping in april-may 2017.

And so on ...
Ofcourse they wont dump this until its worth sometihng juicy.
Cryptopia cant get that kind of buy support.... they'll wait for buttrex.

**** OUTSMARTING  *****

Of your infamous 65 btc wall.. who outshopped you and had the 240 other btc's there?
They could just pull that wall and send the fish into full panic mode.
Like .. "the wall is gone the wall is gone" .. while in reality it was the only one there.. it was the fake support orders that were pulled.

*****

There are so many ways.. and even in this little test. Im sure they now sit even stronger, and got btc's from the ones who paniced... and had to buy back in at higher price then they panic sold into the whaletrap.

Its all fun and games in the fishpond,
until a whale splashes sends them flopping on the shore.

Personally.. I love the idea and community trying to build lasting values. But please stop getting so insanely excited....
Half these kids thinks they are millionaires... while the true value of the coin aint more than you can sum up buy orders for.

But for this to go all the way... there needs to be dumping.
Those major holders must prove they either are in the hodling group ...or be teased out to dump.
This might cost a few hundred btc ... but should be worth it to get the coins out of single hands and spread into many.

Then the question is if another big player will just pick up the majority cheap... or if the spread will be good.
If that spread is good, there shouldnt be any players left in the game to crash it.
That will be the REAL test.

Just  a few realities.
Not a fud with lies and bullshit.

Keep it real.
Be realistic.
Be aware.
Be smart.

NEVER CELEBRATE BEFORE CASH IN HAND!
NEVER INVEST MORE THAN YOU CAN AFFORD LOSING!
KEEP CALM when shit is hot!

Suicide rates among traders is a real thing.
Ive noticed people are so excited they dont sleep for days.
This is a problem...
Sleep deprivation will make you dull .. and slow... and emotional.
When you then start to make decisions with those 3 factors pushing you.. shit goes bad.

SLEEP! EAT! BE SHARP LIKE A SWORD!

This will not be an easy RUN TO THE SUN,
or SOON TO THE MOON,
without a war.

If you truly are hodlers... you will win this.
I hope so.

Well said,  I like that,  Gives me more insight on what whales will do but that's how it is with all the potential coins. That's just how it is, im sure the devs have a lot and I'm just gonna keep on HODL.

The investor guy zedomax that's organizing highoncoins bought 30 master nodes from $0.10 to $0.80 cents and probably higher building up that big buy wall.  He doesn't really care about money he does this for fun and laughs.  His dad is a multi-millionaire and he's not the greedy type.  He said he'll hold that coin even if it drops to a penny.  I believe him,   .  The dev's won't dump their own coins and crash what they are building. Maybe sell a little to buy a can of beans to live off of.

The only one investor is the whole chain coin community that's tired of getting pumped and dumped on.  They welcome everyone to join them if you believe in their goals.

You're definition of what I call DUMB MONEY IN CRYPTO

I bought chain coin for fun months ago at 0.06 cents to get 1 master node.  I saw value and potential when discovered.  That action is usually considered"Smart Money" Smiley
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [CHC] ChainCoin - 0.9.2.4 Update - Cryptopia & Novaexchange on: July 14, 2017, 05:47:36 PM
Threats? Pump was made 5 days ago. Now. Ppl with 1+ masternodes are holding and setting the lower price. Anyone can sell and buy. We're just fighting off dumpers with walls. By the way if people don't know how walls work don't worry about it. We have a lot ppl with lots of cash doing the job. If you have little coins just hold it and sell when its high. We are actually organized and in consensus. Join the slack chat.

I was drawing comparisons between Chaincoin and Terracoin and talking about the potential of TRC to rise to CHC levels or greater. I just poked my head in here.

The philosophy here with CHC is really pump and hold? People are being threatened to not sell their coins? That's a little ridiculous and is doomed to fail.

I was referring to the screenshots posted above - talking about banning users from slack for speaking about selling their coins.

Yes not all the moderators are as polished as they can be.  They got carried away but zedomax and the community always give each other feedback to be
 more organized and polished.

Overall your free to do whatever you want with your money.

The community encourage selling your minted master node coins and selling 100 coins or 10 percent of your bags when prices are too hot,  they do not want people to dump all their coins due to fear or being a greedy dumper.  They don't like to screw people over, they like to hold but they can't control the market.

Aren't we all tired of the markets getting dumped.  Community can hold us together so I think this is a good long term coin,  I never seen a community this strong and fun. I can see this coin being meant for those that missed the Dash rise, if you feel the same way join the cause

Hi. so just you know. the hodl comunity are not the devs for chaincoin. we just liked it for many reasons and we are putting our money behind it. that said i can't tell you to invest or not. do your research. visit chaincoin website for info. there some good videos on YT . peace

But is it correct that 90% pif they coins are with ONE investor/dev or whatever? If he/they just through 10% of the coins on the market then the supply would already double...

I'm Hodling my 7x  1080 ti miners.  Just bought them a month ago,  i'll mine them 24/7/365 till i go homeless,  I don't even care if i'll mine at a loss with the  rising difficulty and crowded space.
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: PSU Problem on: July 07, 2017, 06:41:58 PM
I have had similar issues where it would power on and power off after a couple of seconds, Happened on two power supply's.  So i knew it was probably something with the motherboard,  Happened to be a loose heatsink on the north/southbridge since I was rough handling the motherboard.  Finally got it to work after fixing the heatsink mounting on the north/south port bridges
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Friends coming at me with 40-50k to invest into mining rigs on: July 07, 2017, 04:49:11 PM
I hear people from 2-3 years ago saying difficulty is too hard with their current  hardware at the time and I hear people now saying the same thing with new hardware. There is no easy money. You gota mine and be willing to accept to break even or have slim profits in the short term to mid term. If your willing to accept that potential reality then go for it. The real gains come from holding your coins as long as you can, or until it has a nice price breakout after mining them if your lucky. That can take 6 months or more. The biggest mistake to me is giving up and not trying it. I rather try and fail and try again. Those are the winners. It's just like housing. Get in as early as you can. It's a long term game. Always think bigger picture, go against trend, and do things that not many people are doing due to difficulty.

Going back to specifics if your going to run a mining farm you're going to have to learn as you go, debug the hardware equipment and software,  find ways to better optimize cost of equipment as you build and go on.  Even if it's not the most optimized your fighting against time so you can make a few mistakes and keep improving as you go.  Ditch the shopping list and just do it and build your 1st fully functional working rig. Once that's running perfectly you'll build your next rig cheaper and more efficient. Start small and expand

16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / connecting hdmi causes my computer to restart? on: July 06, 2017, 04:30:16 AM
Hi.  Whenever I plug in my hdmi monitor cable my computer resarts every single time.

This happened to two of my rigs.  They have 1080 ti gtx with biostar350 with ryzen cpus.

It's so sensitive that even if I turn the box fan speed higher/lower that is on the same surge protector as the oled monitor with the hdmi connecting to the 1080 video card will cause the computer to go black screen and reboot.  my power supply is on a separate dedicated circuit.

Is this because I have gpu risers and they are sensitive to disruption?

Works fine with dvi monitors but does not like hdmi signal.

18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [LTC] What are the reason behind recent LTC rise? on: July 05, 2017, 01:42:55 AM
I believe part of the reason for the rise is because btcc (dax) exchange just got launched by Charlie Lee brother Bobby Lee.  I feel smart traders are positioning in early for the event when Litecoin gets to be traded on BTCC (Dax)

When looking at the btcc website it looks exactly like coinbase and gdax.  This is pretty much the coinbase of china it appears.  Website looks slick and usa friendly to use.
