Is support for LBRY being dropped? We're past the hardfork block that happened today.

I was scratching my head unable to find the new AMD GPU Compute setting with the new driver. Seems it's not an isolated problem: https://community.amd.com/thread/221474

Any idea why the miner would be causing an insane amount of mouse lag since that last Win10 update? I reinstalled the mouse drivers and it's definitely the miner.

Edit: When I stop mining on the GTX 1070 the RX 480s are lag free. It may be the last Nvidia driver...

1070 ti is supposed to be released at the end of the month in the $400 to $420 price range; performing nearly the same as the 1080s.

Lol how to get profit with mining. I have loss so much money for electric  Cry

Unless you know what to mine. Take the new Baikal for instance: https://altmininggear.com/shop/baikal-giant-x10/ , it mines @ 10 gh/s on x11, BUT it can also mine on other algorithms with much lower difficulty rates. Or you could mine different coins on the same algorithm. So the most used purpose of such a machine would be to mine dash. As for now, you would able to mine about $73 @ $0.20 per kW/h, worth of dash every week. But you could also choose to mine cannabis coin, which uses the same algorithm. Now you're mining $75 @ $0.20 per kW/h . Not a huge difference. But still $104 per year.

That Miner costs twice as much as the D9 and has 50% less hashing power and is less efficient electricity wise. Anyone who buys that miner, as soon as the D9's come online in November will lose any chance to make ROI on that thing

I'm only finding info for D3s; where can we find info on D9s?

Did something happen that hit CUDA mining particularly hard that last DAG change? The hashrate on the MSI GTX 1070 GAMING X in my gaming rig dropped almost 2Mh/s but the RX 480s were unaffected.  Huh

What would cause a GPU memory issue CPU mining?
8  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Special Needs Trusts on: August 28, 2017, 10:36:26 AM
Wish I could justify it. They wanted $3k to write the trust. That's a huge chunk of the $15k settlement. I don't mind doing the research. I wrote the trust myself from materials in the local county law library and the county attorney approved it. Just could use some pointers.
9  Other / Beginners & Help / Special Needs Trusts on: August 28, 2017, 10:18:43 AM
Anyone know where I can find information on having cryptocurrency (and mining income) in a Special Needs Trust? I've found very little with internet searches, and hiring a CPA/attorney (tax/trusts) for this would eat too much of the funds. I'm trying to figure out how picky is the state/IRS with showing possession of those funds? Does it only need to be shown when spending coins or trading for fiat? Is there even a way to setup an exchange  account in the trust's name?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

To mine ETH you need mostly memory speed. So you have to copy lower memory straps to the higher ones, increase memory speed and lower core speed a bit to reduce power consumption. all this can be made with SBPolaris.
About the 1070, you can mine ETH with it. Check memory brand to see how much you can OC.
I think most people use the 7950 to mine ZEC.
You don't need all that RAM.
Also, be aware of your PSU, because there's a lot of power hungry GPUs there.

Forgot to include my PSU on that list. Sorry.

12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: SRBPolaris V3 - BIOS editor for RX4XX and RX5XX cards on: August 18, 2017, 04:07:57 AM
Hello,

I have 3 RX480s that I've been mining (ETH/SC) w/Claymore in my gaming rig, to give me time to learn the ropes before building dedicated mining rigs. They're all still at defaults, but I'd like to:

  • lower their power use, and
  • see if I can bump their hash rates up.

The cards that I'd like to explore modding the BIOS on are:

  • XFX RX 480 RS 8GB 1288M XXX HS BP (RX-480P836BM/RX-480P8L),
  • PowerColor RED DRAGON RX 480 8GB GDDR5 (AXRX 480 8GBD5-3DHD), and
  • Gigabyte RX 480 WINDFORCE 8GB (GV-RX480WF2-8GD)

I've read through this entire thread. You're welcome to tell me to RTFM again, but I'm not entirely comfortable that I wouldn't brick the cards. I've looked at the default BIOS roms in SRBPolaris, and they're all recognized. Is there a source on these models on what settings ppl have found ideal? Do I just need to experiment, and hopefully not destabilize the rig repeatedly?

Any tips or resources you can point me toward would be greatly appreciated!

Alena ♥

P.S. In case other device, etc. stats matter:

  • MSI GTX 1070 X Gaming as my main GPU (gaming),
  • SAPPHIRE Vapor-X HD 7950 3GB 384-Bit GDDR5 mining (b/c I haven't gotten rid of it yet).  Smiley
  • MSI Z87-GD65 Gaming motherboard,
  • i7-4770K (3.5 GHz)
  • 32 GB (G.Skill (4 x 8GB) DDR3 PC3-19200 2400MHz TridentX)
  • Windows 10 Pro
  • SK hynix 500GB SSD
  • Barracuda 3TB x6 (RAID5)

Where can I sell this coin?

Looks like all the FCN trading is happening on HitBTC and Cryptopia.

14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Fourth alt coin thread last three got oversized. on: July 03, 2017, 02:28:56 AM
Trying to chose between these cards:

  • ASUS ROG GeForce GTX 1080 Ti STRIX OC
  • GIGABYTE GeForce GTX 1080 Ti 11GB Founders Edition
  • MSI NVidia GeForce GTX 1080 Ti Gaming X OC 11GB GDDR5X
  • EVGA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti FOUNDERS EDITION GAMING 11GB GDDR5X LED DX12 OSD Support

Any pointers on which one(s) to go with/or not (and why)?

Thanks  Smiley
15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's Dual Ethereum AMD+NVIDIA GPU Miner v9.5 (Windows/Linux) on: June 22, 2017, 09:27:35 PM
Does Claymore have alarms build in, and if so for what? I can't figure why the miner is setting off what sounds like a continuous BIOS beep. I stop the miner and the issue stops everytime.  Undecided
